Bringing fridge magnets back from holidays has always been a must but what if you can make your own? Artists across cities are organising DIY fridge magnet workshops and have been getting a positive response.

Fridge magnets(Shobha arts world)

‘DIY fridge magnets have a personal touch that store-bought ones lack’

Artist Shweta Divgi Dhayatkar says the process is suitable for all ages, typically kids above eight years and adults of all ages enjoy these workshops. She says, “The fridge magnets are unique, customised and have a personal touch that store-bought ones lack. No prior art experience is needed as all materials are provided and guidance is given step-by-step. These workshops are usually an hour long. People love making something small yet personal to decorate their homes or gift loved ones.”

‘Students enjoy creating food shaped fridge magnets’

Food shapes are extremely popular among attendees says artist Shobha Laddha. She says, “We start with moulding, casting and then painting the fridge magnets. My students enjoying creating food shaped fridge magnets like dosas, donuts and pizzas. Others enjoy creating beverages like espressos and lattes. No matter their age, students enjoy playing and experimenting with clay dough. DIY magnets can feature family photos, inside jokes or meaningful symbols. It’s a fun way to make a kitchen feel more personal and cosy.”

‘Customers love how these small pieces can instantly personalise their spaces’

Harshita Gupta, owner of an online craft supplies store says the demand for raw materials required to make fridge magnets has been on the rise over the past few months. He says, ” Fridge magnets have really made a comeback in the past few months. Earlier, they were just considered as souvenirs, but now people are seeing them as a form of self-expression and home décor. Whether it’s a transparent magnet, a photo magnet, or a wooden one, each has its own unique charm and aesthetic. Customers love how these small pieces can instantly personalise their spaces — from displaying memories to adding a pop of creativity on their fridge. With so many styles and finishes available now, people are not just buying them for themselves but also as thoughtful little gifts.”

The growing demand is also linked to how social media and gifting trends have evolved, people love collecting and showcasing meaningful things. And that’s exactly what a fridge magnet does, it tells a story in a small, beautiful way

Nicki Minaj Accuses Industry Of Using ‘Barney B’ For ‘Rage Bait’ To Distract From Her Charting Albums & Sold-Out Tour

Nicki Minaj is calling out what she believes is a calculated attempt to discredit her success by using “Barney B” to stir controversy.

“Sweetheart, the general public just sold out my tour,” Nicki wrote on social media, slamming critics as “bots & PAID FOR OPINIONS.” She suggested the industry is intentionally downplaying her achievements because it “costs them money. Maybe even their freedom.”

Nicki also claimed she currently has five albums charting and accused her rivals of being “livid” over her wins.

“They’ve simply been paid to act like they don’t see it,” she said, warning fans that her haters are afraid of her dominance.

“They’re using Barney B to rage bait so they can get a song of hers off the ground from that flop album,” she added. “Hope that helps. Love u.”

While she didn’t say any names, “Barney B” is the name she has been using to refer to Cardi B?

Do y’all think the beef will end soon?

Love in bloom: Why Gen Z is swiping right on dating at plant cafes that are the new rage in Delhi-NCR

Green-themed cafés are fast becoming youngsters’ favourite spots for slow dates and Insta-perfect hangouts. Here’s a sneak peak from Delhi, Noida and Gurugram.

Forget flashy coffee chains, the new romance hotspots in Delhi-NCR are draped in leaves and vines. With potted palms, bamboo corners, and soft lighting, plant-themed cafés are striking a chord with Gen Z and millennials who are trading in noisy fast-food joints for leafy sanctuaries in this trend called plant dating.

“Eateries themed around plants are more rejuvenating than the usual four-walled structures with artificial lighting,” says model Ashu Chaudhary, who often heads to green cafés in Noida with his girlfriend, Tanisha Bagrodia. “There’s a natural energy in such places which helps us reset especially after a hectic week of college or work. We end up enjoying each other’s company more than our phones,” adds Tanisha, a recent graduate of Delhi University’s (DU) Dyal Singh College.

The aesthetic sensibilities of such spots — hanging plants, wooden furniture, and fresh menus — seem tailor-made for young lifestyles. Noida’s Alma Bakery and Gurugram’s The Big Tree Café are already seeing more first dates (and even returning married couples). “We wanted to curate intimate, cosy corners with maximum freshness. About 400 indoor plants like Areca Palm and Pothos purify the air and create the vibe. We’ve seen couples come on first dates, and later return as married partners,” says Bogusia, co-founder of Alma Bakery & Café.

Even Piyush and Ananya, third-year students at a private college in Rohini, swear by places like Planterie in Panchsheel Park and Garden Lovers in Gurugram. “It feels like the calm of a forest inside the urban jungle. Even an hour here feels like a mini-vacation,” Piyush says.

For others, the aesthetic is the clincher. “To youngsters like me who crave aesthetic hangouts, the design language of such places is part of the appeal. My mum is a huge fan of gardening, and I love lush gardens. A café that brings that vibe indoors is extremely fascinating,” says Nyonika Katiyar, a third-year student of DU’s Lady Shri Ram College (LSR).
