Dakota Johnson and Sabrina Carpenter Prove Winter’s Best Coat Needs a Burgundy Bag

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

The burgundy bag popped against the cool-toned coat while complementing the 36-year-old actor’s rosy beauty look and instantly inspiring my next going-out ’fit. The very next day, Leslie Bibb proved the very same formula can by applied to the work week.

On November 13 Bibb was photographed in New York City wearing a long gray duster and charcoal knit set, which she paired with brown croc-embossed boots—almost like an inverse of Johnson’s evening look. However, she also had the idea to add a burgundy bag into the mix, opting for a big slouchy hobo bag that could easily store her everyday essentials and a pair of subway flats.

The point is, a burgundy bag is the perfect pop of color to add to pair with your favorite coat and boots, whether you’re heading into the office or out for date night.

Heck, if you want to go Goldilocks and the three bears on this trend, you can even choose a mid-size crossbody, like Sabrina Carpenter, who paired a burgundy Celine bag with her black Aritzia slouch coat, brown boots, loose jeans, and oversized plaid scarf. Consider this the farmer’s market version of the look.

“We Have To Prove It Every Time”

Madhuri Dixit On Pay Disparity ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Madhuri Dixit is one of the most promising actresses of Bollywood. She marked her acting debut in 1984 with the film Abodh and went on to deliver unforgettable performances in films like Sailaab, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, and Devdas. She dominated the big screen in the 1990s, her charm, talent, and timeless appeal continue to win hearts even today. Let’s revisit the time when Madhuri Dixit shared her thoughts on the long-standing discussion of pay disparity in the Hindi film industry. Read on to know more.

During a candid conversation at IIFA 2025, the Devdas actress shared her honest take on gender pay disparity in Bollywood. Madhuri Dixit revealed how women in the industry still have to work twice as hard to prove their worth and match their male counterparts’ paychecks. Her words hit home for many, reigniting a conversation Bollywood has long brushed under the carpet.

Madhuri Dixit Shared Her Thought On Pay Disparity

According to Bollywood Bubble, during the special segment “The Journey of Women in Cinema” hosted by the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2025 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Madhuri Dixit addressed the issue of the gender pay gap. The actress said, “I think for the women, they have to prove themselves time and again, and to say that we’re equal, we can bring the audience to the theaters, we can do that, but we have to prove it every single time.”

She further added, “And yes, there is still a disparity. It’s like pushing the envelope every time, a little bit more; it’s like baby steps. We are still a long way from actually when disparity doesn’t happen. I think we have a long way to go, and we have to kind of work every day towards that.”

Filmmaker Guneet Monga Addressed The Issue Of Pay Parity

Joining the discussion, filmmaker Guneet Monga also shared her thoughts on the same topic. She said, “Yes, there is a pay gap, and I want male actors to start addressing this issue too. We are already on the receiving end. We need to create more opportunities for women in films. Look at Stree 2 – if we have more successful women-led films like these, we’ll get closer to closing that gap.”

More About Madhuri Dixit

On the work front, Madhuri was last seen in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. It also featured Katrik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, and Vidya Balan in pivotal roles. She is gearing up for her upcoming comedy-drama film Ma Bhen. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni and features Triptii Dimri and Ravi Kishan in lead roles.

bitchy | Prince William tried to prove that he can read during his final day in Brazil

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Last week, in the height of the Andrew Windsor drama, the New Statesman published their latest cover story. The piece was an interesting and well-researched argument for the abolition of the British monarchy. The New Statesman suggested letting King Charles’s reign run its course, and then getting Scooter King William to basically dissolve the monarchy. I bring up that article because one of the reasons why they suggest that William will be a terrible king is because there’s a growing body of evidence that William is functionally illiterate. It’s been known for some time that William refuses to read briefing memos and he has repeatedly admitted to not enjoying reading or having a favorite author or book.

Well, funny story – Scooter King heard the “illiterate” speculation and he’s been trying to not-so-subtly prove that he can read this week in Brazil. He actually allowed photographers to capture him “reading” his speech on the way to Belem, Brazil. They also got some wider shots of William performing his big COP30 speech, aided by a Teleprompter. See!! He can read!! WATCH HIM READ HIS BIG KEEN SPEECH!

The comments on this video and others on social media reminded me so much of the backlash to William talking about his other cause, homelessness. I’ve always argued that William actually does care about homelessness, he’s just too dumb to understand that he’s not the guy to talk about it or be a vocal advocate for homeless people. He’s just too much of a f–king hypocrite, with eleven forever homes and his slumlord duchy. He gets such well-deserved backlash for all of it, and it’s the same with environmentalism. He comes across as inauthentic because he genuinely lacks authenticity in this area, even more so than homelessness.

If you thought we were done talking about those volleyball pics from the beginning of the week, well, you were wrong. There’s a video now! A video of William sticking his hand down his pants while making eye contact with a woman. Yiikes.

written by jummy84

When it comes to actors who steal the show with their solid performances, Sharman Joshi’s name shines the brightest. He may not be the loudest in the film, but somehow he leaves a lasting impression. From laugh-out-loud comedies, college dramas to intense ensemble stories, Sharman’s contribution to memorable films is incredible.

7 Films That Prove Why Sharman Joshi Is A Scene-Stealer

Rang De Basanti

Before ‘3 Idiots’ became a game-changing tale of youth stories, Sharman Joshi’s Sukhi from ‘Rang De Basanti’ did the job by bringing humour and heart to the film. His rapport with Aamir Khan and the gang felt so real that even today, we’d all like to be a part of that group!

3 Idiots

We all loved Sharman Joshi’s portrayal of Raju Rastogi! His outing of a simple, struggling student navigating life’s pressures struck a chord with the audience. The sincerity he brought to the character and the dialogue delivery made Raju Rastogi truly unforgettable.

Life In A… Metro

Sharman Joshi, known for bringing unmatched sincerity to his performances, proved to be the right fit for ‘Life in a…Metro’, a slice-of-life film that explored urban loneliness. As Rahul Dhupia, he proved his drive to balance intensity and emotional depth, and it worked!

Golmaal

In ‘Golmaal’, Sharman Joshi was at his hilarious best, and there’s no denying that! As Laxman, his chemistry with the group and his impeccable comic sense lent weight to the film’s cult status.

Dhol

In ‘Dhol’, Sharman once again tickled the audience’s funny bones with his sincere comedy timing by being a part of a group of loveable lazybones who chase an easy life, but end up in a laughable mess! His camaraderie with Kunal Kemmu, Tusshar Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav made ‘Dhol’ a rollercoaster of laughter that leaves audiences grinning even today!

Ferrari Ki Sawaari

In 2012, Sharman Joshi stepped into one of his most heartfelt performances in ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’. He played the role of a father who is willing to go above and beyond for his son’s dream. As Rustom aka Rusy, he made the viewers smile, cry and cheer, all with one performance!

Style

Sharman Joshi brought a classic blend of humour, charm and relatability to Style, layering it up with natural acting and spot-on comedy timing. His lighthearted mischief and heartfelt sincerity felt refreshingly genuine in the film, making every scene come alive.

Whether Sharman Joshi is a part of a blockbuster cast or he’s driving the story solo, he has proven to be an actor who not just performs, but connects!

Abhishek Bachchan hits back at journalist for accusing him of buying Best Actor award: ‘I will prove you wrong’

by jummy84 October 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Abhishek Bachchan has experienced an inspiring journey in Bollywood as an actor. Following in his superstar father Amitabh Bachchan’s footsteps, Abhishek began his career in the Hindi film industry with J. P. Dutta’s war drama Refugee (2000). Even though there were some bumps in the way, he went on to emerge as one of the most versatile performers that Bollywood had ever witnessed. But throughout his journey, Abhishek was considered underrated because of constant comparisons to his legendary father. So when he received his first ever Filmfare Award for Best Actor, for his performance in I Want to Talk (2024) last month, it felt like a personal win for many fans. However, some accused the actor of ‘buying’ the award.

Abhishek Bachchan

This morning, journalist Navneet Mundhra took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Abhishek Bachchan’s victory. The tweet read, “As much as he’s an affable guy, I hate to say that professionally #AbhishekBachchan is the prime example of how buying awards and aggressive PR pushes can keep you relevant… even if you don’t have a single SOLO blockbuster in your career. He won an award for #IWantToTalk this year… A film which no one saw apart from a few PAID reviewers. And now I see all these tweets saying 2025 is HIS year. HILARIOUS !! There are far better actors than him who deserve more recognition, work, appreciation & awards…. but alas! They don’t have PR smarts & money.” Well, Abhishek has politely hit back at the journalist.

Abhishek responded, “Just to set the record straight. Never has any award been bought or aggressive PR been done by me . Just hard work, blood, sweat and tears. But, doubt you’ll believe anything I say or write. So…. Best way to shut you up is by working even harder so that you don’t ever doubt any achievement that will happen in the future, again. I will prove you wrong! With all due respect and “affability”.”

When I Want to Talk released, many fans had lauded Abhishek’s performance, with some describing him as ‘better than Amitabh Bachchan’ in their reviews. Have you watched the Shoojit Sircar film yet?

Kritika Kamra Birthday Special: 5 Roles That Prove That Mitron Actress Aces Female-Forward Narratives

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

On her birthday, we celebrate the powerhouse performer Kritika Kamra, an actress who continues to redefine how women are portrayed on screen. From her television beginnings to bold, layered roles in films and OTT projects, Kritika has consistently chosen stories that put women at the center complex, independent, and unapologetically real. Here’s a look at five standout roles that underline why Kritika Kamra is one of the strongest voices in female-forward storytelling today.

Bheed

In Anubhav Sinha’s Bheed, Kritika Kamra stepped into a gritty, socially charged narrative that mirrored India’s harsh lockdown realities. Her performance as a journalist brought sensitivity and courage to the forefront — a woman unafraid to question systems, yet deeply empathetic towards the suffering of common people. Kritika’s character wasn’t just a witness to injustice; she became the moral compass of the story, showing how empathy and truth-telling are acts of rebellion.

    Hush Hush

Amazon Prime Video’s Hush Hush showcased Kritika in a darker, psychological thriller setting. Amidst a star-studded ensemble, she held her own as Dolly Dalal, a woman trapped in societal expectations, grappling with her identity, and ultimately reclaiming her agency. Kritika brought both vulnerability and quiet strength to the role, embodying the story’s central theme that every woman hides a truth, and it’s her choice when and how to reveal it.

      Bambai Meri Jaan

In the crime-drama Bambai Meri Jaan, Kritika portrayed Habiba Kadri, a character that stood out in a world dominated by men and power struggles. As the daughter of a gangster, she brought ferocity and intelligence to the role, proving that she wasn’t a mere bystander to her family’s legacy but an active force within it. Kritika infused Habiba with quiet defiance showing how strength isn’t always loud, but deeply rooted in resilience and conviction.

        Gyaarah Gyaarah

In Gyaarah Gyaarah, Kritika delved into the world of mystery and time travel, a genre rarely explored by female leads in Indian storytelling. Her character was cerebral, intuitive, and emotionally layered, balancing intellect with heart. Kritika’s performance in this Arjun Varain Singh directorial was yet another reminder of her knack for choosing narratives where women lead from the front, driving the plot rather than orbiting around it.

          Saare Jahan Se Accha

In Saare Jahan Se Accha, Kritika continues her streak of portraying strong, self-reliant women. While details of her character remain under wraps, early buzz suggests another nuanced performance that celebrates individuality and emotional strength. Whether it’s navigating relationships, ambition, or identity, Kritika ensures her characters reflect the modern woman’s journey layered, flawed, but always fearless.

Vicky Kaushal’s 5 Best Performances ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

A few months back, Vicky Kaushal was the talk of the town among the audience after his impressive performance in Chhaava. The audience praised his acting skills in a historical action drama, and the movie went on to become a major box office blockbuster. Over the years, Vicky has seamlessly transitioned between intense, emotional, and light-hearted roles, proving his unmatched range. Here’s a look at five of his finest performances that truly highlight his versatility as an actor.

1. Iqbal – Raazi

  • IMDb Rating: 7.7/10
  • Director: Meghna Gulzar
  • Streaming On: Apple TV

Vicky Kaushal‘s performance in Raazi is regarded as one of his finest. The film was released on May 11, 2018, and performed well at the box office. In Raazi, Vicky Kaushal played the role of Iqbal Syed, a member of a Pakistani army officer’s family. Throughout the entire film, the reactions and emotions Vicky portrayed truly demonstrated that he can portray unique roles and switch between antagonist & protagonist very smoothly.

3. Sukhi – Dunki

  • IMDb Rating: 6.5/10
  • Director: Rajkumar Hirani

Dunki was released in 2023 and had stiff competition with Salaar in theaters. Despite having Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, Vicky Kaushal’s cameo presence as Sukhi shone brightly. Vicky was not part of the entire film, and his character was sacrificed in the early stage of the movie. However, his character left a long-lasting impact on the audience, especially due to the innocence and genuine emotions he portrayed as an actor.

7 Alia Bhatt Movies That Prove Her Versatility

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

What sets a truly remarkable actor apart isn’t just a string of successful films, but the ability to try on different personalities and to completely step out of their comfort zone and make you believe they are that character. Alia Bhatt, who burst onto the scene with a glamorous, typical Bollywood debut, has in the years since carved out a space for herself as one of the most versatile and fearless actresses of her generation. She hasn’t been afraid to let go of the star image, picking roles that are varied, emotional, or totally unexpected. From an abuse survivor finding her voice on a highway, to a powerful leader from Kamathipura leading a movement, her filmography proves her versatility. Here are 7 films that prove her acting range.

Highway (2014)

This was the movie that truly showed us what Alia could do beyond the typical bubbly heroine roles. The film is about Veera Tripathi, a rich young girl who gets kidnapped right before her wedding. What’s unexpected is that she starts finding a strange sense of freedom and safety with her kidnapper on the long road trip through the beautiful Indian landscape. It’s a story about breaking free from the suffocating pressure of a privileged but abusive life. The open road becomes her escape route from a life that felt like a cage.

Her portrayal of Veera was raw and completely natural. She didn’t act like a movie star; she simply was the character. You see her transition from a trapped, scared girl to someone who finds her own voice and finally addresses her childhood trauma. It wasn’t a loud, over-the-top performance, it was authentic and deeply felt by her. The way she showed vulnerability, confusion, and joy all at once, made you truly connect with her character’s journey. That moment where she finally confronts her family at the end stayed with the audience and is lauded to this date.

Udta Punjab (2016)

Alia Bhatt

A hard-hitting and intense look at the drug crisis in Punjab, the film tells the stories of four people affected by the problem. Alia played a Bihari migrant worker, known as Bauria, who is trapped in the drug trade and faces horrific abuse. Her character portrayed the forgotten victims of the crisis. She was a girl with a simple dream of playing hockey, whose life is completely messed up by the state’s issues.

Dear Zindagi (2016)

Alia Bhatt

This movie tells the story of Kaira, a young, ambitious cinematographer in Mumbai who appears confident but struggles with mental health issues, abandonment fears, and a general inability to form lasting relationships. She seeks help from a therapist, Dr. Jehangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), and the film beautifully shows her journey toward healing and accepting her own flaws. What made this performance stand out was its relatability. Alia brought an authenticity to Kaira. She captured the feeling of being a young adult who seems to “have it all” but is quietly falling apart inside. Her portrayal of anxiety, defensive behaviour, and the slow, reluctant opening up to her therapist felt honest and personal, showing her acting chops very well.

Raazi (2018)

Alia Bhatt

Based on a true story, Raazi is a spy thriller set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Alia plays Sehmat Khan, a young and innocent Kashmiri college student who is quickly trained and married into a Pakistani military family to serve as an Indian intelligence agent. Her mission is to gather important information for her country, often putting her at extreme personal risk while maintaining her cover. Alia convincingly played two different sides of Sehmat: the gentle, loving wife and daughter, and the clever spy who had to think on her feet. The maturity she showed in playing such an emotionally complex character was truly remarkable, making every choice Sehmat made feel heavy and real.

Gully Boy (2019)

Alia Bhatt

This film focuses on the life of Murad, an aspiring street rapper from the slums of Dharavi. Alia played Safeena Firdausi, Murad’s bold, immensely protective, and slightly possessive girlfriend. Though not the central focus, Safeena was an important and unforgettable part of Murad’s world. Safeena was a fireball, and Alia played her with flair and perfect comic timing. She perfectly balanced the character’s traditional upbringing with her modern, aggressive confidence.

Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022)

Alia Bhatt

This film tells the story of Gangubai, a young woman who is tricked and sold into prostitution but rises against all odds to become a powerful, respected figure of Kamathipura, Bombay’s red-light area in the 1960s. She transforms into a fiery advocate for the rights and dignity of sex workers. This was arguably her most challenging and transformative role yet, especially considering her age. Alia took on a character that was much older and required a completely different, powerful personality. She had to show strength, vulnerability, and a commanding presence all at once. Her voice, her walk, and the mannerisms was something that she carried very well. She successfully carried the entire film on her shoulders, portraying Gangubai’s journey from a terrified girl named Ganga to the fearless Gangubai especially in the long, theatrical speeches. This performance showed her ability to handle a huge, larger-than-life epic role.

Darlings (2022)

Alia Bhatt

Darlings is a dark comedy that addresses the serious issue of domestic abuse in a completely fresh and unique way. Alia plays Badru, a simple, young woman who is madly in love with her husband, despite his continuous physical and emotional abuse. The film’s plot deepens when Badru decides to fight back, with the help of her mother. As a producer on this film, it clearly meant a lot to her, and it showed in her performance. She very well balanced the two sides of Badru: the hopeful, naive wife desperate for her husband’s love and the clever woman planning her revenge. Her acting was superb in the way she moved from moments of pain and confusion to flashes of dark, comedic mischief when she imprisons her husband. She kept the character grounded and believable, allowing the audience to empathize with her situation.

Exploring Anil Kapoor’s Astrological Insight & Forecast!
An In-Depth Astrological Analysis Of Anil Kapoor’s Career! ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Few actors in Indian cinema have managed to defy time the way Anil Kapoor has. Decades after his debut, he still radiates the same restless energy and freshness that first made audiences sit up. Astrology explains this remarkable longevity, for an Aquarius rising with a Virgo Moon and a Sagittarius Sun is a rare combination of originality, discipline, and optimism. Anil Kapoor’s chart shows a man who reinvents himself with every decade, someone whose life seems to move in rhythm with the planets that shape his destiny.

He was born with an Aquarius rising, which immediately marks him out as distinctive, original, and ahead of his time. The ascendant in Aquarius gives him an unconventional charm, a youthful energy that does not fade easily, and a capacity to reinvent himself in an industry where careers often run out of steam quickly. His long-lasting stardom and ability to adapt to changing cinematic landscapes reflect this Aquarian signature of renewal and freshness.

His Sun and Mercury in Sagittarius add the qualities of optimism, adventure, and buoyancy. Sagittarius infuses him with enthusiasm and a natural love for storytelling, which translates seamlessly into his screen presence. This placement makes him outspoken, confident, and straightforward, with a streak of humor that often shines through in his interviews and public appearances. The Sun in Sagittarius also blesses him with a kind of philosophical detachment, as he can laugh at himself, take risks, and move forward without getting bogged down by past failures.

The Moon in Virgo, conjunct Jupiter, balances this fiery enthusiasm with a deep sense of discipline and practicality. Virgo Moons are often grounded, detail-oriented, and self-critical, and conjunct Jupiter, this tendency is amplified but also softened by Jupiter’s expansive generosity. This combination explains why Kapoor is both meticulous about his craft and generous in his collaborations. His Virgo Moon gives him humility and an earthy reliability, while Jupiter’s influence adds optimism, a sense of faith, and that unmistakable ability to bounce back stronger from setbacks.

This conjunction also explains his remarkable commitment to health and fitness, which, combined with his Aquarius ascendant, contributes to his almost ageless, youthful appearance that continues to astonish audiences. Mars in Pisces contributes a fluid, creative energy. Rather than pushing aggressively, he channels his ambition in a more adaptable and artistic way. Mars here often works through intuition rather than sheer force, giving Kapoor the ability to play a wide range of roles, from intense dramas to lighthearted comedies, with emotional sensitivity.

Mars in Pisces also lends him a compassionate streak and a sense of empathy, which has kept him approachable and loved by both colleagues and audiences. Venus in Scorpio gives him magnetism and depth in relationships and performances. His onscreen presence often carries a smoldering, passionate quality, and in personal life, Venus in Scorpio suggests loyalty, depth of feeling, and a private, almost mysterious dimension to his relationships. With Saturn and Rahu also in Scorpio, there is a karmic undertone, and his life has involved hard lessons about power, control, and persistence. These placements also account for his sheer resilience in an industry where fortunes can change overnight.

Saturn trine Uranus is a powerful aspect in his chart. It shows an ability to balance tradition and innovation. In Kapoor’s career, this comes through in how he has moved fluidly from conventional Bollywood films into international projects, OTT platforms, and even self-parody roles with remarkable ease. He knows how to respect the old structures while embracing the new, which has been key to his longevity. Venus trine Uranus adds an element of surprise and freshness to his charm. It brings him a touch of unconventional appeal in love and art, making him attractive in ways that go beyond traditional standards. This aspect also gives a certain electricity to his performances, something unexpected and spontaneous that keeps audiences hooked.

The Sun trine Pluto aspect provides him with inner strength, charisma, and the ability to transform himself and his circumstances. People with this aspect often have a commanding presence, even when they are not trying. Kapoor’s intensity on screen, combined with his ability to stay relevant in changing times, reflects this transformative solar-Plutonic power. The Neptune in Libra and Pluto in Leo generational placements also add layers to his personality. Neptune in Libra emphasizes ideals of beauty, harmony, and partnership, which reflects in his graceful style and enduring marriage. Pluto in Leo signifies a generation that redefined drama and individuality, and Kapoor embodies this with his boldness, flair, and ability to stand out in a crowd.

Overall, Anil Kapoor’s chart reflects a man of remarkable adaptability, resilience, and magnetism. Aquarius rising and Saturn trine Uranus make him a bridge between eras, traditional yet modern, rooted yet experimental. His Virgo Moon conjunct Jupiter explains his discipline, good health, and longevity, while Venus in Scorpio and Sun trine Pluto give him the charisma and intensity that have made him one of Bollywood’s most enduring stars. His chart shows not only why he has enjoyed a career of rare length and relevance, but also why he continues to defy age with his vitality, youthful appearance, and tireless energy.

Anil Surinder Kapoor was born on December 24, 1956, in Chembur, Bombay, now Mumbai, into a family already entwined with the Indian film industry. His father, Surinder Kapoor, was a producer, and the family’s connections provided both inspiration and opportunity, though Anil’s path still demanded persistence. He studied in Chembur at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School, and later at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. Early on, as a young man, he did small jobs in the film world, location scouting, running errands, in order to help and also to learn the ropes.

His film debut came in 1979 in Hamare Tumhare, during the Rahu dasha, Jupiter bhukti. This was a romance where he played a small role. He next took up lead roles in regional cinema, as in the Telugu film Vamsa Vruksham (1980), directed by Bapu in the same period. He also did a Kannada film, Pallavi Anupallavi (1983), during the Saturn bhukti. These early films helped him sharpen his craft and visibility, though it was his return to Hindi cinema during the Mercury bhukti, as a lead in Woh Saat Din (1983), a home production and a box office success, that brought him into the limelight.

Through the mid-1980s, Kapoor began to deliver the kind of performances and box office success that would set him apart. His first major hit in Hindi was Meri Jung (1985), during the Mercury bhukti, which helped establish him as a bankable star. Among the films that defined his early breakout was Mr. India in 1987, a big-budget film, a home production, in which he played a modest foster father who acquires the power of invisibility and confronts a villainous Mogambo. Mr. India, released during the Venus bhukti, became not only a major box office success but also had a cultural impact. Its songs, dialogues, and the characters of protagonist and antagonist still carry popular resonance decades later. There has been speculation about a possible sequel or remake in recent years. It placed Anil Kapoor firmly in the A-list.

During the Venus bhukti, alongside Mr.India, he had big hits through Tezaab (1988), best known for the chartbuster Ek Do Teen. This was among the earliest films where he was paired with Madhuri Dixit, and the two went on to do several films together, most of which were box office successes. Ram Lakhan (1989), Rakhwala (1989), and Kishen Kanhaiya (1990) also worked at the box office. In Eeshwar, Anil Kapoor played an octogenarian when he was really still in his thirties. During his Moon bhukti, Lamhe, in which he paired with Sridevi, brought him tremendous acclaim and is considered among his finest works, although it did not work at the box office because it did not resonate with a conservative audience. These films established his range as an actor.

In the 1990s, Anil Kapoor continued to mix commercial films with more serious work. Films like Beta (1992), Laadla (1994), and Virasat (1997) won both audience appreciation and critical acclaim. Judaai (1997), Deewana Mastana 1997), Biwi No. 1 (1999), Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999), and Taal (1999), among others, kept him going as a bankable star. His consistent presence, discipline, and willingness to adapt to changing audience tastes kept him relevant. Most of these films released during the beginning of his sixteen-year Jupiter dasha, which began in May 1993.

Entering the 2000s, Anil Kapoor shifted gears. Though he had financed several family productions earlier, his first independent venture as producer was Badhaai Ho Badhaai (2002), followed by My Wife’s Murder (2005) and Gandhi, My Father(2007), which won the National Film Award for Special Jury Award. These efforts reflected his desire for creative control and diversification, though they, along with films like Karobaar (2000), Om Jai Jagdish (2002), Rishtey (2002), and Calcutta Mail (2003), did not fare well commercially. Nayak: The Real Hero (2001), directed by Shankar, also released to a muted response but has since gained cult status, and a sequel is reportedly in the works.

Anil Kapoor then reinvented himself as an actor, making a spectacular comeback with the comedy hit No Entry, alongside Salman Khan and Fardeen Khan. Released during his Moon bhukti, the film was a blockbuster, and even two decades later, its sequel remains in development, though Kapoor has opted not to return for it. In the following years, he continued his successful run with Welcome (2007), another major hit in a similar comic vein, directed by Anees Bazmee, during his Rahu bhukti. The year 2008 marked a major turning point in Anil Kapoor’s career. He appeared in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, released during his Rahu bhukti. Partly set in India, the film became a global phenomenon, sweeping the Academy Awards and earning Kapoor international recognition. His first Hollywood collaboration introduced him to a worldwide audience and significantly elevated his stature as an artist.

His Saturn dasha began in 2009, marking another phase of reinvention. From 2010 onward, Kapoor embraced a wide variety of roles, supporting, cameo, and character parts, while also venturing into television and OTT projects. He acquired the rights to and produced the Indian adaptation of 24, in which he also played the lead. He made a brief appearance in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), expanding his international footprint.

Just before the global lockdown, he delivered a notable performance in the box office success Malang, co-starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani, during his Saturn dasha, Sun bhukti. In recent years, he has starred in Thar (2022), Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022), Animal (2023), and Fighter (2024). His performance in Animal was particularly significant in terms of box office, as it became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, collecting over 910 crores worldwide. It is cited as his highest-grossing film to date. Incidentally, I had predicted on Twitter that Animal would be a blockbuster several weeks before its release and before even the trailer was made public.

Through all this, Kapoor has shown an ability to move with the times. His performances at ages when many of his contemporaries have faded remain strong, and his presence in mass entertainers, multi-starrers, character roles, and TV or web work keeps him visible. Even in his sixties he is known to perform many of his action sequences or stunts, maintaining physical fitness and a youthful energy.

Anil Kapoor is currently in his Saturn dasha and will enter his Jupiter bhukti in November 2025, a period poised to accelerate the pace of his career. In recent weeks, he has reportedly signed on for a French film directed by Ritesh Batra. When Saturn dasha concludes, the Mercury dasha that follows should also support his professional growth. The coming year looks highly eventful. Around December 2025, he may associate with a large or reputed corporation, bringing significant financial gains. A major creative collaboration is likely in January 2026, possibly a multi-film deal. From mid-March to the end of April 2026, his chart indicates strong career momentum, with April particularly active. The latter half of May 2026 also points to substantial progress.

As he steps into this prolific phase, his slate reflects both artistic ambition and creative courage. A collaboration with Suresh Triveni – the acclaimed director of Tumhari Sulu – signals a return to intimate, character-driven storytelling that Kapoor has long enriched with emotional depth. In parallel, Hansal Mehta’s biggest Netflix series places him at the center of India’s new-age prestige television movement, reaffirming his instinct for staying ahead of trends and exploring bold, layered roles.

Meanwhile, Alpha – directed by Shiv Rawail of The Railway Men at YRF – promises a cinematic spectacle that blends scale with substance, proof that Kapoor continues to thrive in both innovation and mainstream appeal. Few actors command such intergenerational relevance. From Mr. India to Slumdog Millionaire and now to a slate uniting directors like Mehta, Triveni, and Rawail, his journey reads like a chronicle of Indian cinema’s evolution. Entering Jupiter bhukti in late 2025, his chart aligns with significant creative expansion – culminating in a transformative phase in Anil Kapoor’s career.
