Raveena Tandon Questions Public Obsession Over Her 1990s Engagement: ‘Girls Change Boyfriends Weekly, So Why This One?’

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Bollywood veteran Raveena Tandon recently stirred renewed conversation when she addressed the persistence of public fascination around her broken engagement with fellow actor Akshay Kumar—more than three decades after the event. In a candid podcast interview, Tandon briskly questioned why one disengagement continues to attract attention, especially when the very relationships that replace them are often fleeting.

“When people still search about my engagement with Akshay, I wondered, ‘Forgotten it a long time ago,’” Raveena said, referencing the headlining query she received about the 1990s split. She went on, “We made one hit film together, sure. But girls change their boyfriends every week in college, people get divorced, move on. Yet one broken engagement remains stuck to my name. Don’t know why.”

Her tone reflected a mix of bemusement and mild frustration. It’s a reminder of how old narratives linger in public memory—and how some celebrities feel trapped by them. For Raveena—now married to distributor Anil Thadani since 2004 and mother to teenage children—the past engagement feels distant, yet it keeps resurfacing, tethering her identity to a moment no longer relevant.

The engagement to Akshay stemmed from a period when the pair starred in chart-buster films like Mohra, and the cinematic pairing fed speculation of an off-screen romance. The trenchant memory of that era continues to cast a long shadow, even as both actors have charted their own courses since. But for Raveena, the attention feels unfairly fixed.

“I stopped reading anything written about it—why would I raise my blood pressure? If it’s just noise, better not read,” she remarked. The comment suggests fatigue with being asked the same question—a remarkable pressure considering she has had two marriages since and more than 25 years of post-engagement life. Yet just one headline forms the permutation the public returns to.

What makes this moment significant is how it underscores the nature of celebrity in India. The cultural expectation that past relationships remain repeatedly revisited—especially for women—is itself telling. Raveena’s pointed observation that “girls change their boyfriends every week” works as both sharp commentary and social critique. The underlying complaint: the endurance of outdated narratives—and the unequal scrutiny tied to them.

Interestingly, the episode also carries career undertones. Raveena’s resurgence in screen visibility—spurred by recent film announcements and renewed public interest—comes at a moment when her past relationship once again bubbles to the surface. For many stars, public interest in personal history enacts a dual function: distraction and brand-refresh. Whether intentionally leveraged or not, the resurfacing of past links often aligns with renewed professional footsteps. In her case, the new film Welcome to the Jungle sees her sharing screen space with Akshay once more—circling back to that earlier era.

From a broader lens, Raveena’s commentary invites a rethink of celebrity memory: why does one event remain in public loops when entire decades of life have passed? Why are some partnerships immortalised in headlines, while others fade? And crucially, why does the inquiry persist more insistently for female stars? The lingering question seems not just personal but systemic.

Her remarks also reflect an evolution in how stars engage with their narratives. While earlier generations might have ducked such topics, today’s stars—especially women with longevity in the field—are more direct about what they see as unfair. Tandon’s blunt response signals that she won’t continue to bear the coverage costs of an ancient headline just because it sells clicks.

For fans and media consumers, this moment offers a fresh prompt: when we dig out old relationship stories, what exactly are we looking for? Nostalgia, scandal, certainty? Raveena’s sharp defence suggests we should ask whether the story still holds meaning—or merely fills column inches.

Ultimately, the actress’s reflection is less about relational history and more about agency. It’s a claim, in so many words: “I moved on. You moved on. Why can’t you?” In that, she signals a shift. Celebrity isn’t just about what happens on screen—it’s also about when you’re permitted to stop answering for it.

In the end, Raveena Tandon’s voice sounds confident—not defensive. She’s not rewriting history; she’s asking us to reconsider why we re-read it. And in doing so, she reminds us that storytelling, especially celebrity storytelling, is as much about letting go as it is about looking back.

The Girlfriend Trailer: Rashmika Mandanna Questions Her Relationship With Dheekshith Shetty – What’s Going On? | Glamsham.com

Following her serious role in the vampire suspense thriller Thamma, Rashmika Mandanna is turning to a world of love, emotional depth, and self-discovery in her next movie, The Girlfriend. The Saturday release of the trailer suggests a complicated love story in which Rashmika’s character is torn by a haunting question: is she indeed deeply in love with her boyfriend, or only in love with the concept of him? Directed by Rahul Ravindran, the movie features Rashmika in the starring role alongside Dheekshith Shetty.

The trailer begins with Bhooma, played by Rashmika, hesitantly proposing a “small break” to her boyfriend Vikram, played by Dheekshith, making it clear that she means an actual break and not a halt. The romantic origin of the couple is then portrayed in the story, with Vikram asking Bhooma to marry him, convincing her that she is the ideal partner for him. While the couple enjoy playful and flirtatious moments, such as banter like “you kissed last night,” their tone progressively becomes tension and doubt.

The audience is shown the dynamics of their relationship through arguments, family pressures, and emotional struggles, as Bhooma starts questioning not just her feelings but also what it means to be a “girlfriend.” The trailer guarantees a combination of romance, drama, and self-awareness, highlighting Rashmika’s versatility in playing lighthearted as well as emotionally charged scenes.

The teaser released last year had Vijay Deverakonda’s voiceover, admiring the charm of the heroine as Rashmika’s character walks into college with her bag. The entire movie is coming to theaters on November 7, 2025, and is sure to investigate love, uncertainty, and emotional complexity in present relationships through Rashmika’s powerful performance.

10 Questions with Vicky McClure

Add Trigger Point to your watchlist

Since making her debut at the age of 15 in Shane Meadows’s A Room for Romeo Brass, Bafta award-winning Vicky McClure, now 42, has starred in This Is England, Broadchurch and Line of Duty, as the fiery, yet principled, DI Kate Fleming. She returns this week in ITV1’s Trigger Point.

Queen Camilla came to visit the set during the filming of this third series — how was that?

She visited as part of ITV’s 70th-year celebration. I’m told she had the option to go anywhere, but chose us. It gave the entire crew a real buzz. On the day she came we were shooting an explosion, so we talked her through the scene, but unfortunately it was all going to be done by special effects, so all she saw was me running for cover! She did have a go with the clapperboard, though, which she enjoyed.

Where do we find your character Lana Washington at the start of the new series?

We’re exploring the effects of everything that’s happened to her over the previous two series. She’s on a lot of prescription medication to help her deal with what she’s been through. In this series she’s battling a serial killer and we’ve gone all out in terms of production, camera work, design and script to make it better than ever.

She’s dealing with both post-traumatic stress disorder and tinnitus — what research did you do to make it believable?

My dad has tinnitus – he was a joiner for years and used power drills all day long without ear protection, bless him. He described how it is, but it’s a very difficult thing to portray on screen, so I rely on the sound team a lot as it’s not something that you see.

In terms of the PTSD, I read up as much as I could, spoke to people who had it and realised it’s very personal and doesn’t come in only one form.

After making three series, do you know how to defuse a real bomb?

Ha! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen so many variations of devices that I’ve got a good understanding of them. I’d know how to approach it and what to check. Joel Snarr [Trigger Point’s bomb disposal adviser] taught me a lot, but if it’s the real thing, call the bomb squad, don’t call me!

Your character has to remain calm under pressure — do you?

Oh no, I’m the complete opposite! I have a wild imagination and can be quite dramatic. Sometimes just crossing a road in London can be a challenge because the traffic is coming from everywhere. Lana definitely has a steadier hand than I do.

Line of Duty gave us our careers – and our friendship

Vicky McClure

How comfortable — or otherwise — is the bomb suit you film in?

I still get quite excited when it comes out. Each series it’s been a slightly different design, but always based on a legit suit. They are unbelievably heavy and hard to manoeuvre in, but I think that makes it look more real on screen.

You’re an executive producer of Trigger Point — do you prefer being in front of the camera or behind it?

In the best way possible I’m a control freak. I like to know everything – and as an actor you tend to know nothing outside of what time you’re being picked up. Being an executive producer you get to have an influence on the running of the show. I can also have an impact on the filming environment and make sure it’s a happy, supportive place to be. I can make the call if we need to get an ice cream van on set to help morale!

Jed Mercurio is also an executive producer. Did you discuss doing a new series of Line of Duty?

I don’t have any updates, I’m afraid. I don’t want to give anyone any false hope. We’ve all been very clear that we’d absolutely love to do another series. Adrian [Dunbar], Martin [Compston] and I have been talking about doing a travel show together, though. If any of us ever has any spare time, we’ll do it. Line of Duty gave us two brilliant things – our careers and our friendship.

Week 44 Vicky McClure

In 2018 you formed a dementia choir for a BBC documentary — do you still find time to work with the singers?

Yes, they’re doing brilliantly and I’m for ever proud of what we achieved. Performance wise they’re always busy, whether it’s a care home down the road or singing with Michael Ball – they’re really showcasing that you can live well with dementia and that music truly is medicine.

Looking back on your career, how do you feel about your success?

I’ve just been doing a podcast and talking about the time I worked with Madonna – it was 18 years ago on a film she was directing called Filth and Wisdom. I didn’t even have an agent, so it was a miracle I was cast. One day I was on a private jet with her, then the next I was back in my office job with someone complaining about the vending machines I was looking after. Talk about being bought back down to earth… But the thing is, I prefer real life. I know I’m unusually privileged in many ways, but that wasn’t my upbringing and I never want to lose the values my parents gave me – they are way more important than any award.

‘The Rainmaker’ Stars Answer Our Burning Questions About That Finale

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

[Warning: The following post contains MAJOR spoilers for The Rainmaker finale.]

Case closed! There were some big surprises in store in The Rainmaker‘s finale, even for those who might’ve read John Grisham‘s novel of the same name or watched the cinematic adaptation to know how the trial might end. To break down the biggest moments and find out the answer to some of our most burning questions, TV Insider caught up with the cast and creatives to dish on all the spoilers.

First, a brief recap of events. Melvin Pritcher (Dan Fogler), after talking to Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan), agreed to testify in the civil trial against the hospital. After all, he wasn’t going to get out of facing prison time for his crimes, no matter what, but at least this would give him an opportunity to get even with the people responsible for his own mother’s death in the house fire. In his testimony, which was allowed as a rebuttal witness account to the doctor’s cause of death assessment, he admitted to murdering multiple patients, including the son of Rudy’s client. Things went off the rails, though, when he leaped across the room to attack Leo Drummond (John Slattery).

Sarah Plankmore (Madison Iseman) was deeply upset by what happened — not because her client had actively concealed serial murders but because of the attack on Leo. She didn’t waver from her commitment to her client, even under pressure from Rudy, who ultimately admitted he was wrong about her.

At the same time, Brad Noonan (Wade Briggs) faced the very real consequences of doing Leo’s dirty work. After being cornered by the FBI, he then confronted Leo, who quickly surmised he was wearing a wire and refused to say anything that could incriminate himself. He’ll leave Brad holding that bag. Upon learning of this, Sarah approved of Leo’s move, saying, “Somebody’s blood has to end up on the floor, right?”

She also encouraged Wilfred Keeley (Hugh Quarshie) to testify, and he asked her to handle his cross-examination. During the direct, Rudy got Keeley to admit that he was the only person with access to the Narpans machine code to delete the records and that they were erased the day after he learned of Jackie Lemaczyk’s complaint about Pritcher. On cross, though, Sarah found a way to throw Brad under the bus for it, pointing out that he would’ve had access to the master codes as his attorney, too.

Christopher Barr / USA Network

With Bruiser (Lana Parrilla) now encouraging Rudy to rest the case, he had a different idea; he decided to call Leo on the stand. Though Rudy got in some good shots — chiefly, airing out his mantra that “the truth is not your client” — the biggest effect was that Leo then had to sit out the case and let Sarah finish the defense. She, of course, rose to the occasion and delivered a poignant and thoughtful closing argument to discredit the witnesses. However, when the jury verdict came in, Dot Black (Karen Bryson) prevailed with a massive, multi-million dollar verdict. Dot then pledged to use the money to create treatment centers, Rudy bought the bar he used to work out, and Deck (P.J. Byrne) decided to try his hand at the bar exam, again, this time with Rudy’s lucky coin in hand. Meanwhile, Brad went to prison and saw a familiar face in the crowd: Melvin Pritcher.

Below, the cast and creator dissect our most burning questions.

Did Dot get her full settlement money?

Yes. Whereas in the book and prior film adaptation, Dot’s settlement was merely an academic exercise, as Great Benefit simply closed up shop and never paid her (or her attorneys, by extension), in this iteration, she gets the money.

Creator Michael Seitzman explained the decision to change that part of the ending, telling TV Insider, “It’s one place where I differ with the book…. I mean, I love the book and I love John’s writing, but I felt at the end that I wanted there to be a real reward. I just felt like they’ve earned it. And I think especially in television, you’ve gone through 10 episodes with these people. You’ve watched this entire thing take place. You’re rooting with all your heart — if we did it right, that is, you’re rooting with all your heart — that they’re going to win at the end. I don’t want to take that away from the character. Then, I don’t want to take it away from the audience.”

Is Sarah fully committed to Leo’s dark side now?

Sarah might have had personal reasons for knowingly letting Brad take the fall for what Keeley did, but still, her morality was unquestionably compromised throughout the case. So is she just going to do Leo’s bidding or carve out her own way of lawyering in the future?

Madison Iseman guessed, “I would like to think she’s paving her own path and giving into her own ways. I even think there’s a world where she never had to give up Rudy, but unfortunately, with the circumstances, she’s always going to pick herself. And our whole story is about the morally gray, and I think she ends up making a decision that people will find questionable, but over everything, I do think she’s trying to think of herself and her own future. And that closing argument has become one of my party tricks because I will never forget it as long as I live. If I have one glass of wine, I’ll recite the whole thing.”

Do Rudy and Sarah still have a future together?

It’s still possible, but those involved with the show have very different takes on it. For Milo Callaghan, what Sarah has done in this case and beyond hasn’t changed the way Rudy feels about her deep down: “I think he’s really in love [with her still]. I think it’s a love story at heart… Michael used to say it’s a bit like a bird and a fish who fell in love, but where are they going to live? That’s the height of their housing troubles. They’re trying to figure out, ‘Can we do this?’ We talked about future seasons and future thoughts and reconciliations, and for me, when I read the scripts, I wanted them to find a way back. I thought it was really smart to deprive the audiences of that, but at the same time, I don’t know, I think Rudy still feels the love. I think right to the last moment, he’s got his hand out.”

Iseman, meanwhile, thinks it’s less likely they can rekindle the romantic elements of their relationship, saying, “I don’t know. There’s a lot that happens. I think they love each other. I think they will always love each other. But I think they are so similar in the way that they are so hard-headed, and I think that’s what made them work so well in the beginning. But they might be too hard-headed to ever put the other person first. So I don’t know if they would ever have a healthy relationship. But you never know.”

Seitzman added, “She would have to make a big turn right for him to take her back because he loves the Sarah from Episode 1. The Sarah that she became is impossible for him to love, because even when Rudy makes mistakes, he’s not morally compromised. He is trying always to do the right thing. She knows that she’s making decisions that are the wrong thing. She’s asked numerous times if you want to get your hands dirty, how dirty? And then she does it over and over and over again. She’s given the opportunity… to take an off-ramp, but she doesn’t. Rudy doesn’t behave like that. His is a real coming of age story. Hers is a Faustian bargain. She would have to undo her deal with the devil in order for him to take her back. But I think, like all exes, you know, we all have a soft spot for every ex. We can’t help it.”

THE RAINMAKER -- Episode 110 -- Pictured: John Slattery as Leo Drummond -- (Photo by: Christopher Barr/USA Network)

Is Leo going to go to jail?

At the end of the finale, Leo revealed that, while Brad was already in cuffs, he was under his own FBI investigation. John Slattery, for one, has faith in his guy.

“I think Leo is going to do his damndest to stay out of jail, and he’s probably done it before,” he said. As for whether Leo has respect for Sarah in the end, after she proved to be a fellow cutthroat, he said, “Certainly. I think he’s respected her the whole way. I think he’s just trying to figure out whether she’s prepared to fight the good fight, as he sees it. But I think he respected her in the moment he met her, and that’s why he had her stick around.”

Is Bruiser happy her dad left?

After Bruiser found out the truth about her father, that he didn’t murder anyone, he still had to go on the lam from the FBI. So now, the firm is fully hers. Is Bruiser secretly happy about that, even if it means she can’t see her dad? According to Lara Parrilla, it’s “100%” yes. “She’s almost kind of relieved, but doesn’t ever say so, but then she’s secretly excited to do something different with the firm and give Rudy a chance because I don’t think her father would’ve ever done that,” she said.

Will Deck pass the bar exam?

P.J. Byrne isn’t so sure if his fast-talking associate counterpart will have what it takes to finally pass the bar, but he does have an idea of what might happen if he does. He told us, “I don’t know. Will Deck pass the bar after he’s failed it seven times in Season 2? I mean, is eight times a charm… I think he’ll do it, but I don’t think it’ll be easy. And I can only imagine him crossing the bar to his first case, he’s probably going to be a sweat pile. So he’s gotta eat some Lewis Barbecue to get his stomach full, and he might throw up.”

What is the significance of Rudy letting go of his coin?

Since we first met Rudy Baylor in Episode 1, his coin from a trip to Myrtle Beach with his brother has been his prized token, thought to give him luck and the memory of his lost brother. So it was a very meaningful moment indeed when he was finally willing to part with it and give it to Deck for luck with the bar.

“This has been both a driving force for him as well as an anchor that’s holding him down. It comes up periodically in these moments of stress. As he tells Kelly, at one point, ‘My brother said, if I rub my fingers over it’ll give me luck.’ She says, ‘Does it work?’ He says, ‘Sometimes.’ But it’s a security blanket, right? It’s somehow, ‘My brother’s wisdom is going to help me become the man that I want to become,’ the man that he felt his brother was. And by the end, we should believe, as he believes, that he’s become that man, and he doesn’t need it anymore. So he gets it to the person he’s closest with, which is Deck.”

Will there be a second season?

A second season has not yet been announced, but we’ve got some intel about what might happen if it does come along right here.

Alyvia Alyn Lind Unpacks Lingering Questions

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

[This story contains major spoilers from Wayward.]

Wayward star Alyvia Alyn Lind knows you have unlimited questions about her new limited series that’s currently ranking atop the Netflix TV charts.

Created by Mae Martin, Wayward shines a light on the troubled teen industry through Vermont’s fictional Tall Pines Academy. The “therapeutic” school is run by Toni Collette’s cult-like leader, Evelyn Wade, who later takes a special interest in Lind’s Leila. The latter is a Canadian teenager who made the journey across the border in an effort to rescue her best friend, Abbie (Sydney Topliffe), from the clutches of this institution that her parents forced her to attend. However, Leila’s plan backfires, turning her into the latest enrollee.

Leila and Abbie were always mischievous partners in crime, but Leila’s drug use was far more serious than Abbie ever realized. The reason is due to the fact that Leila has yet to reconcile the traumatic drowning death of her older sister, Jess (Devin Cecchetto), which Evelyn picks up on in order to play her patented mind games. Leila is eventually subjected to a psychological experiment where she has to confront her potential involvement in Jess’ death, and the series ultimately depicts two different versions of the harrowing incident.

In Lind’s mind, the version in which Jess accidentally drowns on her own is the more accurate portrayal, not the Evelyn-provoked account where Leila pushes an equally inebriated Jess in a swimming pool and opts not to save her. But Leila soon buys into the mindset that she’s a murderer, something Abbie disputes based on a phone call they shared in the direct aftermath.

“At the end of the day, I personally believe she did not intentionally push her sister [into the pool],” Lind tells The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s very common for people who have gone through traumatic experiences to have lapses in their memory and not remember exactly what happened. So it’s a perfect opening for Evelyn to go in there and pull at the strings until it’s all unraveled.”

After Jess’ death, Leila’s mother became completely withdrawn from her maternal duties, and now that Leila is in the hands of Tall Pines Academy, she appears to have no interest in her daughter returning home anytime soon. This turn of events ends up contributing to Leila’s unexpected decision to let Abbie complete their well-planned escape alone so she can stay at Tall Pines Academy.

“I think the reasons she gave Abbie for why she’s staying are true. She wants the community, she wants the family, and I think she genuinely does believe that. But I think that was all placed into her mind by Evelyn,” Lind says. “Evelyn saw her and saw her trauma and how tough her exterior was, and behind every tough exterior is an extremely soft center. So she wanted to rip that out, and I think she manipulated her.”

Wayward popped up on Lind’s radar shortly after the heartbreaking cancellation of her three-season series, Chucky, and the original audition email described the mystery-thriller as an “eight-episode limited series.” But with so many dangling threads, there’s already a clamor amongst the viewers and the cast/crew for another season.

“We were all aware [that it was a limited series] from the start, and we were all sad about it from the start. As the cast got closer and everybody had so much fun together, we got sadder and sadder as the season progressed,” Lind shares. “But you never know. Limited series get picked up [for more seasons] all the time now, so we’re just hoping that Netflix wants to push it further. We all want more for our characters, especially me. I want to see where Leila goes. I love her so much.”

Below, during a recent spoiler conversation with THR, Lind also discusses her unique upbringing in a showbiz family that includes her sisters, Natalie and Emily Alyn Lind, as well as matriarch Barbara Alyn Woods.

***

You started acting at such a young age. Do you have any memories that predate you being a working actor?

Not really. Those memories would have to be before I started acting at 3 years old. But as I got older, my mom told me stories. My older sisters were in the industry from a very young age, and my mom has been doing it her entire life. My sisters would run their lines when I was only 2 or 3, and I would overhear and listen in the background. When they were done, I would come in and say, “My turn!” I’d then do their lines perfectly from top to bottom, and this was right after I’d learned how to speak. So it’s always been in my blood, and it’s always been inevitable that I’d end up wanting to pursue a career in it. I really don’t remember a time where I wasn’t working on a set. That could sound like a nightmare to some people, but it has been such a dream come true for me.

When we’re kids, our parents sign us up for things just to see what sticks. And then, as we get older, we start to figure out what we actually like and don’t like. But it sounds like you knew you loved acting from the moment you started running lines for fun.

Definitely. The reason I love acting so much and have such a great relationship with it after all these years is because I always had a choice. It was never a situation where my mom was being a stage mom. She always gave all three of us the opportunity to stop whenever we wanted and go back to [more traditional] school. Growing up, we had conversations all the time about it. “You got another audition. Do you want to do it? Do you still like this? Are you happy?” All three of us just never wanted to stop. We all found such a strong love for it at such a young age, and we’re all so grateful for our mom’s guidance within this industry that we love so much. I was extremely lucky. It’s very unheard of to find the profession you want to pursue for the rest of your life at just 3 years old.

When you watch your mom and sisters act, do you notice any mannerisms that all of you share?

It’s funny you ask that. I was literally watching Wayward with my family the other day, and I noticed for the first time that when I cry on screen, I look really, really similar to my oldest sister, Natalie [Alyn Lind]. I also make certain expressions or smirks or faces that remind me exactly of Emily [Alyn Lind]. I think I’m a perfect mix of both of their faces and expressions. So it’s both weird and interesting to watch myself on screen and be like, “Wait, there’s Emily. Wait, there’s Natalie.” But from growing up together and running lines with each other and just being there for one another during every project, I think that we’ve all adapted a few of each other’s little tricks. So we do have similarities, but we also have such different acting styles. We are all so distinct, even though we all had the same acting coach in my mother.

Did Wayward emerge right as Chucky ended?

Chucky ended, and then Wayward came up. It was such an interesting time because we were obviously all so sad about Chucky being canceled. So I got the audition, and I was so grateful when I booked it. I then got to dive into the history of the [troubled teen industry], and it was a really exciting transition. Chucky was very campy and crazy and unrealistic in a lot of ways because it was a killer doll show. So getting to dive into something that’s real and terrifying in a more grounded way was really awesome.

Do you think the door is fully closed on Chucky? I know there was loose talk of trying to revive it in some form.

Oh my gosh, I have no clue. [Creator] Don Mancini holds the power. But whenever there is a revival, if there is one, I am so there. I’m down. Sign me up. I love that crew and that cast so much, and we had the most incredible time filming. I definitely would love to be involved and avenge the Terror Trio. I want them to have a better ending and not be stuck in dolls for the rest of their lives.

Chucky, Spiderwick Chronicles and Wayward all shot in and/or around Toronto?

Yeah, it’s not crazy to think that I’m a Toronto-based actor at this point because I film everything in Toronto. I’m half-Canadian, which is awesome. My dad’s side of the family is Canadian, and I have dual citizenship. So I love filming in Toronto so much.

Wayward is being billed as a limited series, but the ending leaves so many plates spinning that it seems ripe for a second season. Did you always know you were shooting a limited series?

Yeah, it was known from the start. When I got the audition in my inbox, it said, “eight-episode limited series.” So we were all aware from the start, and we were all sad. As the cast got closer and everybody had so much fun together, we got sadder and sadder as the season progressed. But you never know. Limited series get picked up [for more seasons] all the time now, so we’re just hoping that Netflix wants to push it further. Obviously, everybody involved in the show loves it so much, and we’re so proud of the outcome. We all want more for our characters, especially me. I want to see where Leila goes. I love her so much.

There’s a recent saying that the limited series is the new pilot, so anything is possible.

It would be a dream to do another season and explore these characters even further. If it ends up happening, I would be so excited and so on board. But if it doesn’t happen, then the place the characters ended up in is where they’re going to stay. Leila’s ending is so sad to me. I’m so protective over her, and I want her to get as far away as possible from that school. But she has to figure that out for herself. Unfortunately, I can’t protect my characters that much.

Her sister Jess’ death is a mystery throughout the season, and we’re given two different versions of the story. One was accidental, and the other was more intentional. Leila eventually thinks she killed her sister on purpose, but Abbie argues that’s not true because of a phone call they shared the day after it happened. Who do you think is right?

Oh my gosh, I love this question so much. While filming the episode, everybody had their different speculations. I had a conversation with Brian Davids Mae [Martin] about it. I then had a conversation with that episode’s director [John Fawcett] just to figure out what is true in Leila’s head. At the end of the day, I personally believe that she did not intentionally push her sister [into the pool]. It’s very common for people who have gone through traumatic experiences to have lapses in their memory and not remember exactly what happened. So it’s a perfect opening for Evelyn to go in there and pull at the strings until it’s all unraveled.

So, truly, deep down, I believe that she did not kill her, but I also love that the episode has so many different versions of what happened. It creates a conversation. I’ve already been on socials to look through people’s posts about whether or not they think she killed her, and it’s so fun to see that everybody else has a different opinion. I’ve watched the show with many of my friends and family, and all of them have different opinions. So it’s really fun to see what people think because it really is up for interpretation. Whatever you want to think is what it can be.

We established earlier that being a sister is a major part of your life, so did you have a tough time filming that tragic backstory involving Leila’s sister?

That entire episode is so heavy. It was the episode I was the most excited to film while also being the most terrified to film. I really wanted to get it right, and show why Leila is the way she is. That episode is such a huge transitional moment for her. We filmed the pool sequence all night from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. It was emotionally and physically exhausting, and terrifying. But those days are the most rewarding. So I’m really happy with the outcome, and I hope everybody else loves it, too.

Leila’s flashbacks took place while in the Mirror Room. Once she’s free, the camera lingers on her as she eats pizza and listens to Duck play Pink Floyd’s “Time.” She was listening to that song in the first episode too. What’s really on her mind there? Is it genuine enjoyment to set up her big choice to stay at Tall Pines in the finale? Or was she just trying to gain Duck’s trust like her and Abbie planned? It seemed genuine to me.

That scene is another one of the big turning points that we see for Leila. It’s the first time that she truly sees humanity in this place. To that point, it’s been so rough and mean and aggressive and scary. Suddenly, she’s sitting there eating pizza, and this guy that she’s been terrified of the whole time is now playing her favorite song on the guitar. And for the first time, she thinks, “Maybe this place isn’t as bad as I thought it was. Maybe they were really just trying to fix me, and now that I’m getting better, it’s not as scary anymore.” It’s such a terrifying cycle of manipulation. But you can really see it in her face: “This could be my life. I could do this every day. I could sit here and eat pizza and listen to Pink Floyd every day.” So It’s a big transitional period for her to see that maybe this place isn’t as bad as she thought that it was.

Then she has a phone call with her mom, and she couldn’t have been less interested in Leila potentially coming home. So do you believe the explanation she gave Abbie as to why she’s staying? Or did Evelyn manipulate this outcome?

I think both can be true. I think that the reasons she gave Abbie for why she’s staying are true. She wants the community, she wants the family, and I think she genuinely does believe that. But I think that was all placed into her mind by Evelyn. Evelyn saw her and saw her trauma and how tough her exterior was, and behind every tough exterior is an extremely soft center. So she wanted to rip that out, and I think she manipulated her.

She knew about how absent Leila’s mom has been since Jess’ death. So it was a perfect opportunity for her to take over that role. “I will be this mother figure for you. I will be this figure that will love you unconditionally, which is something that you’ve never had in your life. I will show you the ropes, and I will find you a family.”

She does it in the same way that she does it to Laura [Sarah Gadon]. It’s really interesting how many similarities there are between Laura and Evelyn’s relationship and Leila and Evelyn’s relationship. So I think that everything that she’s saying to Abbie at the end of the show is true, but all of those things have been placed in her head by Evelyn.

What did you pay attention to most with Toni Collette? Was it her acting style, or was it more about the way she carries herself on set?

I learned so much from her and her energy on set. Just watching her is a masterclass. I watched her switch back and forth between her Australian accent and American accent, and it was so insane that it should be studied. She’s just such a powerhouse. I want to be her. I was such a superfan before we started filming, so I was terrified. But then getting to know her and being on set with her as much as I was, it was an honor to study her. She plays her character so insanely well, and getting to see her bring Evelyn to life up close was incredible.

Lastly, I have to follow up on something your sister Emily and I talked about during Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. You’re friends with Mckenna Grace, and Emily played her friend of sorts in that movie. Was it pretty bizarre for you to watch given your connection to both?

It was so much fun! When I heard that Emily got the role in the new Ghostbusters, I was so excited because I knew Mckenna, but I didn’t know how close their storyline would be to each other. And when I learned that it was basically just going to be the two of them together the entire movie, I was so excited. I think it was also exciting for Emily because Mckenna is a familiar face. I’ve known Mckenna since I was four or five. We’ve both been in the industry that long together. So getting to see Mckenna at the premieres and watching them work together was so much fun, and it was never weird at all. I’m so glad that they had that experience together.

Emily did say that you wondered why you didn’t get to go out for it.

I remember being like, “I should have gotten this audition. I want to work with Mckenna. I love her so much. That would’ve been so much fun.” I was more just jealous that I didn’t get to work with Mckenna because we would’ve had such a blast on set. But Emily has such a ghostly energy. So the casting decision after seeing the movie makes so much sense. They were right on point.

Spice Girls questions were ‘triggering’

Victoria Beckham found being asked about her time in the Spice Girls “quite triggering”.

Victoria Beckham discusses her time in the Spice Girls in her docuseries

The 51-year-old star is the subject of a new Netflix documentary series, which is simply titled Victoria Beckham, and she found being interviewed about her girl band past “almost like therapy” because she has struggled with her time in the group overshadowing her fashion career.

She told the Sunday Times Style magazine: “I’ve been defined by a four-year period in my life. That was the Spice Girls.

“It’s taken me almost two decades to fight that and I feel that only now can I look back and talk about it. I’m not going to lie, being asked questions about when I was in the Spice Girls was quite triggering. And I’d say those were the most difficult moments. It was almost like therapy for me.”

However, Victoria insisted she is “so proud” of everything she achieved with the group and is still in contact with all her bandmates.

She said: “I love the Spice Girls. I really do. And it’s been great reflecting on that time. The other night I had dinner with Emma and Geri, and Mel B messaged me at the weekend. I still speak to all of the girls. I’m so proud of everything we did. I wouldn’t have been who I am now if it wasn’t for the Spice Girls, 100 per cent.”

Victoria – who has four children with husband David Beckham – was happy to speak openly in the series but admitted it was an emotional experience.

Asked if she said no to talking about anything, she said: “No. I mean, I touch on my family, I touch on the Spice Girls, the problems we’ve had with the business, you know, the money we’ve lost — there have been lots of triggers.

“I cried. Like I said, I haven’t seen the final edit, but yes, I did cry. It takes quite a lot to make me cry, but I did cry. You know, I’ve earned my place to show in Paris, I’ve earned the respect.”

The fashion designer agreed to her own documentary series after being pleasantly surprised by the response to her appearances in David’s own fly-on-the-wall programme.

She said: “If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t love me in that documentary…

“I was surprised by how positive the feedback was with what I brought to it. David’s documentary made me realise how good it feels to be wrong. I like being wrong. I was wrong, and bring it on. I love that.”

Mariah Carey Dodges Questions About Ex-Husband Nick Cannon Insuring His Testicles For $10 Million

When it comes to her ex-husband #NickCannon, #MariahCarey is pleading the fifth.

The Grammy Award winner, who recently released her sixteenth studio album Here for It All, had nothing more to say than “Lord, help me,” when asked about the $10 million insurance policy Nick said he placed on his testicles. Her opinion on the matter, or lack thereof, was shared during a chat with Andy Cohen for Watch What Happens Live. When asked if Nick’s privates are worth so much money, Mariah laughed and said, “I’ve got to go to the next question.”

Over the summer, Nick, who is a father of 12, explained his interesting decision, saying, “I had to insure my most valuable assets. Because you hear about all these different celebrities insuring their legs… so I was like, ‘Hey, well, I got to insure my most valuable body part.’”

Could you see yourself insuring your most “valuable asset” for $10 million???

'To Sell A Podcast!?': Karan Kundrra Questions Motive Behind Anusha Dandekar's Cheating Allegations

‘To Sell A Podcast!?’: Karan Kundrra Questions Motive Behind Anusha Dandekar’s Cheating Allegations

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Actor Karan Kundrra recently ignited a fierce controversy after taking a strong, albeit indirect, public stand against his former girlfriend, Anusha Dandekar. The dispute stems from comments Anusha made in a podcast, where she hinted that Karan had been unfaithful, claiming he was “sleeping with all of Mumbai” while they were in a relationship. In a powerful, now-deleted social media post, Karan hit back, questioning why “these cruel elite women with connections to big Bollywood families get away with systemic harassment.”

Karan Kundrra Response To Allegations

Karan took to his Instagram to share a lengthy note addressing the cheating allegations levied against him, without ever naming Anusha. The post was quickly deleted but surfaced on various social media platforms, including Reddit, sparking massive public interest.

In the deleted post, Karan lamented the media frenzy: “87 articles in three hours and for what?? To sell a podcast!?”. He questioned the message such sensationalism sends to the youth, writing, “Is this the inspiration that’s being instilled into the young boys & girls of our country?? Is this entertainment for you??”

The actor expressed deep frustration over what he described as a double standard, arguing that men like him are left vulnerable to baseless accusations. “It’s unfortunate that today these cruel elite women can say ANYTHING and they will be applauded and men like me have no where to go,” he wrote. He spoke of the hardship faced by those who “come from small cities work extremely hard, persevere away from our loved ones and NO one supports till the spark is sucked out of you…”

Karan kundrra Asking for Accountability

In a more emotional part of the post, Karan questioned the impunity enjoyed by his accusers. “At 4 in the morning as I lay alone in my bed, consumed with utter disappointment and helplessness, I wonder why these ‘smash the patriarchy’ women with connections to big Bollywood families intoxicated till their eyelids in power, get away with systemic harassment, mental badgering, degrading persecution, why!??,” he asked.

He warned that such public shaming can be destructive, pointing to the detrimental effect of “blind items” and unchecked accusations that “break you” and “fracture your strength.” He concluded with a bleak observation about the lack of accountability: “Now I’m beginning to understand why even the most seemingly successful, strong, bright men end up taking their lives in this country, coz there is no accountability, no consequences that these woke women have to face.”

Anusha Dandekar YouTube Podcast

The drama was reignited on Anusha’s YouTube channel, Unverified — The Podcast, where she shared a story about a former boyfriend’s infidelity.

Without naming Karan directly, Anusha recounted, “The most incredible experience I had with dating apps was, I was signed to do campaigns for a dating app, and at the time, the boyfriend, I got him the deal as well, to do the campaign with me.” She stated that he received his highest-ever payment for that campaign.

She then revealed the betrayal: “And he used the dating app to talk and meet with girls, and we’re doing the campaign together.” The final, most inflammatory remark was: “I found out much later when I found out he was sleeping with all of Mumbai.”

Public speculation instantly connected the dots to Karan, as the pair had previously been brand ambassadors for the dating app Bumble during their relationship.

Karan and Anusha were in a relationship for three and a half years before they officially broke up in 2020. They co-hosted the reality show MTV Love School between 2016 and 2019, where they helped struggling couples mend their relationships.

In 2021, Anusha was asked for the ‘direct reason’ for their separation during an Instagram Q&A. She replied, “We deserve more honesty, love and happiness…and it starts with self-love. So, I chose me. That’s it.”

In the past, Anusha has repeatedly suggested that Karan was unfaithful and lied to her, a charge that Karan has consistently denied, even laughing off the accusations in a previous interview. Karan is currently dating actor Tejasswi Prakash.

In the latest promo of Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle, Alia Bhatt tactfully dodged a tricky question about staying friends with exes. Bollywood has always been the stage for grand love stories, not just in films but in real life too. Yet, unlike movies, relationships here don’t always conclude with fairy tale endings. From on-screen chemistry sparking rumors to widely-discussed breakups, romance and its aftermath constantly fuel conversations in the industry. Occasionally, these stories reappear in unexpected moments. That’s precisely what unfolded with Alia in this promo, where she managed the situation with grace and quick wit.

Alia Bhatt Avoids Ex Question on ‘Too Much’ with Kajol and Twinkle

Alia Bhatt experienced a few public relationships before eventually finding her happily ever after with husband Ranbir Kapoor. While the actress has moved on from her past and enjoys a joyful married life, glimpses of her old romances sometimes make their way back into the spotlight. Most recently, her past was brought up on the show Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle.

Bollywood actors Alia and Varun

Alia is set to appear on the show alongside her former co-star and close friend, Varun Dhawan. A recently released promo has already stirred excitement. The most talked-about moment came when Kajol playfully asked Alia if staying friends with an ex could be considered a red flag. Known for her charm and witty responses, Alia chose not to give a direct answer. Instead, she cleverly sidestepped the question with a lighthearted remark, leaving the audience amused. “Okay… we need to move on.”

Alia’s witty yet playful reply made the hosts and Varun laugh, while also showing fans her talent for mixing charm with diplomacy. In today’s time, when celebrities are often pushed into making controversial remarks, Alia’s smart response helped her avoid unwanted speculation. At the same time, she managed to leave the audience with a moment that was both clever and memorable.

Varun Dhawan Opens Up About Mela on ‘Too Much’ With Kajol and Twinkle

Alia skillfully avoided any talk about exes, while Varun Dhawan added his trademark honesty to the conversation. In a hilarious moment, he confessed that he has watched Mela, the Aamir Khan and Twinkle Khanna starrer, multiple times—despite not really liking the film.

Varun Dhawan

Varun added to the fun by reciting some of his iconic dialogues, showcasing his playful charm and reminding fans why he’s considered one of Bollywood’s most entertaining stars. His lighthearted confession sparked nostalgia while keeping the banter witty and self-aware, blending seamlessly with the show’s lively vibe.

All About Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle

Too Much has swiftly emerged as Bollywood’s latest guilty pleasure. The very first episode brought together Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, where the two icons reflected on their enduring friendship and personal relationships. Salman shared thoughtful insights on dealing with insecurities in partnerships, while Aamir revealed how his connection with Salman deepened after his divorce.

Too Much Show Kajol and Twinkle Khanna

The upcoming episodes promise even more unscripted fun with Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Karan Johar, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Govinda, among others. Packed with cheeky banter and bold confessions, the show grows wilder and more entertaining with every week.

What’s Ahead for Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan?
