President Trump Bashes Congresswomen Jasmine Crockett And Ilhan Omar

President Donald Trump took aim at Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) in remarks from the Oval Office. While speaking to the press on Thursday (Sept. 25), POTUS reacted to Crockett’s name being mentioned as a reporter attempted to ask him a question.

“Jasmine Crockett?” questioned the 79-year-old as he cut off the journalist. “Remember what I say: Is she a relation to the late, great Davy Crockett? I don’t think so. Let me tell you before you even ask: She’s a very low-IQ person.”

“I mean, if we ever have to pass an aptitude test, that’s the one who should take one because she shouldn’t even be,” he continued. “So I have no idea what you’re gonna—but I don’t even think we should waste our time. This is a low-IQ person who I can’t even believe is a congressperson,” the president exclaimed.

“Between her and Ill-man Omar and the group,” he continued, mispronouncing Omar’s name and suggesting she also did not belong in Congress. “You know, I met the head of Somalia. Did you know that? And I suggested that maybe he’d like to take her back. He said ‘I don’t want her.’”

His remarks come at about the 29:58-minute mark of the live-streamed press conference.

The journalist continued to inform Trump that Crockett compared U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids to slave patrols.

“I want to ask you if you think there should be consequences for members of Congress who make these kinds of comparisons?” the reporter pressed.

“Well, I think she’s gone over the line,” answered Trump. “The Democrats have become radical left lunatics. They have policies that nobody’s going to buy.”

In Crockett’s full remarks, she explained, “As somebody who understands history, when I see ICE, I see slave patrols.”

“If you know the history of policing in this country, then you understand that they were born out of slave patrols. And now with the Supreme Court saying this, it’s almost like you can just go grab them up. That is what they’re saying, and that is a problem. We all should have a problem with that. But when you don’t want to teach American history that includes Black history, then you lose out on the benefit of understanding that we have been down this road before. And it was not good, and we fixed it once, and it is a shame that we are relitigating this, and we are going to have to fix it again.”

Veteran Showrunner Tom Fontana Elected President of WGA East

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Tom Fontana, the respected showrunner known for HBO’s “Oz” and NBC’s “Homicide: Life on the Street,” has been elected president of the Writers Guild of America East.

The WGA East electoral results were disclosed Thursday evening. Fontana defeated novelist and screenwriter Charles Kipps for the top elected post at the union that represents more than 7,500 film and TV scribes who live east of the Mississippi River.

Sasha Stewart was elected Secretary-Treasurer. Michael Rauch was elected Vice President of the Film/Television/Streaming sector. Nicole Conlan, Chris Gethard, Liz Hynes, Sarah Montana, Sharyn Rothstein and Erica Saleh were elected to serve on the Council representing Film/TV/Streaming members.

Sie Morley, Nitish Pahwa and Samantha Smylie were elected to serve on the Council representing Online Media members.

Fontana will succeed Lisa Takeuchi Cullen at the helm of WGA East. She served two terms as president and lead the guild through its tumultuous five-month strike in 2023. Last year, the WGA East also saw a transition in its senior management as Sam Wheeler came on board as executive director.

According to the WGA East, participation in the board and officers election was strongest among the guild’s bedrock of members who work in Film/TV/Streaming, as some 14% (4,363) of those eligible members cast ballots. In Broadcast/Cable/Streaming News, votes were cast by 7% of eligible voters (1,251). For those in the guild’s Online Media sector, the turnout was 5% (1,966).

Watch ‘The Diplomat’ Season 3 Trailer: Allison Janney as President

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Tensions ratchet up in the latest official trailer for the third season of Netflix‘s The Diplomat, as viewers eagerly await the Oct. 16 premiere of the next set of episodes.

Kicking off with what looks like the immediate aftermath of President Rayburn (Michael McKean) dying at the end of season two, the preview sees staffers informed of his death and that the commander-in-chief was on the phone with former ambassador Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell) when he died.

Vice President Grace Penn (Allison Janney) soon learns that Hal was telling her boss that he had a “rogue deputy,” as Hal puts it, alluding to Grace’s involvement with the British warship attack that launched the series.

Hal and his U.K. ambassador wife, Kate (Keri Russell), then consider the risks of Grace as a “terribly flawed” president and the possibility of Kate keeping an eye on her in the White House, but Kate seems uninterested in the “opportunity” that Grace’s presidency presents.

“I’m not walking around in the middle of a constitutional crisis with a résumé stapled to my forehead,” Kate says at one point.

And soon the international stakes grow higher as viewers see British Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi) warning Kate about Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge (Rory Kinnear) “concealing explosive information on [her] behalf,” saying he will extract “10 pounds of flesh.”

And Kate declares that the president, seemingly Grace, is “about to do something that is apocalyptically dumb” as Hal and Grace consider something “catastrophic” possibly “coming out.”

The trailer, offering the most substantive look at the season yet, then suggests larger tensions between the U.S. and the U.K. as a voiceover informs viewers of the Pentagon “drawing up battle plans for war with the U.K.”

Kate is shown saying, “I am doing everything I can, but there is a limit.” Meanwhile, Trowbridge declares, “I expected more from you.”

And, leaving viewers in suspense, Nana Mensah’s chief of staff Billie advises someone, “You should get a lawyer.”

The trailer and key art that Netflix released today tease that “no alliance lasts forever.”

After a shorter, six-episode second season, The Diplomat‘s third season will feature eight episodes, which Netflix describes as follows: “In season three of The Diplomat, Ambassador Kate Wyler lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want. She just accused Vice President Grace Penn of hatching a terrorist plot and admitted she’s after the VP’s job. But now the president is dead, Kate’s husband Hal may have inadvertently killed him, and Grace Penn is leader of the free world. None of this slows Hal’s campaign to land Kate the vice presidency. Kate steps into a role she never wanted, with a freedom she never expected, an increasingly complicated friendship with Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (Gyasi), and an unnerving bond with first gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford).”

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about the end of season two and beginning of season three, Sewell teased that things soon get complicated.

“The end of season two is one thing but very quickly even more extraordinary things happen,” he told THR before the season two premiere, as season three was already in production, last fall. “Allison Janney coming in, the dynamics of the story after what happens at the end of season two really gives us some extraordinary things. Also it changes dynamics that might have been in danger of playing out. And it’s getting really complex.”

The Diplomat has already been renewed for a fourth season at Netflix.

Debora Cahn, who created the show, serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Russell, Janice Williams, Alex Graves, Peter Noah and Eli Attie.

The cast includes Ali Ahn, Ato Essandoh, Celia Imrie and Miguel Sandoval.

US President Donald Trump has lead tributes to Robert Redford, saying that “there was nobody better” than the late Hollywood legend.

US President Donald Trump is among those to pay tribute to late actor Robert Redford

The iconic actor-and-director died at the age of 89 on Tuesday morning (16.09.25) at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah, and Trump has said Redford’s passing was “a good way to go”.

Speaking to Reuters, Trump, 79, said: “Well, it’s a good way to go, I guess.

“Robert Redford was great. He had a series of years where there was nobody better.”

When asked what his favourite film of Redford’s was, Trump said: “You have a lot of them. He made seven or eight great films.

“There was a period when he was the hottest.”

Redford was one of the biggest stars and most acclaimed actors in Hollywood, having starred in hits such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All The President’s Men and The Sting.

As well as his movies, Redford also left his impact on the movie industry after he helped establish Utah’s annual Sundance Film Festival.

Hollywood has mourned Redford’s passing, with A Beautiful Mind director Ron Howard dubbing the late Oscar-winning actor as an “artistic gamechanger”.

On X, he wrote: ” RIP and thank you Robert Redford, a tremendously influential cultural figure for the creative choices made as an actor/producer/director and for launching the Sundance Film Festival which supercharged America’s Independent Film movement. Artistic Gamechanger.”

Meanwhile, Meryl Streep – who starred opposite Redford in 1985’s Out Of Africa and Lions For Lambs in 2007 – penned: “One of the lions has passed.

“Rest in peace my lovely friend.”

Author Stephen King has also reflected on the impact Redford had on the movie industry.

He wrote: “Robert Redford has passed away. He was part of a new and excited Hollywood in the 70s and 80s. Hard to believe he was 89.”

Star Trek icon William Shatner said: “Condolences to the family of Robert Redford.”

James Dreyfus heaped praise on Redford, dubbing him “truly legendary”.

He said: “RIP Robert Redford.

Terrific actor, brilliant actor. Truly legendary.”

Colman Domingo thanked Redford for his “everlasting impact” on the movie industry.

He wrote: “With love and admiration. Thank you Mr. Redford for your everlasting impact. Will be felt for generations. R.I.P.”

Marlee Matlin – the star of the Academy Award-winning 2021 picture CODA – shared a touching tribute to Redford, and said the movie had won its three honours thanks to its appearance at the Sundance Film Festival.

She penned: “Our film, CODA, came to the attention of everyone because of Sundance. And Sundance happened because of Robert Redford.

“A genius has passed. RIP Robert Redford.”

Bong Joon Ho To Serve As Marrakech Film Festival Jury President

by jummy84 August 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Bong Joon Ho will serve as the jury president of this year’s Marrakech Film Festival.

This year’s event runs from November 28 to December 6. The jury awards the Étoile d’Or to one of the 14 first and second feature-length films in the international competition.

“For many years, Marrakech has been a champion of fresh, beautiful films. I’m delighted and honored to be part of that tradition,” Bong said in a statement. “I look forward to sharing a powerful cinematic experience with the festival audience and reflecting on the true value of ‘cinema.’  Our anticipation and excitement will be palpable in front of the big screens of Marrakech.”

Director Bong is coming off the release of his eighth feature, Mickey 17. Adapted from Edward Ashton’s 2022 sci-fi novel of ‘Mickey 7’, Mickey 17 revolves around a directionless man living in a near future who signs up for a job as an “expendable”, or disposable employee sent on dangerous missions who is automatically regenerated if he perishes on the job. Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo star in the film.

Bong’s other credits include Barking Dogs Never Bite (2000), Memories of Murder (2003), The Host (2006), Mother (2009), Snowpiercer (2013), Okja (2017), and the history-making Parasite (2019).

In March, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles opened the exhibition Director’s Inspiration: Bong Joon Ho. It is the first-ever exhibition dedicated to the Oscar-winning director and traces his creative development through his films and the films that most influenced him. The exhibition will run until January 10th, 2027.

Dear Media President Paige Port on Her Daily Routine and What It Really Takes to Create a Hit Podcast

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Listen up! Dear Media president Paige Port and DITL (a.k.a. Day in the Life) host is spilling all the secrets to building a top-charting podcast.

While the entertainment expert, who has interviewed Jordin Sparks, Harry Hamlin, and Hannah Brown, is usually uncovering celebrities’ daily routines, ET flipped the script to see how Port manages her own busy schedule.

Let’s Not Talk About the Husband

“During the week, I’m up around 6 a.m. and I start the day with a workout. I usually do a mix of F45, obé, and Form before shifting into mom mode,” she shares. “My husband gets our two kids up and out of bed, and by the time I get home, it’s time to get them ready for school.”

From there, the entrepreneur heads to the network’s office in West Hollywood, California, where she helps A-listers like Khloé Kardashian, Scheana Shay, and Kristin Cavallari turn their ideas into hit shows.

“My day is typically spent in meetings with our talent and team,” Port notes.

Khloé in Wonder Land

As for why many stars are flocking to this format: “A podcast gives them the time and space to share their stories in their own words. It creates a direct, intimate connection with their audience that feels both unfiltered and intentional.”

Whether Port is the behind the mic, or behind-the-scenes, she believes authenticity is essential for making engaging content.

“People want depth and connection in a way that fits into their daily lives. … It’s all about creating a space that feels warm, inviting, and curious,” she shares.

Dear Media

“If you’re truly interested, that energy translates and makes the conversation more engaging. … When guests feel listened to and not rushed, they open up and share the most candid moments.”

As for other tips to flourish in the space, Port says consistency is key.

“The shows that succeed are the ones that show up week after week and build trust with their audience over time. Also, good audio and video quality always helps.”

bitchy | Ghislaine Maxwell ‘never saw the president in any type of massage setting’

by jummy84 August 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Last month, Donald Trump’s severely compromised Department of Justice sent high-ranking officials down to “interview” Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell is sitting in federal prison, where she’s three years into a 20-year sentence for human trafficking and more. Ghislaine was given limited immunity to speak to the DOJ, and she’s already been rewarded with a move to a lower-security prison (and more perks). So, we already knew that she was saying all of the “right” things to Trump’s people, all of whom were desperately trying to cover their asses and make it seem like they weren’t part of a years-long effort to obstruct justice and cover up Trump’s longtime associations with a convicted human trafficking rapist and predator. Well, transcripts from Ghislaine’s interview have been released and wouldn’t you know, she claims that she never saw Trump do or say anything untoward.

Convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, who is seeking a pardon from Donald Trump, told top Justice Department officials during an interview last month that she never witnessed the president “in any inappropriate setting” with girls introduced to him by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Maxwell, Epstein’s co-conspirator who is serving a 20-year federal prison sentence, makes unfailingly flattering references to Trump, according to transcripts of the conversation released by the Justice Department on Friday. She says she “never” observed Trump receive a “massage,” which is the term prosecutors have said Epstein and Maxwell used as code language to describe sexual encounters with the girls and young women they recruited.

“I actually never saw the president in any type of massage setting,” she said in a hastily arranged interview that took place in Florida over the course of two days last month. “I never witnessed the president in any inappropriate setting in any way. The president was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.”

[From Politico]

Yeah, she’s just lying her ass off. She’s trying to say all the right things to save herself and her new friends in the Trump administration. I guess the DOJ people didn’t ask her about all of those times she and Jeffrey Epstein used Mar-a-Lago as a hunting ground, seemingly with Trump’s knowledge?

Incidentally, she’s also trying to protect her interests in the UK. The DOJ also asked her about Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre. When Giuffre was 17 years old, she was trafficked to Andrew BY Ghislaine, IN Ghislaine’s London home. Ghislaine denied all of it, claiming that: “I never, at any time, set Andrew up to have relations with her or any other human being ever. And I can categorically state that her characterization of whatever may or may not have happened, could—physically would just no. And plus, I was in the [countryside], so all of that’s just not conceivable.” She also said she couldn’t see Andrew doing anything he’s accused of because: “He’s so English. He’s so—he had a tie on.” He had a tie on… on the night you didn’t see him and didn’t traffic Virginia to him and you were in the country? He was wearing a tie that night? And Andrew paid more than $10 million to Guiffre because he never met her, right?
