Best films released in the UK this month: September 2025

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

The month has already got under way with a new film from Spike Lee and the latest entry in the mega-successful Conjuring franchise, and there’s plenty more to come, from a sequel to beloved 1984 mockumentary This is Spinal Tap to the long-awaited closing chapter of Downton Abbey, as the Crawleys return to the big screen for a third and final movie spin-off.

Later in the month, Cillian Murphy has reunited with Small Things Like These director Tim Mielants for new film Steve – which is getting a brief theatrical run before being added to Netflix – while the starry duo of Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell lead new romantic fantasy A Big, Bold, Beautiful Journey.

But perhaps the biggest new release of all for film fans is the latest from esteemed writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson, who had teamed up with Leonardo DiCaprio for new thriller One Battle After Another – which seems like a good bet to be a contender when Oscars season comes around.

To help you pick out the highlights, we’ve put together a selection of some of the best films to watch this month – check out the video above or read on for our choices.

Is the September 7, 2025, Lunar Eclipse Visible for Me? Find Out – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 September 7, 2025

Skywatchers around the globe are preparing for a breathtaking celestial event on Sunday, September 7, 2025, when a lunar eclipse will take place. During the phenomenon, Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow that darkens the lunar surface. While this eclipse will be visible to millions of people worldwide, not every region will get to experience it in the night sky, including the United States. Still, for those in parts of Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America, the eclipse promises to be a spectacular show.

Find out more below.

What’s the Difference Between a Lunar and Solar Eclipse?

A lunar eclipse happens when Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting Earth’s shadow onto the Moon and making it appear darkened or reddish. A solar eclipse, on the other hand, occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, blocking out all or part of the Sun’s light for viewers on Earth.

In short: a lunar eclipse makes the Moon look different, while a solar eclipse makes the Sun look different.

Can I See the September 7, 2025 Lunar Eclipse?

For viewers in the United States, this lunar eclipse won’t be visible in the night sky. The timing of the event means that it occurs during daylight hours across North America, so the Moon will be below the horizon.

Since the September 7, 2025 lunar eclipse won’t be visible in the U.S., skywatchers will need to tune in online to experience it. Organizations like NASA, Slooh Observatory, and the Virtual Telescope Project are expected to livestream the event, showing the Moon as it darkens and takes on a reddish hue. The eclipse will reach its peak around 3:12 a.m. UTC on September 8, which translates to 11:12 p.m. ET / 8:12 p.m. PT on September 7.

It’s a full moon today! 🌕

Skywatchers in most of Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia may also see a lunar eclipse, or Blood Moon. Totality will begin around 1730 UTC and last for about 82 minutes.

The good news is that Americans won’t have to wait long, as the next lunar eclipse will be visible in the U.S. in 2026.

When Is the Next Lunar Eclipse After 2025?

After the September 7, 2025 event, the next significant lunar eclipse will occur on March 3, 2026, and that one will be visible in the United States. Another total lunar eclipse is also expected later in the decade, giving skywatchers around the world several more opportunities to witness this celestial show.

bitchy | The Duchess of Kent’s royal Catholic funeral is scheduled for September 16

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Katherine, the Duchess of Kent, passed away at the age of 92. She passed away at home in Kensington Palace Thursday night (9/4), and Buckingham Palace announced her death on Friday. I wondered aloud if the Windsors were going to use some obscure rule to avoid giving the Duchess a formal royal funeral, but it looks like they’re really pulling out all the stops. It will be the first Catholic funeral mass of a member of the British royal family in modern history, apparently. The funeral is scheduled for September 16th.

The funeral of the Duchess of Kent will be held at Westminster Cathedral on 16 September, with the King and Queen among the senior royals who will be in attendance, Buckingham Palace has announced. The duchess, Katharine, died on Thursday aged 92, prompting tributes for her kindness and support for tennis and music – including working as a primary school music teacher.

The duchess was a Catholic and there will be a Requiem Mass for her funeral, which will be the first royal Catholic funeral in the UK in modern history. It will be a private family service, after which the coffin will be taken to the royal burial ground in Frogmore in Windsor.

The duchess, who had been the oldest member of the Royal Family, died in Kensington Palace and her coffin will remain in the chapel there until the evening before the funeral, when she will be brought to Westminster Cathedral. In the Catholic tradition, there will be a service to mark the reception of the coffin into the cathedral, attended by her close family, with the duchess being survived by her husband, the Duke of Kent, and their two sons and a daughter. The coffin will remain in the Lady Chapel overnight, before the funeral the following day.

This first royal funeral at Westminster Cathedral, at 2pm on Tuesday 16 September, will be presided over by Cardinal Vincent Nichols, with the Anglican Dean of Windsor participating, before accompanying the coffin to Frogmore.

[From BBC]

I wonder if the family will also want a wake, another Catholic funeral tradition. As you can imagine, too many people are already making the Duchess of Kent’s death all about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Harry is arriving in London soon, or he’s already in the UK at this moment. Will he “stay” for the funeral? I would say… probably not, but there’s already a lot of speculation that he could. The Mirror said that King Charles and Queen Camilla will definitely attend Katherine’s funeral, as will some of the other members of the royal family.

Harry apparently “privately sent his condolences” to the Duchess’s family, his people confirmed to several outlets. There’s no conversation about postponing the WellChild Awards, like they had to do in 2022 when QEII died. Interestingly enough, one of the Duchess’s rare public outings in recent years was to Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding. She wore sneakers and seemed especially happy for them. She was very close to Princess Diana. Speaking of, Prince William and Kate paid tribute to her with a statement published on Twitter.

Your Horoscope This Week: September 7 to 14

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Cap, the recent Pisces lunar eclipse spotlighted your communication world, bringing attention to words you’ve said, words left unsaid, and truths waiting to be acknowledged. Some of you may have had a breakthrough conversation, while others are sitting with the realization that silence itself can be its own story.

On Monday and Tuesday, the Aries Moon pulls your attention back to home and roots, asking you to tend to your inner world, whether that looks like organizing your closet, journaling about childhood memories, or cooking a comforting meal. Then, the Taurus Moon midweek gives you a creative and romantic boost. Let yourself flirt, paint, dance, or simply say yes to pleasure…it doesn’t mean you’re neglecting responsibility, it means you’re remembering joy is just as productive as work.

By the weekend, the Gemini Moon shifts your focus to routines, wellness, and health. Suddenly, those eclipse-inspired insights about communication show up in your everyday life: maybe you’re clearer with coworkers, more intentional with your words, or finally setting boundaries about what drains your energy. This week isn’t about perfection, it’s about integration. If the eclipse revealed something you can’t ignore, now’s your chance to practice it in small, everyday ways — one conversation, one habit, one clear “no” at a time.

Your Weekly Horoscope: September 7 to September 13, 2025

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Your weekly horoscope is here. Eclipse season is upon us, so slide out of the DMs on Sunday as the full blood moon dissolves into a sea of red. In the watery sign of Pisces, you may prefer to stay offline, lingering longer in a sweet escape from life’s more challenging realities. Go with the flow, put aside your worries and fears, and slip into something more amorphous and open to a liminal space. Tune into compassion for yourself as well as others. Use this eclipse to reset your mindset and slam the door on uninvited thoughts. Consider beliefs that don’t make you feel expansive and powerful, that aren’t serving you in an obvious way. It’s time to turn them around. Super-giver Jupiter amplifies the full moon; wish for what you truly desire—focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. As an act of self-care, touch base with your dream and re-vision your world. The key, as always, is to drop into your body and emotions, feeling yourself living your desired reality as if it were in the present. You’ve got to believe it to see it, rather than see it to believe it, when you’re angling for transformation.

Read on to discover what’s in store for your sign during the week of September 7 through September 13, 2025.

Aries (March 21–April 19)

Aries, the baby of the zodiac, the fiery first one, you’re tasked to go within as Pisces, the final sign, hosts Sunday’s full blood moon eclipse. Less impetuous spontaneity, more diving and swimming through your inner waters (feelings). As your sphere of dreams, sleep, and the liminal spaces is activated, ponder: What has gone under the radar, residing in your peripheral vision, as yet undefined? A feeling? A person? A certain, not knowing? That’s okay—sleep on it through the next two weeks, journal your dreams and feelings, and it will slowly crystallise into view. Get plenty of rest, avoid toxins or emotional toxicity, and give credit to your sensitive side. While your safety zone is spear-wielding shield-maiden-esque, this week feel your way through, respecting your alternative avenues of intel.

Taurus (April 20–May 20)

Image may contain Astronomy Outer Space Light and Planet

La Luna resets in a spectacular total blood moon eclipse this Sunday, activating your sphere of extended networks, peers, and friendships.  Note hard endings, fresh beginnings, and dramatic changes in direction, feeling, and people. New friends, old acquaintances, and undefined feelings that don’t quite make sense…they will. Drop into your intuitive side, via the senses in your body, and feel your way to the truth of what is right and what isn’t, for you. If it feels good, expansive, and uplifting, that’s a positive signal from your inner guidance. If it’s restrictive, downward feeling, and resistant, that’s a no or a “look closer at what the resistance is” for you. Take as much time as you need. If clarity isn’t forthcoming, visit the feeling of what you want or desire by anchoring it within yourself and experiencing it from there. From this point, align it with an external point or goal.

Gemini (May 21–June 21)

Not one to mess about, this week’s full moon sets the pace, ripening to full on Sunday only to dim out to a deep red as it eclipses in the sign of watery Pisces. Themes include tuning into your vision and its perhaps less-than-clear feeling around your direction and what you want to achieve; letting go of exacting, high-definition, pointed objectives; and hitting reset in your career and public sector. At a cross angle to your sign, you’re challenged by this one to be less Gemini and more Pisces. Less intellectual fact and more visionary fantasy. Consider it the point of creation that comes before the plan and rollout. When put in order like this, it makes more sense. Start with the blurry vision, then tune into granular over the next two weeks. By the time the new moon resets in specificity-loving Virgo, you’ll have clarification.

Cancer (June 22–July 22)

With Jupiter in your sign, your luck is off the scale for an entire year. Say yes to the plethora of opportunities as they present, to expand, take leaps of faith that land, and activate good fortune that just won’t quit. In which case, this Sunday’s full blood moon eclipse is most kind to your sign, along with bodyguard Jupiter, in a flowing aspect to it. Catch the ball and run with it, no matter the changes, since growth inevitably involves changing or leaving your comfort zone in some way. Why resist when you can persist so easily right now? In the sphere of expanding your territory, mind, faith, or overview through study, travel, or otherwise, note what gets the eclipse treatment. How will you meet your destiny when it arrives? Or how will you take matters into your own hands to make your own fortune?

Leo (July 23–August 22)

Sunday’s full blood moon eclipse resets topics in your sphere of intimacy and resources through others. Since it’s in nebulous Pisces, it doesn’t exactly render things in high definition, so if anything is left unsaid, it will remain that way. Clear communication isn’t forthcoming over this period, so note your feelings on matters of the deep and meaningful, and perhaps draw, paint, dance, or create a character that best expresses the energy you’re feeling. Taking a creative approach may clear more room for them to present while in fantasy mode. Meanwhile, your income and resources sector creates the balance to what you share with others, so be sure your assets are accounted for as you’re researching and refining your options. Embrace an opportunity to benefit through aligning with others. Go within to manifest good fortune, and it shall be yours.

Virgo (August 23–September 22)

Balance practical deliverables with dream state flow this weekend as a full blood moon eclipse bathes La Luna in red. In your opposite sign, it activates all things one-to-one equal relationships and partnerships. What needs a hard reset? And where can you open up to the mystery that a significant person is bringing into your life? If you’re like most born under a Virgoan sun, you tend toward an overly active and analytical mind that just won’t quit. This is handy most of the time, and sometimes, like now, it’s time to open up to the signs, symbols, feels, hunches, and impressions you pick up through various channels. You’ll see it once you believe it, so don’t always search for proof when an idea or vision is still in gestation. It’s called putting the cart before the horse.

Libra (September 23–October 23)

Image may contain Clothing Footwear Shoe and Light

With a full blood moon eclipse on the rise, your wellness and work sector is ground zero for a hard reset. Since the moon is hosted by Pisces, perhaps putting your feet up, resting and digesting, or slowing down into creative flow are exactly what you need right now. Reflexology can help relieve stress, rebalancing from the ground up. Give it a try if you haven’t already. We toggle in and out of sympathetic and parasympathetic more times than we can count in a day, although our work life tends to demand that the “on” mode dominate with stimulants like coffee. Let this be your sign to swing in and out, because you more than anyone can understand how important true balance is. This lunation supports you, so show up in your career, expand your contacts, and call in luck by making the most of your connections.

Scorpio (October 24–November 21)

Image may contain Light Lighting Astronomy Outer Space and Planet

Ooh la la, this Sunday, a full blood moon eclipse (try saying that fast five times) is set to retest your devotion to your favourite paramour, hobby, or the way you’ve been spending your leisure time. This one has your back as it’s hosted by Pisces, a sign that, if it were a person, would be running your stan account. Good luck flows from thinking big, expanding your territory, building your extended mutual-interest family, publishing, traveling, or studying. Great minds that think together stay together, and in this case, those that share a similar vibe do too. Note what it may be time to naturally and easily let go of, and what you’re ready to bring into your life. Don’t ask how or why, just invite it in knowing it’s easy, pleasurable, and beautiful.

Sagittarius (November 22–December 21)

Image may contain Astronomy Outer Space Planet and Person

It’s all about the soft skills as a full moon in nebulous Pisces eclipses into a deep blood red. Let go of having to pin down your vision of what it means. Instead, open up to the mystery, no matter how fuzzy at this stage. Start with the soft focus, then sharpen over the next two weeks as the new moon resets, closing the eclipse tunnel. Begin a journey of unknowing, so you open to the greater knowing, through a liminal side door. You can’t think your way there through hard intellect, a little like Alice through the looking glass, was she asleep and dreaming? It doesn’t really matter. By a different route, she gained knowledge and awareness she couldn’t have otherwise. Be like Alice and approach your domestic sphere or living arrangements in a new way. This is your hard reset moment on anything that’s not up to scratch or working for you to support your direction, career, or public standing.

With Jupiter, the lucky planet, shining on your relationship sector, note who is bringing the generosity, or capturing yours. Your sphere of local connections and everyday relationships is under the influence of Sunday’s full blood moon eclipse, in which a significant one-to-one relationship is connected. Perhaps someone has been right under your nose and you only see them now. Note who suddenly stands out to you in a positive way or drops off your radar, making room for someone new in your life. Think morning-run-club buddy, lunch-time-coffee downloads, or evening-pickleball crew. A creative or spiritual circle could be just the place to connect and meet that person, or bring your bae or bestie.

Aquarius (January 20–February 18)

Image may contain Light Astronomy Outer Space and Planet

This Sunday’s full blood moon lunar eclipse is on the money, literally, as it resets topics in your sphere of resources, values, income, and your stuff. A big shift in how you run this area may be on the cards, as the financial environment is changing rapidly. Get ahead of the curve and shake it up by letting go of value-draining accounts, subscriptions, and ways of buying, selling, storing, or investing. Perhaps you’re sitting on a gold mine you didn’t realise had value, or something could do with a good clear out. Reassess what is best kept as yours and where you might do well to combine resources and talents with a partner or larger company. Could your values around money, your property, or what you do for work be better aligned intellectually, energetically, and practically? Make the shifts.

Pisces (February 19–March 20)

Image may contain Astronomy Outer Space and Planet

Pisces is the zap zone for Sunday’s full blood moon lunar eclipse, so consider what you’re ready to reset. Be the first to say buh-bye as you dissolve distractions or wraiths draining your thoughts, energy, or life in any way. Yes, you can create a ritual by writing down and submerging, or visualising yourself placing your feelings about something you need to let go of, into water, then throwing out the water or hitting the flush button. There have been several months of resets aligned with the eclipses in your sign, and we only have a few more to go, so the story isn’t new. Take the opportunity to continue rewriting your journey, past, present, and future. With generous Jupiter throwing you all the luck, amplify the positive and move forward with your vision intact.

New Music Friday September 5: Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, LANY, Lizzo, Latto, Ice Spice and More

Happy New Music Friday! The weekend is here, which means more streaming, new playlists and the best that music has to offer — and ET has you covered for everything in between.

Justin Bieber is back with SWAG II. The 23-track project features production by Justin in collaboration with Carter Lang, Dylan Wiggins, Dijon, mk.gee, Daniel Chetrit, Eddie Benjamin, Mike Will, Camper and more. Justin’s seventh studio album, SWAG, debuted as the most consumed album worldwide, landing at #1 on the Top Streaming, Pop and R&B Album Charts, marking the 10th Billboard 200 Top 5 album of his career and his 50th Billboard Global 200 hit. The album topped both the Spotify and Apple Music Album Charts, reaching #1 over 100 territories globally.

Lady Gaga released the music video for her new single “The Dead Dance,” which she debuted this week on Netflix’s “Wednesday” Season 2 (Part 2). The project marks her first creative collaboration with director Tim Burton. She and fiance Michael Polansky produced the video alongside Tim and Natalie Testa. Lady Gaga made a cameo as the mysterious Rosaline Rotwood on “Wednesday.” She shared “the inspiration for ‘The Dead Dance’ was a breakup. and it was all about the way that we sometimes feel when it’s over; how a relationship ending can kill our ability to feel hopeful about love.” Lady Gaga will make her return to the MTV VMAs where she will perform live from Madison Square Garden.

Tate McRae will also take the VMAs main stage for the first time. She is up for 6 awards and is currently in the middle of her Miss Possessive Tour. She kicked off the North American leg of her sold out tour last month. The tour supports her third studio album, So Close To What, which was released earlier this year.

MTV announced a powerhouse tribute of Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler & Joe Perry, YUNGBLUD and Nuno Bettencourt, all coming together for a once-in-a-lifetime performance honoring the legendary Ozzy Osbourne, with a medley of his greatest hits. The MTV VMAs hosted by LL Cool J airs September 7 on CBS, MTV & stream on Paramount+.

The Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) announced it will honor music industry icons John Legend, Irving Azoff, Kai Cenat, Apple & Apple Music, Sherrese Clarke and Primary Wave Music at its fifth annual BMAC Gala taking place on September 18 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Mickey Guyton and Kenny Burns will host the event and celebrate the artists, executives, activists and brands who are using their platforms to advance equity and inspire change.
