The Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Bangkok is experiencing a dramatic turn of events. Just before ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand on November 21, Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie, president of the Miss Universe selection committee, has reportedly stepped down from her judging role. Miss Universe 2025 pageant is facing controversy with the resignation of three judges, including Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie, Omar Harfouch, and Claude Makélélé.(AP)

3rd judge dropped out just two days before pageant

This unexpected exit followed the resignations of Omar Harfouch and French soccer manager Claude Makélélé, adding to the controversy. Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie dropped out of judging just two days before the international pageant is set to take place, musician and former judge Omar was quoted as saying in a November 19 report by People.

Earlier, Omar resigned from the judging panel, alleging that an “impromptu jury” pre-selected the top 30 contestants without the original eight judges. He said this jury included individuals with personal relationships with contestants, raising concerns about fairness and transparency. Omar also stated he couldn’t “play with the destiny of young girls” and felt disrespected after discussing his concerns with Miss Universe CEO Raul Rocha.

Following Omar’s resignation, French soccer manager Claude Makélélé also stepped down, citing “unforeseen personal reasons”. Click here to know everything about their Miss Universe exits.

Miss Universe 2025 pageant is marred by controversy

To make matters worse, Miss Jamaica, DrGabrielle Henry, suffered a terrifying fall from the stage during the preliminary competition on November 19, prompting her to be rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, she’s reported to have no life-threatening injuries, but her participation in the finals is uncertain.

Earlier, the Miss Universe 2025 pageant made headlines following a clash between Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, and pageant organiser Nawat Itsaragrisil. During a livestreamed event, he allegedly called her ‘dumb’ after she missed a photoshoot, sparking a walkout by several contestants in protest.

These unexpected events have overshadowed the pageant’s glitz and glamour, leaving fans on social media in shock. Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Organisation has issued statements addressing the incidents, assuring that the November 21 event will proceed as planned.

BBC Resigning Director General on Trump Scandal: ‘Fight for Journalism’

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Outgoing BBC director general Tim Davie, who resigned on Sunday amid a scandal over documentary program “Panorama’s” editing of Donald Trump‘s Jan. 6 speech, addressed his staff at the broadcaster’s headquarters on Tuesday.

According to BBC News, Davie acknowledged during a 40-minute town hall alongside chair Samir Shah that “we did make a mistake” in the editing of Trump’s speech, but told staff: “I think we’ve got to fight for our journalism.”

He gave three reasons for his departure, including the scandal over the “Panorama” documentary on Trump as well as the BBC’s upcoming charter renewal in 2027 and the “relentless” nature of the role. He insisted that the BBC will “survive” his departure and said several times that he is “fiercely proud of this organization.”

A timeline for Davie’s departure was not given, but Shah said the BBC board was in “succession mode.” Davie said he has “no regrets” about his time at the BBC and “wouldn’t change a thing.” He did not address Trump’s $1 billion legal threat to the BBC, but said political pressures were “challenging.”

On Monday, Trump sent a letter to the broadcaster threatening to sue for $1 billion unless the episode of “Panorama” was retracted, he received a formal apology and payment to “appropriately compensate President Trump for the harm caused.”

Controversy erupted over the weekend after a leaked memo from former BBC Editorial Guidelines and Standards committee adviser Michael Prescott was published by The Telegraph suggesting that “Panorama” edited a Trump speech to make it sound like he encouraged the Jan. 6 riots. It resulted in the shocking resignations of both Davie and CEO of news Deborah Turness on Sunday night.

Prescott’s memo said “Panorama” edited Trump’s speech to be: “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be with you and we fight. We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not gonna have a country anymore.” Prescott wrote that Trump said the part beginning with “and we fight” 54 minutes after “we’re gonna walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be with you.”

On Monday, BBC chair Samir Shah  apologized for the edit in a letter to the U.K. culture, media and sport committee and called it an “error of judgement.” Speaking with the BBC’s Katie Razzall following the letter’s publication, Shah said that he has been in contact with Trump’s team and is considering personally apologizing to the president.

The BBC has been flanked by several other controversies this year, including a Gaza documentary that was found to be a “serious breach” of Ofcom’s broadcasting rules and its handling of controversy at Glastonbury Festival when it aired the punk duo Bob Vylan chanting “death to the IDF.”

Davie and Turness’ departure timeline and who exactly will replace them remains unclear.

bitchy | Mail: Duchess Meghan’s publicist quit, this is the royal scandal of the week!

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

It seems the British media is done talking about Prince Andrew’s depravity and all of the crimes he’s committed. They’ve successfully deflected everything to “should Andrew be kicked out of Royal Lodge” and “look, the Windsors are doing another dumb half-measure to punish Andrew.” Another key part of Operation Deflect From Andrew is the British press’s favorite standard: attacking the Duke and Duchess of Sussex no matter what. Throughout this week, Mail columnists have been trying to keep up the attacks, even as it became abundantly clear that the monarchy has done the most to protect a serial sexual predator for decades. “But Meghan went to Paris,” they cried. “But Meghan’s business is struggling, we swear!”

Well, the Mail’s Alison Boshoff has a new exclusive: Meghan lost another staffer! Back in June, the Sussexes did a major housecleaning on their comms team, letting go of some of their comms people and hiring Emily Robinson, who used to work for Netflix (and did publicity for The Crown). I said at the time that Meredith Maines – the comms guru who was hired in February – was probably behind all of the June streamlining. Well, now it looks like Emily Robinson has left the Sussexes’ employ!

The Duchess of Sussex has parted company with her tenth publicist in just five years after a big name she poached from Netflix quit after just three months. Emily Robinson joined Harry and Meghan’s team as director of communications in June, but she has already jumped ship.

Ms Robinson was always a controversial hire as she had worked on The Crown for years – a show which aired a number of damaging narratives about the Royal Family. The final series included scenes in which the ‘ghost’ of Princess Diana appeared to speak to The Queen and Prince Charles, which many found insensitive.

One friend of LA-based Robinson, who built up a reputation as a ‘tough cookie’ at Netflix, said: ‘It was her decision. She left a few weeks ago. She’s not a quitter, so things must have been pretty horrible for her to go.’

Ms Robinson’s LinkedIn profile does not currently include any reference to having worked with the couple, but other roles which she has held are listed.

Ms Robinson is at least the tenth publicist to leave the employ of Meghan and Harry since they left the UK for California five years ago (although two former publicists, James Holt and Miranda Barbot, have been promoted into non-PR roles). Remaining on their team are Liam Maguire, director of communications in Europe, and Meredith Maines, their chief communications officer. They met the King’s press secretary, Tobyn Andreae, this summer – which is thought to have paved the way for Prince Harry to briefly see his father last month.

The couple have suffered numerous PR disasters, most recently the duchess’s surprise trip to Paris Fashion Week.

[From The Daily Mail]

“…Most recently the duchess’s surprise trip to Paris Fashion Week…” Ah yes, the publicity disaster of “Meghan drawing global headlines for looking amazing at the Balenciaga show.” Obviously, that’s why Emily left! She was like, no, I cannot have my client getting so much attention at Paris Fashion Week! It’s far more likely that Robinson left for a better job, or maybe there’s another restructure happening within Archewell, especially with Meghan focusing so much on As Ever. I’m defending the Sussexes’ comms team FINALLY because this year, they’ve really turned things around. Some of us had begged them for years to be more responsive, and to not allow these evil f–king narratives to fester unchallenged. And this year, we saw those changes. I believe it’s because of Maines as well.

Chauncey Billups is making headlines in October 2025, but not for the highlights from his sports career. The Portland Trail Blazers coach — known for his history as a successful and high-net worth NBA star — was accused of being involved in illegal sports betting and gambling. More than 30 people were indicted by federal prosecutors for their alleged involvement in two separate cases related to fraudulent gambling and sports betting. The NBA placed Billups on leave from his team.

“We are in the process of reviewing the federal indictments announced today,” the NBA said in a statement that month. “Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups are being placed on immediate leave from their teams, and we will continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities. We take these allegations with the utmost seriousness, and the integrity of our game remains our top priority.”

Below, learn about Billups’ career on and off the court, his net worth and the allegations he faces.

Who Is Chauncey Billups?

Also nicknamed “Mr. Big Shot,” Billups is a former pro basketball player and a current NBA coach. He played for several teams during his career on the court, including for the Celtics, Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets, and Minnesota Timberwolves, before he landed with his long-term team, the Detroit Pistons, in 2002.

In 2004, Billups led the Pistons to an NBA championship. They defeated the favored Los Angeles Lakers in five games. As a result, Billups was named the Finals MVP, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s most consistent clutch performers.

After his time in Detroit, Billups had notable seasons with the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers before he retired in 2014. He played for the NBA for 17 years in total. Following his retirement, Billups switched gears to broadcasting before he became the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021.

How Much is Chauncey Billups Worth Now?

Despite his alleged involvement in the 2025 NBA sports betting and gambling controversy, Billups still has an estimated net worth of $35 million, per Celebrity Net Worth. During his nearly 20-year-long playing career, Billups earned about $107 million.

After being hired to lead the Portland Trail Blazers, Billups started earning a salary of a reported $4.75 million per year on a five-year contract.

Was Chauncey Billups Arrested? About His NBA Gambling Allegations

Billups was formally charged in allegedly participating in an illegal poker operation linked to the mafia, multiple outlets reported after the FBI held a press conference on October 23, 2025. Thirty people were indicted for their alleged involvement in two major schemes: one of them used insider information to place bets on NBA games, and the other centered on underground poker games with “high-tech cheating technology” used to steal millions of dollars from victims.

NBA star Terry Rozier is making headlines following his arrest as part of a sweeping federal gambling investigation. The FBI has described this probe as a “historic arrest” operation that involves current and former NBA personnel—including Rozier and veteran coach Chauncey Billups—and alleged connections to sports betting, rigged poker games and organized-crime families.

“We are here in New York to announce a historic arrest across a wide, sweeping criminal enterprise that envelops both the NBA and La Cosa Nostra,” FBI Director Kash Patel said at a news conference on October 23, 2025.

Amid the scandal, fans are also asking: what is Rozier’s net worth? Learn more about him and his financial standing below.

Who Is Terry Rozier?

Rozier is an American professional basketball player best known for his time in the NBA, most recently playing as a guard for the Miami Heat. Born on March 17, 1994, in Youngstown, Ohio, Rozier was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2015 before later joining the Charlotte Hornets and the Heat.

Known for his scoring ability and agility on the court, he earned the nickname “Scary Terry” during his breakout 2018 playoff run with the Celtics.

What Is Terry Rozier’s Net Worth?

As of 2025, Rozier’s net worth is estimated to be around $50 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

His wealth comes primarily from his NBA contracts and endorsement deals. In 2021, he signed a four-year, $97 million contract extension with the Charlotte Hornets before being traded to the Miami Heat in early 2024.

Why Was Terry Rozier Arrested?

In October 2025, Rozier was reportedly arrested in connection with the NBA’s ongoing gambling investigation, which has drawn national attention following similar controversies involving other athletes. According to reports, Rozier is accused of violating league rules related to sports betting and allegedly using insider information to place wagers.

The Hack producer on why phone-hacking scandal is “even more relevant” today

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Their work appears to be separate at first, concerning tabloid misbehaviour on one side and a still-unsolved murder on the other, but connective tissue becomes apparent as the story gradually unfolds.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com at the launch of the series, Williams (who also worked on Mr Bates vs The Post Office) acknowledged that the technology involved might seem antiquated now – but the core themes remain urgently current.

“Even though it’s set only about 12 years ago, part of it is to do with the hacking of voicemails, which feels quite analogue now,” he began.

“But I think, at the same time, it will hopefully remind people of how much they’re sharing with the item in their pocket and with bits of technology. And, of course, that’s even more the case now. It’s even more relevant.

“We’re sharing more and more stuff than people would have shared in their voicemails back then.”

While concerns over privacy have only grown since the practice of phone-hacking was stamped out, owing partly to the rise of big tech and online tracking, The Hack writer Jack Thorne thinks further probing of the scandal is required.

“[This story] hasn’t been given the opportunity to be investigated properly. Leveson was supposed to be in two parts… and Leveson 2 was supposed to be looking into criminality,” he said at a post-screening Q&A for The Hack.

Steve Pemberton as Rupert Murdoch and Jordan Renzo as James Murdoch in The Hack. ITV Studios / Stan

“It’s supposed to be looking into these relationships that were so problematic, and that inquiry was denied by the Conservative government. And then Labour said one of the things they were going to do is Leveson 2, and now they’ve shelved it.”

He concluded: “We need this painful itch properly scratched so that we can move on from it. Because it was extraordinary, and what it means about our institutions, about the country we live in… it really matters to look at it and look at it properly.”

The Hack features a starry ensemble cast, including Steve Pemberton (Inside No. 9), Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs The Post Office), Rose Leslie (Vigil) and Eve Myles (Coldwater), among others.

The Hack premieres on ITV1 and ITVX on Wednesday 24th September 2025.

Paula Deen's Downfall: What Happened After Scandal

Paula Deen’s Downfall: What Happened After Scandal

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Paula Deen was once the toast of Food Network, the Georgia grandmother’s butter-drenched home cooking and salty-sweet disposition a winning combination.

Until, that is, her own words came back to bite her.

Following the June 2013 release of a deposition in which Deen admitted to past use of a racial slur, she became persona non grata over the course of a week.

Deen made two emotional apology videos, but Food Network cut ties. Stores, including Walmart and Target, dropped her merchandise. Her publisher canceled the release of her latest book.

And, needless to say, Twitter (now X) feasted on the controversy.

But while some people never had a taste for what she was serving even before the scandal, and others simply lost their appetite, plenty of fans remained hungry for more and rallied to her defense.

Canceled: The Paula Deen Story, a new documentary premiering Sept. 6 at the Toronto International Film Festival, delves into Deen’s rise to fame, rapid downfall and eventual comeback, albeit with a smaller slice of the influence pie.
