If you could survive against those goons, so can they…” Paramount has launched the second official trailer for the sci-fi action movie The Running Man, the next new Edgar Wright movie after Last Night in Soho in 2021. Landing in theaters this November – exactly one month from now. Based on the 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) – it is the second adaptation of the book following that 80s movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Set in a dystopian future, a game show called “The Running Man” has people chased by murderous Hunters across the world to win money. Ben Richards is willing to go the distance in this ultimate game of life and death… This new 2025 version stars Glen Powell as Ben, with Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo. This is the best trailer yet! Looks like a blast! All the explosive traps set in the house seen at the end of this trailer look like so much ridiculous fun. I really hope Powell wins the game.

Set in an oppressive future where the government controls the media, Ben Richards (starring Glen Powell) volunteers to participate in a deadly game show, which will see him hunted by professional killers over 30 days. Should he survive, he’ll win a cash prize that will help save his sick child and lift his family out of a horrid living situation. The Running Man is directed by acclaimed British genre filmmaker Edgar Wright, director of the films A Fistful of Fingers, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The World’s End, Baby Driver, and Last Night in Soho recently, plus The Sparks Brothers doc. The screenplay is written by Edgar Wright and Michael Bacall (of Scott Pilgrim, Project X, 21 & 22 Jump Street). Based on the 1982 sci-fi novel “The Running Man” from writer Stephen King. At a recent award night held in Ahmedabad, a light-hearted moment on stage stirred more than just laughter when Shah Rukh Khan made a cheeky remark at co-host Karan Johar. During the event, SRK made comments on Karan’s transformed physique, hinting at his significant weight loss, and jokingly mentioned the popular weight loss drug ‘Ozempic’, to which KJo had the perfect comeback.

The filmmaker took a sly shot in return, weaving in the name ‘Wankhede’, a clear reference to the controversy surrounding Sameer Wankhede, the former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official who has been in the media spotlight due to a recent lawsuit against SRK’s son Aryan Khan’s show The Ba***ds Of Bollywood.

SRK was seen asking Karan, “Bahaut alag lag rahe ho,” to which Karan responded with, “Zyada exercise karne laga hoon aajkal.” SRK then asked, “Oh, you’re working out, are you planning to go for Ozempic?” instantly correcting himself, “Ahh Olympics”, leaving Karan speechless.

Karan, known for his witty comebacks, said, “Haan, Wankhede mein hai Olympics. Aaoge?” In interviews following his weight loss, KJo has consistently pushed back against rumours that he used Ozempic or similar medications, attributing his transformation to health, medical adjustments, and lifestyle discipline. He has said, “That’s a lot of work, and it’s not medication like the rumor suggests” and emphasized his commitment to being “healthy, eating well, and exercising.”

Popular sports commentator Stephen A. Smith speculated that if he ever threw his hat in the presidential ring, he might tap Governor Wes Moore of Maryland as his running mate. But he was clear — a formal run is “highly unlikely.”
