Fans Fume As Sanya Malhotra Absent From ‘Perfect’ Song Video; Even Guru Randhawa Is In It

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s highly anticipated film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, has just unveiled its latest track, “Perfect,” sung by Guru Randhawa. The vibrant music video showcases Varun and Janhvi dancing to the peppy tune, but it has inadvertently ignited a conversation among viewers regarding the noticeable absence of co-star Sanya Malhotra. Given Sanya’s well-established prowess as a dancer, many fans expressed frustration and surprise that she was not featured in the promotional song.

The music video presents a quirky and extravagant visual narrative. Janhvi Kapoor commands attention as she irons stacks of cash on a table, dines on pearls for breakfast, and executes energetic dance moves. Varun Dhawan and Guru Randhawa also share the screen, delivering lively performances. However, the decision to exclude Sanya Malhotra from a song that heavily features dance has puzzled many of the film’s followers.

Social media platforms, particularly in the comments sections of the song’s release, quickly filled with reactions questioning Sanya’s absence. One commenter directly asked, “Why the hell is Sanya sidelined in every clip, every promotion, every song. Insecurity??” Another fan voiced similar sentiments, stating, “SanyaMalhotra_ who is ten times a better dancer and actress is no where to be seen. Wow!!” These comments highlight a growing concern among viewers who feel that Sanya’s talent is being overlooked in the film’s promotional strategy.

Fan Reactions and Film Connections

The outpouring of fan sentiment continued, with many emphasizing Sanya Malhotra’s exceptional dancing skills. A comment read, “Where is Sanya Malhotra? She would have eaten up those moves with ease!” Another fan lamented, “Sanya should have been here along with Janhvi, don’t know why she is not present in the song when she dances so well, missed opportunity by the makers for sure.” These reactions underscore the high regard fans hold for Sanya’s abilities and their desire to see her shine in the film’s marketing. The debate surrounding her absence suggests that audiences expect a more equitable representation of lead actors in promotional content, especially when the talents of an actor like Sanya Malhotra are so prominent.

Trailer already out

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’s trailer, released just days before the song, offered viewers a glimpse into a convoluted love story. In the film, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s characters feign a romantic relationship to provoke jealousy in their respective ex-partners, played by Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra. The trailer also featured several playful nods to classic Bollywood films, including a scene where Varun’s character references his father David Dhawan’s Raja Babu to compose a witty romantic poem. Viewers have also noted striking resemblances between the film’s plot and the 1998 Kajol and Ajay Devgn-starrer Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, which itself was a remake of the Hollywood film French Kiss.

About the film

The romantic drama is directed by Shashank Khaitan, known for his work on films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Produced under the banners of Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari features a strong ensemble cast. Alongside Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, the film also stars Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, and Abhinav Sharma in supporting roles. The movie is set to bring its unique blend of romance and comedy to cinemas on October 2, promising a fresh take on the classic love triangle narrative. The anticipation for the film remains high, despite the current debate surrounding its promotional choices.

Guru Randhawa released his new song Azul recently.

Guru Randhawa shares cryptic post amid Azul backlash

Recently, taking to his Instagram Stories, Guru wrote in Punjabi that when he is happy, everyone else is sad. He said, “Jado mein sab nu khush karn lagga, dukhi ho gya. Ajj mein khud khush hann, sab dukhi ho gaye. (When I tried making everyone happy, I was sad. Today, when I am happy, everyone else is sad). God (red heart emoji).”

Guru recently shared another note too

Earlier, Guru had shared another note saying that the song was trending, for which he is thankful to God. He wrote, “Azul is Azuling (wine glass emoticons). When God is with you, you only move forward (red heart emoji).” The singer is yet to release any statement on the controversy.

About Azul row

In the music video, Guru plays a photography teacher who goes to take a class photo inside a girls’ school. Actor Anshika Pandey, who plays a school student, performs a dance sequence, leaving Guru’s character mesmerised. The singer wrote and composed the song with additional lyrics by Gurjit Gill.

Guru’s song Sirra has also faced criticism

The controversy over Azul isn’t the only one that Guru is facing now. His song Sirra is also in trouble. The court of the sub-divisional judicial magistrate has directed Guru to appear either in person or through counsel for examination of the complaint filed against him.

The complaint, filed by Rajdeep Singh Mann of Samrala, objects to the lines: “We are the sons of Jatts. We got opium as our first food when we were born.” The complainant has argued that the lyrics promote drug culture and defame the Jatt community.
