Hyun Bin’s ‘Made in Korea’ Renewed for Season 2 at Disney+

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Disney+ has greenlit a second season of Korean crime series “Made in Korea” before the first season’s premiere, with production already underway on the follow-up.

The renewal was revealed during a panel with stars Hyun Bin, Jung Woosung and Woo Dohwan, alongside director Woo Minho, at the Disney+ originals preview at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort on Thursday. The streamer also confirmed that Season 1 will launch Dec. 24.

Set in 1970s Korea, the crime noir follows Baek Kitae, a KCIA agent leading a double life as a smuggler. The ambitious operative uses his illicit activities to climb the agency’s ranks while protecting his brother and amassing wealth. His ascent hits a roadblock when he faces off against an incorruptible prosecutor, setting up a high-stakes battle between the two men.

Hyun Bin (“Crash Landing on You,” “Confidential Assignment”) stars as agent Baek Kitae, with Jung Woosung (“12.12: The Day,” “Hunt”) playing prosecutor Jang Geonyoung and Woo Dohwan (“Bloodhounds,” “Mr. Plankton”) as Kitae’s brother Baek Kihyun.

The series is written by Park Eunkyo (“Sea of Tranquility,” “Mother”) and Park Joonseok (“A Normal Family”), with Woo Minho (“The Man Standing Next,” “Inside Men”) directing. Hive Media Corp (“Inside Men,” “The Man Standing Next,” “12.12: The Day”) produces.

“Made in Korea” will debut with a two-episode premiere on Dec. 24, followed by episodes three and four on Dec. 31. Episode five drops Jan. 7, with the finale arriving Jan. 14. Season 2 is slated for late 2026.

The announcement came during Disney+‘s showcase of its upcoming Japanese, Korean and global content slate through 2026 and beyond, highlighting the company’s investment in international original programming for the platform.

‘Made In Korea’ Renewed For Second Season At Disney+, Release Date For S1 Unveiled

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Disney+ has renewed Korean crime series Made In Korea for a second season, with Season 1 debuting on the platform on December 24 this year.

Season 1 stars Hyun Bin (Crash Landing On You, Confidential Assignment), Jung Woosung (12.12: The Day, Hunt) and Woo Dohwan (My Puppy, Bloodhounds), who all appeared on stage at Disney’s APAC Showcase in Hong Kong.

Director Woo Min-ho reunites with Hyun Bin, who previously starred in Woo’s historical film Harbin.

Production has already begun on Season 2, which will premiere in late-2026.

Set in 1970s Korea, the first season of Made In Korea follows Baek Kitae (played by Hyun Bin), an ambitious KCIA agent who is living a double life.

Driven by his thirst for power, Kitae works as an agent by day and a smuggler by night. Suave, cunning and capable, Kitae rapidly moves up the ranks after using his smuggling operation to consolidate power, protect his brother (played by Woo) and generate vast sums of money for the agency.

Seemingly unstoppable, only one person stands in his way — a tenacious prosecutor, Jang Geon-young (played by Jung) who can’t be bought or bribed. With everything at stake for both men, the series will follow the duo as they look to take each other down.

Made in Korea is written by Park Eunkyo (Sea of Tranquility, Mother) and Park Joonseok (A Normal Family).

The series is produced by Hive Media Corp, with two episodes set to premiere on December 24.

Another two episodes will premiere on December 31, with one episode releasing January 7 and the finale debuting January 14.

‘Celebrity Traitors’ Renewed for Season 2 at the BBC

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s official: a handful of Britain’s celebrities will return to the Scottish Highlands in 2026 for a second season of The Celebrity Traitors.

The hugely popular reality show — now an international success after installments in various territories, including in the U.S., Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Greece and India — is set to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer next year, with Claudia Winkleman playing host.

The first season of the U.K.’s Celebrity Traitors, which wrapped Thursday with a jaw-dropping finale that saw comedian-turned-traitor Alan Carr swoop in and nab the entire prize fund for his chosen charity, has become the biggest unscripted series in the U.K. since 2021. The debut episode of the show is now the biggest unscripted title on TV so far this year with 14.8 million views over 28 days in Britain.

The finale also broke records, according to the BBC, averaging 11.1 million viewers with a peak of 12 million, making it the biggest overnight audience in the market since the BBC’s own record-breaking Gavin & Stacey viewing on Dec. 25 last year, and biggest overnight share (81 percent) since the European Championships of soccer. The final episode had 1.9 million live requests on BBC iPlayer, which makes it the highest live-viewing number for any entertainment episode of all time on iPlayer.

Among some of the more high-profile names on the first season were actor-presenter Stephen Fry, Bridget Jones star Celia Imrie, singer-songwriter Paloma Faith, Olympian Tom Daley, chat show host Jonathan Ross and Ted Lasso‘s Nick Mohammed.

Along with series two of The Celebrity Traitors, podcast agency Platform Media will produce new episodes of companion show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, available via BBC Sounds, BBC Two and iPlayer, the BBC said.

The announcement of series two coincides with the publication of a new report that reveals the entire Traitors franchise has generated an estimated 21.8 million pound boost for Scotland’s economy since 2022.

Head of entertainment at the BBC Kalpna Patel-Knight said: “Studio Lambert have done an outstanding job as The Celebrity Traitors has well and truly captivated the nation, becoming a bona fide highlight of the year bringing record numbers of people together to enjoy every twist and turn.”

“In 2026 the doors of the castle will be opened again to welcome celebrity players to the game to see who can charm, who can scheme and ultimately who can survive in series two, which promises to be just as unmissable as the first,” she added.

Limited TV Series Renewed for More: ‘Beef,’ ‘Shogun,’ etc.

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

In the television industry, limited series have a funny way of not being so limited. (Hey, semantics, right?) In fact, networks and streamers renew limited series so often, we wonder whether TV executives just use the “limited” label so they can save face if the shows aren’t successful and compete in the historically less-competitive limited Emmy categories if they are. Here are 10 examples of limited series that got the go-ahead to go past their pre-ordained endpoints.

‘Only Murders in the Building’ Renewed for Season 6 at Hulu

by jummy84 October 29, 2025
written by jummy84

The murders will continue, but in a different building (sort of).

Hulu has renewed Only Murders in the Building for a sixth season, with a big change in locale. After five seasons of solving cases in New York (with a trip to California in season four), the show will film in London for season six. The renewal comes hours after the season five finale premiered on Hulu.

The show’s central mystery-solving trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez (who are also executive producers of the series) are set to return for season six. And as is usually the case with Only Murders, the final moments of season five served to set up the new installment — and (no spoilers here) managed to keep the “Building” part of the show’s title in play.

Only Murders in the Building continues to be one of Hulu’s better-performing shows. Season five premiered Sept. 9, and the series returned to Nielsen’s top 10 original streaming series chart for the premiere week and the following week, racking up just more than a billion viewing minutes over that time. (It fell out of the top 10 in the most recent rankings, for the week of Sept. 22-28.)

John Hoffman and Martin created the series, which comes from 20th Television. Hoffman serve as showrunner and executive produces with Martin, Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith and JJ Philbin.

‘Haunted Hotel’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Netflix is booking another stay at Haunted Hotel.

The streamer has ordered a second season of the animated series from Rick and Morty alum Matt Roller. The renewal was a quick one: Haunted Hotel premiered just one week ago. The 10-episode season made Netflix’s top 10 English-language series worldwide for its opening weekend, gathering 1.8 million views (7.5 million hours of viewing divided by a run time of 4 hours, 14 minutes) in its first three days.

The series has received mixed-to-positive reviews, with THR noting that “Despite a solid cast and some decent jokes, the series rarely rises above the level of pleasantly unobjectionable.”

Haunted Hotel centers on a single mother (voiced by Eliza Coupe) who runs a — wait for it — haunted hotel along with her estranged brother (Will Forte), who happens to be one of the ghosts who inhabit the property and really thinks the other spirits have some good ideas about the place. Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides and Jimmi Simpson also star.

Titmouse (Big Mouth, Star Trek: Lower Decks) is the animation studio on Haunted Hotel. Roller created the series and executive produces with Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon, Steve Levy and Titmouse’s Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina. Erica Hayes is supervising director.

Born Again’ has been renewed for season three

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Daredevil: Born Again has been renewed for a third season on Disney+, with filming with lead actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio expected to begin in early 2026.

  • READ MORE: ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ review: brutal re-origin story is Marvel’s best work yet

The show, which follows blind lawyer Matt Murdock (played by Coz) who uses his heightened senses to fight crime as the vigilante Daredevil in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen, will get a third season, Marvel’s Head of TV, Streaming & Animation Brad Winderbaum revealed to IGN in an interview.

Season one of the show came out in the spring of this year. Season two is expected to come in 2026.

“In terms of Daredevil, yeah, we are greenlit for Season 3 and we start shooting next year,” Winderbaum said. In the meantime, details for season two of the TV show, which is a revival of the original Daredevil, remain under wraps.

In the first season of the Disney+ show, Murdock has set aside his vigilante persona to focus on rebuilding his life as a lawyer, only to be pulled back into conflict as old characters resurface. He must confront his past and embrace his role as Daredevil again to protect the city.

In addition to Cox and D’Onofrio, the cast includes Margarita Levieva, Wilson Bethel, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, and Ayelet Zurer.

The show was given five stars in a review by NME. It concluded: “Daredevil: Born Again does a brilliant job of embedding itself into that shared universe. Events from across the MCU are naturally referenced and there are also a few tantalising teases about what comes next.

“Thankfully, a second season is already in the works. None of that distracts from a tightly wound plot that makes space for emotional growth and more than a few big swings. Nostalgia be damned.”

‘Tulsa King’ Officially Renewed For Season 4 With New Showrunner

by jummy84 September 17, 2025
written by jummy84

Paramount+ has formally renewed Taylor Sheridan’s popular crime drama Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, for a fourth season. The news comes on the night of the Season 3 red carpet event in New York and ahead of the season’s Paramount+ debut on Sunday, Sept. 21. There is a change at the helm for Season 4, with Terence Winter returning as executive producer and head writer and Season 3 showrunner Dave Erickson exiting, Deadline has learned exclusively.

Tulsa King, from Paramount TV Studios and 101 Studios, was earmarked for a two-year (Seasons 3 and 4) renewal when series star and executive producer Stallone closed a new deal last November to continue on the show for two more seasons. Season 3 renewal was announced in March, with Season 4 expected to follow.

This is not envisioned as Tulsa King‘s final chapter, I hear. According to sources, talks are underway with Stallone for a new two-year deal and, if the series’ ratings continue to be strong, it could go to six seasons.

Boardwalk Empire creator Winter served as executive producer and showrunner on Tulsa King‘s first season. He stepped down as showrunner after the end of the season before rejoining the series as Head Writer/executive producer in Season 2. He was based largely in the writers room, with producing director Craig Zisk handling on-set showrunner duties.

“We all got on the same page creatively,” Winter said about his return at the time.

Tulsa King went back to having a formal showrunner in Season 3 with Mayor of Kingstown showrunner Erickson taking on those duties. Erickson, who recently also stepped down as showrunner of the upcoming Tulsa King spinoff series, NOLA King, starring Samuel L. Jackson, will now focus solely on Mayor of Kingstown. NOLA King will be introduced on Tulsa King, with Jackson guest starring on Season 3.

This marks a full-time return to Tulsa King for Winter, who was a consultant in Season 3. Like in Season 2, there is no separate showrunner.

Tulsa King‘s second season delivered Paramount+’s most watched global premiere at the time with 21.1 million viewers for the opening episode. It was the #1 global Paramount+ original series in 2024 and a Top 10 original series across all SVODs in Q4.

In Season 3, as Dwight’s (Stallone) empire expands, so do his enemies – and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.

(L-R) McKenna Quigley Harrington, Bella Heathcote, Martin Starr, Vincent Piazza, Dana Delany, Sylvester Stallone, Annabella Sciorra, Frank Grillo, Garrett Hedlund and Jay Will attend the Tulsa King panel on Sept. 16, 2025 in New York City.

The series also stars Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Robert Patrick, Beau Knapp, Bella Heathcote, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, Kevin Pollak, Vincent Piazza, Frank Grillo, Michael Beach, James Russo, with Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany.

Jackson will appear in Season 3 as Russell Lee Washington Jr. before headlining NOLA King.

Produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, Tulsa King Season 3 is executive produced by Sheridan, Sylvester Stallone, Dave Erickson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Jim McKay, Sheri Elwood, Ildy Modrovich and Keith Cox. Erickson also serves as showrunner. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Apple TV+ has renewed the sci-fi epic “Foundation” for Season 4, Variety has learned.

News of the renewal comes one day ahead of the third season finale, which drops on Apple TV+ on Sept. 12. The logline for the finale states, “Gaal and the Second Foundation take the flight to the Mule as the Emperor’s legacy suffers a catastrophic blow.”

“There is no series quite like ‘Foundation’ and we feel lucky and honored to be carrying the torch forward as co-showrunners into season four,” said co-showrunners and executive producers Ian Goldberg and David Kob. “We look forward to continuing the epic, emotional, storytelling that defined the first three seasons of the show, and to be working alongside some of the most talented, passionate creative partners in the business.”

“Foundation” is based on Isaac Asmiov’s stories of the same name. The show originally debuted in 2021. The Season 3 cast includes Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Cherry Jones, Brandon P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Tómas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig, Troy Kotsur, Pilou Asbæk, Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Rowena King.

The Office US spinoff The Paper has already been renewed before season premiere

by jummy84 September 3, 2025

3 September 2025

The Paper has already been renewed for a second season.

Domhnall Gleeson is starring in The Paper

The highly anticipated spinoff series to The Office US doesn’t premiere until Thursday (04.09.25) but that hasn’t stopped NBC deciding to greenlight a second run of episodes ahead of the release date.

The renewal was announced on the Today show by stars Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a source has revealed showrunner Greg Daniels has already started working on ideas for season two.

It’s said the network was keen to keep up momentum, while an early renewal means the show can return at the same time in 2026.

The new series is a spinoff from the US version of The Office, which in turn was based on Ricky Gervais’ iconic mockumentary comedy of the same name.

In the upcoming 10 episodes, the fictional documentary crew from The Office US tackle new subjects in the form of The Truth Teller, a failing newspaper in Ohio.

Domhnall stars as salesman Ned Sampson, who is given a new task in his role in the toilet paper division of conglomerate Enervate.

He’s challenged with saving the firm’s small market newspaper, which doesn’t have many legitimate journalists on the staff.

Co-creator Greg recently revealed that he and Michael Koman – his fellow executive producer and showrunner – “definitely have ideas” for a second run.

He told Variety before the renewal was announced: “We definitely have ideas. We’ve been talking about stories for a possible Season 2, and it’ll be interesting to see what the audience thinks.

“We’ve gotten really good feedback from people inside the company and journalists and friends, but you never know what the broader world of Office fans are going to think of it.”

Pearlena Igbokwe, chairman of TV studios, NBC Entertainment Peacock Scripted at NBCU, is hopeful the show will resonate with viewers.

She said: “Having seen all the episodes, I think [Greg’s] done an incredible job.

“These are characters you just grow to love and appreciate what he’s doing in the show. I think they do an incredible job of landing the season. So I am very hopeful and optimistic that the audience will feel the same.”
