Will there be a Sakamoto Days season 2? Potential release date and more

by jummy84 September 29, 2025

Despite that, the airing of season 1’s finale – episode #22, Each One’s Mission – hasn’t been followed with tons of information about a possible Sakamoto Days season 2, or the show’s 23rd episode that would start it off.

That said, we’ve put together all of the information available right now to tell you how likely a second season of the hit anime is and when it could happen.

Will there be a Sakamoto Days season 2?

Sakamoto Days season 2 will undoubtedly pick up from the start of the JCC Infiltration Arc. Netflix

At the time of writing, a Sakamoto Days season 2 hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but a follow-up season is practically inevitable with the anime’s massive success so far; season 1 was not only enjoyed by critics, but also achieved 24 million views during the first half of the year – as revealed by Netflix in July.

Whilst not the highest-performing show on the streaming platform altogether (Naruto scored 45 million views), that’s still a massive number for a brand new anime franchise.

With season 1 finishing after its final episode on 22nd September 2025, we likely won’t see a season 2 announcement for Sakamoto Days for some time; this is usually the case with anime – especially with studios like Sakamoto Days’ TMS Entertainment.

Nevertheless, with the success of the anime and the massive amount of chapters in the anime still to cover, we’re hopeful that plans for Sakamoto Days’ second season are being spoken about behind the scenes.

When could a potential Sakamoto Days season 2 release date be?

With the workload of its anime studio in mind, we estimate that Sakamoto Days could come back for season 2 (starting with episode 23) with a possible release date window of early 2027 for its first cour, followed by summer 2027 for its second cour.

Normally, we’d expect a launch of early to mid-2026. However, the studio behind Sakamoto Days, TMS Entertainment, is made up of an ambitious team that takes on multiple anime at the same time – Rent-a-Girlfriend, Dr. Stone, Honey Lemon Soda, etc – jumping between seasons for each season as it comes.

As a result, we believe Sakamoto Days’ second season could get pushed back as a result, as follow-up seasons of TMS’s other shows have taken at least a year to produce.

On the other hand, we’re aware of Netflix’s tendency to prioritise shows that are a definite success, marking the potential for TMS Entertainment to fast-track the next part of Sakamoto Days.

As soon as we hear any update saying we might see episode 23 of Sakamoto Days sooner, we’ll update this guide accordingly.

Didn’t Sakamoto Days season 2 already air?

Rather than season 2 of Sakamo Days, the batch of episodes we just saw finish in September 2025 was the second half of season 1 — known as a second cour.

In anime, cours are blocks of 10-14 episodes, either making up a series’ whole season, or two parts equalling 20 to 26 episodes. Whilst sometimes having a break in-between, or back-to-back with new openings and endings (like Jujutsu Kaisen season 1), both cours still count as a single anime season.

Sakamoto Days season 1 was a prime example of this: season 1’s episodes 1 to 11, airing between January and March 2025, made up Part 1; episodes 12 to 22, dropping between July and September 2025, made up the second cour to become Part 2.

With the many chapters of manga still to cover, we’d expect Sakamoto Days season 2 to follow the same pattern if it is renewed.

Where to pick up the Sakamoto Days manga after season 1

Sakamoto Days season 2 would have more wild fights, like that against Mad Horiguchi in season 1. Netflix

With the wrapping up of season 1 with episode 22, the Sakamoto Days anime covers up to chapter 73 of the manga – meaning you should start reading chapter 74 of the manga and onwards if you want to start reading ahead.

There may be some slight crossover with what was covered in episode 22 and after chapter 73, but because Sakamoto Days season 1 essentially ended with kicking off with the Japan Clear Creation arc, it’s better to start from this point for consistency and to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Sakamoto Days streams exclusively on Netflix in the UK, US, and other territories worldwide. At the time of writing, Sakamoto Days is not on Crunchyroll or any other alternative anime streaming services.

Bigg Boss 19: Salman Khan’s Fiery Lecture To Amaal Mallik – ‘Don’t Waste Your Potential’ | Glamsham.com

The upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19 promises high drama, emotional breakdowns, sharp confrontations, and moments of laughter—everything fans expect from the reality show. This week, host Salman Khan takes center stage as he reprimands contestants, especially music composer Amaal Mallik, for his conduct inside the house.

In a promo released by JioCinema, Salman confronts Amaal about his aggressive behaviour, repeated use of foul language, and personal attacks on fellow contestants’ families. Calling him out directly, Salman says,
“Amaal, you came here saying you wanted to clean your image. That’s clearly not happening. You’re constantly abusing and dragging families into fights. Think about your fans, the Amaalians—many of them are kids. Do you want them to speak like this?”

Salman also reminded Amaal of his immense talent and the responsibility that comes with being a public figure. He added,
“You’re a very talented boy. Don’t waste your potential. I want you to come out of this show as a winner—not just in the game, but in life.”
A visibly emotional Amaal acknowledged Salman’s words, nodding in agreement.

Adding more spice to the episode, Gauahar Khan, winner of Bigg Boss 7, will appear to give her brother-in-law Awez Darbar a reality check. She will also call out Amaal for his derogatory comments about Awez, stating, “Amaal, the character you’re showing is very two-faced. You belong to no one.”

Reports also suggest that former Bigg Boss OTT finalist Abhishek Malhan and comedian Harsh Gujral will join the episode for added entertainment.

Following the recent commentary task, the contestants nominated for eviction this week include: Ashnoor Kaur, Awez Darbar, Pranit More, Mridul Tiwari, Gaurav Khanna, and Neelam Giri.

No simulcast deal for potential Jays’ clincher

TORONTO – Baseball fans in Canada should not expect a repeat of a deal that allowed Sportsnet to air a simulcast of Apple TV’s Friday Night Baseball broadcast that featured the Toronto Blue Jays last week.

As a result of the agreement, the streamer was given the rights for this Friday’s game between the Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays. The matchup could be a potential division clincher for Toronto.

“Apple has it exclusively,” a Sportsnet spokesperson said Thursday afternoon in an email.

Sportsnet, the Canadian team’s domestic rights-holder, reached a deal with the Blue Jays, Apple TV and Major League Baseball ahead of last Friday’s game between Toronto and Kansas City.

That matchup had the potential to be a playoff clincher for the Blue Jays. The Royals pounded Toronto 20-1 that night but the Blue Jays would secure a post-season berth two days later.

Expert says the Blue Jays have a good chance at making the playoffs this year

A similar scenario exists this week. Depending on results from Thursday’s games, the Blue Jays could have a chance on Friday to win the American League East Division title for the first time since 2015.

However, instead of airing on Sportsnet, the Jays-Rays matchup will only be shown on Apple TV+, leaving non-subscribers without a viewing option.

There were no plans to change that arrangement, a baseball source confirmed Thursday.

Almost all Blue Jays games air on Sportsnet, but a handful of Toronto games throughout the 162-game season air on Apple TV+ as part of the streamer’s partnership with MLB.

Entering play Thursday, the Blue Jays had a magic number of four to clinch the East. Toronto was tied with the New York Yankees for first place but the Blue Jays hold the tiebreaker advantage.

Chances of a Friday clinch scenario were certainly possible but appeared unlikely.

A Toronto win over the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night, coupled with a New York loss to the Chicago White Sox, would trim the Blue Jays’ magic number to two.

However, the slumping Blue Jays had dropped six of their last seven games entering the series finale against the Red Sox, who were only three games back in the East.

The Yankees, meanwhile, were looking to complete a three-game sweep of the lowly White Sox, who are in last place in the American League.

On Friday, the Blue Jays-Rays game will start a couple minutes after the start of the Yankees-Orioles matchup. If Toronto entered that game with a magic number of two, the Blue Jays would claim the East crown if they beat the Rays and if New York lost to Baltimore.

The regular season continues through Sunday.

The top two division winners will earn byes to the best-of-five division series. The other four AL playoff teams will play in best-of-three wild-card series.

Toronto made the playoffs three times between 2020 and ’23 but was swept in the wild-card series each time.

The Blue Jays haven’t won a post-season game since 2016. Toronto’s last World Series title came in 1993.
