Exclusive: Mona Singh & Kunaal Roy Kapur on Thode Door Thode Paas: “It’ll Help Families Reflect…”

Mona Singh and Kunaal Roy Kapur recently sat with Filmfare for a heartwarming chat about their show Thode Door Thode Paas. The actors opened up about the slice-of-life family series. It is all about heartwarming moments amid the family’s decision to go for a digital detox.

Mona said, “I’ve always liked drama. I love slice of life stories. These stories help you sit with your family. They are no brainers. You just have a good time. They make you reflect on your life. You ask the important questions like ‘What are you doing?’ ‘Where are you headed?’ You start setting your priorities and boundaries right. You value family life and family time. As an actor, it is also our social responsibility to be a part of these shows. In these, people get inspired to take charge of their life and do something different.”

She further shared, “The characters have left an emotional impact on people. And it’s very rare that actors get the opportunity to do that. So we’ve both been very fortunate in that way. Some of the projects we’ve been a part of have actually changed the way people think. They have helped people introspect and understand the direction in which they are going.”

Agreeing to Mona, Kunaal added, “And I think that this show, Thode Door Thode Paas is also the one that will help with take a little pause. It’ll help families sit and reflect on the relationship they have with social media and the internet. They will try to understand their relationship with digital mass media. I’m just happy to be a part of these kinds of projects which stay a little bit longer in people’s minds.”

15 Best Timely Movies & TV Shows That Reflect Reality

by jummy84 November 8, 2025

Regina King is the true hero of this HBO limited series, adapted from the DC Comics graphic novels of the same name. Though Watchmen is set in a present-day alternate universe, it’s based on the true horrors of the Tulsa Race Massacre that took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1921, in which white supremacists targeted an area of town known as Black Wall Street for its thriving Black-owned businesses. Unlike in reality, the descendants of the massacre receive reparations, leaving resentment amongst the white supremacist group known as the Seventh Kavalry. King is a masked vigilante on a mission to put an end to the group’s pattern of racial violence. Watchmen also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jeremy Irons, and Jean Smart as their characters must confront their own ethics in ways they’ve never had to before.. This nine-episode series is a masterclass in rich, nuanced storytelling about the traumas that wounds inflicted from racism hold — and the inherited pain that ensues if not addressed head-on. With the resurfacing of white nationalism and erasure of historical facts on federal and state levels, this prescient show is absolutely worth a rewatch today. Stream now on HBO Max.

Stranger Things’s Millie Bobby Brown Accuses Co-Star David Harbour of Bullying: How On-Screen Bonds Don’t Always Reflect Real-Life Dynamics

In a development that has sent ripples through Hollywood, Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown has reportedly accused her co-star, David Harbour, of bullying and harassment during the filming of the hit Netflix series. According to reports, the allegations sparked a months-long internal investigation by the streaming giant, casting a shadow over one of television’s most beloved on-screen duos — Eleven and Hopper.

The accusations mark a stark contrast to the father-daughter warmth that defined their relationship on Stranger Things. Fans across the world who had emotionally invested in that dynamic are now grappling with a sense of disillusionment, as the reality behind the scenes appears to be far removed from the camaraderie they saw on screen.

Stranger Things sources say tensions simmered for some time

Sources close to the production revealed that tensions had reportedly been simmering for some time between Brown and Harbour. While details remain under wraps, it is understood that the investigation delved into the alleged instances of verbal and emotional mistreatment. Both actors, however, have remained tight-lipped publicly — a move likely encouraged by contractual and legal constraints.

The news has reignited a larger debate in Hollywood about the pressures of fame, power dynamics on sets, and the fine line between method acting intensity and unprofessional behaviour. David Harbour, known for his immersive and emotionally charged performances, has, in past interviews, admitted to sometimes carrying his character’s emotions into real life. However, whether that intensity crossed into unacceptable territory remains unclear.

Brown, who rose to global fame as a child actor, has previously spoken about the emotional toll of growing up under the spotlight. Having started Stranger Things at just 12, she became both a global icon and a subject of immense media scrutiny. Insiders suggest that her growing sense of independence and confidence over the years might have contributed to the changing dynamic with her older co-stars.

What’s most striking about the current controversy is how it blurs the line between fiction and reality for audiences. The deeply paternal chemistry between Harbour’s Hopper and Brown’s Eleven was a central emotional anchor of the show — one that symbolised safety, love, and redemption. Fans often projected those feelings onto the actors themselves, believing their off-screen relationship mirrored their on-screen bond. But this incident serves as a stark reminder that cinematic relationships, no matter how emotionally convincing, are ultimately scripted performances crafted by writers, directors, and editors.

The emotional connection viewers form with such characters often fuels parasocial relationships — a one-sided sense of friendship or intimacy with public figures. When stories like this surface, it tends to unsettle fans who struggle to separate character personas from the real individuals behind them. The disappointment, in such cases, often stems not just from the alleged misconduct but from a shattered illusion that audiences unconsciously nurture.

Hollywood history is filled with similar instances where on-screen harmony belied off-screen discord. From iconic television pairs who barely spoke between takes to entire casts that fractured after shooting wrapped, the entertainment industry has long operated within a space where personal and professional realities seldom align.

It’s important for audiences to understand that actors, despite the empathy they evoke through their roles, are professionals navigating high-pressure environments, creative conflicts, and personal insecurities — just like anyone else. Their job is to make the audience believe in a reality that exists only within the frame, and once the camera stops rolling, they return to their own, often vastly different, lives.

As fans process the news of the alleged rift between Brown and Harbour, it may also be a moment to reflect on our own expectations of celebrities. Admiration need not blur into idealisation. The emotional bonds we form with their characters should inspire us, not entangle us in the messy realities of their personal relationships.

While Stranger Things continues to remain one of Netflix’s biggest cultural phenomena, the controversy surrounding its stars adds an uncomfortable layer to its legacy. Whether the investigation’s findings are ever made public or not, this episode serves as a powerful cultural reminder: the warmth, love, and trust we see on screen are not promises — they are performances.

Thom Yorke Would “Absolutely Not” Perform in Israel, Radiohead Reflect on Recent Backlash

by jummy84 October 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Over the past year, Radiohead has faced growing criticism for their past decisions to perform in Israel, as well as for guitarist Jonny Greenwood’s continued collaborations with Israeli musicians and his performances in Tel Aviv even after the country’s invasion of Gaza. As a result, both Greenwood and frontman Thom Yorke have been met with protests. Yorke was notably heckled by a pro-Palestine audience member during a solo concert in Melbourne, Australia, in October 2024, prompting him to briefly walk offstage. Greenwood, meanwhile, recently canceled two UK shows with Israeli musician Dudu Tassa after receiving alleged threats linked to protests against Israel.

Ahead of their comeback tour in November, Radiohead’s members addressed the controversy — and their increasingly divergent individual stances on the issue — in a new interview with The Sunday Times.

Earlier this year, Yorke published an extensive statement responding to criticism over his reaction — or perceived lack thereof — to Israel’s war in Palestine, while condemning what he described as “social media witch hunts.”

Expanding on the subject with The Sunday Times, Yorke said, “This wakes me up at night. They’re telling me what it is that I’ve done with my life, and what I should do next, and that what I think is meaningless. People want to take what I’ve done that means so much to millions of people and wipe me out. But this is not theirs to take from me — and I don’t consider I’m a bad person.”

“A few times recently I’ve had ‘Free Palestine!’ shouted at me on the street,” Yorke continued. “I talked to a guy. His shtick was, ‘You have a platform, a duty and must distance yourself from Jonny.’ But I said, ‘You and me, standing on the street in London, shouting at each other? Well, the true criminals, who should be in front of the ICC [International Criminal Court], are laughing at us squabbling among ourselves in the public realm and on social media — while they just carry on with impunity, murdering people.’ It’s an expression of impotency. It’s a purity test, low-level Arthur Miller witch-hunt. I utterly respect the dismay but it’s very odd to be on the receiving end.”

Greenwood was also critical of perceived attempt cancel both him and Radiohead. “It’s the embodiment of the left,” Greenwood told The Sunday Times. “The left look for traitors, the right for converts and it’s depressing that we are the closest they can get.”

The Radiohead guitarist revealed he’s working on a new record with Israeli and Middle Eastern musicians, adding, “And it’s nuts I feel frightened to admit that. Yet that feels progressive to me — booing at a concert does not strike me as brave or progressive.”

He continued, “Look, I have been to antigovernment protests in Israel and you cannot move for all the ‘Fuck Ben-Gvir’ stickers. I spend a lot of time there with family [he is married to an Israeli artist, Sharona Katan] and cannot just say, ‘I’m not making music with you fuckers because of the government.’ It makes no sense to me. I have no loyalty — or respect, obviously — to their government, but I have both for the artists born there.”

When asked about the possibility of playing another concert in Israel, Yorke was firm in his response: “Absolutely not. I wouldn’t want to be within 5,000 miles of the Netanyahu regime. But Jonny has roots there, so I get it.”

“I would also politely disagree with Thom,” Greenwood replied. “I would argue that the government is more likely to use a boycott and say, ‘Everyone hates us — we should do exactly what we want.’ Which is far more dangerous.”

“It’s nuts,” Greenwood added. “The only thing that I’m ashamed of is that I’ve dragged Thom and the others into this mess — but I’m not ashamed of working with Arab and Jewish musicians. I can’t apologize for that.”

Yorke also admitted to being concerned about Radiohead’s upcoming tour being disrupted by protestors. “But they don’t care about us. It’s about getting something on Instagram of something dramatic happening and, no, I don’t think Israel should do Eurovision. But I don’t think Eurovision should do Eurovision. So what do I know?”

As for the other members in Radiohead?

Guitarist Ed O’Brien, who previously posted in support of a Free Palestine on social media, pointed out that Radiohead played Ramallah in the West Bank as well. He added that he was “not going to judge anybody… But the brutal truth is that, while we were once all tight, we haven’t really spoken to one another much — and that’s OK.”

Drummer Phil Selway remarked that, “What BDS [ Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions] are asking of us is impossible. They want us to distance ourselves from Jonny, but that would mean the end of the band and Jonny is coming from a very principled place. But it’s odd to be ostracized by artists we generally felt quite aligned to.”

And bassist Colin Greenwood recalled the hours after September 11th, when Radiohead were playing a concert in Berlin. [Some Americans in the audience] started to shout at Yorke: “Say something!” Greenwood remembered the singer eventually responded: “What do you want me to say?”

Elsewhere in their interview with The Sunday Times, the decision to go on hiatus, their impending comeback tour, the possibility of new music, and more.

The Clipse Reflect On Historic Vatican Performance

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

In a moment that felt both divine and defiant, The Clipse did something no other Hip-Hop act has ever done — they performed at The Vatican. Yes, that sacred place obtaining St. Peter’s Square.

Last month, Pusha T and No Malice turned one of the holiest sites on Earth into a sanctuary for Hip-Hop, delivering a soul-stirring performance of their reflective single “The Birds Don’t Sing.”

The Virginia-bred brothers took the stage during the Grace for the World concert, with John Legend joining them for a powerful live rendition that felt transcendent. Through the song’s lyrics, they channeled the pain and healing that followed their parents’ passing, creating a moment that resonated deeply with both the faithful and Hip-Hop heads alike.

For Clipse, though, the Vatican performance hit different. It came on the heels of their long-awaited reunion album Let God Sort ’Em Out after a 15-year hiatus. While speaking with them at the Pepsi Philly Eats Fest on Saturday (Oct. 4), the magnitude of their achievement and the history they’d just made was not lost on either brother.

“It was definitely a moment for us,” Malice told VIBE. “I think we definitely broke ground. It’s overdue and past time that people understand that Hip-Hop belongs everywhere. It’s expression, it’s communication, it teaches the world about our culture. It’s an art form that’s celebrated in every walk of life. It’s nothing that should be surprising — we should be celebrated everywhere.”

It’s not the first time Hip-Hop has been elevated to spaces once deemed “too highbrow” for the culture. Just last month, Future saw his DS2 album reimagined as a ballet, fusing trap music with classical dance. The latter is part of the movement of rappers expanding the genre’s reach beyond stadiums, Super Bowls, and red carpets and into the world’s most prestigious art institutions.

But this moment at The Vatican was undeniably defining.

Pusha echoed Malice’s sentiment, reflecting on Hip-Hop’s long road to becoming a respected artform. “I think we have a responsibility to our fans specifically to showcase our talent and showcase the things that they fell in love with on all of the biggest platforms,” he said. “I think it’s good for fans of Hip-Hop and the culture to see how far this thing can go.”

“I’ve been here for a long time with Hip-Hop, and I remember it not being seen as an art, and it not being televised,” he continued. “And like you said, now being at The Vatican — we do this so everyone can see how far it can go.”

Pharrell Williams co-produced the Grace for the World concert that took place on Sept. 13, alongside Nova Sky Stories and the legendary Andrea Bocelli, calling it “a rare cultural moment where the world stops and collectively tunes in.” And he wasn’t exaggerating.

The Clipse performance was less about creating a “contradictory” spectacle and more about the symbolism and proof that Hip-Hop now commands reverence even in the holiest of places.

A long ways from grinding in Virginia Beach to now performing in Vatican City, The Clipse’s journey is a testament to Hip-Hop’s limitless boundaries.
