Ryan Murphy’s All’s Fair: Every Outrageous Costume, Ranked

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Let’s be frank: We’re not watching All’s Fair for the plot. We’re watching to obsess over the stunning costumes that deserve their own exhibition at The Met. From sweeping capes to statement hats, money was clearly no object for the Ryan Murphy legal drama, which has delivered Hulu Originals’ biggest scripted series premiere in three years.

Costume designer Paula Bradley, who has worked with Murphy on American Horror Story and Monster: The Ed Gein Story, oversaw the show’s wardrobe, alongside her assistant, Shannon Campbell, and together they created something so magnificent, it kind of doesn’t matter what’s playing out on screen.

“I went to school to study fashion, and not costume designing,” Bradley told The Zoë Report. “My porn is watching people sewing, or the embroidery at Chanel or Dior, Schiaparelli sketches. And so Ryan comes and says, ‘It’s going to be a really high-end fashion show, and it’s going to be contemporary fashion, and this is going to be hard.’ My little heart is like, ‘Yes, yes. Pick me. Pick me.’”

Murphy picked right, because series stars Glenn Close, Kim Kardashian, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor, and Naomi Watts have never looked so incredible, which is saying something for the always-fashion forward stars.

Of course, All’s Fair doesn’t start off so fashion-forward, as the opening scene is set 10 years in the past. Kardashian’s Allura Grant, Watts’s Liberty Ronson, Nash-Bett’s Emerald Greene, Paulson’s Carrington Lane, and Close’s Dina Standish work at a male-dominated law firm, afraid to stand out. The suits are tailored, but drab, indicative of the frustrations the characters face on a daily basis. It isn’t until they open their own powerhouse practice that they’re truly free to shine.

The before.

The King Of Sarcasm Turns Villain! Ryan Reynolds Stars In Netflix’s Eloise With Amy Sherman-Palladino | Glamsham.com

Netflix is set to revive a timeless childhood favorite with a new live-action adaptation of Eloise, inspired by Kay Thompson’s beloved book series and Hilary Knight’s iconic illustrations. The streaming giant announced that Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino will direct and co-write the film, which stars young newcomer Mae Schenk as Eloise. Ryan Reynolds joins the project as both producer and actor, portraying a brand-new villain created specifically for the movie.

First published in 1955, Eloise follows a mischievous six-year-old who lives on the top floor of New York City’s famed Plaza Hotel. The character became a cultural icon for her wit, humor, and boundless imagination. The stories enjoyed renewed popularity in the 2000s with new books from Simon & Schuster and two Disney television films starring Sofia Vassilieva as Eloise and Julie Andrews as her nurturing nanny.

Although specific plot details for Netflix’s adaptation remain under wraps, the film is described as a fresh, original adventure inspired by the classic books. According to Hannah Minghella, Head of Feature Animation and Family Film at Netflix, “Eloise has been beloved for generations… It’s an honor to reintroduce this cherished character with two people who share her signature mischief and charm, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Ryan Reynolds.”

MRC Film co-presidents Jonathan Golfman and Brye Adler revealed that they have been developing the project for years, having first secured the rights in 2019. Partnering with Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, Sherman-Palladino, and Netflix, MRC aims to deliver a bold, hilarious, and heartfelt family film that blends the original spirit of Eloise with modern flair—bringing one of literature’s most iconic little girls to a whole new generation of viewers.

Ryan Seacrest has announced the death of his father Gary Seacrest aged 81.

Ryan Seacrest has announced the death of his father Gary Seacrest aged 81

Sharing a heartfelt tribute on social media, the 50-year-old radio and television presenter said Gary had died peacefully earlier in the week following a long battle with prostate cancer.

Ryan revealed the news on Friday (31.10.25), writing on Instagram: “It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that my loving father peacefully passed away earlier this week. My mom, sister and I have peace knowing he is in a better place and free of any pain or suffering. We are heartbroken.”

Ryan also called Gary “a devoted husband for 56 years, an incredible Papa to Flora, and my best friend”.

He added: “Dad you will live in our hearts forever. I love you.”

The American Idol host shared several photos alongside the message, showing moments with his father and their family, including his sister, Meredith Seacrest.

Ryan had previously spoken publicly about his father’s health battle.

In a 2021 Instagram post, he said Gary had been “battling cancer for several years”, though at the time doctors believed it was “no longer detectable”.

However, during a July broadcast of his radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, he revealed Gary’s cancer had returned and worsened.

He said that while undergoing chemotherapy, Gary also developed pneumonia, which left him in the intensive care unit for several weeks.

Ryan became emotional as he described the experience of watching his father suffer.

“When you see a parent suffering and when you see them going through this and you don’t understand it yourself, you’re just listening to all the different doctors and trying to make sense of what they’re trying to suggest and do,” he said during the July programme.

Ryan added: “I didn’t want to miss trying to understand who these people were that were taking care of my father.”

Gary’s wife, Connie Seacrest, has also battled cancer in the past and is now in remission.

Speaking on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Ryan said the disease “affects every one of us in some way, and it sucks”.

He added: “And the treatments suck… treatments are tough.”

Ryan, who described his father as his “best friend”, has often credited his parents for their support throughout his career in broadcasting, spanning radio, American Idol and television presenting.

bitchy | Ryan Coogler says he’s rebooting the X-Files because his mom is a fan

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

In March 2023 Ryan Coogler announced his Chris Carter-approved reboot of The X-Files, which will air on Disney+. I’m SO excited! Details have been scarce so far, but last week, rumors emerged that Danielle Deadwyler was the frontrunner for a starring role. Our last official update, however, came from Coogler’s Sinners promo tour back in May, when he revealed that he’d been in touch with Gillian Anderson and promised that some of the episodes would be “really f-king scary.”

Coogler was asked about the reboot during a Sinners screening last weekend. (It’s back in theaters for Halloween.) He’s still holding his cards close to his chest, but did reveal the reason why he took on The X-Files as his next project: he’s doing it for his mom, who is a huge fan.

Ryan Coogler made his first “Creed” film because his father Ira loved the “Rocky” franchise. Now it’s his mom Joselyn’s turn. Coogler tells me he signed on to reboot “The X-Files” because his mother was a big fan of the Fox sci-fi drama series.

“Like my relationship with ‘Rocky’ with my dad, ‘The X-Files’ is one of those things with my mom,” Coogler told me Friday at the Cinespia “Sinners” screening at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. “My mom means the world to me — she’s actually here tonight — so this is a big one for me. I want to do right by her and the fans. My mom has read some of the stuff I wrote for it. She’s fired up.”

As for rumors that Danielle Deadwyler is being eyed to star in the reboot, Coogler laughed, “I can neither confirm or deny.” The same goes for possible appearances by original “X-Files” stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.

[From Variety]

Rebooting The X-Files for his mom is a grade-A Mother’s Day/birthday/Christmas present. Like, how do you even top that? I also had no idea that Ryan made the new Rocky movies for his dad! That’s pretty awesome. He did such a good job with both of them, too. This just reaffirms my faith that his X-Files is going to be really good. You don’t want to disappoint your mom!

That said, I was underwhelmed by the “new” seasons that we got in 2016 and 2018. However, they were technically continuations of the original story and Ryan’s project is a straight-up reboot. Oh, I can’t wait! I hope the Danielle Deadwyler rumors are true because I’ve really liked her in everything I’ve seen her in so far. If we’re to presume that she’s playing the Scully-adjacent character, then who would we like to see as the Mulder-based one? I’m going with Manny Jacinto. If Star Wars doesn’t want him, then put him in a suit, give him a badge, and let us watch him uncover monsters, aliens, and government conspiracies in between throwing pencils at the ceiling.

Ryan Seacrest Reacts After Contestant’s ‘Awkward’ $61,000 Loss

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

A Wheel of Fortune contestant had an “awkward” loss during the Bonus Round, which resulted in them not taking home $61,000. Host Ryan Seacrest reacted to what happened after they could only figure out one word.

Cherie Noisette, from Oak Lawn, Illinois, played against Kaycee Hallett, from Oak Harbor, Ohio, and Roger Hapka, from Carlsbad, California, on Wednesday, October 15. Noisette is a consummate hostess and a former motorcycle rider.

Noisette solved the first toss-up and Hapka, a man deemed “Mr. Fix It”, solved the second. Noisette took the lead when she solved the first puzzle, which was a crossword in the category “Miami.” She solved “Dolphins,” “Beaches,” and “Vice” for $12,350. She also solved the next puzzle — “Snuck Snacks Into a Movie Theater” — and obtained a Wild card and $17,350.

During the Prize Puzzle round, she landed on the Express Wedge and guessed a “D,” but since it wasn’t in the puzzle, she went Bankrupt and had to get rid of her Wild Card. Hapka solved “Top-Notch Fishing” and won a trip to Tampa Bay, Florida, giving him a total of $13,680.

Noisette solved two of the three triple toss-ups, giving her $4,000. Hapka solved the last one, giving him $2,000 more. Hallett, a comic book fan, finally got on the board when she solved the final puzzle — “Flamingos” — for $3,200.

“I’m so happy for you!” Seacrest said. “I was crossing my fingers.”

Hapka ended with $15,680. The big winner was Noisette with $21,350, and she advanced to the Bonus Round, where she picked “Phrase.” The game show contestant brought her aunt and two of her cousins with her.

After being given “R,S,T,L,N, and E,” Noisette chose “D,M,H, and A.” Her puzzle then looked like “_ _ND  _ _   A_ _ _ARD.”

As the clock counted down, she guessed “Something Awkward,” but couldn’t guess the beginning of it.

“Well, it’s ‘Kind of Awkward’,” Seacrest chuckled. “Nice try!” He showed her the $40,000 in the envelope, which would have given her a total of $61,350. “That’s alright!”

“That was… just like that awkward to lose out on the $40,000,” a YouTube user said.

“This has been going on since Thursday, and it’s a kind of awkward situation. The answer to today’s puzzle tells the story,” wrote another.

“Ugh, I had no idea also,” added a third.

‘How Dare You Watch Serial Killer Shows,’ Says Serial Killer Show

Ian Brennan’s latest attempt to humanize a notorious serial killer — this time with Charlie Hunnam provoking pity for ‘the Butcher of Plainfield’ — insists the only reason such nauseating horror shows exist at all is because of the people watching, aka the real sickos.

Ryan Murphy on Menendez Parole, Luigi Mangione and Monster

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Few shows over the past few years can be said to have had as much impact as Netflix’s “Monster.”

In interviews for a Variety cover story about Charlie Hunnam, the star of show’s new season about serial killer Ed Gein, “Monster” co-creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan reflected on the phenomenon of the second season about Erik and Lyle Menendez. As that installment blew up in fall 2024, a new generation of viewers discovered the Menendezes’ story, including their claims that their parents, whom they were convicted of killing, had abused them. Both Menendez brothers remain in prison after having been denied parole in August of this year, and, in September, a judge denied their petition for a new trial. Even still, the calls for them to be released have grown deafening — including from Murphy himself.

“I do wish they had been paroled,” says Murphy, “and when I started working on it, I thought the complete opposite. I thought, Nope, kill your parents, stay in jail.” Continuing to consider their case has shifted Murphy’s thinking. “I feel this about the prison system in general: What good does it do to keep people just sitting in jail? They could get out of prison and do something constructive with their lives. I don’t agree with the parole board that they’re a danger to their community — I don’t think that’s true.”

Co-creator Brennan was similarly dismayed that the Menendezes remain incarcerated. “I was surprised, and I was sad, even though my feelings about them are completely mixed,” he says. “I really thought it was going to go there because of this groundswell — people returning to that story 30 years later with a different set of cultural priors.” (Brennan notes that male sexual abuse, which the Menendezes say they suffered at home, is better understood today.)

“The state of California has no interest in keeping them behind bars at this point,” Brennan continues. “That verges on a kind of cruelty that I don’t quite understand.”

Brennan takes care to note that he has never interacted with the brothers, and the Menendezes, at first, were put out by what they understood to be the show’s depiction of them. Erik Menendez issued a statement from prison, when the season of “Monster” about his family debuted, declaring that the show was “rooted in horrible and blatant lies” and “disheartening slander.” Months later, though, Lyle credited the show with “shining a light” on their story and said he and his brother were “grateful.” Murphy wasn’t surprised.

“We’ve always felt wildly misunderstood about this show, from day one,” Murphy says. The Jeffrey Dahmer season, he says, was intended to be about father-son relationships and about social justice, as epitomized by Niecy Nash-Betts’s character. “That was the beating heart of the show. When the show came out, nobody wrote about that at all,” he says. “It was just a constant stream of ‘How dare they, it’s so exploitative.’ I found the same thing with ‘Menendez.’ The show had aired for three days, and Erik Menendez and his wife were speaking out against the show, although he would later come out and say ‘I was wrong, it really did help us.’ I found that interesting.”

The Gein season, like the Dahmer and Menendez seasons before it, sets out to, as Murphy says, “provoke the question” — in this case, to address the roots of America’s ongoing mental-health crisis through the story of a high-profile sufferer of mental illness. Those kind of stories are what fuel the show’s run; other stories, Murphy and Brennan say, they’ve ruled out.

John Wayne Gacy, Brennan says, has “nothing redemptive” in his story: “The second the name comes up for us, every year, both of us go, No. There’s no pathos.” The Golden State Killer has a similar chilling effect on brainstorming. And Ted Bundy sparks nothing in Murphy: “When you look at those crimes,” he asks rhetorically, “what are the themes there? It doesn’t ask you any questions about society. It feels too murderous — not interesting enough.”

Other stories just aren’t ready yet. “We have a ‘maybe one day’ file,” Murphy says, noting that he’s considered a “Monster” season about Luigi Mangione, the accused killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, but deemed it too early in the narrative to proceed. “We know nothing about him,” he says. “There was nothing to write — we didn’t have information yet. Maybe something will come out in the trial.”

Beyond Gein, the pair are already preparing a fourth season, which will feature Ella Beatty as purported axe murderer Lizzie Borden. “It’s a female ‘Monster’ season,” Murphy says. “It talks not just about Lizzie, but other infamous women who were branded as monsters.” (He cites Countess Elizabeth Báthory, a Hungarian noble accused of torture and murder at the turn of the 17th century, and Aileen Wuornos, executed for serial murder in 2002.) “There’s many different monsters that float through the season. This has the same approach: Profiling famous women who have been labeled as one thing, and we ask the question: Really, do you think so?”

EXCLUSIVE: Voltage Pictures has acquired international rights to the high-concept horror slasher The Him from Joe Gossett (Catch Hell, Revenger). The film, which Gossett, wrote and directed, is currently in post with international sales now underway.

Pic stars Chris Elliott (There’s Something About Mary, Groundhog Day, Cabin Boy), Roxy Sophie Sorkin, Asya Miller, Mindy Cohn (Palm Royale, Billy Knight, Mother Father Sister Brother Frank) and Ryan Phillippe (Crash, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Shooter).

In The Him, a family’s elaborate Halloween display becomes a genuine massacre when a silent killer turns their home into a house of horrors—while unsuspecting crowds cheer, believing it’s the best show in town.

Pic is produced by Andrea Bucko (Alpha Gang, Dead Man’s Wire, Longlegs) of Sugar Rush Pictures and Cassian Elwes (Dallas Buyers Club, Mudbound, Lawless) of Elevated Films, alongside Joel Michaely, Veronica Radealli, and Michael Mammoliti. “The film takes the audience’s love of immersive horror and turns it on its head—what if the show you’re cheering for is real? It’s a terrifying concept that will leave people talking for a long time” said Alexandra Cocean, President of Global Sales and Distribution at Voltage Pictures.

Bucko of Sugar Rush Pictures added, “The Him is a chilling reimagining of the slasher genre, masterfully blending intimate family dynamics with the spine-tingling suspense of classic horror.” She continued, “Joe Gossett has crafted the film that strikes a powerful contrast between the comfort of normal life and the brutal intrusion of violence, creating a one-of-a-kind fusion of suspense and terror with its unforgettable blend of psychological horror and shocking twists.”

Elwes of Elevated Films said, “The Him is a remarkable and unsettling film that pushes the boundaries of the slasher genre.  Joe Gossett has crafted something truly original—The Him will leave audiences haunted long after the credits roll.”

Producers Elwes and Bucko most recently premiered Gus Van Sant’s Dead Man’s Wire out of competition at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, where the movie’s North American rights were acquired by frosh distributor, Row K Entertainment.

Ryan Seacrest Shares Update on Friendship With Kelly Ripa After Live! Departure (Exclusive)

Ryan Seacrest isn’t going anywhere.

The longtime American Idol host will return to emcee the singing competition reality series’ upcoming ninth season on ABC (season 24 overall), the network announced Sept. 9.

The news of Seacrest’s return comes two weeks after ABC revealed judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie will all be back next season to help find America’s next music superstar.

Underwood—who won season four in 2005—made her debut as a judge last season, while Richie and Bryan have been mainstays since 2018.

In between pulling double duty hosting Idol and Wheel of Fortune over the past year, Seacrest has also been dealing with personal struggles following a family health scare. Earlier this summer, the 50-year-old got candid about his father Gary Seacrest‘s prostate cancer battle and even revealed the 81-year-old contracted pneumonia while undergoing chemotherapy.

Recounting his sister Meredith Seacrest Leach calling him while he was on the Idol set working last year, he shared on his radio show in July, “She said, ‘Dad is in the ICU. How fast can you get here?'”
