Pretty in pink

With the trend of choosing pastel lehengas for the wedding season, the brides-to-be can opt for pink eye makeup. To get glamorous results, blend the primer, concealer, and foundation to set the base. Next, set your brows with a brow pencil, giving them the perfect shape and edge. In the third step, apply eyeshadow in the pink shade with a hint of matte liquid lipstick. Add the glitter powder, and stroke the lids with eyeliner. Finish the look by applying mascara to the lashes.

Smoky-eyes

Opting for smoky eyes to go with your bridal look can be risky. However, it would look gorgeous if gotten right. To achieve the look, apply a base of primer, concealer, and foundation. Next up, use ash black eye shadow from the palette and apply it over the lids as well as the brow bones, and smudge it with the brush. To get a darker effect, use kohl pencils and draw thick lines over the eyelids and the inner corners of the eye. Add mascara to the lashes, and you are good to go.

Purple and soft

Using purple tones can help achieve a more modern makeup look. To get into it, apply a soft base of primer, concealer, and foundation. Use the highlighter next, and dab it in the inner corners of the eyes. Apply a lighter, or an iris, shade of purple eyeshadow over the base, and contrast it with black eyeliner over the lashes. Give the latter a perfect shape with mascara, and pair the look with blushed cheeks and dark pink lipstick.

Golden-glittery eyes

The golden eye makeup can perfectly fit in with all kinds of wedding looks. To achieve so, prepare your skin with a base of primer, concealer, and foundation. Next up, apply golden glittered eyeshadow from the palette to the lids. If the glamor isn’t enough from the first base, either add on a second base or dab glitter powder. Apply thick, black eyeliner, and do not miss out on the mascara.

Drew Daniel is getting ready to release his first Soft Pink Truth album since 2022. The new album, Can Such Delightful Times Go On Forever?, is out January 30 via Thrill Jockey. The record’s lead single, “Time Inside the Violet,” comes with a music video made by animator Matthew Murray Sullivan in collaboration with visual artist Vicki Bennett. Watch the visual below.

Daniel worked on Can Such Delightful Times Go On Forever?—the follow-up to Is It Going to Get Any Deeper Than This?—with his husband and Matmos bandmate M.C. Schmidt, guitarist Bill Orcutt, and many others. On the new album, according to a press release, “Daniel probes the limitations of pleasure in the midst of our dystopian contemporary landscape.”

Boris’ ‘Pink’ Still Simmers and Boils 20 Years Later

Though Boris has been steadily releasing albums since 1996, there will always be a before and after Pink for the band. Formed in Tokyo in 1992, Boris has released 29 studio albums, 14 EPs, and seven live albums since its inception. However, Pink remains their zenith, a sprawling 47-minute masterwork that marries sludge metal with aspects of both shoegaze and ambient. 

Released by Relapse Records on October 17 for its 20th anniversary, along with a deluxe edition of 1995 record dronevil, this reissue of Pink not only allows fans to procure a vinyl copy at an affordable price, but also presents the original CD track order for the first time on LP. 

Like contemporaries such as Sleep and Baroness, Boris expanded what could be included in a heavy metal template, allowing for crossover success. Pitchfork awarded the record “Best New Music” upon its release and ranked Pink its ninth best album of 2006. Meanwhile, this very publication called it “crazy [and] gorgeous.” 

Two decades later, those two words are an apt description for a record that defies definitions. By turns both hypnotically atmospheric and face-shreddingly aggressive, Pink succeeds in that it can appeal to fans of multiple genres. For those who love My Bloody Valentine, the album is fuzzy and pensive with its vocals floating just beneath a layer of gauzy feedback. But for those who love psychedelic freakouts a la Acid Mothers Temple, there are moments where Boris tears away the veil and lets things rip.

Even after 20 years of listening, Pink remains dizzying and elusive. As the tracks weave from knee-deep sludge (“Blackout”) to rip-snorting to psychedelia (“Electric”) to gentle ambient (“My Machine”), they still feel of a piece, which is nothing short of an alchemic miracle. Somehow the trio of Wata, Takeshi, and Atsuo found a way to make it all work. They also save the best for last. Final track, “Just Abandoned Myself” is a 10-minute culmination of everything to come before it. This absolute face-punch features fiery guitars exploding with chunky riffs and anthemic vocals that could be at home on a Wipers record. It’s one of the many spots on the record that perfectly fuses the power of metal with the avant sensibilities that push Pink beyond being a sludge album. Take a listen. Twenty years have done nothing to reduce the record’s ferocious impact.

The BFI London Film Festival has been humming along for the past week. There have been some good premieres, but weirdly, most of the premiere fashion has kind of sucked. This is my justification for not covering most of the premieres, my bad. But these days, you can always count on Amal Clooney to bring some showgirl glamour. Amal’s showgirl aesthetic predates Taylor Swift’s by a good eight years, in fact. In any case, here are some photos from the big Jay Kelly premiere at the BFI LFF. I’m also including photos of Noah Baumbach (the writer-director) and Greta Gerwig, who wore an incredibly unfortunate suit. Sidenote: it’s very funny to see this film making the rounds at film festivals, because it looks like the dreck that came out of a dying studio with six screenwriters. They’re seriously pushing George for Best Actor, I guess. I predict a Golden Globe nomination and nothing else.

As for Amal’s showgirl look, this is Tamara Ralph Couture. Amal surprisingly loves pinks, and while this paler pink doesn’t look bad on her, she definitely looks better in a more saturated color. I’m not crazy about the tiered skirt, but that’s not specific to this look (I just don’t like tiered skirts). I also feel sorry for tall women – they should be able to wear feathers without anyone making a Big Bird comment. But yeah, the feathers are very Big Bird. Also: Amal recently took eight inches off her hair (according to Vogue). It looks SO MUCH healthier.

Meanwhile, George recently confirmed that everyone is on board for Ocean’s 14, the fourth film in a franchise which most people forgot about. Back in the day, I liked Ocean’s 11. I remember thinking Ocean’s 12 had a terrible script, and I remember very little of Ocean’s 13. Well, George claims that Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle are all on board for the fourth film, and that they have a “great” script. He also said: “We just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we’re trying to set up. It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about nine or 10 months, shooting.” Oh, good. Brad Pitt the (credibly accused) domestic abuser, back together with George Clooney the ratf–ker.

PS… Someone pointed out that George has been wearing lifts these days and now I can’t unsee it.

Cam’ron Says His Male-Enhancement Supplement ‘Pink Horse Power’ Earned Him Nearly $10 Million in Four Years

Rapper and entrepreneur Cam’ron says his Pink Horse Power male-enhancement supplement has been a lucrative business — and his viral TV moments helped make it a hit.

In a new interview with The Breakfast Club, Cam’ron brought along samples of the product, explaining that it’s made with natural African ingredients sourced directly from Senegal. He said he ensures the potency of the ingredients by keeping someone on-site to monitor production.

“When it’s on the boat, they water it down,” Cam said. “I keep a n—a on a boat for two months to watch our stocks so that we make sure we have the highest potency of it.”

Cam described the supplement as “potent and effective,” saying it works fast — within 10 minutes when, as he put it, “it’s time to go in.” He added,

“We’ve been doing this for four years [and] probably made close to $10 million on it.”

According to the Harlem native, the company was born during the pandemic because, in his words,

“Nobody was doing s—t but f—king at home.”

He credited several of his media appearances for boosting sales, including his spots on Drink Champs and Gillie Da Kid’s podcast. But he says the biggest push came from his viral CNN interview in 2024, when anchor Abby Phillip pressed him about footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie.

Cam’ron said he reluctantly answered a few questions before turning the moment into an impromptu marketing move:

“I said I’ll do one or two Puff questions, but you kept forcing the issue. Alright, bet. Let’s do it — Pink Horse commercial, the whole s—t.”

During the now-infamous clip, Cam took a shot of his Pink Horse Power drink live on-air and joked that he was going to “get some cheeks” after the interview — a moment that quickly went viral and, according to him, supercharged sales.

Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Twinkle Khanna wow in sarees

Pictures and videos of Kajol, Rani and Twinkle were shared by paparazzi pages on Instagram. While Kajol and Twinkle chose tissue silk sarees for the celebrations, Rani complemented them in a silk saree in a vibrant red shade, the colour of Maa Durga. Let’s decode their traditional looks:

Rani’s red silk saree features intricate gold accents, including a detailed gold brocade embroidery on the pallu, gold scalloped lace borders, and gold sequin embroidery done in vertical lines. She wore the six yards in traditional style, letting the pallu fall from her shoulder in a floor-sweeping length.

A matching red blouse featuring a plunging V-neckline, quarter-length sleeves, gold embroidery on sleeves, and a cropped hem rounded off the ensemble. For accessories, she wore gold jhumkis, a choiker necklace, bangles, and rings. A sleek top knot, a red bindi, winged eyeliner, rouge-tinted cheeks, and a dewy base rounded off the glam.

Meanwhile, Kajol wore a mauve pink tissue silk saree with gold embroidery and patchwork. She paired the saree with a matching sleeveless silk blouse, oxidised silver earrings, red bangles, gold kadhas, a bindu, winged eyeliner, beaming highlighter, rouge on the cheeks, and a side-parted top knot.

Lastly, Twinkle chose a vibrant light green saree decorated with gold brocade and lace work, and dark green borders. She completed the traditional attire with a dark green-coloured blouse featuring gold vertical lines, a raised collar, and a V neckline.

For accessories, Twinkle chose gold jhumkis adorned with precious stones. She tied her tresses in a pulled-back, sleep top knot. As for the glam, she chose a red bindi, feathered brows, a dewy base, blushed cheeks, glossy pink lips, and kohl-lined eyes.

Hugh Jackman turned his latest New York City concert into something unforgettable. According to People, the 56-year-old actor brought out Pink and her 14-year-old daughter, Willow Sage Hart, to join him on stage at Radio City Music Hall on Saturday, September 20. The three performed together in front of a packed crowd as part of Jackman’s From New York, With Love series.

The first surprise came with A Million Dreams, a ballad from The Greatest Showman. The Wolverine actor sang it in the film, but this time, Willow took center stage with her own take on the song. Dressed in a flowing red gown, the teenager’s voice cut through the hall, earning cheers from fans who were not expecting her to share the spotlight.

Then the trio moved into Pink’s 2006 hit Who Knew. Jackman sang backup while mother and daughter traded verses. By the chorus, Willow’s confidence grew, and the crowd responded with loud applause.
