Purpose keeps people: 92% of employees say they would stay longer at companies that support giving back

New research from CTW Events reveals that staff loyalty, wellbeing and workplace culture are increasingly being shaped by a single factor: purpose.

The 2025 survey conducted this autumn shows overwhelming demand for workplace volunteering, with over nine in ten (92%) saying they are more likely to stay with a company that actively supports team volunteering, and 85% reporting that taking part in volunteering through work boosts their overall job satisfaction.

As businesses plan for 2026, the message is clear: corporate volunteering is no longer a nice-to-have, it has become essential to keeping people engaged, connected and committed.

The survey also highlights a major shift in how employees want to spend time with their colleagues. While traditional team socials still play a role, 83% say they are more likely to participate in team building if it has a meaningful social or environmental impact, and 92% believe purpose-led activities strengthen relationships more than traditional events.

Three quarters of respondents (76%) said they would welcome more opportunities to take part in volunteering through their work, with 87% saying they would be more likely to volunteer if the process was easier.

Since 2012, CTW Events has mobilised 237,000 hours of team‑building to build and distribute 6.3 million kits via 1,000+ charity partners worldwide. In 2024, the company delivered 1,550 global events – an incredible 300% increase on 2023 – which supports the survey findings that employee demand for purpose-led team building events is increasing sharply.

From community support projects to disaster relief kit builds, employees are demanding experiences that strengthen teams and boost morale while directly helping people in need, bridging the gap between employee passion and employer action.

Madison Ayache, Vice President at CTW Events, says: “Employees are asking for purpose, and they’re asking loud and clear. These findings show that workplace volunteering isn’t just good for communities, it lifts wellbeing, strengthens team bonds and directly influences retention.

“When companies make giving back accessible, engagement soars. Purpose drives performance, and in 2026, organisations that embrace this will be the ones that thrive.”

As workplace culture continues to evolve, CTW Events says the findings should act as a clear call to action: Employees want to contribute. With workplace volunteering now proven to influence satisfaction, loyalty and culture, the challenge for businesses is no longer whether to act, but how quickly they can embed purpose into everyday working life.

bitchy | Did Princess Kate wear a grey suit on purpose, as a reference to Prince Harry?

Yesterday, Commodore Keen wore a grey Bella Freud suit to an RAF base. The Princess of Wales was appointed the Royal Honorary Air Commodore in 2023, and this was her first-ever trip to RAF Coningsby. I’ve included more photos of her visit in this post. Anyway, I didn’t have much to say about Kate’s suit yesterday. It was fine – appropriate, sedate, professional. If I have one criticism, it’s that Kate actually needs more of a flared or straight legged trouser – the subtle taper of the trousers is unflattering, imo.

Well, it didn’t even occur to me yesterday that Kate was actually sending a “message” by wearing a grey suit. Where else have we seen “grey suit” written and discussed ad nauseum in the past week? That’s right, Prince Harry’s clapback on the Sun. Harry didn’t actually say “the men in grey suits,” but he referenced nefarious people behind the scenes who are trying to sabotage his reconciliation with his father. Diana was the one (I think) who coined “the men in grey” term in reference to her biggest opps, the palace courtiers. Diana’s youngest definitely shares her hatred for these shady figures pulling the strings and manipulating the Windsors. So… Kate’s message is that she can wear a grey suit as well! She’s one of the shady courtiers turning father against son and brother against brother! Honestly… that’s on brand for Kate. We’re long past the Linchpin Era, when Kate tried to convince everyone that she alone could repair royal relations. She’s in her Men In Grey era now.

During this visit, Kate also “revealed” that Louis wants to become a fighter pilot. When she next visits a garden, she’ll say Louis wants to be a gardener. When she next visits a mill, she’ll say Louis wants to work in fashion.

Doja Cat’s Vie Tries to Reframe Her Purpose in Pop: Review

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

If everything means nothing to Doja Cat, what actually matters? Fans, stans, and casual listeners are now just as familiar with the pop/rap star’s chaotic provocations as they are with her music. In May 2023, she dismissed her breakthrough albums, unprovoked: “Planet Her and Hot Pink were cash-grabs and y’all fell for it,” she wrote. “Now I can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while y’all weep for mediocre pop.” Months later, she brushed off her hard-edged 2023 hip-hop album Scarlet with equal irreverence: “Not to diminish it, but it was a bit of like, I just need to get this out — it was a massive fart for me,” Doja told the New York Times earlier this month.

Doja Cat’s talent has never been a question, but rather how she chooses to engage with it. She has historically been deeply unserious in her assessments of her own work — but with Vie, it’s clear that she’s seeking to understand herself a bit more broadly this time around. “Jealous Type,” the album’s New Jack Swing-inflected lead single, indirectly illustrates the conflict of Doja as an eager artist who feels both overexposed and misunderstood: “Boy, let me know if this is careless, I/ Could be torn between two roads that I just can’t decide/ Which one is leading me to hell or paradise?”

Duality has always made Doja Cat a more compelling artist, and Vie proves she thrives when she’s embodying every version of herself. Instead of committing to one lane, she treats the album as an experiment in blending eras and styles. She stands under the neon haze of the ’80s, fusing sleazy synths with the glossy pulse of R&B of the era and the grandiosity of glam rock. Vie also doesn’t forget that rapping is still in her arsenal — even if used sparingly.

After spending the last album cycle hyper-focused on hip-hop, Doja returns here to the comparably softer space of pop — but she doesn’t abandon the grit she picked up along the way. She finally seems less concerned with choosing between her creative instincts and more comfortable letting them co-exist, treating her full range of talents as equally valid tools rather regarding one or another like an affliction she needs to shake off.

On the opening track, “Cards,” saxophone bleeds through the left speaker before evening out and expanding to a soundscape that would be fit for electro-funk band Zapp & Roger. Doja Cat slinks and prowls as she vacillates between singing and rapping, setting the thematic tone of the album: “Maybe in time, we’ll know/ Maybe I’ll fall in love, baby/ Maybe we’ll win some hearts/ Gotta just play your cards.”

It’s a generic mission on its surface — deconstructing and rebuilding love in all its iterations — but it’s direct in its simplicity, which has often powered the best pop of the past and present. Which makes sense, as Jack Antonoff, the purveyor of dominant, era-crossing pop, has his fingerprints all over a Doja Cat album for the first time, producing on nine of the 15 total tracks.

In addition to “Jealous Type,” Antonoff’s contributions sparkle most on “AAAHH MEN!” Sampling the theme from the 1980s program Knight Rider, the song inserts itself into the lineage of hip-hop songs that have lifted the memorable synth, joining the ranks of Timbaland & Magoo’s “Clock Strikes” and Busta Rhymes’ “Turn It Up (Remix) / Fire It Up.” As averse as she seems to the pure “rapper” label, Doja can spit her ass off, and she demonstrates that most clearly here: “Men need to cry more, boys need to work/ But not when he beg his employee to flirt/ Ain’t nobody finna force me to twerk/ When you’re finished with your goon sesh, join me in church.”
