I Went Halves on My Engagement Ring—And It Felt Completely Romantic

Last weekend, my partner and I got engaged. (Eek! Yay! Champagne bottle emoji!) Getting engaged is something we’ve been talking about doing for a while—yes, I knew it was coming. And I’m glad I did, because it meant I could book a manicure and plan my ‘fit. It also meant I could help choose the ring. We settled on a truly stunning (IMO) vintage emerald and diamond ring from Rock N’ Rose. And when it came to making the purchase, it seemed only natural that we would split the bill.

When I tell people that my partner and I decided to go halves on my engagement ring, it tends to elicit a wide range of responses: a raised, suspicious eyebrow. An “Oh, that’s… interesting.” Maybe even a thinly veiled look of pity.

It’s not that I expect absolutely everyone to go halvsies. Obviously, many women may not want to—and that’s fine! But I’m always a little surprised by these reactions. I had assumed that splitting the cost of the ring was something a lot of us modern women might be doing. It felt fair, feminist; a symbol of our partnership rather than a reminder of some kind of outdated gendered imbalance.

After all, things have moved on quite a lot when it comes to equality in male-female romantic relationships in the UK. For one thing, it has become the norm for both men and women to work. Research from ClearScore suggests that most couples are making an effort to contribute equally when it comes to finances: 40% of couples split their bills proportionately to income, while 51% split everything 50/50. Admittedly, there is still a long way to go when it comes to the division of labour, with women reportedly doing 36 hours of household tasks per week, while men do an average of 25. Nevertheless, this is an improvement on the zero hours that (many) men were doing 50 years ago.

However, despite this general push to make heterosexual coupledom more equal, surprisingly few couples make the same decision to go halves when it comes to the engagement ring. According to a 2023 study, 94% of partners who did the proposing paid for the engagement ring in full, and only 2% of couples reportedly decided to split the cost of the ring.

Then again, the more I think about it, these stats kind of check out. My algorithm (which has cottoned on to the fact that I’m getting engaged) is filled with a surprising number of young women who seem to believe pretty fervently that the ring should be something that the man and only the man pays for. And, even more strange, the general line of thinking seems to be: the bigger the ring he can buy, the better the man.

Top romantic films of Salman Khan

written by jummy84

Bollywood has given many romantic heroes, but few have captured hearts the way Salman Khan has. From his boyish charm in his early films to the intense, emotional love stories of later years, Salman’s on-screen romances have always struck a chord with audiences. Whether it’s innocent first love, playful flirtation, or deep, soul-stirring emotions, his films celebrate every shade of romance, making him one of the most beloved icons of love in Indian cinema.

1. Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)
2. Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994)
3. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999)
4. Saajan (1991)
5. Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998)
6. Tere Naam (2003)
7. Khamoshi The Musical (1996)
8. Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998)
9. Lucky No Time for Love (2005)
10. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015)

1. Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)

Salman Khan’s journey as Bollywood’s most loved romantic hero began with this timeless classic. As Prem, he embodied everything a lover should be gentle, honest and full of pure emotion. The story follows Prem and Suman, two youngsters whose friendship blossoms into love. Their relationship faces challenges because of class differences, but their trust and innocence make the story unforgettable. The simplicity of their love, the shy glances, the stolen moments, and the way they stand by each other touched millions of hearts. Songs like Dil Deewana and Kabootar Ja Ja Ja became the heartbeat of a generation in love.

2. Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

This film redefined romance in Indian cinema. Salman’s portrayal of Prem showed how love can exist within laughter, family, and sacrifice. His chemistry with Madhuri Dixit as Nisha was tender and full of warmth. They fall in love during family celebrations, surrounded by joy, music, and laughter. What made this romance special was how selfless it was, Prem puts family before his own happiness, showing that real love is not only about holding on but also about letting go. Their emotional connection in scenes like Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai still brings a smile to every romantic’s face.

3. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

This film remains one of Salman’s most heartfelt love stories. He plays Sameer, a carefree and passionate man who falls deeply in love with Nandini, played by Aishwarya Rai. Their chemistry was electric, playful in the beginning and heartbreakingly emotional later. The way they look at each other, laugh together, and share quiet moments of affection make this film feel alive with emotion. When destiny separates them, the pain in Salman’s eyes says everything about true love. Songs like Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan and Tadap Tadap captured the joy and ache of love perfectly.

4. Saajan (1991)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

A soulful story of love and sacrifice. Salman plays a charming poet, Aman, who falls in love with Pooja, played by Madhuri Dixit. But when his best friend also loves her, he quietly steps back. His love is deep, mature, and selfless. The film beautifully portrays how love doesn’t always mean possession, sometimes it’s about wishing happiness for the one you adore. Songs like Bahut Pyar Karte Hain and Dekha Hai Pehli Baar carry the essence of gentle, old-school romance that never fades.

5. Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

This film captured the playful and passionate side of love. Salman’s character, Suraj, falls for Muskaan, played by Kajol, but faces challenges from her protective brother. It’s filled with fun, laughter and sweet romantic tension. The film shows how love can be bold yet pure with Salman’s charm and Kajol’s innocence creating the perfect balance. Their moments together feel spontaneous, and the youthful energy of their love makes it one of Salman’s most enjoyable romances. Tum Par Hum Hai Aatke Yaara and O O Jaane Jaana are songs that still bring back memories of carefree love.

6. Tere Naam (2003)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

One of Salman’s most emotional and tragic love stories. He plays Radhe, a man rough on the outside but deeply emotional inside. His love for Nirjara, played by Bhoomika Chawla, transforms him completely. The innocence in her eyes and his raw, uncontrollable love create an intensity that few films have matched. It’s a story where love heals, hurts, and ultimately breaks. The songs Tumse Milna and Tere Naam became emotional anthems for a generation that believed in love beyond limits. Salman’s performance was powerful, showing love’s most painful yet beautiful side.

7. Khamoshi The Musical (1996)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

A poetic and deeply emotional love story directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Salman plays Raj, a warm-hearted man who falls in love with Annie, played by Manisha Koirala. Their romance grows quietly but deeply as music becomes the language of their love. The film speaks of faith, acceptance, and emotional strength. Salman’s gentle love and patience make this one of his most mature romantic roles. Every glance and every gesture in this film feels heartfelt and real, showing love as a quiet but powerful emotion.

8. Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

A sweet and light romantic film where Salman plays a carefree young man who finally finds true love. His character’s journey from being a flirt to someone who learns what love and responsibility mean gives the film depth and emotion. His chemistry with Twinkle Khanna was refreshing and soft. The film’s moments of realization and tenderness, along with songs like Pehli Pehli Baar Mohabbat Ki Hai make it a memorable love story about change and devotion.

9. Lucky No Time for Love (2005)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

Set in the snow-covered landscapes of Russia, this film has a serene and dreamy quality. Salman plays a protective, mature man who finds love with a young girl, Lucky, during a time of chaos and danger. Their bond grows slowly, built on care, safety, and emotional warmth. It’s not about loud declarations of love but about small, silent gestures that say everything. The music, visuals, and emotions make it feel like a fairytale where love blooms even in the most unexpected moments.

10. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015)

Salman Khan as Bollywood’s Romantic Hero

Salman’s return as Prem reminded everyone why he is Bollywood’s ultimate romantic hero. In this royal family drama, his character’s love for Princess Maithili, played by Sonam Kapoor, is full of respect, purity, and calm emotion. There’s innocence in the way he looks at her, speaks to her, and stands by her. The film beautifully blends grand visuals with heartfelt love, proving that romance doesn’t always need intensity – sometimes, it just needs sincerity.

‘High Potential’ Boss Breaks Down Morgan’s Romantic Spark, Karadec’s Threat to Wagner, and More Midseason Finale Twists (Exclusive)

by jummy84 October 29, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • High Potential showrunner Todd Harthan teases what fans can expect from the show’s midseason return in 2026.
  • After a cliffhanger conclusion, Harthan teases more romance for Morgan, tension between Karadec and Wagner.
  • The Roman mystery also continues to thicken as Harthan hints at what’s next for Morgan’s missing ex.

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for High Potential, Season 2 Episode 7, “The One That Got Away.”]

High Potential‘s second season has reached its midseason finale, leaving fans on a cliffhanger that won’t be resolved until Season 2 returns on January 6, 2026, but thankfully, showrunner Todd Harthan is making sure fans are fed until then, as we caught up with the writer and executive producer timed to the latest episode, “The One That Got Away.”

As fans saw in the installment, Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) and the LAPD were called in to investigate the case surrounding a piece of stolen art. Also on the case? The mysterious and suave Rhys (Aiden Turner), an art dealer and consultant who sparks Morgan’s curiosity. As the investigation unfolds, Morgan is drawn closer and closer to Rhys, even sharing a passionate moment in a hotel room, which raises red flags when she begins to believe he is responsible for stealing the art.

Meanwhile, Morgan’s daughter Ava (Amirah J) gets closer to Arthur (Mekhi Phifer) as they plot out their team-up to dig into Roman’s case, in juxtaposition with Soto’s (Judy Reyes) ongoing search for the missing man that Captain Wagner (Steve Howey) has become aware of, much to Karadec’s (Daniel Sunjata) dismay.

While the missing art case remained unsolved, there were more than a few mysteries left unresolved. Below, Harthan offers some clarity as he teases what fans can expect in the new year.

Disney / Mitch Haaseth

This episode ends on a cliffhanger with the case set to continue next year in the midseason premiere. What made you decide to make it a continuing storyline?

Todd Harthan: When our wonderful director Nancy Hower read the script, it was originally just a one-partner, and admittedly a little long, and she goes, “Oh, what if we added some more twists and turns, another red herring, and really expanded this?” Because what she identified was the DNA of this episode was so different than how we started the season with the Game Maker. The tone of it was more fun. It was more Thomas Crown Affair. We were introducing a character, a consultant-turned-suspect, that Morgan was going to be drawn to in a mysterious way, which also felt worth sort of extending in a delicious way. So it was just one of those things that happened in real time, and then we got Aiden, who is a wonderful actor, to play the part. It was one of those things where it just started to make sense, and once we knew we were going to leave the audience wanting more, that was a deciding factor.

Morgan connects with this art dealer, Rhys, and it’s the first time we’ve seen her have a romantic entanglement since Tom (JD Pardo) in Season 1. Should fans buy into the potential she has with this guy, or is it a fleeting thing, considering he’s seemingly a criminal?

Well, I think when we were looking for someone to play this role, we didn’t want someone smarmy. We needed somebody who was charming, smart. What would Morgan be drawn to? So, again, it’s sort of like The Thomas Crown Affair because it really was sort of the seed of inspiration for this, and you think about Pierce Brosnan in that movie; he was just almost too hard to resist. And so we needed to find that actor who had that level of confidence and charm without it being arrogant, and [Aiden]’s like that in person too. He just has a natural easiness about him when he walks into a room. And so that translated to the fictional character he’s playing.

You’ll see in the premiere next year that not everything is as it seems. It certainly feels like this guy is the guy, but there are some things coming that are going to really make Morgan go, “Wait, is he a criminal?” Lots of people have scars, and is it a coincidence? We’re going to play with all those elements in the premiere. And I think the finish is super surprising in the second part. You have to wait and see, but he was wonderful and they had great chemistry, and we’ve been very fortunate [to have] our pick of really amazing actors.

Steve Howey in 'High Potential'

Disney / Mitch Haaseth

Building off of that, Morgan is torn over who the painting belongs to, especially since it was stolen in the past as well as now. Is that going to continue to play into the case?

Yes, a hundred percent. It’s a through line that carries into the second hour, and I think if we’re going to set something up like that, the history of that painting, the importance of it, who it originally belonged to, it’s not a ball you want to drop.

Captain Wagner reveals that he knows the LAPD is investigating Roman’s whereabouts. How will that impact Soto’s forward movement with that case, especially after Karadec’s threat to Wagner that he isn’t allowed to mess with Morgan on that end?

Well, one of the things we’re playing with Wagner is, is he an ally or an enemy, right? Because we toggle in every episode. You’re like, “Wait, is he here to have our backs or is he going to stab us in the back?” And I think that’s a question we want to ask until we get to the back half of the season. That’s the question Soto is asking herself, which is, he’s in the know, does that mean he’s going to be the wind at our backs and help us, or is he going to out us or impede the investigation? Shut it down? He has the power to do that, so what role will he play? And those are the things we’re unpacking in an interesting twisty turny way when we come back.

As the Roman mystery continues to unfold, will Arthur and Ava play a more active role, as we saw them plotting a team-up?

Yeah, Mekhi’s been awesome, and he’s infused into the back half of the season as we sort of continue to unpack more and more about what happened to Roman all those years ago. And for Ava, she’s her mother’s daughter, there’s just no way for her to lie her head down at night and not be thinking about now that she knows her dad’s out there somewhere and he is alive, where is he? So it’s hard to contain that drive. And even Morgan’s going to struggle with it in the back half of how do I help us? And mostly, she’s doing this to get answers for her daughter. How do I help us get those answers, but not put her in a situation that is dangerous? We’re playing with all those different complications in the back half.

Karadec’s words to Wagner are interesting. Will they be adversaries moving forward?

In the back half, those guys are oil and water, and they just can’t agree on anything when it relates to how they work with and manage Morgan, their approach to law enforcement, and just their ideologies in life in general. They just could not be more different. That’s fun to write to because one of them says the sky is blue, and the other one is like, “No, it’s not, and here’s why.” And that really starts to fuel tension, conflict, all the things that we want. Karadec’s a protector by nature, and it’s less about protecting himself. This is his department, these are his people, and he feels like they’re kind of being threatened on some levels. So he’s sticking his neck out in the back half. He really is. He’s saying some things, some truth to power that could really get him in trouble, but it’s been fun to watch and fun to write to.

Morgan continues to push boundaries. Is that going to come back to bite her at some point?

She gets burned, and she gets burned in a major way in the back half. It all comes to a head, and we have a wonderful episode that we just shot, kind of built around that. But I think the fun thing about Morgan is she’s never going to change. She’s not going to suddenly show up and be like, “Okay, I’ll follow all the rules to the letter.” She’s just going to get better at how she goes about it. But yeah, it gets crazy and messy pretty early on in the back half.

Charlie Heaton, Mia Wasikowska to Lead Romantic Comedy ‘Twice Over’

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Charlie Heaton (“Stranger Things,” “The Souvenir Part II,” “The New Mutants”) and Mia Wasikowska (“Bergman Island,” “Club Zero,” “Alice in Wonderland”) are set to star in romantic comedy “Twice Over,” which Athens-based boutique sales company Heretic has boarded for international sales.

The feature, directed by Alena Lodkina, is an Australian production set to shoot on location in Perth at the end of this year. The film is in pre-production and is supported by Screen Australia. It is described as “an intimate, quietly offbeat story of reconnection and emotional reckoning.”

The film, co-written by Lodkina with Miles Allinson, follows two people whose unexpected reunion stirs long-buried feelings and unspoken uncertainties about love, time and reinvention.

“Twice Over” has been cast by BAFTA and Emmy award winning casting director Shaheen Baig (“Adolescence,” “Black Mirror”).

Acclaimed cinematographer J-P Passi, whose work includes “Compartment No. 6,” “The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki,” “The Last of Us” and “Chernobyl,” is attached to the project.

Lodkina’s previous features – “Strange Colours” (Venice Biennale College at the Venice Film Festival, 2017) and “Petrol” (Locarno Film Festival, 2022; New Directors/New Films 2023) – “established her as one of the most original voices in contemporary Australian cinema, praised for her distinctive blend of realism, mystery and emotional precision,” Heretic said.

“ ‘Twice Over’ brings together two extraordinary talents in Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Heaton, whose chemistry promises to be electric under Alena Lodkina’s daring direction,” said Ioanna Stais, head of sales and acquisitions at Heretic. “We’re thrilled to be working with such a remarkable team and to introduce this project to the international market.”

Director of narrative content, Louise Gough, said, “ ‘Twice Over’ is an exploration of the past and the present converging and in the hands of Alena Lodkina, a singular work. This tender, wry and thought-provoking story offers a different perspective on looking for love, regret and the ‘what if’ of it all. Sharp, deeply nuanced, fresh – ‘Twice Over’ is a modern love story.”

“Twice Over” is produced by Kate Glover and Nathan Lewis for Never/Sleep Pictures, Aidan O’Bryan for WBMC and Gregory Jankilevitsch for Mid-March Media. Glover previously collaborated with Heretic on Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s “Hot Milk” (Berlinale Competition) and Romain Gavras’ “Sacrifice” (TIFF Special Presentations), with Mid-March also involved in “Sacrifice.”

The film will receive major production investment from Screen Australia, in association with Screenwest and Lotterywest. It is being executive produced by Klaudia Smieja, Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Samantha Lang, Lee Hazeldene, Ioanna Stais and Giorgos Karnavas.

Heaton is repped by Gersh Agency, Independent Talent Group, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. Wasikowska is repped by RGM Artists, WME and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.

“Any special friend in Mumbai?” “The special friend never lasts.” Strand Releasing has debuted an official US trailer for an indie film titled Cactus Pears, a romantic drama about a lost young man connecting with another man. This first premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, then it went on to play at other fests including New Directors/New Films, San Francisco, Taipei, and Melbourne. Anand, a 30-something city dweller compelled to spend a 10-day mourning period for his father in the countryside of western India, tenderly bonds with a local farmer who is struggling to stay unmarried. When the mourning ends, forcing his return, Anand must decide the fate of his relationship born under duress. Described as “a poignant approach to unspoken sorrow.” The film stars Bhushaan Manoj as Anand, Suraaj Suman, and Jayshri Jagtap. After giving it a prize, the Sundance Jury stated: “This is the great modern love story. To say it’s an honor to award this tender film is an understatement. We cried, we laughed, and we wished to be loved in the same way. It is exactly what the world needs right now.” Another tender slice of cinema in 2025.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Rohan Kanawade’s film Cactus Pears, direct from YouTube:

Cactus Pears Film Poster

An Indian family consecrates the loss of its patriarch with a 10-day mourning period that strands Anand (Bhushaan Manoj) in the countryside he long ago deserted for Mumbai. Grief’s common phases (poring over old photos, sharing beloved memories) coexist with local rituals, all while Anand’s hidden desires materialize in a rekindled friendship with childhood companion Balya. Through these experiences, sensual discoveries, and Bhushaan Manoj’s ever-measured performance, [this] emerges as an exquisite character piece perfected by its heartrending finale. Cactus Pears is written and directed by the newcomer Indian filmmaker Rohan Kanawade, making his feature directorial debut after a few other short films previously. Produced by Naren Chandavarkar, Neeraj Churi, Mohamed Khaki, Sidharth Meer, Kaushik Ray, Hareesh Reddypalli, Rohan Kanawade. This initially premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the World Cinema Grand Jury prize. Strand Releasing will debut Kanawade’s Cactus Pears film in select US theaters starting on November 21st, 2025 this fall. For more info, visit their official site.

Akshay Kumar’s Niece Naomika Saran To Make Her Bollywood Debut With Vedang Raina In Romantic Comedy! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Naomika Saran, daughter of Rinke Khanna and granddaughter of the late Rajesh Khanna, is ready to make her big entry into Bollywood with her awaited debut. As per reports, the young actress will enter the big screen with a romantic comedy produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films an outfit famous for producing new and youthful stories. Set to release on floors by mid-2026, the movie will feature Naomika acting alongside emerging talent Vedang Raina, who has been in the news recently for his role in Jigra.

Naomika’s debut has been the focus of whispers in the industry for months, particularly since she was seen at Maddock Films’ office on several occasions. Though she has avoided the media glare for the most part, sources disclose that Naomika has worked hard to prepare herself for her debut. She has apparently been spending the last year getting rigorous acting and dance training to prepare herself with talent and confidence when she enters the industry.

Having been born into one of Bollywood’s most illustrious film dynasties, Naomika continues an illustrious family tradition. Her mother, Rinke Khanna, debuted in 1998 with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. Her aunt, Twinkle Khanna, had a successful acting career before turning to writing and entrepreneurship. She is the niece of superstar Akshay Kumar, continuing to strengthen her ties within the business. Still, while her prestigious past might have prepared people for more, Naomika has maintained a low profile, further fueling the hype surrounding her debut.

A source close to the production revealed details about the pairing of Naomika and Vedang Raina. “Vedang and Naomika have great chemistry. When the team saw them together, it just clicked. Vedang is currently shooting for an Imtiaz Ali film and will move on to this project next,” the source said. Their pairing is expected to bring a youthful and fresh energy to the screen.

The untitled film will be directed by a first-timer Maddock Films’ protégé in keeping with Dinesh Vijan’s tradition of nurturing new talent and redefining romance for the next generation of cinema audiences. Maddock Films has a excellent track record of giving the world new-generation romantic comedies such as Luka Chuppi and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, promising big things for Naomika’s launchpad.

It may not be Love Jones 2, but Nia Long and Larenz Tate are set to reunite onscreen as the leads of a new untitled romantic drama for Netflix.

Helmed by Sylvie’s Love writer-director, Eugene Ash, the new film is inspired by Maxwell’s debut album, Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite. However, further details including the logline are being kept under wraps, according to Deadline.

The film is being written by Kay Oyegun, a writer-producer who’s best known for her work on NBC’s This Is Us. Maxwell and John D. Hammond along with Long and Tate will serve as executive producers.

Ever since Long and Tate starred in Theodore Witcher’s debut, Love Jones, fans of the cult classic have been begging for a sequel.

However, back in 2023, Tate admitted to being tired of getting asked about Love Jones, part two. In an interview, he stated, “It would be hard for us to catch lightning in the bottle twice.” He did admit that he and Long had been in talks about what it might look like.

He noted, “We feel like we should do something, but something different. TV show, movies that could be a franchise — we’ve discussed everything. We talked about all kinds of stuff because we know what ‘Love Jones’ meant, we know what those characters meant, and we know what the message and the story meant to us. And we don’t want to disrupt that […] and do something that doesn’t live up to our expectations of our audience would want from us.”

The following year, though, he teased that he was ready to “play somebody’s husband,” after becoming a household name through the Power franchise. He and Long have reunited several times in celebration of Love Jones over the years with the most notable moment coming last Christmas in a Walmart commercial.

De De Pyaar De 2 Trailer: Ajay Devgn & R Madhavan Reunite for This Romantic Comedy

2025 seems to be a year of sequels for Ajay Devgn. After the release of Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Singham Again last year, Ajay is slated to have a series of sequels releasing in 2025 as well. This began with Raj Kumar Gupta’s highly successful crime thriller Raid 2, followed by the comedy Son of Sardaar 2. Currently, the trailer for Ajay’s next sequel, De De Pyaar De 2, has been released.

The movie starts precisely where the first part ended. During the climax of De De Pyaar De, the character Aashish, played by Ajay Devgn, and his girlfriend, Ayesha, played by Rakul Preet Singh, find themselves caught in a disagreement regarding whether he should seek her family’s approval. The main aspect as revealed at the beginning of the film being –  Aashish is 50 years old, while Ayesha is 26, nearly half his age.

The trailer depicts Ajay’s character, Aashish, meeting Ayesha’s parents, played by R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor. While they initially try to be open-minded about the age difference, their perspective shifts upon discovering that Aashish is nearly the same age as Ayesha’s father. Eventually, the trailer introduces Meezaan Jafri’s character, who has been called upon by Ayesha’s parents to pursue her, with the intention of ending her relationship with Aashish.

The 2019 original focused on Aashish’s desire to gain his estranged family’s acceptance of Ayesha, considering their age difference. As the film concluded, his estranged wife, Manju, played by Tabu, successfully persuaded not only their family, including their two children, but also Ayesha herself, to offer Aashish another opportunity for love. The sequel is now set to depict Aashish seeking the approval of Ayesha’s family.

De De Pyaar De 2

While the first film, De De Pyaar De, was directed by Akiv Ali, the sequel is directed by Anshul Sharma. The story for both films have been written by Luv Ranjan, who is known for making successful romantic comedies such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar.  He has also co-produced the film through Luv Films, which he co-owns with Ankur Garg, in collaboration with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.

Apart from Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, the cast also includes R. Madhavan, Javed Jaffrey, Meezan Jafri, Gautami Kapoor, and Ishita Dutta in key roles. The film will be released on November 14.
