“They split the town up… they became two separate entities.” Hulu has revealed a trailer for a documentary series titled Sneaker Wars: Adidas v Puma, which will be out for streaming right away. This new 3-part doc is connected with the ongoing “Sneaker Wars” series. This time the focus is on the real rivalry between Adidas and Puma, the two famous German shoe brands that were originally started by two brothers from the same family. Most people know this story by now, right? With unprecedented access to both companies, we uncover the tale of two feuding brothers, named Adi & Rudi Dassler, whose multi-decade rivalry and competition helped shape the modern sportswear industry. Dive deep into the fierce, decades-long rivalry between two global sportswear brands born from a family feud. This doc-series uncovers how their personal conflict fueled innovation, reshaping the sneaker industry, and sports culture. Featuring many modern day athletes representing Adidas and Puma, along with a look back at the early days of these companies. This is actually one of the more interesting shoe brand origin stories – and it looks like the doc will examine all of it.

LaMelo Ball and PUMA Hoops hosted a fan-forward event to celebrate the release of the newest silhouette in LaMelo Ball’s signature franchise. A line wrapped down Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles on Tuesday (Aug. 26) with eager sports enthusiasts hoping to get the chance to be the first to shop the MB.05 World Tour drop, as well as meet the NBA star.
The MB.05 World Tour was designed in collaboration with Melo and inspired by his swagger both on and off the court. Available in fluorescent pink with iridescent detailing throughout, the design features barbed wire detailing as a nod to his tattoos. Additional design features include a molded skull and a “1” in the outsole, described as a nod to Ball’s one-of-one status. The sneakers are also finished with NITROFOAM™ cushioning for athletic comfort.
LaMelo first joined the PUMA Hoops family in 2020 when he was still a teenager.
“LaMelo’s physical gifts and dynamic play on the court, as well as his unique sense of personal style, make him a natural fit for PUMA,” expressed Adam Petrick, Global Director of Brand and Marketing at PUMA at the time. “We are thrilled to add him to our roster of talented athletes, and at just 19 years old, we can’t wait to see his impact on the broader culture surrounding basketball.”
