“Taking a break because we’re TIRED, PERIOD”

by jummy84 November 6, 2025

Disturbed frontman David Draiman has shed light on the band’s decision to take a hiatus, dismissing any rumours it is to do with controversy surrounding them.

Last week, the metal frontman took to social media to announce that the band would be going on a break after concluding their 25th anniversary ‘The Sickness’ tour.

Draiman wrote: “Not sure when we will be headed back out. We all need a nice long break. Hope to see you when we do.”

The update came amid controversy surrounding him and his pro-Israel stance – which led to the band reportedly having a show in Belgium cancelled, clashing with protesters in Glasgow, butting heads with Kneecap, and disagreeing with Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello.

Given the headlines surrounding the band, some assumed that the hiatus may be related to the singer’s political stance – however, Draiman has now dismissed the rumours and said that it is simply because the members are “tired”.

Taking to X/Twitter, he wrote: “For the Record: 1. Taking a break because we’re TIRED, PERIOD. 2. Any spin by the media is just that…spin. We’re all doing great, and are on great terms. 3. The European tour was the biggest of our career. We played to packed arenas every night. Let’s do it again sometime.”

For the record;

1. Taking a break because we’re TIRED, PERIOD.
2. Any spin by the media is just that…spin. We’re all doing great, and are on great terms.
3. The European tour was the biggest of our career 🙏🏻🤘🏻. We played to packed arenas every night. Let’s do it again…

— David Draiman 🟦🎗️🇺🇸🇮🇱✡️☮️ (@davidmdraiman) November 5, 2025

Draiman has been vocal in his support for Israel for years now. Back in 2019, he hit out at Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters and slammed the musician and his “Nazi comrades” for calling others to boycott Israel. In 2022 doubled-down on his stance and said that he “doesn’t give a shit” if he alienated people with his pro-Israel views.

In 2023, he sang the Israeli national anthem at one of Disturbed’s Tel Aviv concerts, and the following year he called Waters a “monster” and “anti-Semitic to his rotten core“.

Also in 2024, the singer divided fans when he was pictured signing artillery shells belonging to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) with messages including “Fuck Hamas”.

Those actions saw Draiman receive criticism from Irish hip-hop trio, Kneecap, who made an X post calling him a “straight up c**t”.

“We don’t care what religion anyone is… or if they’ve one at all. We love all sound c**ts. Smiling and signing bombs to murder kids and other people’s families just makes you a straight up c**t. Simple as. Free Palestine,” they wrote.

We don’t care what religion anyone is…or if they’ve one at all.

We love all sound cunts.

Smiling and signing bombs dropped to murder kids and other people’s families just makes you a straight up cunt.

Simple as.

— KNEECAP (@KNEECAPCEOL) July 13, 2025

Draiman swiftly responded to Kneecap, telling them to enjoy their “five minutes” in the spotlight and accused them of spreading “hatred”.

The ‘Down With The Sickness’ singer also hit out at Tom Morello for his support of Kneecap, calling his actions “shameful”. The Rage Against The Machine guitarist had described Kneecap as “clearly the Rage Against The Machine of now”, and praised them for “speaking truth to power” in their outspoken support for the people of Palestine and criticism of the Israeli government.

Controversy around Draiman was evident in some of Disturbed’s live shows too. His support for Israel reportedly caused the band’s concert in Belgium in mid-October to be cancelled due to safety risks, and at the end of the month the singer clashed with some people in Glasgow after a protest was held outside their gig there.

A group of people appeared outside the OVO Hydro to protest against Draiman, and even held a free punk show outside the doors (as per Glasgow Times). Before then, pro-Palestine groups called for the Disturbed show to be axed due to the frontman’s actions and comments.

In response to one person who tagged him in a post on Twitter, saying: “Here’s what the real Glasgow thinks of your psychotic genocidal Zionism”, Draiman responded and hit back.

“The ‘real Glasgow’ showed up to the tune of 12,000 strong at OVO,” he wrote. “Hope your Jew hatred kept you guys warm lol. Still praying for peace each and every day. What are you praying for?”

Earlier in the summer, Draiman faced backlash elsewhere in the UK. As he took to the stage to perform at Ozzy Osbourne’s and Black Sabbath’s final live outing, there were a noticeable number of boos heard from the audience.

“Yes, there were a few boos when I walked out, but I came to pay homage to my teachers, my idols, the mighty Black Sabbath, and I wasn’t about to let a few Jew hating morons deter that,” the singer said after the gig.

“I am STILL UNAPOLOGETICALLY A FIERCELY PRO ISRAEL JEW. I will ALWAYS stand up for my people, and I won’t be deterred, intimidated, or shamed out of rocking the asses of the masses. Put that in your pipes and smoke it,” he added.

Taking a Break Because We’re TIRED, PERIOD.

David Draiman is shooting down any notions that his recently announced “nice long break” for Disturbed has anything to do with any controversy surrounding the band. Instead, he insists that the band members are simply “tired.”

Last week, Draiman revealed that Disturbed would be taking an extended break following an extensive tour in support of the 25th anniversary of their multiplatinum debut album, The Sickness.

After the tour’s final show in Glasgow, Scotland, he tweeted, “Headed home!!! Thanks so much to EVERYONE that made #TheSickness25 a tour to truly remember! Crew, Management, Agent, Promoters, and ESPECIALLY my brothers in @Disturbed. Not sure when we will be headed back out. We all need a nice long break. Hope to see you when we do.”

Draiman and the band made headlines throughout the year due to the singer’s pro-Israel stance, leading one local mayor to cancel the band’s show in Brussels over safety concerns. However, the frontman says the media is reading too much into the rock act’s “nice long break,” and that there’s no tension within the band.

On Wednesday, he tweeted, “For the Record: 1. Taking a break because we’re TIRED, PERIOD. 2. Any spin by the media is just that…spin. We’re all doing great, and are on great terms. 3. The European tour was the biggest of our career. We played to packed arenas every night. Let’s do it again sometime.”

As it was, 2025 turned out to be a whirlwind year for Draiman and Disturbed. In March, the band’s pyro display at the United Center damaged the Chicago Bulls’ championship banners, and in May, Draiman proposed to his girlfriend Sarah Uli onstage in Sacramento. Moreover, the singer engaged in a war of words with pro-Palestinian UK hip-hop act Kneecap.

See David Draiman’s clarification in the tweet below.

2. Any spin by the media is just that…spin. We’re all doing great, and are on great terms.

I can’t be the only one who hates wearing a pad during my period.

I typically opt for tampons, but as we were all taught, it’s a big no-no to wear them for more than a few hours at a time, which means when it’s time to sleep, the only option is a pad.

Or is it? Enter Knix’s period underwear.

I’ll admit I was skeptical at first. Can an underwear really possess the same absorbency as a pad? And will it feel weird wearing one to bed? After testing a period underwear out for myself, I can tell you it’s a total game changer.

In a way, these underwear work exactly like a pad would. They’re designed with a triple-layer built-in liner that effectively absorbs and prevents leakage. The difference? They’re way more comfortable and you get to enjoy a peaceful slumber. You can even throw them in washer just like your other panties.

If you’ve been curious about period underwear or just hate wearing pads as much as I do, now’s the perfect time to try some out because Knix has an amazing sale going on.

You can score up to 50% off Knix’s bestselling leak-proof products, including a handy three-pack that’s already in my cart. And don’t forget to check out their bras and activewear, which have the Nicole Scherzinger seal of approval. Plus, you’ll get an extra 10% off when you spend $150.

With tons of styles, colors, and absorbency levels to choose from, you can find the perfect period underwear for you.

The future is here! Shop unbeatable deals on the life-changing period underwear that I swear by.

Gynaecologist explains what your period reveals about fertility and reproductive health: ‘Irregular cycles can be…’

Your period can reveal more than you think. A gynaecologist explains how cycle patterns, flow changes, and pain may signal key aspects of fertility and health.

Your menstrual cycle is more than just a monthly occurrence, it can offer valuable insights into your overall fertility and health. In an interview with HT Lifestyle Dr. Irfana Shahul Hameed, obstetrician and gynaecologist at Plush, shares how paying attention to key aspects of your period can help you understand your reproductive health better. (Also read: Gynaecologist explains how maternal cardiac health is crucial during pregnancy; shares 4 tips to maintain heart health )

Understanding menstrual flow and cycle regularity is key to fertility health. (Adobe Stock)

1. Irregular cycles

One of the most important indicators is cycle regularity. Irregular cycles often suggest an absence of ovulation, although they don’t always mean ovulation is completely absent. Ovulation is the process by which an egg is released, ready to unite with sperm to form an embryo. Without ovulation, conception is not possible. Moreover, irregular cycles make it difficult to track ovulation, complicating efforts to conceive. While some women with irregular periods may still ovulate occasionally, consistent irregularity can be a red flag requiring medical attention.

2. Flow changes

The quantity of menstrual flow is another important aspect. Some women experience reduced flow, which doesn’t necessarily indicate a problem unless they are trying to conceive. Dr Irfana explains that lighter periods may be linked to hormonal disorders such as hyperthyroidism or prolactin imbalance. It can also signal the onset of perimenopause, a transitional phase where menstrual flow may decrease or, in some cases, increase unpredictably.

3. Excessive pain (Dysmenorrhea)

Severe period pain or excessive menstrual cramps could point toward endometriosis, a condition that is becoming increasingly common. Endometriosis is characterised by the presence of cysts in the ovaries, which can cause significant pain and inflammation. These cysts, known as endometriotic cysts, may interfere with fertility by causing inflammation in the fallopian tubes and affecting the environment where egg and sperm meet.

Understanding these signs, irregular cycles, flow changes, and excessive pain can provide important clues about your fertility health. Early consultation with a gynaecologist can help identify underlying conditions and guide you toward an effective treatment option.

Can young girls get PCOS before first period? Gynaecologist shares 4 early signs parents should watch for

by jummy84 September 17, 2025

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which is a hormonal disorder, shows up in women of menstruating age. But can the signs occur even before a girl gets her first period? To confirm this, HT Lifestyle reached out to an expert.

Some risk factors make little girls more vulnerable to PCOS, even before their periods. (PC: Freepik)

Consultant gynaecologist Dr Deepali Lodh, obstetrician and infertility expert at AIMS Hospital in Dombivli, shared that indeed, there’s a possibility of some early warning signs of PCOS that can appear even before their first period.

She said, “Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal condition that usually becomes more obvious after a girl starts menstruating. However, according to various studies as well, early signs may appear before the first period, often in late childhood or early puberty.”

Early signs of PCOS

PCOS is one of the most common hormonal disorders among young girls, but it can be managed with the help of a good lifestyle, like a proper diet and regular exercise, along with medical intervention. And the first step towards management begins by detecting the signs, and sometimes even before periods begin to occur, which indicates they are at high risk.

Dr Lodh shared these four signs parents need to watch out for in their daughters who are yet to begin their periods:

  1. Early puberty changes: Some girls will exhibit signs of puberty earlier than expected, such as breast development or pubic hair growth. These signs shouldn’t be ignored at all.
  2. Weight gain and obesity: Rapid weight gain, especially around the abdomen, can be a risk factor for future PCOS in girls. Don’t just attribute this weight gain to poor eating habits and the absence of exercise. It will need timely evaluation.
  3. Skin issues: Suffering from acne, oily skin, or dark patches on the neck and underarms (acanthosis nigricans) are some of the signs that a girl may have insulin resistance. This can further point out PCOS. So, stay vigilant!
  4. Excess hair growth: Unusual hair growth on the face, chest, or back (hirsutism) before menstruation can be caused by a hormonal imbalance that can be linked to PCOS.

Further, she mentioned the importance of parental intervention, as these are signs that, according to the gynaecologist, ‘cannot be ignored’, and prompt medical attention needs to be sought.

Genetic risk factor?

In addition to the visible signs, the young girl in childhood or early puberty, there’s also a genetic component to consider. Dr Lodh said, “A mother or sister with PCOS increases the chances of the child developing it later.” So if the mother or elder menstruating sibling has PCOS, they need to be more cautious, as the child is genetically predisposed to develop PCOS. This means regular monitoring of their hormonal health to reduce future risks.

To avoid these problems from escalating, Dr. Lodh recommended that young girls showing early PCOS signs focus on a healthy lifestyle, follow a nutritious diet, exercise regularly, maintain weight within a normal range, and manage stress with the help of yoga. If parents spot these signs, the gynaecologist reiterated that they should visit a doctor for tests, as, according to her, it is better to pay attention right from the beginning to prevent problems in the future.

The 6 Biggest Boot Trends of Fall 2025, Period

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

To get you prepared for the best of next season’s fashion, we’ve been giving you the download on everything from the hottest designer buys to know to the prettiest shoes to feast your eyes on and everything in between. Fall 2025 has so much in store for us, so I can say with certainty that the season is worth the wait, at least when it comes to our wardrobes. One of the most exciting categories you’ll want to focus on? Shoes—specifically boots.

After combing through the runways, my social media feeds, and the market, I’ve landed on six fall boot trends that will have the biggest impact next season. With the flat sock boots inspired by the Fforme runway and the modern Western styles that are currently having a renaissance, consider this list your North Star for all things stylish and forward. Continue on to get your fill of the major fall 2025 boot trends and shop the pairs I love most.

If you take note of any boot trend this fall, let it be boots that come in exotic finishes like animal print, embossing, and undeniably luxe calf hair. The latter is taking off across the accessories spectrum, but a pair of boots feels especially versatile. Depending on how you style them, they can either lean Western inspired or feel completely glamorous. The key pair to know? April Hennig, president of Moda Operandi, insists it’s the towering, thigh-high zebra boots from the next iteration of Conner Ives’s collaboration with Jimmy Choo.

Ready or not, sock boots are officially back on the menu. With backing from in-the-know brands like Fforme and Proenza Schouler, a fresh rebrand is on its way for the boot trend. Instead of the stretchy stiletto boots of the past, the sock boots of fall 2025 are arriving with flat soles and in elevated leather and knit finishes. “I’m excited to see how people style their sock boots,” shares celebrity stylist Britt Theodora. “I’m personally obsessed with it and just got a white lace pair from Brave Pudding that I’ll be wearing for bridal festivities [and] with cool, cozy looks.”

Cowboy boots faithfully come in and out of style at regular intervals, so it comes as no surprise to see them return again this season. Sleek and sophisticated, the Western boots of the moment feel less traditional and more modern. Even stylist Coco Schiffer, known for her minimalist approach to dressing, is getting on board. The all-black Khaite Davis style is a favorite. “It feels timeless to me—a classic reimagined,” she adds.

Could it be true? Are block heels really set to be back in style again? After several years of being overtaken by skinny stilettos and petite kitten heels, block-heel boots are making a surprising reentrance. At Miu Miu, the boots were tall and fitted with rounded toes and thick, sensible heels. It was a similar story at Chloé and Toteme, where tall block-heel boots peeked out from underneath big wool and shearling coats.

With the rise of preppy fashion and a certain bourgeois sensibility, it makes sense that we’d be seeing more classic riding boots. On Altuzarra’s fall runway, trousers were tucked into the tall-shaft boots, and at Prada, they arrived with a loafer-inspired twist. Theodora’s favored way to wear them, though? “Styled with vintage Levi’s, a knit sweater, and a poncho will be a go-to look for fall,” she says.
