The King of Pop’s story is coming to life on the big screen — and it’s staying in the family. Jaafar Jackson, the 29-year-old nephew of Michael Jackson, is set to portray his legendary uncle in the upcoming biopic Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, the Oscar-winning producer behind Bohemian Rhapsody and The Departed.

Production on the film began earlier this year, with a worldwide theatrical release scheduled for April 24, 2026. Early photos from the set show Jaafar’s striking resemblance to his uncle, capturing the energy and charisma that defined Michael’s career.

So, who is Jaafar Jackson? Here’s what you need to know about Jaafar below.

1. Jaafar will play Michael Jackson in a new biopic.

Antoine Fuqua confirmed Jaafar’s casting on January 30, 2023 He posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Jaafar in rehearsals for the Michael Jackson biopic. “Proud to announce @jaafarjackson as Michael — the motion picture event that explores the journey of the man who became the King of Pop. Coming soon,” Antoine wrote on Instagram.

Jaafar shared the same photo on his Instagram and wrote, “I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.”

Michael’s estate has given the rights to his musical catalog. The upcoming biopic will “not shy away from the controversies of Jackson’s life, the pedophile accusations that haunted his latest years up to his death in 2009 at age 50, from cardiac arrest caused by a cocktail of sedatives,” according to Deadline.

2. Jaafar is Jermaine Jackson’s son.

Jaafar is one of Jermaine’s 7 kids. Jaafar was born in 1996 to Jermaine, Michael’s older brother, and Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza. Alejandra notably dated Jermaine’s younger brother, Randy, and also had two kids with him. Jermaine and Alejandra were married from 1995 to 2003.

3. Jaafar can sing and dance like his uncle.

Back in 2019, Jaafar released the music video for his song “Got Me Singing.” He proves that the Jackson family’s talents are still running in the family. Jaafar shows off his vocals and dancing skills in the music video. He started his music career at 12 years old and can play the piano, according to his IMDb profile.

4. The biopic will mark Jaafar’s acting debut.

Jaafar has appeared as himself in a number of family-oriented projects, including The Jacksons: Next Generation and Tito Jackson’s music video in 2021. Playing his uncle in the biopic will be his first onscreen role.

5. Jaafar initially wanted to be a professional golfer.

Before he started his music career, Jaafar had aspirations of being a professional golfer. However, after being surrounded by his talented family, he soon followed in his family’s footsteps and became an entertainer.

The upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, features a star-studded ensemble cast. The film explores the beginnings of the late King of Pop, who died in 2009, and how his time with the Jackson 5 catapulted him to build one of the most successful solo music careers in the world.

Below, get to know each star from the Michael biopic movie and who they’re playing.

Jaafar Jackson – Michael Jackson

As the nephew of the late King of Pop, it was only right that Jaafar would honor his uncle. Jaafar is a singer, actor and dancer, bringing his triple-threat skills to the big screen. In 2019, he released his first single, “Got Me Singing.”

After being cast in the role as Michael back in 2023, Jaafar took to Instagram to gush that he was “humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life.”

Colman Domingo – Joe Jackson

Colman is playing the role of Michael’s father, Joe Jackson. The actor has been seen in various roles, the most recent being Candyman, The Running Man and Wicked For Good.

Joe was the patriarch of the Jackson 5 as he pushed his sons to pursue a music career in the late 1960s. Joe died in 2018.

Nia Long – Katherine Jackson

Nia plays the role of Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson. Having grown up with a musical background, Katherine aspired to be a country music singer or an actress.

As for Nia, she’s best known for her performances in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Boyz n The Hood and NCIS: Los Angeles.

Jamal R. Henderson – Jermaine Jackson

Jamal is playing Jermain, the fourth child of Katherine and Joe and second vocalist and bass guitarist for the Jackson 5.

Tre Horton – Marlon Jackson

Marlon will be played by Tre. The sixth child of Joe had a twin brother, who died shortly after his birth.

Rhyan Hill – Tito Jackson

Rhyan is playing the late Tito, who was a founding member of the Jackson 5. After the band found success, Tito embarked on a solo career as a blues musician. Tito died in September 2024 after suffering from a heart attack. He was 70 years old.

David-Jones – Jackie Jackson

David is playing the role of the eldest Jackson brother, Jackie, who is the second child of Joe and Katherine.

Kat Graham – Diana Ross

Kat is portraying the Queen of Motown, Diana, whose 1969 work, Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5, put the young siblings on the map in the music industry. Known for her hits like “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” Diana was Motown’s most successful act of the 1960s.

Miles Teller – John Branca

Miles is playing the role of entertainment lawyer and manager John, whom Michael hired after firing his father as his manager. Michael eventually fired John due to his alleged financial meddling.

bitchy | Prince William looked unfortunate playing beach volleyball with Brazilian kids

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Don’t get me wrong, I love volleyball and beach volleyball. Volleyball is my jam and it’s super-fun to play and to watch. I do not blame Prince William for putting a beach volleyball session on his Rio de Janeiro itinerary whatsoever. But this is exceptionally bad staff work – letting William play beach volleyball in jeans/trousers, and not shutting it down when William was flailing all over the beach and making those crazy faces as he tried to play the game with little kids. Yikes.

Anyway, these are photos from William’s first day in Rio, where he checked off a bunch of appearances and events in a steady clip. He received the keys to the city (Rio) from the mayor. He visited Sugarloaf Mountain. He did a meet-and-greet and took selfies with Brazilians. He went to a football pitch and kicked a ball. And yes, the volleyball photo-op.

The real story of William’s first day in Brazil is that his brother stole his thunder by announcing a trip to Toronto this week. Harry will be highly visible and doing events on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Also on Wednesday: William’s Earthshot Prize ceremony. Then later in the week – I don’t know if it’s on Thursday or Friday – William is supposed to make a “landmark” speech at COP30. While William is surely seething about the head-to-head competition, he should be thanking Harry. More people will pay attention to William’s Rio stuff because of the comparison with his brother. Plus, if those volleyball pics are a harbinger of things to come, William should find Harry’s Toronto visit invaluable as a distraction.

The Telegraph’s Victoria Ward was seething about Harry’s announced trip, as were other royal reporters and royalists. Ward pointed out something I had already assumed: while Harry gave his father/Buckingham Palace a heads up about his trip to Toronto, Harry doesn’t tell Kensington Palace jacksh-t. The question then becomes… why didn’t Buckingham Palace inform KP about Harry’s trip? Meanwhile, Tom Sykes devoted a whole Royalist Substack piece to Harry “dramatically reigniting his long-running war” with Huevo. Sykes also called it “needlessly antagonistic,” which is a fancy way of saying “hilarious.” Sykes actually made one good point though – it’s not like Harry has scheduled something at the same time as the family’s Remembrance Day events. All Harry is doing is some pre-Remembrance events, and he’ll presumably stay somewhat quiet on Remembrance Sunday.

Prince Andrew reportedly spends his days playing 'Call Of Day'

Prince Andrew reportedly spends his days playing ‘Call Of Day’

by jummy84 October 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Prince Andrew allegedly now spends his days playing Call Of Duty after giving up his royal titles earlier this month.

Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles The Third, stepped back from being a working royal in 2019 after he was accused of sexual assault and having a close relationship with billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew “vigorously denies” the allegations, but earlier this month gave up his royal titles including Duke Of York. “In discussion with the King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” he said in a statement (via the BBC).

However Prince Andrew is still refusing to leave the 30-bedroom Royal Lodge after he took out a 75-year lease on the property in 2003. The situation is currently being investigated by Parliament’s spending watchdog.

According to a new report shared earlier this week, the disgraced Prince Andrew spends all day playing Call of Duty on a wall-to-wall television and “clinging to the piles of teddies in his bedroom.”

The Sun’s source went to claim Andrew “loves games like Call Of Duty [and] war games with helicopters. He certainly doesn’t play FIFA, he’s got no interest in football.” He also really enjoys “war films and watching golf on TV.”

Royal author Ingrid Seward added: “His life is very empty, he’s very lonely and I think he’s probably extremely bored. I remember Fergie telling me way back that Andrew always loved video games and he’s an aficionado of television.”

“Personally, I think the only future available to Andrew is for him to go and live away from Windsor and start a new life, somewhere that he can’t be extradited to America,” she continued. “Otherwise, he’s just stuck in a rut where every day will be the same and he will be pilloried at every turn.”

Earlier this week it was also revealed that Prince Andrew hosted Jeffrey Epstein at the Royal Lodge in 2006 as part of his daughter Beatrice’s birthday celebrations in 2006, two months after a US arrest warrant had been issued for Epstein for the sexual assault of a minor (via the BBC).

Next week a posthumous memoir by Ms Giuffre, one of the girls who accused Andrew of sexual assault, will be released after she took her own life earlier this year. “All the years of work that she put in is now coming to some sort of justice, and these monsters can’t escape from it,” her brother Sky Roberts told the BBC. “The truth will find its way out.”

Neil Young, Joan Baez Not Playing TPUSA Halftime

Neil Young, Joan Baez Not Playing TPUSA Halftime

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

For anyone eagerly awaiting an “alternative” to the Super Bowl halftime show featuring Bad Bunny, the “All-American Halftime Show” appears to be on, and for the same day, Feb. 8.

But contrary to what you may have seen on social media, Joan Baez and Neil Young, at the very least, will not be part of it.

AI slop continues to seep into social media, with Boomer-era musicians continually depicted in false photos. As Rolling Stone has previously reported, bogus images of classic rockers in hospitals or singing at the graves of other rockers have flooded the internet — fooling some fans in the process and provoking laughs in just as many. (No, Steven Tyler did not visit Robert Plant in a hospital after he “collapses on stage.”)

The lineup for Turning Point USA‘s “All-American Half-Time Show” — “celebrating faith, family and freedom” — hasn’t yet been announced. (One can, however, go to TPUSA’s website to vote for which category of music you’d like to see and hear, which includes, tellingly, “Anything in English.”) But that hasn’t stopped the AI machine from churning out at least one fake TPUSA half-time ad announcing that Baez and Young will be co-headlining “a heartfelt and patriotic alternative to the Super Bowl 60 halftime event” that will “honor the enduring legacy of Charlie Kirk.” To ram home the point, a football field and large American flag are shown in the background. In overblown language familiar to anyone who tracks such things, the post adds, “With Joan’s golden voice and Neil’s grace-filled harmony, the All-American Halftime Show will turn the world’s biggest stage into a moment of hope and homecoming.”

Reps for Young and Baez declined to comment, much like reps for Bob Dylan, Phil Collins, Bruce Springsteen, and others who have passed on making statements about AI imagery that’s hoodwinked whatever percentage of their fan bases.

The inclusion of Baez and Young, two particularly devoted Trump bashers, is especially amusing in light of Young’s new anti-Trump protest song “Big Crime” and Baez’s criticisms of the president. And let’s not forget their participation in the L.A. stop of this year’s Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, where they were also joined by Maggie Rogers. There, Baez sang the folk song “Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around” with updated Trump-era lyrics ( “Ain’t gonna let no white supremacists turn me around”) and Young led the crowd in a sing-along of “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

Trending Stories

Another bogus post claims that “six legends” of country, including Willie Nelson, will be partaking in the same bizarro-universe halftime show. “More AI horseshit about Willie,” a rep for Nelson tells Rolling Stone. “They obviously don’t know anything about Willie, do they?”

To quote one commentator on the Young-Baez fabrication: “I don’t think so, but nice try, dingbats.”

Nia Long Reflects on Playing Michael Jackson’s Mom Katherine: ‘I Know What It Is to Be a Mother, But Not to Raise a Superstar’

Nia Long is opening up about the emotional journey of portraying Katherine Jackson in the upcoming biopic Michael.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the actress reflected on stepping into the role of the Jackson family matriarch, calling it “an opportunity of a lifetime.”

“I get so emotional,” Long, 54, said. “It’s not kind of a dream come true — it’s a dream come true.”

The Best Man star said she approached the role with deep reverence, describing Katherine as a woman whose “spirit is strong and kind” and whose grace inspired her throughout filming.

“It’s a huge responsibility to represent a woman who is iconic, who has carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, who is still with us gracefully,” she explained.

Though Long hasn’t yet met Katherine Jackson in person, she said she hopes the 94-year-old matriarch “enjoyed the film.”

The actress, who shares sons Massai and Kez with ex-partner Ime Udoka, drew from her own experience as a mother while preparing for the part.

“I know what it is to be a mother,” she said. “But I don’t know what it is to raise a superstar.”

Long stars alongside Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, who portrays Joe Jackson, and Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew Jaafar Jackson, who plays the late pop icon.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, Michael will chronicle the highs and lows of the King of Pop’s life and career while also highlighting the strength and resilience of the Jackson family.

For Long, the role represents a powerful new chapter in her career — one she’s still processing.

“All of these wonderful things are happening at once … it still feels not real,” she admitted. “It’s allowing me to enjoy it. It’s allowing me to be grateful and to live with a great deal of humility.”

Michael is set to bring Katherine Jackson’s quiet strength and unwavering faith to the big screen — through the eyes of an actress who understands the power of family, love, and legacy.

Criminal Playing A Hero? Abhinav Kashyap’s Explosive Comments On Salman Khan! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

The old rivalry between Salman Khan and director Abhinav Kashyap has resurfaced with a new series of comments from both parties. Abhinav, whose claim to fame is working on the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg, took another scathing jibe at the Bollywood mega star, dubbing him a “criminal” in an interview recently.

Talking to Bollywood Thikana, 51-year-old director Abhinav bashed Salman’s new movie Battle of Galwan, in which the actor will essay the role of a soldier. Abhinav bluntly stated, “A criminal like him will play a soldier?” pointing towards the numerous legal cases Salman has been facing all these years. He also added that it is not Salman who gets most hurt by his words but his fans.

Kashyap then went on to claim that Salman’s real problem with him stems from the fact that he could never be “bought.” He stated, “That’s what bothers him. His money is useless here. I’m not for sale,” making it clear that he sees his criticism as a matter of principle rather than personal vendetta. “I speak only from truth, not hate,” he added.

Salman didn’t stay absolutely silent in response. On Weekend Ka Vaar of Bigg Boss 19, the actor seemed to make a veiled but sharp comment about Abhinav without naming him. “There’s one more Dabangg guy who’s taking jibes at me and Aamir Khan as well. I just want to ask, you got any work, brother?” he smiled, eliciting laughter from viewers.

Salman subsequently went on to suggest that Abhinav had ruined his own career by always berating everyone else in the industry instead of attending to his art. “Attend to your family,” he counseled, implying that bitterness will get you nowhere. He finished up on a religious note: “You want to bring me on my knees, but I do that every day for God.”

This conflict is not new. The conflict between Salman Khan and Abhinav Kashyap started in 2010, when Abhinav accused Salman and his brothers, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan, of hijacking Dabangg and pushing him out of his own project. Ever since, Kashyap has incessantly accused the Khan family of attempting to destroy his career and of employing their clout to stifle his prospects in the industry.

With this recent trade, it’s evident the controversy between the director and the star is still far from over, again dragging their buried feud to the forefront.

Idris Elba on Playing the U.S. President in 'A House of Dynamite'

Idris Elba on Playing the U.S. President in ‘A House of Dynamite’

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Although “A House of Dynamite” star Idris Elba did say at the Netflix release’s Venice Film Festival press conference that he “does not have the courage to be in politics,” he certainly does not shy away from playing heads of state on film. Over a decade after his Golden Globe-nominated performance as Nelson Mandela, former President of South Africa, in “Long Walk to Freedom,” the British actor has played both the British Prime Minister in “Heads of State,” and the President of the United States in the new political thriller from Best Director Oscar-winner Kathryn Bigelow.

Speaking to IndieWire over Zoom, Elba said that while he is still not interested in being a politician, “I’m not shy of perhaps bringing my voice to something, bringing my soapbox in some way and articulating what I’d like to see happening.” But in accepting the presidential role in “A House of Dynamite,” he was not driven by some pain point he wanted to address, as much as he was excited to work with the people behind the film.

Diagnosing why exactly he seems like the right person to play political leaders, the seven-time Primetime Emmy nominee said, “You see actors oftentimes get into civil roles because of [the] skillset transfer into these things, but it’s really not something good that I’m going for.” He added, “I read this thing that said, ‘Typically we choose our leaders because of height and length of forehead.’ And I was like, ‘Well, yeah, I’m tall and I do have a forehead, so maybe that’s what’s going on here.’”

Below, Elba shares what it was like to not only play a President who must react to a nuclear missile headed for the United States but also what it was like to watch the movie as an audience member, without prior access to the full scope of the film, which also features strong performances from a star-studded cast that includes Rebecca Ferguson and Tracy Letts.

The following interview has been condensed for length and clarity.

IndieWire: Earlier this year, we saw you play the British Prime Minister in “Heads of State,” and now you play the President of the United States in “A House of Dynamite.” When and how did you become the go-to guy to play a world leader?

Idris Elba: When Morgan Freeman said, “I ain’t doing that no more.”

That’s a better answer than anything I could have thought.

Yeah, I snuck in there. It’s not by design. I found it very funny playing the Prime Minister and knowing that I am about to play the President. I was thinking about [how] the films are going to be in a similar cycle. So I was like, “OK, people are going to ask me about this. What am I trying to say?” I’m not trying to say anything. I’m not running for politics or anything like that.

If you’re following Morgan Freeman, the next step is deities. Are you ready for that?

I don’t know.

As far as how this film relates to more of your past work, I was wondering if you were attracted to “A House of Dynamite” as a story giving audiences a peek behind a power structure, similar to how “The Wire” informed audiences about the goings-on of different institutions. Are you particularly intrigued by scripts about how these systems and processes work?

There’s always a curiosity when I’m playing characters, especially characters that have a complexity to them. Maybe a natural contradiction in what they are and what they need to do, and who they are and what they need to say, and who I am and what I look like playing this character. The complexities are really interesting to me. John Luther is a detective who is pretty much a crook at the same time.

I guess I’m attracted to that type of character, but at the same time, I don’t really feel there’s a sort of real formula to the way I go for characters. And probably I should have a formula, but I don’t. I actually go for, “Have I done it before? Could I do a good job? What would I learn from this? Is there a skill set that I get out of it?” I’ve learned to do all kinds of crazy things, from sword-fighting to driving cars really fast by way of these different characters.

Was there at all a message in this project that you were attracted to? In terms of wanting people to see this film because of what it means?

Not in the beginning, if I’m really honest. I was just like, “I’d like to work with Kathryn Bigelow.” A bucket list opportunity. When I got to understand what the film was about and who my character is, I definitely latched onto the idea that [when] we elect a leader, I wonder, do we think long and hard enough about what and who we’re electing, and what will happen if we put our lives in that person’s hands?

I suppose playing the character as a human being as opposed to a POTUS, big, strong guy, [who’s] got to make all the decisions… Just someone that actually is a human being, wants to talk to his wife, doesn’t have the answers, isn’t afraid to ask, his shoe’s a little tight, his coffee’s a little cold. Playing that human side hopefully reminds the audience that, actually, when we do decide who’s our leader, just remember they’re human. And this is what it looks like when they have to make a very complex decision on all of our behalfs. This is what it looks like.

Would you say there’s any sort of partisanship applied to your character?

We definitely ignored that. We tried to show none whatsoever. And I don’t know, as an audience member, what did you think? Did you think that he was there on one side or the other?

I found it pretty objective. There’s things you can read into, but it does not fully imply he’s this war hawk. You talked about the goal of him being human, the work reflects that. But shifting gears, do you know if you were one of the first actors cast in this film?

I’m not sure, actually. I don’t know. I remember Kathryn talking about wanting to know who her president would be, and that might help her put together some of the other pieces. But I wasn’t clear if I was the first person. I know that she said to me quite frankly that she didn’t want to speak to any other actors about it, just wanted me, and to that I was like, “Wow, no pressure. You sure you don’t want to speak to Morgan Freeman?”

Did you have any say in your cabinet? Because if you’re someone coming in early, are you able to then say, “Well, I think this person would be good for this role.” Or anything along those lines?

No. Again, I didn’t have any exposure to who was going to be in the movie, and by the time I got to shoot that segment of the film, they had already shot everything else. But needless to say, it’s Kathryn and her taste for amazing actors to pick the characters that she creates is good. She has high standards.

Outside of Jonah Hauer-King and Brian Tee, who were around you physically? Did you actually get to work with this whole cast? Or were you acting opposite someone reading lines as, say, Tracy Letts?

No, I was pretty isolated, apart from the characters that were in my story. And I got to listen to playback for the questions and, honestly, I was lucky that I got Tracy Letts’s performance as my driving material. And they had my performance, even though I hadn’t performed it. They had me [do] a telephone run of my lines before I even shot it, which was a bit like, “Oh, I don’t even know what I’m going to do.” But I just trusted the script, and they used that in their side of the coverage.

In terms of your character’s First Lady, who is away in Kenya, had you ever met Renée Elise Goldsberry? Because that’s such an emotional moment in the film, but it sounds like that might’ve also been playback.

Yeah, actually, that was the one casting opportunity that Kathryn sort of asked [for] my opinion, and we were really lucky to get Renée, she was amazing. And I did. She came to set, but she shot all of her stuff in Kenya, but we were lucky to speak to each other and just look each other in the eye and have a quick connection, I guess.

What level of improvisation was part of this film? Hearing you talk about the basketball game, that wasn’t all lined up in the script? You guys were building that as you went along?

Yeah, it very much felt like a documentary. I think Kathryn wanted that. She didn’t want to know what I was going to say or what I was going to do, and of course, the lines that were written, I say those lines, but if I decided to take off my shoe and say, “Hey, what’s going on with the shoe?” That was completely improvised. She encouraged that. When I meet the girls on the basketball court and I’m telling them a story, I just made one up, and then I had to remember what I made up because we did it a couple of times, and I actually really felt quite liberated by that because it just meant that I was really in the character, in the moment. There’s cameras everywhere, and you don’t know where they all are, so there’s no point acting, just being is what it is and being reactive.

And there were scenes, there were some lines where Jonah and I were in the middle [of talking], and one of them made it into the scene; where he’s talking and I stop him and I say, “How old are you, son?” And Jonah was so great, he  just made it up. I said, “You married?” And he goes, “Yes, sir.” And just that break in the lines brought a certain realism, and Barry [Ackroyd] was on camera, and he’s trying to find this. “Hell, this isn’t written down, what is this?” And it really just helped the realism aspect of it.

Speaking of how real things got, did you actually have a close look at what you say is a diner menu of nuclear options that this president has to review? Would an actual POTUS see that to a T?

We wouldn’t know if it was to the T, but [we] very much designed on what we understood to be fact, the choices the POTUS has in that box all the time. And it is a menu of counterstrikes, thinking in an emergency. And yeah, even though it wasn’t to the T as we might understand it, it was very much close, and it was shocking. And many choices of what to do [were] mind-blowing for me. When we shot it, he opened it up, and here’s this long incredible speech about it, and I’m like, “What?!”

So you’re taking a look at it for the first time in the scene, not quite beforehand?

No, it was all real.

An authentic surprise. Now that you’ve seen the whole film, what is it like watching it and dealing with its entertainment factor versus its realism?

I watched the film as an audience member because I didn’t know much about the first two acts. I had read them obviously, but I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know who was cast. I didn’t know what the atmosphere would look like and feel like. So when I watched the movie, I was like anyone who watched it for the first time, and even my segment was like, “Oh my. . . It blew my mind.” I sat there [for] probably about three or four, five minutes just in silence afterwards. “What did I just watch? Was that a movie or was that a documentary?”

Some of the experience is a bit of frustration with your character until we actually see what’s going on with him. Did you know that when you were playing him, or did you not pick up on that until you were actually watching the film?

I didn’t know that, actually. From my character’s perspective, “You’re telling me I need to get on the phone, the phone is not working. Who am I talking to? Who is this guy? Wait, you’re waiting for me? I’m busy, I’m doing something. I was in the middle of something. What’s happening here?” Playing catch-up. And then when I watched the movie, I was like, “The president needs to get on the phone. What is he doing?!”

And then you watch the movie, “Is it a basketball game? Wait, what?” I felt the frustration for the audience because it was like, “Isn’t he supposed to be on the phone right now? Why is his phone not working?” But there you go, again, that’s probably very close to how it would go down.

I believe you’ve directed or are going to direct a couple upcoming features, “Above the Below” and “Infernus,” since working on “A House of Dynamite.” Did you have any takeaways on that front from working with Kathryn Bigelow?

I’m directing my next film now. I’ve learned a lot working with Kathryn. She has this incredible, observant perspective on how she makes films. It makes me think about my story, my characters, my environments much deeper, and I’m really looking forward to getting behind the camera, having now worked with one of my directing heroes.

“A House of Dynamite,” a Netflix release, is now in select theaters on Friday, October 10. The film will begin streaming on Netflix on Friday, October 24.

In a surprising twist that has left fans buzzing with excitement, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, one of the most beloved pairs in the South Indian film industry, recently confirmed their secret engagement, although neither of them has officially commented on the event. The couple, who have been at the center of dating rumors for years, made waves after eagle-eyed fans spotted a sparkling engagement ring on Rashmika’s finger, sending social media into a frenzy.

The engagement was hinted at when Rashmika shared a video on her Instagram, which featured the song “Rahen Na Rahen Hum” from her film Thama playing in the background. The video shows Rashmika happily playing with her pet dog, Aura, but it wasn’t the dog or the song that caught the attention of her fans, it was the large diamond engagement ring on her finger. Fans quickly took to social media to point out the ring, confirming that the engagement had indeed taken place.

One fan commented, “This entire video is to show us the engagement ring,” while others echoed similar thoughts, with remarks like “Finally, we see the ring!” and “You posted this video to show off your engagement ring, not to promote the song.” While the video appeared innocent and sweet, it seems the real star was the ring, which many believe was a subtle confirmation of the news.

Vijay Deverakonda was also recently spotted flaunting a ring during an appearance at the Mahasamadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Holding a bouquet of flowers, his ring was clearly visible on his finger, which further fueled rumors that the couple had indeed gotten engaged. Despite the lack of an official announcement from either Rashmika or Vijay, sources close to the couple have confirmed the engagement to media outlets. The intimate ceremony reportedly took place at Vijay’s Hyderabad residence, with only close family members in attendance.

Exclusive: Bhuvan Arora on Playing an Intense Cop in Janaawar: “Hemant Carries a Constant Tension”

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Bhuvan Arora recently spoke to Filmfare about understanding emotional and social complexities of a man in uniform while playing the role of SI Hemant Kumar in Janaawar – The Beast Within. He reflected on Hemant’s character, who remains torn between duty, caste-based societal expectations and deeply personal desires. The actor has opened up about the emotional toll of playing such a conflicted man and the lasting impression it left on him.

He said, “There was one night sequence where Hemant is torn between his responsibility as a cop and the weight of what society and his family expect from him. After we wrapped, I remember walking back to my room and still feeling this heaviness on my shoulders. It wasn’t easy to shake off.”

Hemant’s character is not one-dimensional. He’s not just a cop and he’s not just a man shaped by caste and class constraints. He is both and he is always in motion between those poles. “For me, it was about holding tension rather than resolving it. Hemant can never fully escape either side. His duty as a cop or his reality as a man trapped in social structures. So I played him like someone who is constantly negotiating, constantly calculating. Sometimes his uniform speaks louder, sometimes his silences do,” he explained.

But beneath the uniform and the social burden lies a man who longs for a daughter. Speaking about the softer and emotionally charged moments, Bhuvan said, “Yes, very much. Those were the rare times when Hemant allowed his armour to slip. As an actor, it made me reflect on how men often struggle to express tenderness, especially in certain environments. Playing those moments, I thought a lot about vulnerability in fatherhood and how powerful it is when shown.”

Janaawar – The Beast Within released on Zee 5 on September 26, 2025.
