Shah Rukh Khan Confirms He’ll Greet Fans Present Outside Mannat on His Birthday

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Shah Rukh Khan, the King Khan of Bollywood, recently held one of his popular, impromptu #AskSRK sessions on the social media platform X, giving fans a chance to interact directly with him. As always, the session was filled with his signature wit, charm, and humorous answers, much to the delight of his massive following. The interaction quickly trended, proving once again that the superstar’s social media presence is just as engaging as his on-screen roles.

One question, however, stood out and quickly became a talking point, as it touched upon a beloved annual tradition. With his birthday on November 2 approaching, a fan directly asked the star about his plans to continue his iconic yearly ritual. The fan asked, “Sir is baar Mannat pe fans ko greet karne aaoge?” This question refers to the much-anticipated moment when SRK steps out onto the balcony of Mannat to wave and acknowledge the sea of fans gathered below.

Of course but may have to wear a hard hat!!! https://t.co/31bOcyxAsn

Every year, thousands of well-wishers and fans travel from across the country, and even the world, to stand outside his home, hoping to catch a glimpse of the superstar on his special day. It is an event that has become synonymous with the actor’s birthday celebrations, with the streets outside Mannat turning into a festive zone every November 2.

Never one to disappoint, especially when it comes to a humorous response, Shah Rukh Khan confirmed he would be continuing the tradition, but not without adding a funny disclaimer. He replied to the fan with a short, witty line that instantly went viral: “Of course but may have to wear a hard hat!!” The hilarious response confirmed that he’ll be in Mumbai to greet his fans after reports of him celebrating his 60th birthday in Alibaug went viral earlier today. The actor’s clever response was to hint at the ongoing construction at Mannat.

For decades, the Mannat greeting has been a symbol of the unique bond Shah Rukh Khan shares with his fans. The sight of SRK standing on his balcony, arms stretched out wide in his famous pose, remains an iconic image of his superstardom.

On the work front, Shah Rukh was last seen in his son Aryan Khan’s series Ba***ds of Bollywood, and will be seen next in the upcoming movie, King, directed by Siddharth Anand and starring his daughter Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone in key roles.

Bowen Yang was still featured on Saturday Night Live on multiple occasions despite missing the live taping of the late-night sketch show.

Earlier today, Deadline reported that Yang was going to miss SNL tonight as he was set to receive the Vantage Award at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.

Yang’s first mention on the Lorne Michaels-produced show was during Sabrina Carpenter‘s monologue.

The “Please Please Please” singer addressed the controversy surrounding her album cover, where she is seen kneeling in front of a man who is holding her by the hair. Carpenter joked that the man standing in front of her was actually Yang, showing him in a zoomed-out version of the album cover for Man’s Best Friend.

Yang’s bigger role on this week’s SNL was during a pre-taped sketch for the music video “Middle School Lovin’.” In the pop video, Yang and Carpenter play middle schoolers going to a school-sponsored dance where they “break the rules” and “grind” on each other.

“You know it girl, it’s finally time. I see you eyeing me at school. It’s been on both of our minds, and I’m feelin’ grown, twelve sprays of my dad’s cologne,” Yang sings in the pop video.

As the duo arrives at school, they sing, “We’re breaking the rules and I know that it’s wrong, but it’s feeling so right. We’re thirteen, but tonight is the night — we’re going to grind.”

Spectator by Seema Goswami: Focus on the present

Is your dining table beginning to get crowded with enormous dabbas of mithai and dry fruit? Do you now have a glut of scented candles and diyas littering your sideboard? And are you starting to get inundated with every kind of baked good imaginable? If the answer to any (or all) of these questions is yes, then welcome to the pre-Diwali period, when everyone is so busy sending out celebratory hampers that it becomes difficult not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Gift your reader friends books or giftcards from their favourite bookstore. (SHUTTERSTOCK)

Finding myself in something of the same situation, I decided (entirely in the public interest, you understand) to draw up a list of all the things that could work as Diwali gifts – and not leave the receiver completely unimpressed. So, here’s just some pointers; feel free to add anything you feel I may have missed out on.

Prepare an assortment of skincare products and make a fancy hamper out of it. (SHUTTERSTOCK)

· Books are always the perfect present, though they can get a little tricky if you are not sure of the other person’s tastes (or indeed if they already have a particular book). So, the next best thing is to offer a gift card for your favourite bookstore or even an Amazon gift card so that the receiver can choose something that works for him or her.

· Another thing that you can’t really go wrong with is skincare. Choose a brand that suits your pocket and put together a basket of sweet-smelling shower gel, face cream, moisturiser, or whatever takes your fancy. Stick a few flowers on the basket and you have a gift that is both pretty and pretty useful.

· I love receiving little pot plants on Diwali so I am going to go out on a limb here and say that they qualify as desirable presents. Just one caveat though: Please don’t give away fancy bonsai arrangements or terrariums that come with a dozen complicated instructions for maintenance. Just send out plants that are near-impossible to kill and everyone will be happy.

· Gifting experiences rather than things works as well – especially with close friends and family, whose preferences you are familiar with. It could be a gift coupon for a spa treatment, a haircut or a massage. As long as it feels like a special experience, it is always welcome.

Your coffee-obsessed friend will be impressed if you present them with a stash of coffee capsules. (SHUTTERSTOCK)

· Sometimes it works to be a little utilitarian as well. If you know that your friend has an expensive Nespresso habit, then gifting her a six-month – or yearly, if you’re feeling generous – supply of coffee capsules will earn you plenty of brownie points (and a nice cup of coffee too, for good measure).

· But if you are the traditional kind and insist on a good old-fashioned Diwali hamper, then here’s a pointer of some things that work well: A nice bottle of extra-virgin olive oil; a bottle of good red wine or whiskey; a small box of kaju katli; a colourful toran for its symbolic value; and a beautifully designed diya that can do duty even after the festival of lights has come and gone.

Anurag Kashyap and Guneet Monga to Present Manoj Bajpayee’s Jugnuma

by jummy84 August 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Manoj Bajpayee is all set to headline the upcoming feature Jugnuma, whose English title is The Fable. Director Ram Reddy will be helming the project, making it his second feature directorial. He had earlier directed the 2016 Kannada National Award-winning debut Thithi.

Jugnuma had successful premieres across film festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival and won the Best Film at Leeds International Film Festival and Special Jury Prize at Mami Mumbai Film Festival. Now, the makers have announced the India release date as well. Jugnuma will hit the big screen on September 12 and it will be presented by Guneet Monga Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap, who have come onboard as executive producers.

Set in the late 80s, the film follows Dev (Bajpayee), who discovers mysteriously burnt trees in his sprawling estate of fruit orchards nestled in the Indian Himalayas. In spite of all efforts, more fires break out, leading him to see himself and his family for who they truly are. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose and Tillotma Shome, among others.

“I had loved Raam’s Thithi, which was so rooted and genuine, and with Jugnuma, he has created a film that feels timeless,” Anurag Kashyap said in a statement. The filmmaker, who 0has previously collaborated with Bajpayee on the game-changing two-part epic Gangs of Wasseypur called his act in the film “unlike anything” the audience has seen before.
