Shirley Ballas “emotional” as Strictly star dances a “perfect” rumba

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirely Ballas was left emotional following Alex Kington’s rumba during tonight’s episode (Saturday 18th October) of the show.

Alongside her professional partner Johannes Radebe, the Doctor Who star took to the dance floor to perform a moving rumba to Fast Car by Tracy Chapman.

The routine was showered with praise by the Strictly judges, with Ballas rising from her chair to hug Kingston.

She said: “I’m going to get emotional. In all my time on Strictly, I have never seen a pair of legs work like that. Every close in place. Every forward walk turning.”

She added: “Just an absolute perfect routine for me. The choreography was stunning. The way the temperature was between you was portrayed beautifully.”

Anton Du Beke also then rose to give Alex a handshake, before Craig said in his feedback: “I would have liked to see you exaggerate the top line ever so slightly. The legs, the balance, the tone. You are becoming quite a dancer. You really are.”

Motsi Mabuse was also full of praise, saying: “This was on a whole different level. And the breathing in the dancing. And just the partnership, the dancing… the both of you.”

Alex and Johannes went on to score 36 out of a possible 40, with Ballas awarding her first 10 of the series. (It’s never to early, after all!)

Speaking to host Claudia Winkleman ahead of her scores being revealed, Alex said of her routine: “The thing is, I have such an amazing connection with Johannes, and it’s all about connection, and it’s, sort of, not being embarrassed about being connected.”

Later in the broadcast, Shirley professed that she was having another “emotional moment”, as Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola closed the show with a joyous performance of Golden from K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Brandon Flowers was the perfect fit

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Chrissie Hynde has shared a track-by-track guide to her star-studded new covers album, ‘Duets Special’, where she talks about how Brandon Flowers was the “perfect fit” for the project and more. Check it out exclusively on NME below.

The new record from the Pretenders frontwoman is set to arrive tomorrow (Friday October 17) via Parlophone (pre-order/pre-save here). Comprising 13 tracks, the project boasts team-ups with the likes of The Killers‘ frontman, Blondie‘s Debbie Harry, Depeche Mode‘s Dave Gahan and Garbage‘s Shirley Manson.

‘Duets Special’ also features the late Mark Lanegan on a rendition of Elvis Presley‘s ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’, as well as collaborations with The Black Keys‘ Dan Auerbach, Cat Power, Alan Sparhawk and more.

She explained in the Q&A that she didn’t get the chance to meet Lanegan before his death in 2022, and talked about why she decided to cover a Morrissey classic with Power, as well as revealing her “highlight” of the LP and which collaborator she has an “odd thing in common” with. Read in full below.

Let’s talk about the collaborations on ‘Duets Special’. The album opens with ‘Me And Mrs Jones’ with k.d. lang. You first crossed paths with k.d. on the ‘Tame Yourself’ album for PETA, is that right?

“I met k.d. on a tour we did. Very early days. It was up in Canada and we bonded right from the start because of our mutual interest in animal welfare. PETA stuff followed.”

Your performance at the ‘Mark Lanegan 60’ concert last year was symbolic of how special a person and artist Mark was. What was it like singing Elvis‘ ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ with him?

“I never got to meet him. I read his book Sing Backwards And Weep, and only then got familiar with his music. Then I realised what I had been missing. A great, great singer and songwriter. We emailed, and I was so looking forward to meeting him. But fate had other ideas.”

Of all the Rolling Stones‘ songs you could have chosen, what led you and Lucinda Williams to sing ‘Sway’?

“I always dug the song, and so did Lu.”

Next up is ‘Dolphins’. You interviewed Tim Buckley when you were working for the NME. Was it important to include one of his songs on ‘Duets Special’?

“Well it’s a Fred Neil song, but Tim did the definitive version. He was one of my favourite all-time singers.”

Tell us about your friendship with Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power. You have toured together and spoken to Chan for Interview Magazine. What does ‘First Of The Gang To Die’ mean to you both?

“She’s a mate. We did a tour together, and I’m a huge fan. She has such a distinctive voice and style. We both loved the song. Morrissey being one of our best ever songwriters.”

‘Always On My Mind’ is another song most people associate with Elvis. What does Elvis’ music mean to you and Rufus?

“I’m pretty sure Elvis’ music means a lot to any artist. He was the King.”

How did you first come to connect with Carleen Anderson? There’s a great photograph of you, Carleen and Lalah Hathaway together at a Billie Holiday tribute in 2004. Together, you’ve chosen Brenda Holloway’s ‘Every Little Bit Hurts’…

“That’s when I met Carleen.  We discovered that day that we had a mutual friend, the guitar player Donnie Baker. A Cleveland guy. Then I became pals with Carleen who is the best soul singer alive.”

What drew you to 10cc‘s ‘I’m Not In Love’? Why was that song right for Brandon Flowers?

“I’m mates with Kevin Godley, a good friend. I think I must have seen Kevin recently around the time, and was thinking about him. Great song. Brandon was the perfect fit with his beautiful voice.”

You chose a John Lennon song from The Beatles‘ catalogue, ‘It’s Only Love’. What was it like to sing John’s lines with his son Julian?

“I’ve met Julian and seen him perform. He is so talented.  I didn’t know if he’d be up for singing one of his father’s songs. But he obviously was, and it was a highlight to sing along with him.”

Why did you choose a Low song, ‘Try To Sleep’, to sing with Debbie Harry? This is an exciting and unexpected surprise.

“I loved Low – one of my all-time favourite bands. I toured with Debbie in Australia and thought her voice would suit it. I love her low-key, dignified approach. A great surprise that I got to sing with her!”

Your performance with Alan Sparhawk on ‘County Line’ is beautiful…

“I love it too. It was Benji’s idea. I originally had in mind for Mimi Parker to sing it but then Mimi died. So I sheepishly approached Alan, and he agreed to do it. I love his voice.”

How did you and Alan meet?

“I saw Low play and hung around after, as I was dying to meet them. I struck up a conversation with Mimi and told her Deb and I were doing her song for a duets album, and she stopped me in my tracks when she said point-blank, ‘Why didn’t you ask me to sing one with you?’ My excuse was that I didn’t know her – which was the truth – but I did after that night and sent her the song.

Tell us about working with Shirley Manson on ‘Love Letters’. You’ve known each other for a long time…

“Shirley and I have an odd thing in common. She’s from South Queensferry, Scotland, where I’ve spent time. Not many people can say that who aren’t from there. I’ve been a fan since the first Garbage album.”

The Pretenders covered ‘Little Latin Lupe Lu’, and here you return to The Righteous Brothers with The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. What does their music mean to you?

“I didn’t even know they did ‘Little Latin Lupe Lu’. I only knew the Mitch Ryder version. But I sure remembered The Righteous Brothers singing ‘You’re My Soul’. I’ve worked with Dan, and he’s one of my guitar heroes. He’s such a great producer and songwriter, and I wondered if those talents overshadow what a great singer he is. So I wanted to get his voice to highlight the fact.”

The tracklist for Chrissie Hynde’s ‘Duets Special’ is:

‘Me & Mrs Jones’ (feat. k.d. lang)
‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ (feat. Mark Lanegan)
‘Sway’ (feat. Lucinda Williams)
‘Dolphins’ (feat. Dave Gahan)
‘First Of The Gang To Die’ (feat. Cat Power)
‘Always On My Mind’ (feat. Rufus Wainwright)
‘Every Little Bit Hurts’ (feat. Carleen Anderson)
‘I’m Not In Love’ (feat. Brandon Flowers)
‘It’s Only Love’ (feat. Julian Lennon)
‘Try To Sleep’ (feat. Debbie Harry)
‘County Line’ (feat. Alan Sparhawk)
‘Love Letters’ (feat. Shirley Manson)
‘(You’re My) Soul And Inspiration’ (feat. Dan Auerbach)

Speaking previously about the origins of ‘Duets Special’, Chrissie Hynde explained that she’d “never thought” about doing something like it before. “I think the idea came about in 2023,” she said.

“I was talking to Jörn, Rufus Wainwright’s husband, on the phone. I think we were recommending novels to each other, and for some reason, I said, ‘Hey, maybe Rufus and I should do something,’ and quickly scribbled out 10 songs off the top of my head.

“So Jörn asked Rufus, who was up for it, and that’s how it started. A spontaneous and what I thought would be a fun thing.”

‘Duets Special’ follows on from Hynde’s second full-length solo album ‘Valve Bone Woe’ (2019) – a jazz-inspired covers collection – and 2021’s ‘Standing In The Doorway: Chrissie Hynde Sings Bob Dylan’.

In 2015, Brandon Flowers was joined by Hynde at a London gig for a performance of ‘Don’t Get Me Wrong’. The following year, The Black Keys’ Auerbach appeared on stage with The Pretenders on The Late Show.

This summer, Hynde attended one of Oasis’ Live ’25 reunion shows at Wembley Stadium in London earlier this month, alongside the former Smiths guitarist and his daughter Sonny, as well as Pretenders guitarist James Walbourne.

Chrissie Hynde & Pals’ ‘Duets Special’ is out tomorrow (Friday October 17) via Parlophone (pre-order/pre-save here). She is performing in the BBC Radio 2 Piano Room tonight (October 16).

Bigg Boss 19 Weekend Ka Vaar review: Salman Khan’s sarcastic and fiery avatar as host is a perfect pre-Diwali blast

Salman Khan faced criticism for bias during Bigg Boss but made a strong comeback, engaging fans with sharp commentary on contestants.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan faced a lot of heat for his hosting in the last Weekend Ka Vaar, with many calling him biased towards Amaal Mallik. Some even suggested he should retire from hosting Bigg Boss. However, this Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman made a spectacular comeback, returning in his fun, bold, sarcastic, and fierce avatar, not just for the contestants, but also for his haters.

Salman Khan returns to his fiery and sassy avatar this Weekend Ka Vaar.

Audience Ka Vaar by Salman Khan

This episode felt more like Audience Ka Vaar than ever, as Salman voiced exactly what fans had been waiting to say. Bigg Boss enthusiasts were eagerly anticipating an exposé of Tanya Mittal’s game, and Salman delivered with precision. He subtly called out Tanya for her attention-seeking tactics, habit of crying to gain sympathy even when she was wrong, bragging about her luxuries, and always trying to be the centre of attention. He also exposed her threats to Bigg Boss about not speaking anymore and gave her a reality check on how she appeared to the outside world, moments that were deeply satisfying.

Another highlight of the episode was Salman pulling up Shehbaz Badesha for crossing boundaries with his jokes and being badtameez (ill-mannered). He warned Shehbaz against using phrases like “tu bahar mil (you meet me outside)” in the house, while continuing to have fun with other housemates, sarcastically pointing out mistakes and praising contestants who genuinely deserved it. For viewers, what had been a frustrating and headache-inducing Weekend Ka Vaar last time turned into a pre-Diwali treat this week.

Salman Khan gives it back to his haters

Salman’s fiery and sarcastic rants extended beyond the house. He gave a sharp reply to filmmaker AR Murugadoss, who had accused him of arriving late on Sikandar sets. Salman defended himself with wit, explaining how his rib injury affected his timing and pointed out inconsistencies with Murugadoss’ other actors. He also responded to Abhinav Kashyap’s criticism of him and his family, and sarcastically asked if he had got any work, referencing his earlier blunt remark from the previous Weekend Ka Vaar. These moments were nothing short of seeti-maar for viewers, delivering exactly what they loved about Salman’s hosting.

The episode was further elevated by comedians Jamie Lever and Ravi Gupta, who added humour through roasting the contestants and light-hearted comedy. Overall, it seems Salman is taking audience feedback seriously, and fans may finally witness the cheerful, fully invested, and fiery host we adored during Bigg Boss 13.

Shah Rukh Khan takes a jab at Karan Johar, asks ‘Are you running for ‘Ozempic’? Filmmaker has the perfect comeback

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

At a recent award night held in Ahmedabad, a light-hearted moment on stage stirred more than just laughter when Shah Rukh Khan made a cheeky remark at co-host Karan Johar. During the event, SRK made comments on Karan’s transformed physique, hinting at his significant weight loss, and jokingly mentioned the popular weight loss drug ‘Ozempic’, to which KJo had the perfect comeback.

Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar

The filmmaker took a sly shot in return, weaving in the name ‘Wankhede’, a clear reference to the controversy surrounding Sameer Wankhede, the former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official who has been in the media spotlight due to a recent lawsuit against SRK’s son Aryan Khan’s show The Ba***ds Of Bollywood.

SRK was seen asking Karan, “Bahaut alag lag rahe ho,” to which Karan responded with, “Zyada exercise karne laga hoon aajkal.” SRK then asked, “Oh, you’re working out, are you planning to go for Ozempic?” instantly correcting himself, “Ahh Olympics”, leaving Karan speechless.

Karan, known for his witty comebacks, said, “Haan, Wankhede mein hai Olympics. Aaoge?” In interviews following his weight loss, KJo has consistently pushed back against rumours that he used Ozempic or similar medications, attributing his transformation to health, medical adjustments, and lifestyle discipline. He has said, “That’s a lot of work, and it’s not medication like the rumor suggests” and emphasized his commitment to being “healthy, eating well, and exercising.”

The 70th Filmfare award moment showcased the two’s witty way of reacting to the news around them.

Kenzie’s performance included her song “Sophie,” telling the crowd, “I really struggled finding girls here growing up. My mental health was kind of all over the place and I finally found a girl that just gets me like noone else and is like my true sister.”

Right before Kenzie’s performance, Snow thanked attendees for joining, as well as the 1 Hotel for letting her play her personal “no skips” playlist. “This is our five-year anniversary of doing this and sharing the message of sharing your story and de-stigmatizing mental health and really just writing letters that are sharing our truth,” she told the crowd. “I really, really appreciate you guys coming out here.” Anytime.

A Perfect Portrait of Electronic Trailblazer Susumu Yokota » PopMatters

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Susumu Yokota can be an intimidating artist to approach, which is why Lo Recordings’ Skintone Edition Volume 1 is immediately essential. Collecting the first seven albums released under Yokota’s own Skintone label, the box set neatly presents the most personal and esoteric work of the pioneering electronic house and ambient musician, doing the digging for you.

Yokota started the label in 1998, releasing albums under his own name after years of creating techno and house music under the pseudonyms Ebi, Tenshin, 246, Anima Mundi, and Stevia, among others. As such, the Skintone albums were reflective of Yokota’s innermost yearnings, less for clubs than headphones. In fact, the first two releases were produced in limited editions of 500 CDs each. He wasn’t trying to find an audience; he was trying to find himself.

Skintone Edition Volume 1 is almost like the first half of an autobiography discovered posthumously (Yokota died in 2015 at the age of 54). It begins with 1998’s Magic Thread, which immediately immerses the listener in its vast dub soundscapes. Mixing a slower, deeper version of the four-on-the-floor beats of his house music with intricately designed ambient tracks, Yokota’s first Skintone release was an intimate harbinger of things to come.

As the title implies, Image 1983-1998, the second Skintone release, is itself a collection of recordings spanning the titular 15 years. Across 14 tracks, Susumu Yokota experiments with guitar, organ, bells, samples, tape loops, and other musical instruments, manipulating their deconstruction to create fleeting yet magical moments. Granted, these feel like demos, accomplished sketches from an artist’s notebook, rather than completed works, with studies of individual instruments and techniques. Continuing the painterly metaphor, it’s more of a cubist or pointillist album than the minimalist and expressionist styles for which Yokota is known.

While not quite the proverbial missing link, it’s still an interesting piece of the puzzle, showcasing the musician’s evolution from minimalist guitars toward synthesized ambient beauty. The album wears Yokota’s love for the short-lived post-punk band Young Marble Giants on its sleeve, no pun intended. In that sense, Image 1983 -1998 is both a testament to his inspirations and to the processes and styles that would influence him down the line.

The next album in the set, 1999’s Sakura, is widely regarded as Yokota’s most significant achievement and one of the best ambient albums of all time. This was the moment when the artist was able to bridge the gap between his intimate experiments and accessible appeal without any compromise, with the album getting picked up by the UK’s Leaf Label for European distribution.

Sakura certainly lives up to the hype, and if you’re not willing to fork over the cash for this bespoke and beautiful box set, Lo Recordings released the individual remastered album on 26 September 2025. (They also have a 14-track album, Skintone Collection, which is a great but brief introduction to the artist.) It’s an essential text in the canon of electronic music, where Yokota assembles the fragmented harmonies of his earlier work into moments of pure bliss. It’s especially great to hear, after Image 1983-1998, the experiments with acoustic instrumentation coming to full fruition alongside a newfound cinematic grandiosity and synthesized sparkle.

After creating a few somewhat traditional but excellent electronic albums released outside the Skintone label (such as 1999 and Zero), Susumu Yokota returned to his own label for another distinctive, personal album. 2001’s Grinning Cat is a bit of a curveball in his discography, but rightfully beloved by his fans for its playful, jazzy rhythms, with Yokota emphasizing the piano more than ever. The production is just as cavernous as the previous Skintone releases, but the varied styles and jubilant tinkering add new layers of personality to the music.

Will, released the same year as Grinning Cat, is similarly fun but even more buoyant, bouncing along to uniquely programmed beats. Throwing in more sonic variety and endless ideas, Will is filled with musical non sequiturs and sometimes ridiculous surprises; it’s house music by way of slapstick comedy. The shortest title in Skintone Edition Volume 1, this fifth Skintone release is a quick blast of fun that’s perhaps most reminiscent of the early Skintone parties Yokota used to throw, which his label was named after (similar, in a way, to the Telepathic Fish parties in the UK around the same time).

The sixth Skintone release, 2002’s The Boy and the Tree, marks a sharp departure from Yokota’s previous two albums, reflecting his restless and chimerical nature. The shape-shifting musician delved even deeper into the acoustic abyss, expanding the cinematic nature of Sakura while incorporating a swirling, psychedelic bent that’s alternately gripping and soothing.

The Boy and the Tree feels like taking some ancient drug and participating in a secret ceremony. Yokota combines traditional Noh performance elements, including vocal chanting (utai), syllabic rhythm (chūnori), and classical instrumentation (hayashi), with natural sounds and samurai battle cries to create his most ritualistic work.

Finally, Laputa closes out Skintone Edition Volume 1 with the most complicated album of the set. The seventh Skintone release builds on the bombastic ceremonial quirks of The Boy and the Tree, but expands upon them with not only an epic, macrocosmic scope but meticulous microscopic intricacies. Laputa completes Susumu Yokota’s evolution away from house music, extricating the music from beats entirely.

Laputa features some of the most detailed drone music in existence, with Yokota’s punctilious production endlessly elaborating on what tends to be a monolithic aural texture. Yokota treats vocals like another processed instrument he has perfected, layering them to complement incredible blasts of aggressive synths and his usual penchant for subtle acoustic melodies. It was the most avant-garde album of Yokota’s career at the time, and confounded his fans and even the critics. Hearing it in the context of Skintone Edition Volume 1, however, provides the kind of context that makes Laputa seem like an almost natural next step, as Yokota tread deeper into the possibilities of sound.

It may be hard for some people to imagine ambient music expressing the full range of human emotion, but that was Susumu Yokota’s mission. He sought the musical equivalent of ki-do-ai-raku, the Japanese phrase for four major human emotions (joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure or comfort). ‘I’m trying to achieve that beautiful thing. There is always fear, rage, and ugliness existing behind beauty,” he once explained. “I have been trying to express ki-do-ai-raku through music. I would like to express even one’s hidden emotion with reality. It’s my eternal goal.”

Yokota poured himself into the albums on Skintone Edition Volume 1, and his emotions pour out of them as a result. “Songwriting was like a diary for him,” DJ Miku, who released some of Yokota’s albums on his Newstage label, told Wax Poetics after the musician’s death. “It was important for him to create music from what he felt in the moment. That’s why I think Yokota’s work is very emotional. He was never one to sacrifice the soul of a track to make it sound better. In other words, there is no lie in his works.”

Bringing together these personal albums in one magisterial set, Skintone Edition Volume 1 is a beautiful, powerful study of Susumu Yokota in his own words. It’s perfect in nearly every way (something reflected in its cost) – the remastering, the art and packaging, the selections. While several of Yokota’s albums, released under different aliases, are absolutely phenomenal and more accessible (Acid Mt. Fuji, Zen, Zero), the Skintone albums are his most honest and distinctive achievements. They are an evocative expression of the artist as seeker, devoted to discovery and the expansion of possibilities.

Max Hospital cardiology director shares what perfect Indian plate really looks like: ‘Add 1 or 2 rotis and…’

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Indian meals are known for their variety, colours, and flavours, often served as a thali with multiple dishes on one plate. But not every thali is equally healthy, and balancing taste with nutrition can be tricky.

Dr Bhamri emphasises a balanced plate with 50% vegetables, 25% complex carbs, and 25% protein.(Freepik)

Dr Naveen Bhamri, Director & HOD (Interventional Cardiology), Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, with 26 years of experience, told The Lallantop what a truly “perfect Indian thali” looks like, showing how to enjoy traditional flavours while keeping your heart and overall health in check. (Also read: Cardiologist shares how he overcame years of knee pain with yoga, says he ‘can’t even remember which knee used to hurt’ )

What does a heart-healthy Indian thali really look like

According to Dr Bhamri, a healthy thali should be like an orchestra: every component plays its part, but in perfect balance. He explains, “Our plate should be like an orchestra, where all the instruments are playing but in perfect balance. In our thali, we have roti, rice, potatoes playing like drums, and the protein content is only like the flute playing softly on the side.”

He scientifically breaks down the ideal thali, “Fifty percent of our plate should always be vegetables and salads, green-colored or multi-colored. Colourful vegetables provide us with essential minerals, vitamins, and fibre.”

One-fourth of the plate should consist of complex carbohydrates. Dr Bhamri elaborates, “By complex carbohydrates, I mean roti, one or two rotis. These rotis should preferably be made from seasonal grains like jowar, bajra, or other millets. You can also include a small portion of rice, preferably brown rice. We tend to eat a lot of wheat flour rotis, which isn’t ideal for health, so try to mix it up, sometimes wheat, sometimes jowar, sometimes bajra, depending on the season and what suits your body.”

How much protein should your plate really have

Protein should make up another quarter of the plate. “Protein can come from dals, rajma, chana, paneer, or if you are non-vegetarian, from fish or chicken,” Dr Bhamri says. “So your plate should be divided roughly as 50% vegetables, 25% complex carbs, and 25% protein.”

He adds a word of caution about extras, “Things like pickles, papad, or chutney should only be like a guest appearance, they are not the hero of the meal.”

Jared Leto Believes Tron: Ares Is Releasing At The 'Perfect Time'

Jared Leto Believes Tron: Ares Is Releasing At The ‘Perfect Time’

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Disney’s upcoming sci-fi film Tron: Ares is set to release this week in theatres in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. With its central theme of Artificial Intelligence, the lead actor Jared Leto believes that the film is arriving at the ‘perfect time’.

Jared Leto: Tron: Ares Is Coming Out At A Perfect Time

During the London premiere of the film, Jared told Digital Spy, “In a way, it is coming out at a perfect time when AI is a huge conversation. We started working on the movie nine or 10 years ago, and nobody was talking about AI unless you were a researcher or an academic or something. Now everybody’s talking about everybody’s using it, whether they know it or not; it’s all part of our lives in some way. So I think it’s interesting that the film is coming out at that time.”

Jared, who has been involved with the project for nearly a decade, and his co-star Jodie Turner-Smith noted that the film’s exploration of AI ethics became even more timely during production. Jodie said, “We filmed this a year and a half ago, and they managed to make it so prescient in a way,” she explained.

Jodi: Jared’s Been Pushing This Boulder Up The Hill For Nearly A Decade

She continued, “We were in the conversation of AI that we hadn’t been when the film was at its origination – I mean, Jared’s been pushing this boulder up the hill for nearly a decade – but they managed to place this film somewhere that was in a conversation that stayed current and relevant, and that’s actually incredible.”

Jodie further added, “We don’t have any answers for AI in the state of the world, but we are living in the question, and we’re asking people to be in the question with us about ethics, about how we keep AI human-centered.” She said that “it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom’ if humans can use AI to “change the world for the better”. “What happens if this technology is in the hands of someone who doesn’t have any ethics, like Julian Dillinger, played by the wonderful Evan Peters. So it’s great, it’s relevant, it’s current, and it’s important.”

Starring Jared Leto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, and Jeff Bridges, TRON: Ares releases in Indian theatres on 10th October 2025 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Hrithik Roshan has penned a note on War 2 and returning to play Kabir after the film released during Independence Day and underperformed at the box office.

Expectations were sky high for Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2, which was released in theatres during the Independence Day window. The action thriller opened to mostly mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office. On Friday, more than a month since the film’s release, Hrithik has opened up about playing Kabir in the action thriller, hinting at the film’s box office performance. Hrithik pens a note on War 2

Sharing BTS stills of the film during the shoot, Hrithik penned a long note on the process of taking on the sequel and said in the caption, “Playing kabir was so much fun. So relaxed , knew him so well. It was going to be easy. Finally a movie I could do like so many others do, keep it simple , play the actor, do your job and come home. And it was exactly that. I was taken care of so well by my director Ayaan. It was such a pleasure to have his energy on set.”

He added, “Everything seemed so perfect. Like it’s meant to be. A sure shot. No worries , just needed to do my job right. Which Ofcourse I did. But something was lurking behind that presumptuous certainty. A voice that I kept shutting out..”This is too easy … I know this too well.” And another that said “I deserve it , every film doesn’t have to be a torture and trauma and an incessant search for the truth of the moment.””Just relax.””

About War 2

Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is the sixth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the film also stars Ashutosh Rana and Kiara Advani in key roles. The film opened to mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, with many criticising its dull writing and poor VFX.

Sources reported that War 2 has a landing cost of ₹400 crore for Yash Raj Studios. This includes the production budget and marketing costs. The film managed to collect slightly above ₹ 235 crore in India.
