Now You Don’t’ Director On Isla Fisher’s Return

by jummy84 November 23, 2025
written by jummy84

SPOILERS: This post contains details about Now You See Me: Now You Don’t

As the Four Horsemen return for another magic trick in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, director Ruben Fleischer is proud he got the whole band back together.

Following the absence of Isla Fisher‘s Henley from the 2016 sequel, for which she was swapped out with Lizzy Caplan‘s Lula, Fleischer said he was “so glad that we were able to feature both women” in the third installment of the franchise.

“Because they’re both incredible actors and both so funny and so talented,” he told Bleeding Cool of the pair who previously starred together in 2012’s Bachelorette.

While Fisher’s return was advertised in Now You Don’t‘s marketing, Caplan’s appearance came as a pleasant surprise for fans. The characters emphasize the lack of women in magic, in addition to teasing a potential ‘Horsewomen’ spinoff with newbie June (Ariana Greenblatt).

Fleischer added, “It really just kind of calls out the sort of male-dominated magic world, but also I think it gives them power and that they have a relationship independent of the Horsemen, which no one else was expecting.”

Lizzy Caplan attends the ‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ world premiere on Nov. 10, 2025 in New York City.

Stephanie Augello/Variety

In NYSM: NYD, Henley notes she originally left the group to start a family, as Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg) wanted her to hang upside down in a tank of water while pregnant for an escape trick, a nod to her own reason for missing the sequel as the actress was expecting at the time.

The movie is a full family reunion for the Now You See Me coven. With three new magicians, plus the returns of Caplan and Mark Ruffalo’s Dylan (in a brief cameo), the Four Horsemen become eight by the end of the movie.

Is Aisha Hinds Leaving ‘9-1-1’? How 2026 Return Promo Teases Hen Concerns

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Uh-oh, is there another shake-up coming to the 118 when 9-1-1 returns with its next new episode on Thursday, January 8, 2026? The promo and what’s been going on with Hen (Aisha Hinds) suggests that could be a strong possibility.

In the November 13 fall finale, titled “Family History,” Hen began showing some worrying signs. There was what she wrote off as a rash and possible allergic reaction on her hand, then a hand tremor in the middle of a call. Then, at home alone, she collapsed and was unconscious long enough for it to turn from day to night. When her wife, Karen (Tracie Thoms), calling woke her, she lied and said she was stuck at work.

Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) noticed her stumble, but Hen brushed it off and then asked the former nurse about her symptoms, claiming they had been a patient’s. She did, however, latch onto something Maddie said during the conversation, leading to her going to a medical spa for a CT at the end of the episode.

Now, the promo for the January 8 return, which you can watch above, shows Hen talking to Athena (Angela Bassett) and it at least makes it look like she’s filled her best friend in on what’s going on. “I know I gotta tell them,” Hen says. “I’m just not ready for this to be the end of my story.”

Hen’s hand tremor comes up again, this time during a call with a woman in active labor, and she tells Eddie (Ryan Guzman) to glove up. “What?” he asks, confused.

Then, the 118 is called to a fire, and Chimney (Kenneth Choi), now the permanent captain, issues orders, including putting Hen on search and rescue. However, the video ends with her taking off her mask and collapsing. Will this be the point she can no longer hide what’s going on from the others?

This can’t be setting up Aisha Hinds’ exit, right?! Something tells us this will end up being something that can be treated but might mean another change, at least temporarily, at the 118.

What’s your theory about what’s going on with Hen? Let us know in the comments section below.

NewJeans to Return to Label Following Legal Dispute

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

K-pop group NewJeans have announced that they will return to record label Ador following a prolonged legal dispute. In a statement to Pitchfork, Ador—an imprint of Hybe—said that members Hyein and Haerin had “decided to respect the court’s latest ruling and adhere to their exclusive contract.” The group’s other members, Hanni, Danielle, and Minji, subsequently confirmed that they would be returning to the label as well, BBC News reports.

Hanni, Danielle, and Minji shared that their decision was made “after careful discussion” and “was relayed late as one member is currently in Antarctica, but as [Ador] is not responding at the moment, we are inevitably announcing this through a separate statement.” They added, “We will continue greeting you with sincere music and performances.”

NewJeans first announced their intention to split from Ador last year, after the dismissal of label CEO and the group’s mentor, Min Hee-Jin. Its members then accused the label of mistreatment, with singer Hanni alleging multiple instances of workplace harassment. NewJeans also attempted to rebrand to NJZ in an effort to work around their exclusivity deal with Ador; however, a Seoul court ruled that the group had failed to prove significant negligence on the part of the label.

At a concert last March, NewJeans announced that they would be indefinitely pausing all band activities. In June, a South Korean high court ruled—in a decision that was upheld by a Seoul district court last month—that the group would have to honor their seven-year contract with Ador, which extends through 2029. At the time, a legal representative for NewJeans told Rolling Stone that the group planned to appeal October’s ruling.

Ador’s statement to Pitchfork continued, “[Ador] is committed to providing its full support to [Haerin] and [Hyein] to ensure the seamless continuation of their artistic endeavors. We request the warm support from the fans and respectfully urge you to avoid engaging in unfounded speculation regarding the members.”

Emmerdale’s Sally Dexter on “very special” return as dead Faith Dingle

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

**Warning: This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (12th November) Emmerdale episode.**

Sally Dexter has reprised her Faith Dingle role in Emmerdale – despite the character being killed off following a terminal breast cancer diagnosis over three years ago.

It was something that both viewers and Dexter didn’t see coming, though a special standalone episode exploring recent returnee Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) time off screen was able to facilitate it.

“They’ve thrown me in prison with Robert,” Dexter explained.

“It’s a flashback episode and it’s delightful to be back doing it. Well first of all I thought, ‘How are they going to get me back?’

“I’m dead! I’ve been dead I think it’s about two years, yeah, so I had no idea what was coming.”

Faith appeared in flashback scenes.

In the instalment that aired tonight on ITV, viewers saw Faith visit Robert in prison, urging him to follow his heart and start an appeal process against his murder charge so that he could reunite with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

Of course, as we know, Robert was only successful earlier in the year, and had to tell a major fib to prison hubby Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) about why he was getting early release.

Thinking on his feet, he told Kev that sister Vic (Isabel Hodgin) had been diagnosed with a brain tumour and he needed to get home to support her. At the end of today’s episode, a bemused facial expression from Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) confirmed to Kev that his beloved Suggers had been lying.

But as for Faith, is this the last we’ve seen of her?

“It’s been really enjoyable,” she explains.

“It’s lovely coming back. It’s a bit like… I don’t know, coming back to a school that you went to, like you go back to your old school or an old house that you used to live in. It feels very, very homely.

“They’re just such a lovely bunch of people here, all of them, crew and cast included.

“I have been practising my Australian accent, in case they decide that a cousin suddenly appears called Hope. And I’d put in for a blonde wig if they did.”

She also took time to reflect on her 2023 exit, and Faith’s dying days that struck a chord with fans.

“People really seem to plug into it. And I don’t blame them. It was beautifully written, and I thought Jeff [Hordley] was particularly spectacular… as he always is.

Cain and Faith Dingle look serious in Emmerdale

Sally heaped praise on her former co-star Jeff Hordley. ITV

“Damn him! No, he’s wonderful.”

The actress, who has also appeared in Poldark, Holby City and early ’00s soap Night and Day, went on to explain that her Faith role has a very personal connection.

“I’ve always said my mum was very much the person that I based her on, and unfortunately she died last year, so actually, coming back and doing her again is lovely.

“Such a joyous thing to do and I’m very grateful.

“If you haven’t seen tonight’s episode, please go and watch it. It’s very special, and to play Faith again is very, very special to me.”

Is Lenox in Danger on ‘Chicago Med’? Jack Falahee’s Return Ends in Major Cliffhanger

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • Jack Falahee returns in the Chicago Med fall finale, and Lenox risks her life to check on Faye.
  • Dr. Charles is struggling, and he clashes with Dr. Theo Rabari (Manish Dayal) over a patient.
  • The episode hints at a possible new romance for Archer with Kingston.

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Chicago Med Season 11 Episode 7 “Double Down.”]

Uh-oh, we had a feeling that Jack Falahee‘s character, Devin, who abuses his wife Faye (Olivia Nikkanen), would end up meaning trouble for Lenox (Sarah Ramos), and in this case? We hate being right.

Falahee’s not the only one who returns from Episode 4 for the Chicago Med fall finale; Manish Dayal is back as Dr. Theo Rabari as well (our Resident-loving hearts are delighted), as is Nikkanen. The last episode until 2026 also possibly teases a new romance at the hospital. Read on for everything that happened in the fall finale.

Lenox Puts Her Life at Risk — Twice!

Shortly after Lenox gives herself a bit of a shock helping a patient with a defibrillator, she receives word of a patient who won’t wake up — and it’s Devin, found drunk at a pharmacy. He also has defensive wounds on his hands, which he says are from a hockey game, but Lenox and Ripley (Luke Mitchell) worry that Faye may have tried to fight back and be somewhere much worse off than him. Devin does claim she’s out of town visiting family, but when Lenox tries calling her phone, the doctors see that her husband has it.

With the address outside CPD’s jurisdiction, Lenox takes it upon herself to go check on Faye and leaves Ripley to keep Devin at the hospital. When no one answers the door, Lenox ends up breaking in and ultimately finds Faye at the bottom of the basement stairs, badly beaten and with what looks like a broken leg. When Lenox goes upstairs to call for help, with no service in the basement, Devin’s there, and he knocks her out with his gun.

George Burns Jr/NBC

What’s Going on With Charles?

Charles (Oliver Platt) has been struggling a bit lately, including tossing and turning at night. As he puts it, he knows he looks “like crap.”

He and Theo team up on a gymnast who is part of Theo’s experimental group in his drug trial. Charles suspects that Theo is trying to find any cause besides the drug for her recent symptoms, to the point that he thinks he may have dosed her when he sees her flushing her IV, and tests reveal a toxic level of vitamin A. But it turns out to be due to ingredients in what she’s been using to apply glitter for competitions.

Charles then calls Theo to his office to apologize. He admits that something is going on with him and doesn’t know what it is, but he’s looking into it. It’s affecting his judgment, and he reached an unfair conclusion. Theo assures him he’d never sacrifice a patient’s health. It sounds like the two will be teaming up again in the future, which we love.

A New Romance for Archer?

As Archer (Steven Weber) and Asher (Jessy Schram) continue to prepare for their baby, he tells his son, Sean (Luigi Sottile), the news. He assures Sean that he won’t let having this child get in the way of their relationship, and Sean reminds him that he’s 39 and doesn’t feel threatened or replaced. He also awkwardly says he’s glad that this is happening before he has kids because imagine having an aunt or uncle younger than you.

Meanwhile, Archer works alongside Kingston (Merrin Dungey), and during surgery, they start talking about their personal lives — and the fact that both are single. It certainly feels like there’s potential there for something, especially since that would complicate things with the Asher of it.

What did you think of the Med fall finale? What do you think will happen to Lenox? Let us know in the comments section below.

Post-Rock Icons Tortoise Return with Transportive LP » PopMatters

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

The best albums become places. They transport you instantly. Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life is a joyful kitchen on a Sunday morning. Patti Smith’s Horses is a slammed New York club on a Saturday night. Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska is, well, Nebraska. Touch, the eighth studio LP from Tortoise and their first in nine years, also creates a place, but that place is nowhere at all. Recorded in Los Angeles, Portland, and Chicago, Tortoise‘s Touch feels like the space between places; it is an alien, nighttime world. The record, like a Tolkien novel, conjures a universe and makes you feel like you’ve been there. It is, in a word, miraculous.

Humble in its concepts, minimalist in its execution, and pristinely recorded by drummer and producer John McEntire, Touch eschews the ambition and grandiosity of many post-rock LPs and focuses on simple structures. Each song tries to do only one thing; the result is ten fully coherent ideas that urge you to listen closely for each small detail. Each track is immediately distinct from the one that came before, creating a sense of unfamiliarity in the first few bars. The sounds are otherworldly but become comfortable quickly, so the slow changes feel monumental.

Take “Axial Surmount”, which chugs anxiously in C major for two full minutes, the bass and drums in lockstep. At the midway point, the track shifts suddenly, without a signal, to D minor. The same groove becomes sinister, justifying the nervousness of the opening segment. When returning to C for the track’s conclusion, the groove feels like home, but quickly fades out in favor of thirty seconds of spectral synthesizer that is sharply cut off. In four minutes, Tortoise establishes a sense of home, rips it away, restores it, and ends with a riddle. It is confounding and delightful.

These minimalist shifts are not only in service of mystique; while Touch is dark, it is still playful. The album opener, “Vexations”, concludes when the drums abandon a straightforward groove in favor of something more syncopated. The synthesizer matches it. The guitar complements the synth, and then the bass matches them all, forming a deliriously joyful, off-kilter lockstep, much like “Axial Surmount”, before deteriorating into a question.

Touch‘s finest moment comes in its closing track, “Night Gang”, a stately march. It sits in one groove for several minutes and then changes keys just a half step. The band takes this change nonchalantly; the drums don’t add a fill to signal the transition, and there’s no excited guitar run. All we get is a fuzzy synthesizer, emerging from the darkness and gently warming up, to push us into the new key. The track, now slightly brighter, bears an air of triumph. Barely anything has changed, but the song is completely reborn. When the song deteriorates and the album walks away from us, we are transformed.

Tortoise haven’t made an album in nine years. If you’re going to wait this long, you should make something like Touch: A cinematic record that is profoundly human and entirely spectral. It is a world unto itself, filled with beautiful landmarks and perplexing questions. Our own world is more interesting because it is finally here.

Pete Davidson open to Saturday Night Live return

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

9 November 2025

Pete Davidson is open to returning to the Saturday Night Live cast.

Pete Davidson is open to returning to Saturday Night Live

The 31-year-old star – who was just 20 years old when he joined the comedy sketch show in 2024 – left the programme in 2022, though he returned as a guest host the following year, but if showrunner Lorne Michaels asked him to make a comeback, he’d willingly agree.

Asked what he would do if Lorne asked him to return to the cast, he admitted he would and told People magazine: “I’d do anything for Lorne.

“I had a great time hosting last time, and anytime you get that call, it’s an honour and a privilege.

“It’s always relevant, it’s a hot show. People look forward to it, and the cast is great.

“I owe that guy my life. He jump-started everything. So I’d do anything for Lorne, and he knows that.”

The Bupkis actor recently admitted he wasn’t universally popular on the show and some co-stars found him “annoying”.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club, he shared: “You got to remember, everyone there did Second City, improv, worked so hard — so hard. I’m not saying I didn’t work hard, but I was only doing comedy for three, four years.

“And a lot of what people liked about me was, ‘Oh, this was a kid from Staten Island that’s just talking s***. So you gotta remember all of these people are 10, 15 years older than me and working so hard.”

Pete thinks that some of the his castmates’ frustrations stemmed from their relatively modest pay at Saturday Night Live.

The comedian explained: “At the time, you weren’t allowed to do stuff outside of the show that was a payday.

“It was like the Yankees — no beards. You gotta dress up to go to the afterparty and all this s***. So I think I did rub people the wrong way, and I think it was just annoying for the cast.”

Meanwhile, Pete recently revealed that Eddie Murphy inspired him to reduce his social circle.

The actor stars alongside Eddie, 64, in The Pickup, their new comedy movie, and Pete confessed to being inspired by his co-star.

Speaking to People, Pete joked: “I’ve been guilty of having 700 friends in the green room. People I just met or are just in the crew, and then I’m like, ‘Why did they not have my best interest in mind?'”

Pete observed that Eddie “moved” in a totally different way to himself, and the comedy star eventually decided to follow suit.

Pete said: “He has a really small crew, and it’s the same people for a really long time, and I think that’s really important to have an efficient career and just overall life in this business.

“You have to be able to trust who’s around you, and you got to be able to move a certain type of way.

“I’m not Eddie Murphy by any means, but especially when you’re at his level, you need to be able to trust everyone around you.”
