beam members reaction to 2025 Budget announcement

by jummy84 November 29, 2025
written by jummy84

beam, the association for the business events, accommodation, and meetings industry, has reached out to its members and to UKEVENTS for their reaction to the Chancellor’s 2025 Budget announcement.

Early feedback highlights a blend of cautious optimism and significant concern across the sector.

Louisa Watson, Chair of beam:
“beam welcomes the Chancellor’s announcement of permanently lower business rates for retail, hospitality and leisure properties under £500,000 rateable value. This is a meaningful step that will provide long-term stability for many small venues within our sector.

“However, at this stage the government has not yet published the new business-rates multipliers or the full transitional-relief tables. Until those technical details are released, it is not possible to calculate the exact monetary impact of the relief for individual properties. The level of benefit will vary depending on each venue’s rateable value and position within the new structure.

“beam also notes that the mid-sized and larger hotels and major conference venues that underpin the UK’s business events industry, could face higher rates under the proposed changes. These additional costs, alongside rising staffing expenses and wider tax adjustments, will place further pressure on operators at a time when margins are already tight.”

Andrew Deakin, Managing Director of Conference Care:

“This Budget offers little to boost business confidence or stimulate growth. Instead, it reinforces a system where private enterprise is treated as a cash machine, with higher payroll costs, frozen tax thresholds, increased dividend and investment taxes, and reduced incentives for those who drive economic activity.

“It places further pressure on margins, erodes rewards for risk-taking, and does nothing to address the underlying issue of low workforce participation. Rather than encouraging productivity, innovation and investment, it risks accelerating the movement of capital, talent and entrepreneurial energy to more business-friendly environments such as Dubai, Singapore, and Switzerland.”

Jonathan Read, Director of Global Sales & Partnerships UK&I, Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland

“My personal opinion (as a hotelier operating within Leonardo Hotels), is one of disappointment in the UK government’s latest budget. It provides no meaningful support for businesses in our sector and shows little leadership in spurring on promised economic growth.

“For a government that pledged to be the fastest-growing G7 economy, this Budget offered no bold plan for growth. Instead, has left businesses facing a complex climate rather than a simpler route to growth.

“Meanwhile, mid and large sized hospitality venues remain taxed out by the broken business rates system, and the Budget’s token relief – just a quarter of last year’s promised discount – means many of us still face higher rate bills. We are also grappling with steep wage and tax hikes with no offsetting help, and the new tourist levy is effectively a direct tax on hotels; an increased burden at a time when the industry is already under pressure.”

Julie Shorrock, Managing Director, Hotel and Travel Solutions (HTS):

“The measures outlined offer some potential support for the hospitality sector, but several areas require urgent clarification. The proposed Business Rates Relief is welcome in principle, but venues need clear guidance on the new multipliers and detailed qualification criteria before they can assess the real impact on their business operations and any potential knock-on for end-customer costs.

“The introduction of the £2,000 pension salary-sacrifice allowance is interesting, but with implementation not planned until 2029, it remains uncertain and difficult to factor into long-term planning.

“And further changes to the minimum wage, while understandable in the broader economic context, will put additional pressure on an already cost-strained hospitality industry. We need complementary measures to ensure that businesses can absorb these increases sustainably while continuing to invest in their people, or we risk losing further talent and our longer-term pipeline of industry leaders.”

Glenn Bowdin, Chair of UKEVENTS:

“The Autumn Budget recognises some of the priorities UKEVENTS included in our submission, with measures on business rates, regional investment and skills that will help parts of our sector. However, the events industry remains an economic powerhouse with untapped potential.

“We continue to urge government to extend tax reliefs for new and regional event productions based on the established model for film and extend the VisitBritain Business Events Growth Programme, both of which have evidence for supporting growth. We welcome the steps taken and urge continued collaboration to ensure events are at the heart of the UK’s growth agenda.”

David Tremmil, Vice-Chair and Advocacy Director of beam:

“While households will see welcome cost-of-living support, yesterday’s Budget did not provide a dedicated support package for the business events, meetings, hospitality or visitor-economy sectors. These industries remain essential drivers of economic growth, skills, inward investment and regional development.

“beam will continue to engage with government to ensure that future policy recognises the strategic importance of our sector. We urge the Chancellor to work with our industry on long-term business-rates reform, skills development, transport infrastructure and sustainability to ensure the UK remains a competitive global destination for business events.”

Kelsey Grammer, 70, reveals family’s reaction to newborn baby boy

6 November 2025

Kelsey Grammer says his family are “ecstatic” about his new baby boy.

Kelsey Grammer’s family are delighted with his baby news

The 70-year-old actor welcomed son Christopher into the world last month, and he insisted his loved ones – including children Faith, 12, Gabriel, 10, and eight-year-old James with wife Kayte Walsh, as well as Spencer, 41, Greer, 33, Mason, 23, and Jude, 20, from previously relationships – are happy with their famous dad’s new arrival.

He told PEOPLE magazine: “The family’s ecstatic. We’re all really having a great time. It’s really lovely.”

The Frasier star said it’s been “awesome and fantastic” becoming a dad again, and he’s still on great terms with the rest of his family.

He added: “We are closer than we’ve ever been as a family, and I’m proud of that.”

Kelsey – who stars in new film The Christmas Ring – also opened up on his plans for the festive season.

He said: “The family doesn’t like turkey quite so much, but I try to do prime rib and a turkey and a chicken, and we do Yorkshire puddings and mint sauce and all kinds of stuff.

“That’s about it, really. We love trimming the tree. We go early on the tree, at least three weeks before Christmas, right after Thanksgiving.”

Late last month, Kelsey announced he and his fourth wife Kayte has welcomed their new son into the world.

He told Pod Meets World: “Just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids!

“It was like three days ago. Christopher just joined the family.”

The Frasier star – who acted with daughter Kandace on the sitcom’s revival and with so Spencer in TV film The 12 Days of Christmas Eve – loves getting to spend time with his kids, particularly having them all “in the same room together”.

He previously told Variety: “My work has allowed me to do that.

“I’ve been given this great experience. It’s been painful and challenging and hard and tragic – all those things. But boy, it’s a great life. And I want to pass that on to them.”

Sydney Sweeney on Trump’s Reaction to Her American Eagle Ad: ‘It Was Surreal’

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Over the past year, Sydney Sweeney has starred in two movies and a TV show, and filmed season three of one of the buzziest TV shows of the decade. But it’s her personal life that’s become something of a national obsession. In May, she confirmed she had ended her engagement with her fiancé, Jonathan Davino; around the same time, she released a controversial, limited-edition batch of soaps allegedly made up of her bathwater in collaboration with the men’s brand Dr. Squatch; then, in August, she starred in an ad campaign for American Eagle ad which ignited a national debate.

In the wake of the discourse, the 28-year-old did not address the backlash directly. Instead, social media commentators led the charge—including President Donald Trump. On August 4, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Sweeney had “the hottest ad out there,” and then went on to declare that “being WOKE is for losers,” among other strange claims.

Now, in an interview for GQ’s Men of the Year issue, Sweeney has finally addressed the reactions to the ad, as well as her thoughts on the president’s statement. “It was surreal,” Sweeney said when asked about Trump’s post.

As for the backlash itself, Sweeney said, “I did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.”

She went on to say that she wasn’t paying much attention to the discourse at its height because she was working such long hours filming Euphoria. “I wasn’t thinking of it like that, of any of it,” she explained. “I kind of just put my phone away. I was filming every day. I’m filming Euphoria, so I’m working 16-hour days and I don’t really bring my phone on set, so I work and then I go home and I go to sleep. So I didn’t really see a lot of it.”

As a refresher, in the ad, Sweeney referenced Brooke Shields’s controversial 1980 Calvin Klein jeans ad with a monologue about genes. The campaign tag line for Sweeney’s American Eagle collaboration was “My jeans are blue.” On social media, some claimed that Sweeney, who has stayed mum on her political affiliations for her entire career but is rumored to be a registered Republican, was signaling a belief in the superiority of her genes, specifically blue eyes. The reaction, and then the reaction to the reaction, quickly snowballed on social media and beyond, becoming something of a litmus test for one’s progressive or conservative bonafides.

Mase Recalls Reaction To His Ex-Partner Asking Him For Marriage

by jummy84 October 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Mase, also known as Ma$e, shocked fans when he recently recalled his reaction to an ex-partner asking him for marriage. He didn’t name the woman in question. Still, social media wasted no time popping off with reactions, reigniting the new-school debate of “who should propose” in a relationship!

Mase Claims He Challenged Ex-GF To Propose First

The ‘Harlem World’ rapper recalled this particular experience during a live event for his podcast ‘It Is What It Is.’ The show is a daily and celebrity segment hosted by Ma$e, Cam’ron and Treasure ‘Stat Baby’ Wilson. During the live version at ComplexCon, which took place on the 25th and 26th of this month, Mase answered the question “What’s the craziest thing you’ve asked from a potential partner?” After repeating the question, he responded:

“When I first…thought about getting married, I asked her to buy the ring if she was serious.”

He doubled down on his recollection while the crowd audibly responded to his reveal. In the clip shared by The Shade Room (see below), someone can be heard saying, “Yo that’s wild,” Meanwhile, on stage, Mase was unfazed, adding “We’re different.” And as the crowd got louder with cheers, he sat there cheesing! See the brief, viral clip below.

Is The Rapper Speaking About His Ex-Wife?

As mentioned, Ma$e didn’t name drop the woman he challenged to put a ring on his finger. However, heads quickly turned to his first and only ex-wife, Twyla Betha. They were married between 2001 and 2014, before he filed for divorce in April of that last year. By that point they had been separated for about two years, per TMZ.

They settled in June 2014, per the outlet. She walked away with physical custody of their children, while he got “reasonable visitation.” Back then that meant up to three hours a day with a 12-hour advance notice. Additionally, he was made responsible for $6,000 in monthly spousal and child support payments. As for Betha, she was ordered to hand over all of Mase’s musical equipment.

Social Media Weighs In On Ma$e’s Request

In The Shade Room’s comment section, over 3,000 roommates spoke out about his unique request from his ex-girlfriend. Some roomies weren’t feeling how he handled the marriage proposition, while others seemed to applaud his lil’ safeguard. Roomies, where do YOU stand? Keep reading to see what was said, then sound off in the comment section!

“I’m so glad God has blessed me to have never met a man like this,” @theluxurylocker commented.

“Mase you tripping now… that’s doing too much,” @lawrence3h said.

“The flex at the end took me out 😂😂😂😂😂😂,” @360jeezy added.

Meanwhile, @real.estate.rae commented, “Turn the camera around. That’s what I want to see. Who’s clapping 👀”

@blacjakkk wasn’t feeling the route Ma$e took. He wrote, “Naw knowin me I can’t. I’ll let my Girl pick the ring she like but I’m paying for it. Plain simple.”

“He said HE thought about getting married …but asked HER to buy the ring if she was serious. I bet she made him the joke, I hope,” @nikkiyanikkiya added.

@_unruly_kev reminded folks that Mase has held the same view in his music. He wrote, “So y’all missed when he sang ‘Mase ain’t the one that’ll get you the stone but on your days alone I can make ya moan.’”

@sw3etto0th made it clear that life isn’t for her, writing, “I rebuke this type of man in my life. *throws oil* It’s the proud chuckle for me 🥲.”

“That’s just a Virgo y’all 🤣 we like that. 🤣,” @djvirgob wrote, seemingly coming to the rapper’s defense. @street_creedd had similar energy, saying, “He can’t even joke around nomore.”

Parineeti Chopra’s Hilarious Reaction To Becoming A ‘Full-Fledged Mom’ After Welcoming Baby Boy With Raghav Chadha: Read Here!

by jummy84 October 29, 2025
written by jummy84

New mommy, Parineeti Chopra, who recently welcomed her first child with husband Raghav Chadha, marked her new phase of life with a humorous social media post. The actress shared a meme that perfectly captured the joys and challenges of becoming a “full-fledged mother.” Fans loved her lighthearted take on motherhood, which came shortly after the couple celebrated the birth of their baby boy. Earlier, Parineeti Chopra had opened up about her physical transformation for Chamkila, revealing how she had to gain weight for the role. Her recent post reflects her trademark wit and relatable charm as she embraces motherhood with joy.

Aamir Khan’s meme perfectly captures her reaction

The actress posted a funny clip from Aamir Khan’s iconic film Andaz Apna Apna, where his character bursts into laughter only to suddenly switch to a nervous cry moments later. The video ends with a dubbed voice, adding an extra dose of humour to the relatable post.  “Khatam (finished, tata bye bye).” The video was titled, “Me, realising that I am a full-fledged mother now and not just pregnant anymore.”

Parineeti's satire on full fledge mom

Parineeti and Raghav announced the arrival of their baby boy on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt note that read: “He’s finally here! Our baby boy. And we literally can’t remember life before! Arms full, our hearts are fuller. First we had each other, now we have everything. With gratitude, Parineeti & Raghav.”

Parineeti Opens Up About Body Image and Her Transformation for Chamkila

Last year, during her appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Parineeti opened up about how gaining weight impacted her professional life and drew criticism for her changing appearance.  “I lost brands, I didn’t do events because I was looking so terrible. People started saying, ‘She’s pregnant, she’s had liposuction, she’s done Botox on her face’. I used to look at all this and think, ‘You will never understand what I’m going through’,” she stated.

Expanding on the topic, she further added: “It’s not healthy at all. In fact, when I signed Chamkila, I was at my peak fitness; I had been working out for two years, and I almost had abs. When I signed the film, Imtiaz told me I don’t really look like Amarjot, and I resolved to change that. In one minute, I forgot all the hard work I’d done for the previous two years. I gained 16 kgs. I used to eat heavy meals and go to sleep so that I would look puffy the next morning. I wanted a double chin, I wanted my eyes to look small. I used to eat rice and rotis in numbers. It wasn’t just fun and games, eating pizza all day.”

On the professional front, Parineeti Chopra was last seen in the 2024 biographical musical drama Amar Singh Chamkila, directed by Imtiaz Ali. She portrayed the role of Amarjot Kaur in the film, which is currently streaming on Netflix.

Bad Bunny's Super Bowl Controversy: History Behind MAGA's Reaction

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Controversy: History Behind MAGA’s Reaction

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

When the NFL, Roc Nation, and Apple Music announced that Bad Bunny would be the 2026 Super Bowl halftime performer, the noise started almost immediately. On one side, there were cheers and excitement: His fans recognized the historic nature of the performance, which will go down in the books as the first Super Bowl halftime entirely in Spanish. Plus, the announcement came toward the tail end of yet another massive year for Bad Bunny — after a triumphant 31-date residency in Puerto Rico, an Amazon stream of the concert that broke records, and the blockbuster success of his chart-busting album Debí Tirar Más Fotos.

On the other side, there was just as much commotion, but these conversations were almost hysterical — and far uglier. Conservatives blasted the NFL’s choice, taking issue with pretty much every facet of Latin music’s most visible star. His music? Unlistenable. His politics? Unacceptable. His lyrics in Spanish? Un-American.

Bad Bunny has been such a beloved figure across the global music landscape precisely because he’s been authentically himself, embracing fashion and aesthetic choices that subvert gender norms and refusing to make palatable, commercial pop in English. He’s been unafraid to speak his mind in his songs, often speaking out about difficulties in Puerto Rico, like gentrification, economic difficulties, and the long-term impacts of colonization. And while he isn’t a polemical artist who staged long tirades against the administration, he has stood up about issues he cares about, such as the rights of immigrants amid the government’s cruel deportation policies. In an interview with i-D magazine, he shared part of the reason he opted against touring in the U.S. was because he didn’t want ICE to terrorize his largely Latino fanbase outside his concerts.

This makes him a target for conservatives. Newsmax host Greg Kelly called for a boycott of the NFL, insisting that Bad Bunny “hates America, hates President Trump, hates ICE, hates the English language! He’s just a terrible person.” Even the highest levels of government have gotten involved. Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security secretary, threatened that immigration agents would be “all over” the event. Trump later went on Newsmax to bash the artist, saying, “I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is,” Trump said. “I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Editor’s picks

Turning Point USA, the conservative youth-focused group founded by the late Charlie Kirk, decided it would organize a “counterprogram” during Bad Bunny’s performance, calling it “The All-American Halftime Show” to celebrate “faith, family, and freedom.” A website contact form gives followers a chance to request music and artists, including worship music, country, and “anything in English.” MAGA supporters drafted inane petitions to replace his performance and even called for his deportation — despite the fact that Puerto Rico is a territory of the U.S. and he’s an American citizen.

As maddening and outsized as the reaction feels, it’s part of an unfortunate, small-minded tradition of sidelining and othering Latin artists in the United States, even though these musicians are often American and represent huge swaths of the population. These moments are callous and drenched in xenophobia, yet they go back decades. In 1968, for example, the Puerto Rican artist José Feliciano performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the 1968 World Series — only he did it in a stripped-back, Latin-influenced style on his acoustic guitar. The performance became a lightning rod; many people took it as if it was some kind of counterculture protest and were confused by Feliciano’s long hair and sunglasses (which he wore because he was born blind.) They raged to radio stations and sent him hate mail, with some even calling for his deportation — even though Feliciano, like Bad Bunny, was born in Puerto Rico and is a U.S. citizen. History, and ignorance, repeats itself, and in this case, it had dire consequences on Feliciano’s career for a few years.

Related Content

“I was a little depressed, to tell you the truth,” Feliciano said later. “And then they stopped playing me. Like I had the plague, or something.” Years later, in 2018, he reflected on the incident and shared that his rendition was actually his way of honoring his country from a deeply felt place. “When I did the anthem, I did it with the understanding in my heart and mind that I did it because I’m a patriot,” Feliciano said. “I was trying to be a grateful patriot. I was expressing my feelings for America when I did the anthem my way instead of just singing it with an orchestra.” (Perhaps not coincidentally, Bad Bunny paid homage to Feliciano as a pioneer and trailblazer, bringing him onstage during his 2023 headlining set.)

Other examples of bringing Latin artists onto mainstream stages have come with an unnecessary amount of controversy, even decades later. Take the 1999 Grammys: Back then, Ricky Martin was a star on the rise, having successfully plotted a career from child boy band Menudo to breakout solo act. He had already become a household name in Latin music, and his album Vuelve was nominated for a Grammy for Best Latin Pop. His label head Tommy Mottola began pushing to have Martin perform one of the tracks — the famed “Cup of Life” FIFA anthem that Martin had written for the 1998 World Cup — as an opening number for the Grammys telecast. Despite Martin’s stage presence and star power, producers for the awards show disapproved of the idea, convinced a Latin act singing primarily in Spanish wouldn’t work for the show.

Mottola later recalled how intense the pushback was. “There was tremendous resistance from the Grammys,” Mottola told Billboard. “They did not want an ‘unknown’ to perform, yet we had already sold 10 million copies of Vuelve worldwide. To me, that was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE.  We had enormous leverage at that time with almost every major superstar on our label. We heavily voiced our ‘opinion and influence’ and said: ‘Ricky must have a performance on the Grammys!’ No was not an option.”

It took Mottola fighting for that moment to make it happen — and a standing ovation and thousands of records sold later eventually proved that the Grammys short-sighted biases didn’t hold any water. It seems even more ridiculous today, now that Latin music continues to generate more than $1 billion in revenue. Bad Bunny later played that same slot at the Grammy awards — and while he didn’t appear to face opposition from the show’s higher-ups, he did go viral when captions popped up on the CBS telecast, describing his lyrics as “singing in non-English.”

The all-too-frequent xenophobic knee-jerk reaction to Latin acts is often triggered by language alone. Just this June, the singer Nezza, who is of Colombian and Dominican descent, was asked to do the national anthem at a Dodgers game. She had prepared to do “El Pendón Estrellado,” a Spanish version written in 1945 by Clotilde Arias after the Division of Cultural Cooperation of the Department of State asked for translated versions of the “Star Spangled Banner.” (These were solicited as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “Good Neighbor Policy” toward Latin America.) According to some reports, Dodgers officials told her at the last minute she couldn’t perform in Spanish — but she did so anyway, angering conservatives and sparking outrage and insults online.

Nezza explained her decision at the time in a statement to Rolling Stone, saying “representation matters.” She added, “For anyone clutching their pearls, it’s important to know: in 1945, President Franklin D. Roosevelt himself commissioned an official Spanish version of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ to honor and include Latin Americans. That version — ‘El Pendón Estrellado’ — tells the exact same story, word for word in meaning, and is set to the exact same melody. The heart of the anthem does not change with the language. So why was I told I couldn’t sing it? Make it make sense.”

Trending Stories

Longtime prejudices have meant that Latin artists have been regarded with suspicion, doubt, and even outrage throughout music history, but these attitudes have twisted into something far more intense and sinister as a result of the current administration. Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance comes at a time when the government has antagonized Latino communities, spread anti-Latino rhetoric, and treated immigrants with abject cruelty, callously celebrating images of forceful, often violent arrests and brutal detainments. Even speaking Spanish is othered by conservatives and painted as anti-American. As soon as Trump came into office, he passed an executive order to make English the official language of the U.S. while the White House removed Spanish translations from its official websites. On social media, viral videos have shown right-wingers confronting people speaking Spanish and associating the language with those who don’t “belong” here, ignoring the fact that 18 percent of the population is bilingual.

But despite the rhetoric rooted in such an ugly history, Bad Bunny will still take the stage in February, and he’ll perform his songs in the language he wrote them in. That moment will represent millions of people in this country, including many of the Latinos who make up 20 percent of the population. What he chooses to say or do will ultimately be up to him, just the inherent act of him stepping under that spotlight will be a political statement — one that will speak to his roots, his lineage, and the history of Latin artists who have helped bring him here. No matter what, it will be a moment of self-expression — and one that’s deeply American, too.

Sonakshi Sinha, Zaheer Iqbal’s Mosque Video Is Serene; But Online Reaction Isn’t

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

In a newly released advertisement for Abu Dhabi tourism, actor-couple Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are seen exploring the serene beauty of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The video, shared by Sonakshi on her Instagram, has garnered significant attention, not just for its stunning visuals but also for igniting a conversation about the public’s perception of celebrities, especially when compared to a similar recent promotion featuring Deepika Padukone.

In the promotional clip, Sonakshi and Zaheer are depicted walking gracefully through the grand corridors and courtyards of the iconic mosque. The couple posed for several shots against the backdrop of the mosque’s magnificent architecture. For the visit, Sonakshi was dressed in an elegant green and white printed short kurta and pyjama set, with her head respectfully covered by a matching green dupatta. Zaheer complemented her look in a black shirt paired with green trousers. Sharing the video with her followers, Sonakshi captioned the post, “Found a little sukoon (peace), right here in Abu Dhabi! @visitabudhabi #InAbuDhabi #ad.”

The post was quickly met with a wave of comments from fans and followers. Many praised the couple’s appearance and the aesthetic quality of the video. One user commented, “Your dress totally matches the aesthetic,” while another simply wrote, “Beautiful.” However, the conversation soon took a more complex turn as users began to draw parallels between Sonakshi’s post and the recent criticism faced by Deepika Padukone, who was also featured in a tourism ad where she wore a hijab.

One fan pointed out the perceived double standard in the public’s reaction, writing, “So it’s normal for Sonakshi but not for Deepika?? Both visited the same mosque, and both looked wonderfully amazing with their husbands. Can we stop trolling people and let them live peacefully?” This sentiment was echoed by others who defended the act of covering one’s head as a sign of respect in a place of worship, regardless of one’s personal faith. “In a temple or a mosque, it’s a spiritual thing to cover the head, whether or not you’re a Hindu or a Muslim,” another person commented, highlighting the cultural significance of the gesture.

This public discourse comes as Sonakshi and Zaheer continue to share glimpses of their life together since their wedding. The couple tied the knot on June 23 of last year in an intimate ceremony at their Mumbai residence, surrounded by close family and friends. The private affair was followed by a grand reception at Bastian, attended by numerous Bollywood celebrities. In a heartfelt wedding post, they shared, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it.”
On the professional front, Sonakshi Sinha’s career is bustling with activity. She was last seen in the psychological thriller Nikita Roy, which was released in theatres on July 18. The film was particularly special as it marked the directorial debut of her brother, Kussh Sinha.

Kareena Kapoor shares Taimur’s funny reaction after she stopped paparazzi from clicking kids: ‘Why can’t they click me?’

Bollywood actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have always been among the few celebrity couples who never hid their children’s faces from the paparazzi. However, things changed when Saif was attacked by an intruder in January this year, after which Kareena requested the paparazzi not to photograph their kids. In a recent podcast with Soha Ali Khan, Kareena revealed Taimur’s hilarious reaction to her decision.

Kareena Kapoor recalls Taimur being upset after she asked paparazzi not to click him.

Kareena Kapoor on raising kids in paparazzi culture

Kareena spoke about not growing up in a paparazzi culture and explained how she tries to protect her sons as they grow up in an era of constant public attention. She said, “I have to be thick-skinned, and there’s no other way out. Because if you give in to the toxicity of all of this and get into it, it only feeds it more. So I have to pull back. Luckily, the children are not yet exposed to Instagram and Twitter. They are being photographed, and they understand that their parents are famous.”

When asked if her sons ever questioned why strangers constantly take their pictures with big cameras, Kareena replied, “Jeh doesn’t ask. But Tim got used to being clicked, and when I told the paparazzi not to take the kids’ photos, Tim asked me, ‘Why did you ask them not to click me?’ I said, because you’re not a star. He said, ‘But they’re clicking you na, why can’t they click me?’ I said, That’s because I’m famous, you’re just my son. Now he’s figured it out. He’s calculating that basically, he’ll have to become like Lionel Messi or Virat Kohli to get famous. So I told him, you think about how you want to become famous. But now, he’s not bothered anymore.”

Taimur Ali Khan, the elder son of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, has been one of the most talked-about celebrity kids since his birth on 20 December 2016. He became a media sensation, with his adorable looks and playful expressions winning the hearts of fans and photographers alike. He was often photographed on his way to and from school and became known for cheerfully waving at the paparazzi. His popularity grew so much that Taimur dolls even began selling in the market.

Kareena Kapoor’s upcoming film

Kareena is all set to share the screen with Prithviraj Sukumaran in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming crime drama Daayra. The film went on floors in September this year and is expected to release in 2026. Sharing her excitement about the project, Kareena said, “I cannot wait to work with one of the finest directors we have, @meghnagulzar, and alongside the magnificent @therealprithvi, whose work I deeply admire. To my dream team, #Daayra, let’s do this.”

Why The Life Of A Showgirl Reaction Has Been So Heated

My drive to the cinema, however, was filled with mixed feelings, as less than 12 hours before, I’d had an extremely lukewarm reaction to Swift’s 12th record, The Life of a Showgirl. I wasn’t the only one who’d picked up on a significant vibe shift and lack of…pizzazz that was promised from the Max Martin-produced record, marketed as a behind-the-curtain reflection on the pomp, grandiosity, chaos and confusion that comes with being a showgirl.

Instead, the record reads more like an attempt at appearing nonchalant towards the negative noise, while simultaneously only focusing on it, sandwiched between a few peppy love songs. Unlike the defined sonic-directions of Swift’s previous 11 records, there’s little through-line between the palette, and at times, the writing leaves little to the imagination. To me, there’s a distinct lack of yearning on this record — a defining trait in Swift’s lyricism.
