Chance the Rapper Says He & Ex-Wife Kirsten Corley Are ‘Locked In Forever’ After Finalizing Divorce Earlier This Year: ‘We’re Learning How To Be A Unit’

Chance the Rapper says he and ex-wife Kirsten Corley remain deeply connected despite their split.

On a recent episode of “Funky Friday” with Cam Newton, Chance reflected on co-parenting and the bond they’ve built around their daughters Kensli, 9, and Marli, 6.

“We’re two humans that have known each other forever it feels like,” he said. “Even if none of that existed, we’d be locked in forever.”

While he admitted their dynamic isn’t always picture-perfect, Chance made it clear they’ve found balance. “I’m not going to make it seem like I send her ‘Grand rising, queen’ every day,” he joked.

He also emphasized their shared commitment to raising strong, unified children. “We learn how to make concessions to do what’s best for the kids,” Chance explained.

The Grammy winner added that they even travel together and prioritize stability. “Ain’t nobody coming between us,” he said. “It only makes sense for us to be on the same page.”

What are your thoughts on their co-parenting arrangement?

The Ba***ds of Bollywood trailer: The trailer for Aryan Khan’s debut Netflix web series The Ba***ds of Bollywood is out now after releasing the preview last month. The trailer hints that the seven-episode series is filled with sharp one-liners and larger-than-life moments. Produced by Gauri Khan via Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt. Ltd, the series will feature cameos by Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and others.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood trailer: Shah Rukh Khan plays a pun on his moniker, Badshah.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood trailer

The series follows Aasmaan Singh (Lakshya), an ambitious newcomer with big dreams. With his loyal best friend Parvaiz (Raghav Juyal), sharp-tongued manager Sanya (Anya Singh), and his supportive family by his side — his uncle Avtar (Manoj Pahwa), mother Neeta Singh (Mona Singh), and father Rajat Singh (Vijayant Kohli) — Aasmaan steps into Bollywood.

He soon finds out that dreams come at a price, especially when ambition and ego collide. Aasmaan finds himself up against his biggest challenge yet, superstar Ajay Talvar (Bobby Deol), when he is cast opposite his daughter, Bollywood newcomer Karishma (Sahher Bambba). Throw the shrewd producer Freddy Sodawallah (Manish Chaudhari) into the mix, along with Jaraj Saxena (Rajat Bedi), a yesteryear actor desperate for a comeback, and what follows is a sharp, self-aware saga, set against the irresistible spectacle of Hindi cinema.

The trailer also teases a reunion between Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. In one scene, Aamir discusses a scene with Rajamouli. Later, he dismisses Aasmaan for choosing vada pav over idly sambar. Avtar also hilariously mistakes Shah Rukh for rapper Badshah and dismisses him, making him miffed.

About The Ba***ds of Bollywood

Cameos by Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, SS Rajamouli, Badshah, Disha Patani, and more are also expected. The Ba***ds of Bollywood will premiere on Netflix on 18 September.

The music is in collaboration with T-Series. Shashwat Sachdev composed the album, with guest composers Anirudh Ravichander and Ujwal Gupta. The first track, Badli Si Hawa Hai, composed by Anirudh Ravichander and sung by Arijit Singh and Amira Gill, has already been released. Adding to the playlist is Tu Pehli Tu Aakhri, composed, produced, and arranged by Shashwat Sachdev with vocals from Arijit Singh.

Dad Talks Viral Arrest & Shares Message From Rapper

Lil Nas X has been riding that ‘Old Town Road’ for years. From taking the world by storm to breaking records left and right. But now, his dad, Robert Stafford, is opening up about his son’s recent headline-making moment, making us wonder: after all the fame and the wild ride, can he keep riding, or is it time for a new path? Now, his father wants to clear the air and set the record straight.

Lil Nas X’s Dad Opens Up About His Son’s Arrest

Now, his father, Robert Stafford, is speaking out — and he’s opening up on his son’s “breakdown.” In an interview with The Times, Stafford painted a heartbreaking picture of a young star buckling under the weight of fame, personal trauma, and family pressure. “That’s not even him,” Stafford said after watching the viral footage.

“I went to visit him in jail and as soon as I walked through that door, I couldn’t do anything but cry,” Stafford revealed. “To see my baby boy on the other side of that glass. We shed tears with each other for a minute. And, I had to tell him that ‘what you’re going through is normal’.” He also told the rapper, “We all have breakdowns every now and then, but the difference is, yours get played out in the public eye.”

What Does His Father Really Think Is Going On?

Stafford also revealed the emotional toll of watching his son struggle to care for a mother battling addiction. In 2021, Hill’s mom was seen begging for food in Atlanta — a moment that went viral and clearly hit home. Despite Hill’s attempts to help, Stafford says she’s resisted rehab, and that pain still haunts him. “That can weigh heavily on your heart,” he said. And, while the world may have judged the arrest clip quickly, his father reminds us that being famous means even your darkest moments get turned into spectacle.

“For a 26-year-old to have to deal with what he’s dealing with — to be a breadwinner for a lot of people, the inability to change his mother’s situation and the pressure he puts on himself,” Stafford said of what Lil Nas X may be facing internally.

Why Exactly Is Lil Nas X Making Headlines?

Montero Hill, better known to the world as Lil Nas X, was once crowned the future of pop after the record-breaking success of ‘Old Town Road.’ But recently, the 26-year-old was arrested in Los Angeles after being found wandering the streets almost naked — just underwear and cowboy boots. And, he was reportedly in distress. Authorities say he injured a police officer during the encounter. Furthermore, he was hospitalized for a suspected overdose shortly after the incident.

Hill now faces three felony battery charges and one felony count of resisting an officer, with a possible sentence of up to five years if convicted. He’s currently out on a $75,000 bond and ordered to attend drug treatment.

“When I went to visit, he asked me to say, ‘Tell everybody I’m sorry they saw me like that.’ Even in that moment, he was apologizing to people for something he was going through,” his father said.

Chaos broke out at Drake’s October’s Very Own (OVO) Manhattan flagship store in the NoHo area on Tuesday afternoon when a woman carrying a hammer smashed the upscale boutique. Police reported the attack happened at about 4:30 p.m., leaving approximately $24,000 in damage.

The suspect, 31-year-old Queens resident Shauna Stoner, was allegedly seen bursting into the store wearing a denim jacket, leather pants, and toting a Telfar bag. Witnesses claimed she tore garments from racks, painted merchandise with paint, and yanked items from hangers before taking the destruction up a notch by shattering windows using a hammer. She allegedly brandished a knife at one point but did not try to steal anything.

Arrest on Great Jones Street
The woman left the store and proceeded north on the Bowery. Staff, exercising restraint, warned authorities. Police caught up with her in minutes on Great Jones Street, where she had shed her jacket and was down to her underwear, according to reports.
Photographers who were present observed her yelling that Drake had “stolen her designs” and that she planned on “cutting up his clothes.” She has since been arrested for criminal mischief and arson. Employees confirmed they had no previous relationship with her.
OVO: A Streetwear Powerhouse

Launched by Drake in 2011, OVO is a global streetwear label with stores in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., for which it sells high-end merchandise like $150 hoodies and $60 T-shirts. A spokesperson for the rapper would not comment on the incident.

Drake in the Limelight for New Documentary
At the same time, Drake is making headlines for reasons other than his music: upcoming documentary Degrassi: Whatever It Takes, from director Lisa Rideout. It debuts at TIFF on September 13 and looks back at his early success playing Jimmy Brooks in Degrassi. In the trailer, Drake says: “I didn’t have a good time in high school… then I got the part. And man, what a crazy ride that began.”

Young Thug’s Friend PeeWee Roscoe Addresses Rumors Rapper Snitched On Him: ‘Jeff Clean As Listerine’

Whew, boy drama!

Young Thug is facing backlash online after fans resurfaced an alleged leaked interrogation tape that appears to feature him mentioning Peewee Roscoe. The two-hour clip has gone viral.

Roscoe was previously accused of sh**ting at Lil Wayne’s tour bus in 2015, but he is now stepping forward to defend his longtime friend.

In an Instagram video, Roscoe dismissed the online accusations and stood firmly by Thug. “Jeff clean as listerine,” he said, making it clear he does not believe Thug cooperated against him. Roscoe also added that Thug had always tried to “pull me out the hole,” and he insisted the rapper never snitched on him.

The tape originally surfaced nearly two years ago, but fans have reignited the drama on Twitter. Some tied the controversy to Thug’s feud with Gunna, though Roscoe’s defense may shift the conversation.

What are your thoughts on this messy situation?

Chance the Rapper: Star Line Album Review

Chance the Rapper: Star Line Album Review

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Chance doesn’t seem at ease putting it all out there, which, in a twisted way, only makes me want it more. With his usual mix of sun-kissed melodies and squawking ad-libs, inoffensively sweeping soul beats with gospel touches by his usual production braintrust, he opens up just enough to get the internet off his back. “Some days I just ghost her, some days I’m supposed to/The crib feel like a gunfight, but them strollers, that’s the holster,” he raps on “The Highs & Lows,” the easygoing piano-led beat allows his words to breathe. He sounds a little lonely and sad, like he’s skipping rocks at the lake on “Back to the Go,” as he thinks about the effect his relationship falling apart will have on his kids and having to spend his days in a bachelor pad. It’s his most direct writing and, unfortunately, it’s done over a rock-rap instrumental that sounds like it was ripped from a 2DopeBoyz blog post.

There’s a suggestion that his self-esteem has taken a hit on “Pretty,” where, over a vocal sample pitched-up to Heatmakerz levels, he works through his insecurities in real time: “My mom told me I’m a nice person/I got left but maybe I ain’t find the right person/I got clean, maybe I ain’t get the right version.” There are a few striking moments like these where Chance allows himself to feel unconsciously exposed. But most of the time, it feels like you’re hearing Chance’s emotions once they’ve already been self-consciously processed, which is less personal and interesting. For example, “Space & Time,” a bland and distant ballad where he builds up the maturity to face the crib where he thought he’d raise a family, sounds straight off the Lion King soundtrack.

It’s human to be tentative when writing about intimate experiences, but Chance rarely lets those bits of pure feeling slip through the cracks. His writing feels heavily combed over, and though he calls himself an “emotional rollercoaster,” I only get that because he said so. Otherwise he doesn’t allow himself to be potentially picked apart or embarrassed, like on Acid Rap when he downplays his Blackness to girls in an attempt to get laid. Chance would rather cloak his feelings in his reliable wordplay (“You know it’s dirty when the sink dirty,” he raps on “Negro Problem”) or shift the focus away from his relationship entirely. “No More Old Men,” with longtime collaborator Jamila Woods, is his sweet spot, vividly describing childhood memories (the familial vibe of the barbershop; his uncles on the block drinking beers and betting on boxing matches) as a way of messaging the lack of male mentors in his hometown nowadays. As well as “Letters,” where he calls out the unholy actions of both his local parish and Joel Osteen-style megachurches. Both are solid and impassioned Chance the Rapper songs—he’s bending his voice, toggling between moods—that show the totality of what’s on his mind, but I feel his message more than I actually want to listen to him on the same frictionless, loungey beats that haven’t sounded fresh in a decade.

It’s frustrating that the main goal of Star Line seems to be for Chance to reset the board without getting shit on. That’s an uninspired mission that mostly relies on Chance reverting back to his corny writing exercises (the greek mythology bit on “Space & Time”), trusted lighthearted stoner anthems (“Tree”), and knack for bringing a cross-generational cast of likable characters into his world like he did on Coloring Book: Some work (DJ Pharris’ drop on the intro; BabyChiefDoit’s foul-mouthed drill punchlines; Do or Die’s welcomed nostalgia tour) and some don’t (Lil Wayne in 2025; stale BJ the Chicago Kid parts; a Jay Electronica verse that sounds like it was recorded in a Rothschild family dungeon). It’s rarely bad, just safe, doing more to remind us of the old days than to embrace the musical crossroads he’s at. That feels like a missed opportunity to fill in the blanks that are still there.
