Maharani Season 4 Review
As rightly compared previously, Politics is just like a game of chess. Huma Qureshi, who portrays Rani Bharti, returns as the CM of Bihar. The opening scene highlights that Navin (Amit Sial) is visited by Murad Patel in jail from the PM Sudhakar Sriniwas Joshi’s (Vipin Sharma) office. He questions how to trouple Rani’s sarkaar and doesn’t leave a stone unturned to find out how. What Rani has to face now is either to trust her own instincts or close people in this game of dirty politics. This season raises questions of whether Rani will become the next PM, challenging Joshi and his alliance. Will Rani be able to keep her alliance close and enemies away? To find out what happens, read our review of Maharani Season 4.
What Works
Huma Qureshi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Shardul Bhardwaj, and other cast members play strong roles. Their accent and body language show every actor’s adaptability for their craft. The plot is good, however could have been carried out better. Dialogue writing and delivery are commendable.
What Doesn’t Work
Most scenes have been dragged. The plot twists are quite predictable and don’t carry enough weight for a political drama.
Technical Analysis
Direction
The direction in Maharani season 4 feels uninspired and lacks the precision needed for a compelling political drama. Although the premise holds promise, the storytelling often loses focus, with pacing issues and stretched-out sequences. The energy and urgency that once defined Rani’s political journey are notably absent, replaced by clichés and predictable moments.
Writing & Screenplay
The writing disappoints with its repetitive tone and lack of emotional grip. What could have been a sharp exploration of power and politics turns into a routine narrative filled with weak dialogue and forced melodrama. The screenplay struggles to weave together the political tension and personal dilemmas, leaving the overall story feeling scattered and inconsistent.
Star Performances
Huma Qureshi remains the show’s saving grace, bringing sincerity and conviction to her role. However, her efforts are weighed down by an uneven script and an underutilised supporting cast. Performances that could have added layers to the story instead feel flat and disconnected.
Conclusion
Maharani season 4 sadly fails to recreate the spark, intensity, and layered storytelling that once made the series compelling. The direction feels uninspired, with inconsistent pacing and scenes that lack dramatic tension. The writing, once sharp and politically charged, now feels diluted by repetitive dialogue and underdeveloped subplots.
Even the lead actors’ sincere effort can’t lift the show from its sluggish execution and emotional flatness. Supporting performances add little depth, leaving the narrative feeling hollow. Overall, the new season struggles to maintain its political intrigue or emotional resonance, making it a disappointing and forgettable continuation.
We hope our review of Maharani Season 4 will help you decide to watch it.

Rani Mukerji And UK PM Keir Starmer’s Unexpected Meeting At YRF Studio – A New Bollywood Diplomacy? | Glamsham.com

written by jummy84
On 8 October Wednesday, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived at the iconic Yash Raj Films (YRF) studio in Mumbai during his two-day trade visit to India. The visit, aimed at increasing business and cultural cooperation, particularly in the creative industry, saw Starmer welcomed warmly by actress Rani Mukerji, YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, and waving children.
Starmer screened the film specially at the studio and held talks with Mukerji and Widhani on how to enhance cooperation between the entertainment industries of the UK and India. The UK Prime Minister noted Bollywood’s rekindled interest in Britain, underlining its ability to drive jobs, investment, and cross-cultural exchange. “Bollywood is back in Britain,” he said, “with opportunity and growth and showcasing the UK as a world-class destination to make films.”
YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani also discussed the importance of the UK to YRF, reminding us that Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) was shot there. The visit comes also after the 30th anniversary of DDLJ and with YRF currently producing Come Fall in Love—a stage adaptation of DDLJ in English—in the UK.
As part of this new collaboration, the British Film Institute and the National Film Development Corporation of India entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU will facilitate co-productions, make sharing talent possible, and open up easier access to UK locations and infrastructure for Indian producers.

Rani Mukerji weighs in on flexible work hours amid Deepika Padukone’s 8hr-shift demand: ‘When Adira was 14 month old…’
by jummy84
written by jummy84
As the film industry continues to discuss Deepika Padukone’s reported request for an eight-hour workday, a demand said to have led to her exit from Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas, actor Rani Mukerji has weighed in with her perspective, drawing from her own experience of balancing career and motherhood.
Rani recalled her schedule when Adira was a toddler
Speaking to ANI, Rani recalled the filming of her 2018 movie Hichki, which took place when her daughter Adira was just 14 months old.
“When I did Hichki, Adira was 14 months old, and I was still breastfeeding her. I had to pump the milk and leave early in the morning to shoot at a college in town. From my home in Juhu to the shoot location, it would take almost two hours due to traffic. So I’d leave by 6:30 a.m. after expressing milk. My first shot was at 8 a.m., and I’d wrap up by 12:30 or 1 p.m. My team and director were very organised. I’d reach home by 3 p.m., before the traffic worsened. That’s how I completed the film.”
She stressed that conversations around flexible working hours in cinema aren’t new but are gaining visibility today because they’re being publicly acknowledged. Rani also highlighted the double standards faced by women in the industry, pointing out that female actors often have to pause or adapt their careers after motherhood, while their male counterparts rarely face the same expectations.
Rani talks about juggling work with motherhood
“These things have always existed. It’s just that now people are openly talking about it. In any profession, if the producer agrees to shorter hours, you go ahead with the project. If not, you opt out. It’s a mutual choice; nothing is forced. Men don’t have to go through a physical transformation. Women, on the other hand, go through both physical and emotional changes after becoming mothers. But I’m very happy being a woman,” she said.
Rani Mukerji recently earned the Best Actress award at the 71st National Film Awards for her performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs. Norway. The film, based on the real-life story of Sagarika Chakraborty, follows a mother’s emotional and legal battle to reclaim her children from the Norwegian foster care system.
Deepika, on the other hand, is busy shooting Shah Rukh Khan’s King which also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Arshad Warsi.
Rani Mukerji Was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s First Choice For Gangubai Kathiawadi Before Alia Bhatt Got The Role | Glamsham.com
by jummy84
written by jummy84
Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi may have become a landmark film for Alia Bhatt, earning her a National Award at the 69th National Film Awards, but the role wasn’t always destined for her. In a recent interview, singer and television host Aditya Narayan revealed that Bhansali originally considered casting Rani Mukerji in the titular role.
In an interview with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their channel, Aditya talked about his professional ups and downs and how he later ended up working with Bhansali in close association. He told that after the flop of his 2010 debut film Shaapit, his career took a downturn. Although the music of the film became popular, the film itself was a flop, and Aditya remained unemployed for almost an entire year. He even remembered an instance when “a ₹2 PR person” did not want to represent him, and all of the offers lost overnight.
It took a turn when he got an offer for hosting on X Factor, where Bhansali was a judge. At Sonu Nigam’s behest, Aditya requested Bhansali if he could take his assistance as he was keen on learning filmmaking. Being initially skeptical, Bhansali didn’t even give him any work for the first week, expecting that Aditya wouldn’t survive. But once he saw his tenacity, Bhansali slowly started giving him work.
Aditya then disclosed that Bhansali had two scripts on his desk during this period—Ram-Leela and Gangubai Kathiawadi. “He showed us the two scripts and asked us which of them was better,” Aditya remembered. “I think he was thinking of making Gangubai Kathiawadi with Rani Mukerji around that time.”. I preferred Ram-Leela more.” Ultimately, Bhansali proceeded with Ram-Leela in 2013, starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, and held onto Gangubai Kathiawadi until he cast Alia Bhatt years later.
Gangubai Kathiawadi, based on a chapter from Hussain Zaidi’s Mafia Queens of Mumbai, tells the story of a young woman who is forced into prostitution and eventually becomes a powerful figure in Mumbai’s red-light district. The film also stars Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Shantanu Maheshwari, Ajay Devgn, and others. It was both a critical and commercial success, earning ₹211.5 crore globally.
