“Doesn’t matter how much many you make, it’s never enough.” “I’ll know when I have enough…” Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first official trailer for a California crime thriller called Crime 101, another strangely basic titled for a film that looks more complex than it sounds. It’s set for a theatrical release in February 2026 on account of this excellent cast. The film is centered on detective Lou Lubesnick, played by Ruffalo, tracking a complex jewel thief who is adhering to the “Crime 101” rules – a strict set of guidelines for the perfect heist without ever being caught. The 101 is also a reference to the location along the iconic 101 freeway – California’s Pacific Coast Highway. Based on Don Winslow’s short story of the same name. As the big multimillion-dollar heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all of the players are forced to confront the cost of their choices – and the realization that there’s no turning back. The fabulous full cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo as the detective, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, with Nick Nolte and Halle Berry. This looks like it might actually be an intriguing, exciting thriller with some clever twists & turns. Will they finally catch him?

Set against the sun-bleached grit of Los Angeles, Crime 101 weaves the tale of an elusive thief (Chris Hemsworth) whose high-stakes heists unfolding along the iconic 101 freeway have mystified police. When he eyes the score of a lifetime with hopes of this being his final job, his path collides with a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) who is facing her own crossroads, forcing them to collaborate. Determined to crack the case, a relentless detective (Mark Ruffalo) closes in on the operation, raising the stakes even higher. As the multimillion-dollar heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all three are forced to confront the cost of their choices–and the realization that there’s no turning back. Crime 101 is written and directed by British producer / writer / filmmaker Bart Layton, director of the films The Imposter and American Animals previously, plus a few other TV movies. Adapted from Don Winslow’s acclaimed novella of the same name. Produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Derrin Schlesinger, Dimitri Doganis, Bart Layton, Shane Salerno, Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Grayson. Amazon MGM Studios debuts Crime 101 in theaters nationwide starting on February 13th, 2026 early next year. Look any good?

Mark Ruffalo Saved Woody Harrelson From ‘Disastrous’ Bar Fight

by jummy84 October 15, 2025

Mark Ruffalo revealed on the “Where Everybody Knows Your Name” podcast that he saved Woody Harrelson from an epic bar fight when the two were in New Orleans filming 2013’s “Now You See Me,” Louis Leterrier’s heist thriller about a group of illusionists who carry out robberies. Ruffalo played an FBI agent trying to capture the group.

“We were shooting ‘Now You See Me’ in New Orleans, completely on the streets. Totally wild,” Ruffalo said (via Entertainment Weekly). “Capturing stuff on a long lens, getting dragged into bars during the middle of a scene, like in the middle of Mardi Gras.”

Ruffalo and Danson stayed out after filming wrapped for the day and went to “a packed place” to grab a drink when things escalated.

“A woman came up to [Woody] and she said, ‘Oh my God, I love you so much,’” Ruffalo said. “Woody put his hand on her arm and he said, ‘Oh, thank you. Thank you, darling.’ And this guy comes over and he pushes her outta the way, and he shoves Woody. Bad. Because Woody’s first response is not ‘shove someone back,’ but ‘immediately punch them in the face.’ Which is the right thing to do, by the way. It’s the absolute right thing to do. But then a whole melee broke out in this bar. I was in the middle of it and it was turning into a— it was getting to become a whole thing… And I grabbed [Woody].”

“I grabbed [Woody] and I pulled him out,” Ruffalo continued. “Because I was like, ‘This could be fun, but it also just could go so disastrously wrong because you and I might be able to handle ourselves but the rest of the folks we were with… I don’t think so.”

Ruffalo and Harrelson starred in “Now You See Me” alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Mélanie Laurent, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and more. The movie was a box office hit with $351 million worldwide and spawned a franchise that led to 2016’s “Now You See Me 2” and the upcoming “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” in theaters Nov. 14.

“You are safe. All of the feelings are safe…” Mubi has revealed their official trailer for a family drama series called Hal & Harper, the latest from indie filmmaker Cooper Raiff, following his two films Shithouse and Cha Cha Real Smooth. Hal & Harper premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in their new Series section, and also played at the Tribeca Film Festival, despite not being a film (I know, I know, everyone is premiering series nowadays). Hal & Harper & Dad chart the evolution of their family… From Cooper Raiff comes Hal & Harper, an 8-episode series about siblings Hal and Harper, whose lifelong closeness is both their comfort and their curse. When their father announces he’s having a baby with his girlfriend, the two must confront their past & the codependent bond shaping their adult lives. With Lili Reinhart, Cooper Raiff, Mark Ruffalo as their Dad, Betty Gilpin as his new girlfriend, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Asher Alexander, Addison Timlin, and Havana Rose Liu. This looks sweet and charming, more emotional than comedic with heartfelt performances. This has great reviews from the fests – tune in later this month.

Mark Ruffalo Says Disney Stock Will Drop if Jimmy Kimmel Live! Cancels

Mark Ruffalo is speaking out again on Jimmy Kimmel‘s suspension by ABC.

Ruffalo took to Threads on Saturday to re-share a post that alleged Disney‘s stock price has dropped seven percent following the late night talk show being suspended earlier this week.

“It’s going to go down a lot further if they cancel his show,” Ruffalo wrote. “Disney does not want to be the ones that broke America.”

On Wednesday, ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! was preempted indefinitely following the host’s comments about Charlie Kirk’s murder and the shooting suspect. “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during his opening monologue on Monday night.

Following the suspension, Ruffalo previously spoke out about Kimmel in a No Kings online event. “My industry doesn’t really understand what’s happening right now, but what they do understand is our freedom of speech is being attacked,” he said. Several other Marvel stars like Pedro Pascal, Marisa Tomei, and Tatiana Maslany also spoke out after the news broke.

The four-time Oscar-nominated actor has famously appeared as Bruce Banner/the Hulk in many of Disney’s MCU projects, such as The Avengers films, Thor: Ragnarok, She Hulk and more. Next up, he’s set to be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will hit theaters July 31, 2026.

Earlier this month, Ruffalo spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about reprising his role and how he’s looking forward to working with Jon Bernthal, who plays the Punisher. “If I’m doing that — which the rumors are that I am, once I get a script, I’ll know it’s real — but I love him and we have a common friend in Lena Dunham, believe it or not, (laughs) who just adores him,” Ruffalo said. “I can’t wait to work with him, he’s so funny and he’s such a great actor. He plays that character like nobody else. I’m really excited to meet him, I’ve never met him!”
