Killer Mike, J.I.D. Inducting OutKast Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

OutKast will receive one of the highest honors in music next month when they are inducted into the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Killer Mike, J.I.D., and Sleepy Brown will be in the building to properly cement the momentous occasion.

The official Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Instagram account announced that all three Atlanta artists will be at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 8, and the specific “take the stage” language suggests that the trio will be performing as well.

Each artist also has a unique relationship with the legendary duo. Mike was part of the Dungeon Family, home to OutKast and Future, and appeared on their albums Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. J.I.D. has called the “Roses” artists one of his biggest influences, and worked alongside Big Boi on Masego’s “Garden Party.” Sleepy Brown helped to craft their iconic sound and contributed to their albums ATLiens and Aquemini.

OutKast’s inductee class includes Salt-N-Pepa, The White Stripes, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, Joe Cocker, Soundgarden, Warren Zevon, Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, Carol Kaye, and Lenny Waronker. They will mark the 13th Hip-Hop act added to the prestigious club, joining the likes of JAY-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Eminem, Missy Elliott, and A Tribe Called Quest. The ceremony will stream live on Disney+.

The duo has primarily operated as solo acts in recent years. Big Boi appeared on “High Rise” with Sleepy Brown, Akeem Ali, and Organized Noize earlier in 2025. He also collaborated with Brown on Big Sleepover, a 15-song joint project in 2021.

André 3000 famously released a full flute album, New Blue Sun, in 2023. He also joined Killer Mike on “Scientists & Engineers” from his 2023 LP Michael. Most recently, 3K shared the seven-track EP, 7 Piano Sketches. Listen to the project below.

Forrest Frank, Brandon Lake & Jelly Roll Win at 2025 GMA Dove Awards

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

The GMA Dove Awards celebrated many of the biggest songs and artists of the year when the annual awards ceremony aired on Friday night (Oct. 10) on TBN. This year’s awards show took place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena (the awards show had previously been held at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena for several years).

With the theme “Creation Sings,” it was appropriate that the evening both started and concluded with two elements: the evening began with For King & Country, Taylor Hill, Africa Nashvlle, and Stage Ready performing a new song, “World on Fire,” as flames danced across the stage.

The show was filled with uplifting singing, all aimed a sharing a faith-filled message. Being in Music City, a various sounds were represented during the evening, including rap/hip-hop, Southern Gospel, Spanish-language, pop, and country.

New artist of the year winner Leanna Crawford performed her hit “Still Waters (Psalm 23),” while host Tauren Wells and Gio also offered up a sterling, energetic rendition of “Let the Church Sing,” complete with staging that included pews and a church podium, as he sang joined by a choir.

Josiah Queen performed “Dusty Bibles” and “The Prodigal” while Elevation Worship and Elevation Rhythm performed “Goodbye Yesterday” and “I Have Decided.” Other performers included Fred Hammond with The Choir Room.

Israel & New Breed teamed with Unified Sound, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, Alex Campos, Christine D’Clario, Josh and Waleska Morales, Ingrid Rosario, Janina Rosado, Lucia Parker, Nate Diaz and Aaron Moses for a charismatic, uplifting performance of “Coritos de Fuego,” while flying several flags including flags representing Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Forrest Frank was awarded the biggest honor of the evening, artist of the year, as well as accolades for pop/contemporary recorded song of the year (“YOUR WAY’S BETTER”) and pop/contemporary album of the year (CHILD OF GOD). Frank had previously released a video on social media stating he was not attending the awards ceremony, and was not present at the ceremony.

The Brandon Lake/Jelly Roll collaboration “Hard Fought Hallelujah” took home honors for song of the year, bluegrass/country/roots recorded song of the year and short form music video. Lake took home five total awards — he also won songwriter of the year-artist, and worship recorded song of the year, for “I Know a Name” with Elevation Worship and Chris Brown.

“I’m not sure how much I belong speaking up here right now…I ain’t been this nervous since I went to criminal court, y’all,” Jelly Roll said as he took the stage alongside Lake as song of the year winners for “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” “This is a real thing for me….I was thinking about Matthew, when he talks about ‘the least,’ when he said, ‘When I was hungry, you fed me, when I was thirsty you gave me water, when I was in jail you came and visited me and I realized I am standing here because people took the time with the least. I want to give this message as clear as I can…the world is hearing about Jesus like they haven’t in decades right now. There is a revival happening in the United States of America, where you can’t go on a corner and not hear about Jesus right now,” he said, encouraging those listening, “They’ve heard of Jesus, now go show them Jesus.”

Hulvey accepted the rap/hip-hop album of the year accolade for his project Cry, saying, “Glory to the father. And GMA, thank y’all for doing things spirit-filled, for showing the world that we can love Him through our music.”

Carrie Underwood joined Ben Fuller on a rendition of their collaboration “If It Was Up to Me.” To commemorate the Opry 100 celebration happening this year as the Grand Ole Opry celebrates its centennial anniversary, Opry members Steven Curtis Chapman, Vince Gill and Lady A highlighted the longstanding ties between country music and faith-filled messages, performing a version of Hank Williams Sr.’s “I Saw the Light,” as well as Lady A’s “I Run to You,” Gill’s “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and the country classic “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.”

CeCe Winans won two honors during the evening, including Christmas recorded song of the year, for “Joy to The World.” In winning Gospel worship recorded song of the year for “Come Jesus Come” with Shirley Caesar, Winans thanked Caesar, telling the crowd, “I love her, I grew up listening to her, so to be able to sing with her was just amazing..I’m honored to do what we all get a chance to do,” adding, “God is faithful…we have an awesome responsibility and that is to bring as many people as we can…Let’s remember why we do what we do, so God would be glorified, and so that as many souls as possible would come to know who Jesus is.” Winans also sang “Come Jesus Come” during the evening, turning in one of the most inspired, powerful performances.

The evening closed with another surprise, as Jon Batiste joined Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake to perform “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” They performed on the main stage at Bridgestone, as rain poured down over the performers onstage.

Statue of rock n’ roll queen Tina Turner unveiled in Tennessee community where she grew up

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — A 10-foot statue of rock n’ roll queen Tina Turner was unveiled Saturday in the rural Tennessee community where she grew up — before becoming a Grammy-winning singer, an electrifying stage performer, and one the world’s most recognizable and popular entertainers.

Statue of rock n’ roll queen Tina Turner unveiled in Tennessee community where she grew up

The statue was revealed during a ceremony at a park in Brownsville, located about an hour drive east of Memphis. The city of about 9,000 people is near Nutbush, the community where Turner went to school as a child. As a teen, she attended high school just steps from where the statue now stands.

The statue shows Turner with her signature wild hairdo and holding a microphone, as if she was singing on stage. It was designed by sculptor Fred Ajanogha, who said he tried to capture her flexibility of movement on stage, how she held the microphone with her index finger extended, and her hair style, which he compared to the “mane of a lion.”

Turner died May 24, 2023 at age 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich. Her Grammy-winning singing career included the hit songs “Nutbush City Limits,” “Proud Mary,” “Private Dancer,” and “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” from the film “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.” Her movie credits also include “Tommy” and “Last Action Hero.”

Turner teamed with husband Ike Turner for hit records and live shows in the 1960s and ’70s. She survived her troubled marriage to succeed in middle age with the chart-topping “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” released in 1984.

Her admirers ranged from Mick Jagger to Beyoncé to Mariah Carey, and she was known as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

The unveiling was part of the annual Tina Turner Heritage Days, a celebration of her life growing up in rural Tennessee, before she moved away as a teenager. The statue was sculpted in clay by Ajanogha in Atlanta and cast in bronze by a West Tennessee foundry, and it took about a year to complete. It is 7 feet and 9 inches tall with a base of 2 feet, making it stand about 10 feet high .

Karen Cook said she traveled from Georgia to attend the event with her friend, a cousin of Turner’s, to honor the legendary performer.

“She’s a great artist, I love her music,” said Cook, 59. “My mom listened to her a lot. It’s a big deal and a great thing for the community to have Tina Turner in her small town.”

About 50 donors gave money for the statue, including Ford Motor Co., which donated $150,000. Ford is building an electric truck factory in nearby Stanton.

The statue stands near a museum honoring Turner at the the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center in Brownsville. The museum opened in 2014 inside the renovated Flagg Grove School, a one-room building where Turner attended classes in Nutbush. The school closed in the 1960s and was used as a barn before the dilapidated building was moved by tractor-trailer from Nutbush to Brownsville.

Miles Kane shares “rock n’ roll creeper” new single ‘Without You’

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Miles Kane has shared a new single called ‘Without You’ – listen below.

  • READ MORE: Miles Kane tells us about new Dan Auerbach-produced album ‘Sunlight In The Shadows’ – and the chances of a Last Shadow Puppets reunion

The song marks the fourth preview of the singer-songwriter’s sixth studio album, ‘Sunlight In The Shadows’, which is due for release on October 17. Pre-order/pre-save here.

“For me, the track is a rock n roll creeper,” Kane explained of the vintage number. “The underdog of the album that has that ’70s dark vibe to it. It was one of the very first tunes Dan [Auerbach] and I wrote together and it’s still got that rawness to it.”

Black Keys frontman Auerbach produced Kane’s full upcoming album, including the previous singles ‘Love Is Cruel’, ‘Electric Flower’ and ‘I Pray’. He is also credited as a co-writer, singing backing vocals and playing on every song.

Listen to ‘Without You’ here:

Speaking to NME over the summer, Kane explained of his new album: “I’m absolutely obsessed with it. You’ve got your T-Rex glam rock-y ones that are like, ‘Wow!’, then there are slower moments. There are two songs called ‘Always In Over My Head’ and ‘Walk On The Ocean’ which have almost a bit of a crooner-y Burt Bacharach vibe – they’re a bit [Last Shadow] Puppets-y as well.

“It’s got all the elements that I’ve shown over 20 years of making music and stuff. I feel it’s all combined into one.”

When asked about what Auerbach brought to the table, the musician told NME that the pair “hit it off so well” after meeting “last summer for the first time”. He said: “It sounds so fucking cheesy, I know, but the connection was something really special.”

Kane continued: “Then he said, ‘I’d love to produce you and I’d love to sign you’. It was this opportunity that happened out of nowhere; it wasn’t the plan at all. Even our Jay was like, ‘Man, you’ve got to do this – this is special’. For once in my life, it all fell into place.

“I was still touring that last album [2023’s ‘One Man Band’] until December, then in January I went over to record with Dan and this incredible band that we put together. We recorded the album in five days, we did it all live, and I just felt so comfortable and respected. The result is so good that I’m still pinching myself about it all.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Kane was asked whether he wanted to make another album with his friend and Puppets bandmate Alex Turner. “Well, I would, but we’ll just see where it goes,” he said. “I’m always up for anything, me.”

Kane will play two special stripped-back solo UK in-store shows at London’s Rough Trade East on October 16 (find more information here). Details of a headline tour are set to be announced soon.

In other news, Kane is set to open for Kasabian at their huge gig in London’s Finsbury Park next summer. He appears on the line-up alongside Razorlight, The K’s and more.

Jelly Roll, Bunnie XO’s Love Story

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

The Story of How Jelly Rolly & Bunnie Xo Met

Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll‘s love story began in Las Vegas.

As she recalled on Bussin’ With The Boys, she met the singer in August 2015 when he performed at the Las Vegas Country Saloon. This was before Jelly Roll was famous. At the time, he was living in a van, and he estimated about 20 people were at the show.

Instead, their spark took center stage.

“When I met him, I tell everybody it’s the most f–king cliché s–t, but literally my soul was like, ‘There you are,'” Bunnie said on the podcast in 2023. “And he’s not my type. I’m not his type. He loves Taylor Swift. That’s his type.”

Still, a romance didn’t form right away. Bunnie was in an unhealthy relationship, she continued, and Jelly Roll was doing his own thing. But in October 2015, they reconnected. And as Bunnie put it, she was “just smitten.”

After her ex went to prison, she added, she told a friend to give Jelly Roll her phone number. Bunnie said the musician would call and text her for advice on his daughter Bailee from a previous relationship.

However, Bunnie noted her bond with Jelly Roll shifted from platonic to romantic in July 2016 when he returned to Vegas to film some videos and they slept together.

“We’re like s–t-faced drunk,” she remembered. “I’m trying to get it up, get it in, get it on and get it out, and this guy was like, ‘What’s your five-year plan?'”

So, they discussed their goals, and Bunnie recalled Jelly Roll saying, “OK, cool. Let’s do it.”

Jelly Roll is celebrating a major milestone in his health journey. The singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, recently shared a picture of himself on social media in a full Louis Vuitton set. In the playful caption, he revealed to his fans that he can now wear designer clothes after losing 110 pounds.

“I can fit in Louis Vuitton now. Pray for my bank account,” he wrote. The 40-year-old performer wore the luxury look, which included a collared jacket, black shirt, and matching pants, during his performance in Vatican City for the God of the World concert.

Jelly Roll’s dramatic weight loss transformation

Jelly Roll began his weight loss transformation in 2022 when he weighed around 550 lbs. At the time, he was open about wanting to focus on his health and overcome food addiction, which had been his biggest struggle. His nickname “Jelly Roll” was given to him by his mom, reflecting that lifelong battle with weight.

By 2024, the artist told PEOPLE that he had lost about 110 lbs. Much of that was during his four-month Beautifully Broken tour, where he lost 60-70 lbs. by walking and running 2-3 miles a day and eating healthier. He credits nutritionist Chef Ian Larios, who traveled with him to prepare high-protein meals, for helping him stay on track.

Lifestyle overhaul

Jelly Roll has been open about how his tours now focus on exercise, healthy food, and mental well-being instead of drinking and drugs that used to shape his life on the road. He also said he chose not to use weight loss medication like Ozempic, fearing the side effects of acid reflux that could damage his voice. For now, fans are cheering him on as he gets to enjoy the reward of his hard work, not just better health but also the confidence to get on stage in designer clothes.

Jelly Roll has lost more than 110 pounds since starting his weight loss journey in 2022, with around 60–70 pounds dropped during his Beautifully Broken tour in 2024.

12 Best Leggings We Tested That Don’t Roll Down or Pill 2025

by jummy84 August 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Best for: Everyday wear, walks, low-intensity workouts, tummy control

“I wear this pair of leggings more than any other pants in my closet because they’re that amazing. Even after running them through the washer and dryer 50-plus times, the supersoft fabric still feels heavenly against my skin, and the thick waistband strikes that elusive balance of comfortable yet supportive,” says certified personal trainer and Glamour fitness writer Jenny McCoy. “They’re also impressively durable: I donned them throughout my pregnancy and am still wearing them nine months postpartum. Although my belly has changed a lot during that time, these full-length leggings somehow still fit like a glove—the fabric was generously stretchy when I needed it to be but retained its elasticity. I love these so much I ordered a second pair so I have a backup on laundry day. They’re my trusted companions for work-from-home life, running errands, and gentle workouts like yoga, stretching, walking, and hiking.”

The rest of our editors almost universally agree that these are the most versatile on the list, with truly unparalleled functionality, but one note is that it pays to wear a solid pair of sweat-wicking underwear for working out, because these tend to take a while to dry after a run.

  • Pros: Supersoft and lightweight fabric; high-quality and durable
  • Cons: Pricey; while sweat-wicking, they don’t dry quickly
  • Sizes: 0–20
  • Fabrics: Nylon, Lycra elastane
  • Slip test: Passed
  • Pilling: Minimal after more than a year of avid wear

Rajinikanth’s Coolie Continues To Roll: Film Passes Rs 400 Crore Worldwide Despite Dip In Collections! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Superstar Rajinikanth’s new release, Coolie, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, received thumping response at the box office on its opening, which is their first association together. Released on August 14, a day prior to Independence Day, the film managed to rake in the long weekend and soon marked new milestones both locally and internationally. But like most mass entertainers, Coolie too has seen a dramatic decline in collections post-opening weekend.

Box Office Performance: Strong Opening, Weekday Lull

According to industry monitor Sacnilk, Coolie raked in Rs 9.5 crore on day six, which was a significant fall from the Rs 12 crore it earned on Monday. The Monday number itself was a 65% drop compared to the weekend’s top collections. Nevertheless, the film crossed the Rs 200 crore mark locally, and its worldwide collection has crossed Rs 410 crore, going past its supposed budget of Rs 350–400 crore.

The major revenues of the film still keep coming from Tamil Nadu, while the Hindi dubbed version too has brought in decently. Nevertheless, Karnataka and the Telugu-speaking states have witnessed lukewarm support. If the momentum continues, Coolie is heading to become a possible replacement for Rajinikanth’s 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which earned more Rs 600 crore worldwide.

War 2 and Mixed Reviews Competition

Coolie made its entry along with War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, which was also slated to take over the box office. War 2’s performance has been disappointing in comparison, raking in Rs 8.2 crore on its sixth day and still short of the Rs 200 crore mark at home.

Rajinikanth’S Coolie Continues To Roll Film Passes Rs 400 Crore Worldwide Despite Dip In Collections! _Pic Courtesy Instagram

Even with the stellar numbers, Coolie has not been uniformly received. While Rajinikanth’s devout fans hailed the film, mainstream audiences and critics felt it was lacking in the depth and ingenuity one could expect from a Lokesh Kanagaraj effort. Cameos by A-listers Aamir Khan and Nagarjuna and an offbeat turn by Soubin Sahir were attempts to create a ‘pan-India’ appeal, though some thought it was at the expense of the ‘Superstar’s mass base.”.

What’s Next for Rajinikanth

After Coolie, Rajinikanth will be back in Jailer 2, the sequel to his blockbuster 2023 release, pairing up once again with director Nelson Dilipkumar. As fans await his next, Coolie is still running in theaters, looking to establish itself among the year’s highest-grossing Indian films.
