Leon Thomas, GELO Perform at Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players Show

When word got out that the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event would be taking over Webster Hall for a free concert on Friday (Sept. 5), New Yorkers from all walks of life consumed three blocks waiting — and hoping — to get inside. Those lucky enough to gain entry celebrated every second of the night, as DJ Ohso meticulously spun through hip-hop bangers, sultry afro tunes and a little bit of Paramore to keep the crowd energized, engaged and hungry for a showcase from Billboard‘s Rookies of the Year.

Armanii kicked the night off with his signature blend of dancehall and hip-hop grooves, as fans swayed to “8:00 PM,” “JUMP (Bounce)” and others. Attendee’s workday blues than completely vanished thanks to Billboard‘s Hip-Hop Rookie of the Year GELO, who swaggered about the stage and ignited the party with the littest cuts off his debut album, League of My Own. While fans cheered and supported the newer tracks, it of course was his viral hit “Tweaker” that fully locked the crowd in with its unifying “woah’s” and “ahh’s.”

After a short breather, Odeal‘s presence was immediately felt throughout Webster’s Hall, as people erupted just at the mere sight of the African Rookie of the Year. There were dozens of diehard supporters in the audience, who screamed out every syllable of “Soh-Soh,” “London Summers” and of course “Miami,” with the soon-to-appear headliner Leon Thomas. Before that, though, Ravyn Lenae floated onto the stage to quickly transport the crowd to a more mystical realm. Lenae gracefully sang through her biggest hits including “One Wish” and “Love Me Not,” sprinkling pixie dust along the way like an R&B fairy godmother.

But it was Thomas that really brought the house down. He railed on the drums, shredded on the guitar, sang his absolute heart out — firing off every firearm in his musical arsenal and leaving no survivors. The crowd, admittedly a bit worn after such a lengthy showcase, rallied behind Thomas and fully came back to life as Ty Dolla $ign casually strutted out while singing his verse on “Far Fetched.” The DJ then queued up “Carnival” right after, the Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Ty’s Vultures 1 cut that hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 2024. As Ty sang through the single and hyped up the crowd, Leon and his band — for lack of a better term — rocked the f—k out. Then, almost like a fever dream, the night was over, leaving the crowd sweaty and satisfied in every way.

Baaghi 4 Maintains Box Office Power: 88,600 Tickets Sold By Day 3 Afternoon | Glamsham.com

Baaghi‭ ‬4, the newest in the high‑octane action franchise, maintains its strong theatrical run. On Day 3, up to 3 PM, the movie has already collected impressive footfall:
PVR Inox: 18,500 tickets sold
Cinepolis: 6,100 tickets sold

Total: 24,600 tickets sold across the two big chains

This contributes to a promising cumulative total of 88,600 tickets sold since the movie’s release.

Mid‑Day Momentum: A Solid Under‑Belt for Day 3

With 24,600 tickets already sold by mid-afternoon, Baaghi 4 shows sustained audience interest well into its opening week. The strong performance across PVR Inox and Cinepolis—two of India’s big multiplex chains—indicates widespread appeal in both urban and suburban markets.

Strategic Release Pays Off
Producers have obviously leveraged the franchise’s built-in audience and released the movie strategically. Strong early bookings combined with pre-release buzz have created a steady flow of viewers, sustaining brisk ticket movement even beyond the opening weekend. The movie’s mix of high-voltage stunts and star power continues to attract audiences, especially through evening and prime-time slots.

What Lies Ahead
As Day 3 moves into evening, momentum in ticket sales is likely to build, potentially pushing total figures well beyond the 100,000-ticket mark by day’s end. If the current trend continues, Baaghi 4 may set new standards for mid-week performance in the action genre

Ghostface Killah Taps Into the Power of Imagination

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Last year, Ghostface Killah told Rolling Stone that he was disappointed by the rap landscape, lamenting, “A lot of stuff be regular darts.” He added, “I don’t hear niggas doing storytelling no more.” His thoughts went viral, even becoming the catalyst for an additional conversation with Stephen A. Smith. While bemoaning a “lack of substance,” he declared, “We’re the type of niggas that can rhyme about an eyeball falling out your face, and having the police pick it up and put it in a plastic bag.”

He said “we,” but it feels like only Ghost would concoct that scenario — off the cuff, at that. Ghost has long been a rap surrealist, imbuing one of hip-hop’s most no-nonsense scenes, gritty New York rap, with a streak of vibrance and borderline whimsy. Only someone still in touch with their inner child could rap about a pimpin’ version of SpongeBob Squarepants like he did on “Underwater,” from his 2006 album Fishscale.

Supreme Clientele 2 rides the energy of his impassioned call for more creativity. He’s attempting to lead by example on a project with song concepts, skits, and lyrical highs reflecting someone that still loves making rap music. To be clear, Supreme Clientele 2 isn’t the masterpiece that the original 2000 album is. But there are plenty of credible rap fans who will argue you down that no other album is as good as Ghost’s id opus. This project, like his Wu-Brethren Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2, proposes that it doesn’t make sense to rate a sequel in terms of whether it’s as good as its decades-old precursor as much as how successfully the original concept was done justice.

A million rappers have rhymed about being raided by the feds like he did on “Iron Man.” But few would follow that up with this visual: “I threw my raps in thе fireplace, then right out of the smoke rose a dead man/He had big chains, sick frame, sick flames/Even had a white glove with him, thought he was Rick James.” At his best, Ghost straps listeners in on an 80 mile per hour rollercoaster featuring locked-in co-stars like M.O.P. (“Sample 420”) and Nas (“Love Me Anymore”), and cinematic details like putting kids in a bathroom and distracting them with Cheetos before a gunfight, as he does on the crime caper “Georgy Porgy.”

Editor’s picks

On “4th Disciple,” he evokes his classic verse on Wu-Tang Forever’s “Impossible,” while depicting himself trying to revive his friend Taj. On “The Trial,” he comes together with Raekwon, GZA, Method Man, and Reek the Villain, who all play different roles in a fictional trial. It’s a standout track of the Wu’s later years that speaks to the sonic ingenuity that Ghost has said was lacking in current hip-hop. “Metaphysics” feels the closest to the original Supreme Clientele’s spirit, where he’s rhyming free associatively over a sparse breakbeat with horn hits then opens the second verse dishing, “I could put my mama face on the pancake box.” Like some of Ghost’s most memorable moments, it’s unclear what he’s getting at, but the phrase is so vivid and comedic that it just works.

He’s similarly colorful on “Breakbeat,” where he spits rapid-fire over a pair of Eighties-style drum loops, rhyming, “Dodgin’ bullets while I’m guardin’ the base like Steve Garvey.” The attrition on his vocal cords is apparent throughout the album, including on this track, and it affects how cleanly his once flawless flow unfurls. But he’s still tearing through bars on the self-produced song. He follows that up with the more conversational “Beat Box,” where he’s flirtatiously rhyming back and forth with Aisha Hall over a Dougie Fresh-inspired composition. After those two overt Eighties tributes comes his lead single “Rap Kingpin,” where he and Scram Jones link Rakim’s “Check Out My Melody” with remnants of Supreme Clientele standout “Mighty Healthy.” Kudos to whoever imagined those two melodies blending as seamlessly as they do here. The song is another example of hip-hop’s capacity for cross-generation conversations — could we get a Rakim remix?

That said, the 22-track album has moments that it could’ve done without. “Soul Thang” runs long without him in the second half of the song. “Candyland” also doesn’t feel necessary, with his bar “Bill Cosby, K.O. roofies, this for the groupies” being a disturbing clunker. And while his “Pause” skit is a funny and self-deprecating take on fragile masculinity, his Dave Chappelle-featured ”Sale of the Century” skit is marred by a contestant on the track’s fictional game show who regressively boasts about waking up and slapping his wife in the morning. Sure, Ghost has his creative license to put that in a skit without anyone attributing it directly to him, but the skit was funny without joking about spousal abuse.

Overall, in line with Slick Rick’s and Raekwon’s recent albums, which were also a part of Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It series, Ghost gives it all he has in 2025 over golden-era-evoking breakbeats and a mesh of soul and funk samples from his youth. No, it’s not a one-of-one monument of impeccable poetics like the original, but what is? It’s invigorating to hear and see the effort Ghost put into Supreme Clientele 2, one of the most imaginative, outrageous listens of the year.

The Power Couple’s Downtime: Virat Kohli And Anushka Sharma Enjoy Leisurely London Walk | Glamsham.com

A new video of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli has gone viral on social media, giving fans a glimpse into the couple’s peaceful life in London. The clip shows the duo casually strolling through the streets with another couple, blending effortlessly into the crowd. Both Anushka and Virat were seen dressed in casual outfits, radiating ease and comfort as they enjoyed lighthearted banter and laughter. Virat was also spotted carrying a large water bottle, sparking speculation that the two had just wrapped up a workout session.

Fans React With Joy

The video, widely circulated by fan pages, has triggered an outpouring of reactions online. Admirers expressed happiness at seeing the star couple enjoying life away from the constant glare of the limelight. One fan wrote, “They finally found their peace and calm over fame.” Another commented, “He couldn’t have this life in India. Gladly, he is living a normal life in the UK.”

Some netizens pointed out the stroller with the couple accompanying them, speculating that the meet-up was likely a bonding moment between parents. Another fan observed, “This is exactly what they craved for! Good for them.” Many echoed the sentiment that the pair’s decision to step away from constant fame was wise, with one comment reading, “The line ‘Peace over fame’ hits hard.”

Choosing Privacy Over Spotlight

The heartwarming moment comes as no surprise, given that Virat and Anushka have often emphasized the importance of privacy. They maintain a strict no-photo policy for their children, choosing to shield their family life from the media spotlight. Their move to London reportedly happened after the birth of their second child, Akaay, in February 2024, as they sought a calmer environment away from public scrutiny.

A Journey of Love and Family

Virat and Anushka’s love story began in 2013 when they met on the sets of a commercial. After nearly four years of dating, the couple tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony in Tuscany, Italy, in December 2017. Their first child, Vamika, was born in January 2021, followed by the birth of their son Akaay in February 2024. Despite their global stardom, the couple has consistently chosen to prioritize family life over fame.

Peace Over Fame

While the duo remains among the most influential celebrity couples in India, their London chapter reflects a conscious choice—embracing normalcy, cherishing parenthood, and prioritizing peace over constant attention. Fans, meanwhile, continue to celebrate their journey, admiring the balance they have struck between fame and family.
