Gay Meat Releases New Single “Love For Fun”: Listen

by jummy84 November 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Gay Meat: Not necessarily a band name you want to go around recommending to people willy-nilly, but music worth recommending nonetheless. Ex-Museum Mouth frontman Karl Kuehn has been releasing catchy, pensive, emo-leaning indie rock under the moniker for a while, and now he’s got a new label home at Skeletal Lightning, who are releasing Gay Meat’s upcoming debut album Blue Water sometime early in the new year. In the meantime, Kuehn’s sharing the record’s lead single “Love For Fun” today.

As Kuehn tells it, “Love For Fun” was written in the aftermath of a fling with an older guy, which he realized in retrospect was doomed from the start. The track is a slow burner that reaches an epic swell in its final chorus — with some subtle background vocals courtesy of Jeff Rosenstock — as if to mimic the a-ha moment of recognizing that the “love” in question really was just “fun” all along. Listen below.

Lone Releases New Single “Sickly, Sweetly Summer Movie”

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Matt Cutler returned last month with “Ascension.png,” his first new song as Lone in nearly two years. The British electronic producer is keeping up that momentum today with another new one called “Sickly, Sweetly Summer Movie,” which, respectfully, is an odd title to give a song you’re releasing in mid-November.

“Sickly, Sweetly Summer Movie”‘s enjoyability isn’t too dependent on warm weather, though, because it isn’t really concerned with the earth realm at all. In a message to his Bandcamp customers, Lone describes the song as “a warped lullaby that descends into a nightmare” evoking some “real fever dream vibes.” There are a lot of celestial synths at play, interrupted only by some nondescript vocals — “me, way past my bedtime,” Lone adds — before its final moments get ever-so-subtly darker. Listen below.

Katy Perry Releases New Single ‘Bandaids’

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Katy Perry‘s new single “Bandaids” has her reflecting on the end of her marriage to actor Orlando Bloom. Equally as frightening and emotionally-taxing is the single’s matching “Final Destination”-style video where Perry finds her positive outlook on life — notably at the core of her “143” album and era — has run dry.

“It’s not what you did, it’s what you didn’t,” Perry sings in the introduction of the pop track. “You were there, but you weren’t.”

The video, directed by Christian Breslauer (SZA, Lizzo, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat), stitches together scenes where Perry’s carelessness leads her to nearly die — this ranges from electrocution (after leaving the “Light and Love Crystals” store) to car crashes and more.

At the end of the video, where Perry proclaims “if I had to do it all over again, I would still do it all over again,” she is left listening to the empowering chorus of her “Woman’s World” single at a gas station where she lights a cigarette and causes an explosion.

Perry and Bloom announced their split earlier this summer after nine years together. They are now co-parenting their daughter, Daisy Dove. In the video, Perry finds a moment of calm amid the anxiety of her near-death encounters when she spots a white daisy growing from the ground — another symbol reflecting her real-life state of mind.

“Bandaids” marks Perry’s first comeback following the release of her “143,” which she followed and supported with a global tour that concludes in Abu Dhabi on Dec. 7. The record — which featured 21 Savage, Kim Petras, Doechii and JID — debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 upon its release.

Lionsgate releases first trailer for Michael Jackson biopic

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Michael, the forthcoming biopic about pop legend Michael Jackson.

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Michael, the forthcoming biopic about pop legend Michael Jackson

The film is being directed by Antoine Fuqua, 60, and the teaser for the project offers the first glimpse of Jackson’s life story brought to the screen by his nephew Jaafar Jackson, 29.

The film chronicles the rise of Jackson from child star to global icon, exploring both his personal life and his career-defining moments.

Lionsgate’s trailer opens with a recreation of Jackson in the recording studio with music producer Quincy Jones, portrayed by Kendrick Sampson.

Quincy is seen telling Jackson: “I know you’ve been waiting a long time for this. The tracks are made, the songs are ready. Let’s take it from the top.”

As Jackson’s 1982 hit Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ plays, the clip flashes through scenes from the singer’s early years, live performances and music videos, including Thriller.

Alongside Jaafar, the film stars Miles Teller as Jackson’s attorney and adviser John Branca, as well as Colman Domingo as his father Joe Jackson and Nia Long as his mother Katherine Jackson.

Jessica Sula plays his sister LaToya Jackson, while Larenz Tate appears as Motown Records founder Berry Gordy.

Laura Harrier portrays pioneering music executive Suzanne de Passe, and Kat Graham stars as Diana Ross.

The biopic, which wrapped production in May 2024, is now set for release in cinemas on 24 April 2026 – a change from its original date of 3 October 2025.

Industry reports had suggested Michael might be split into two parts, but the trailer confirms it will be released as a single film.

A synopsis from Lionsgate reads: “Michael explores the global superstar’s journey to become known to the world as the King of Pop, presenting an intimate look at the life and enduring legacy of one of the most influential, trailblazing artists the world has ever known.”

The supporting cast also includes Liv Symone, Kevin Shinick, KeiLyn Durrel Jones and Kendrick Sampson, who portrays Quincy Jones, the heavyweight producer who first met Jackson when he was 12.

The screenplay was written by John Logan, whose credits include Alien: Covenant and Rango.

Producers include John Branca, Graham King and John McClain, with David B. Householter serving as executive producer.

Michael marks the first major dramatisation of Jackson’s life to have the full cooperation of his estate, with its makers given access to his music catalogue and archival material.

Neon Releases French Animated Feature Oscar Contender

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

The final trailer for “Arco,” one of the main contenders for the Best Animated Feature film at the Oscars this year, has arrived.

Directed by first-time feature filmmaker Ugo Bienvenu and produced by Natalie Portman, “Arco” is a French film that takes visual inspiration from Studio Ghibli, with a blend between hand-drawn and CG animation. The trailer, soundtracked by a lilting piano melody, reveals the basic premise of the film, which focuses on a young boy named Arco from a distant and peaceful future, where humans live in the sky and use rainbow suits to fly through the air.

When he disobeys his parents and goes on a flight by himself, Arco winds up in the slightly more contemporary world of 2075, where humanity still lives on the ground, but has robots and other advanced technology and is contending with encroaching threats of climate change. There, he meets a girl named Iris, and sets out on a journey to find a way back to his own time.

Resurrection

“Arco” made its world premiere at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in May, where it played in the festival’s Special Screenings section. The movie received positive reviews from critics out of the festival; writing for IndieWire, Christian Blauvelt gave the film a “B-” and called it an “emotional sci-fi epic.” The film additionally won the Cristal Award for Best Feature Film at the 2025 Annecy Film Festival, and also played at the Animation is Film Festival in Los Angeles.

For its American release, the film will screen with an English dub that first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Child actors Romy Fay and Juliano Valdi voice Iris and Arco in the English version, while additional cast members include Portman, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Flea, Mark Ruffalo, and Andy Samberg. The original French version of the film included several prominent French film stars including Swann Arlaud of “Anatomy of a Fall” and Louis Garrel from “Little Women.”

Neon will release “Arco” in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, November 14. Watch the trailer for the film below.

Netflix New Releases: November 2025

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

The end of the almost decade-long Stranger Things saga; the debut of Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar contender; an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at Eddie Murphy’s life; Joel Edgerton’s best chance for a best actor nomination; an epic samurai battle royale action drama; a prestige series starring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys; Richard Linklater’s love letter to the French New Wave; and welcome return of Elmo and friends are among the highlights of the new film and TV series launching on Netflix in November.

November is a huge movie month for Netflix as awards season gets underway. Among the prominent new features the streamer is launching this month that are worth checking out is the Sean Baker-produced Taiwanese drama Left-Handed Girl (Nov. 28). But perhaps the most high-profile is Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Frankenstein, which hits the platform on Nov. 7. Starring Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz and Jacob Elordi as the monster, the feature debuted to rapturous acclaim at the Venice Film Festival, including a 14-minute standing ovation, and boasts a critic score of 85 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Just like Frankenstein, Sesame Street is back from the dead. Launching on Nov. 10 on Netflix is all-new episodes of the long-running and beloved children’s TV show. The streamer came to the rescue in May by inking a deal with Sesame Workshop for new episodes of the long-running children’s show, just months after Warner Bros. Discovery opted not to renew its output deal for the program.

On Nov. 12, Netflix releases the doc Being Eddie, an intimate look at the life and career of comedy legend Eddie Murphy. Joining Murphy in the doc are Jerry Seinfeld, Arsenio Hall, Brian Grazer, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jamie Foxx, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Jerry Bruckheimer, John Landis, Kenan Thompson, Kevin Hart, Michael Che, Ruth Carter, Tracee Ellis Ross and Tracy Morgan. Being Eddie is directed by Angus Wall and produced by John Davis, John Fox, Charisse Hewitt-Webster, Terry Leonard and Kent Kubena.

Two TV titans link up for Netflix’s new prestige series The Beast in Me that debuts on Nov. 13. Starring Emmy-winners Claire Danes and Welsh superstar Matthew Rhys, the eight-episode show is a dramatic thriller about a man named Nile (Rhys) — previously suspected of killing his wife — moves into a house near Danes’ Wiggs, a grieving author. Brittany Snow and Natalie Morales round out the main cast, along with guest stars Jonathan Banks, David Lyons, Tim Guinee, Hettienne Park, Deidre O’Connell, Aleyse Shannon, Will Brill, Kate Burton, Bill Irwin, Amir Arison and Julie Ann Emery.

Also on Nov. 13, Netflix releases action series Last Samurai Standing, a project that has the strong potential to be the breakout Asian hit for the streamer in November. A live-action TV series adaptation of the Japanese manga series written by Shogo Imamura, the logline for Last Samurai Standing reads: “Set in the late 19th century during the Meiji period, as the age of the samurai approached its end, Last Samurai Standing takes place at the Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto. Come nightfall, 292 samurai warriors gather, lured by the promise of a grand prize of 100 billion yen. Among them is our protagonist, Shujiro Saga (Junichi Okada), who enters this dangerous game with one goal: to save his ailing wife and child.”

On Nov. 14, Netflix debuts the prolific Richard Linklater’s latest feature project for the streamer, Nouvelle Vague. The Cannes-premiering dramedy is the filmmaker’s love letter to the highly influential French New Wave movement in cinema, and fictionally depicts the life of Jean-Luc Godard during the production of his classic film Breathless in 1959. The film stars Guillaume Marbeck as Godard, Zoey Deutch as Jean Seberg, and Aubry Dullin as Jean-Paul Belmondo.

Nov. 21 sees the launch of another Oscar hopeful for Netflix, Clint Bentley’s period drama Train Dreams. The film stars Aussie actor Joel Edgerton as a man who builds railways in the 1900s in the Pacific Northwest, and is more a meditation on a rapidly changing America. The cast also includes Felicity Jones, Clifton Collins Jr., Kerry Condon and William H. Macy. After premiering at Sundance this year, the film has steadily racked up critical acclaim, and The Hollywood Reporter‘s awards editor predicts the film has a solid chance for recognition in the best picture, best director and best actor categories.

And on Nov. 26, is the debut of the first part of the final season of phenomenon Stranger Things, not only Netflix’s biggest November project, but undoubtedly the streamer’s biggest for 2025. We return to Hawkins, Indiana in the fall of 1987 as the no-longer-kids are confronted with Vecna, the ruler of the Upside Down, once more and prepare themselves for one final showdown.

Season five’s cast includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Priah Ferguson, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono and Amybeth McNulty.

Movies added to Netflix in November include Zodiac, Blue Beetle, Charlie’s Angels, Crazy Rich Asians, Dear Santa, Doctor Sleep, Don’t Worry Darling, Dr. Dolittle, Dr. Dolittle 2, Elvis, Frances Ha, Game Night, Happy Christmas, The Hangover, The Hangover: Part II, The Hangover: Part III, I Know What You Did Last Summer, In the Heights, Isn’t It Romantic, Judas and the Black Messiah, Just Mercy, The LEGO Movie 2:, The Second Part, Life of the Party, The Little Things, Merry Liddle Christmas, The Nun II, Ocean’s 8, Paddington 2, The Patriot, Ready Player One, Tenet, This Is the End, Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas, The Way Back and Wonka.
