Bigg Boss TVR report card: Just how many people are watching Hindi, Tamil, Telugu versions? Which has highest rating?

TVR measures the percentage of a target audience watching a program at a given time, indicating its popularity and advertising value.

Bigg Boss remains one of India’s most-watched television shows, topping TVR charts across major regional languages. The show is hosted by multiple superstars in multiple languages, that air on different channels.

Vijay Sethupathi, Salman Khan and Nagarjuna host different versions of Bigg Boss.

What are ratings for different versions?

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 leads with a 12.1 rating. It is hosted by superstar Mohanlal.

Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 follows with 7.4 on weekdays and 10.9 on weekends. It is hosted by Kiccha Sudeep.

Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 maintains a strong performance with an 11.1 rating. Actor Nagarjuna hosts it.

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9 reached 3.4 crore viewers on TV and got a 5.61 TVR, as per TamilTVHouse. The Tamil version is hosted by Vijay Sethupathi.

Bigg Boss Hindi Season 19 recorded a rise in ratings from 1.1 to 1.3 this week, with weekend ratings at 1.8. Superstar Salman Khan hosts the show.

What is TVR?

A TVR stands for Television Rating or Television Viewership Rating. It measures the percentage of a target audience that watched a particular program or channel at a given time.

In simple terms, it shows how many people (out of the total potential viewers) were tuned in to a specific show.

For example, a TVR of 5 means 5% of the total TV-owning audience watched that program.

TVR is one of the key metrics used in the TV industry to gauge a show’s popularity and advertising value. It’s now often replaced or supplemented by TVT (Television Viewership in Thousands) or AMA (Average Minute Audience) in India’s updated rating systems from BARC.

On Weekend Ka Vaar this Saturday, Salman will pull up contestants who exhibited bad behaviour on the show. These include Amaal Malik, Shehbaaz Badeshah and Malti Chahar.

14 Early Free People Black Friday Sale Deals Worth Shopping Before November 2025

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

As someone who’s worn the brand for over a decade, I never skip the Free People Black Friday sale. I’ve long written about my love of Free People’s dreamy, drapey aesthetic that feels effortlessly cool. My favorite barrel-leg jeans are an original, as are several of my oversized jackets, flowy dresses, and yoga leggings. The company’s boho vibes manage to hit key fashion trends with quality that ensures its pieces last through the seasons.

Last year, Free People’s Cyber Week sale brought an additional 40% off sale styles, which meant clothing deals of up to 75% off original prices—but I’m far too impatient to wait until November 28 to refresh my fall wardrobe, especially with so many great markdowns already live. Below, I’ve rounded up the early Free People Black Friday sale finds worth shopping now—before the best sizes and colors disappear.

bitchy | Keanu Reeves on rumors that he’s married: people sent a lot of nice messages

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Keanu Reeves has a new movie out called Good Fortune. It costars Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, Sandra Oh, and Keke Palmer. He’s also currently doing a Broadway revival of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot with his Bill and Ted co-star Alex Winter. As such, he’s been on a big PR blitz lately. Keanu has no online presence and tends to disappear from the public eye when he’s not promoting anything, so it’s been a treat to get so many new interviews and soundbites.

One of the biggest things Keanu keeps getting asked about is the prevalence of AI-generated deepfake images and scammers using his likeness. Because he has no social media accounts, Keanu is one of the most-imitated stars and has to pay a company to combat scams by removing fake accounts and AI images. A few weeks ago, a fake picture of Keanu and his longtime girlfriend Alexandra Grant made its way around the internet. It showed them in wedding attire and announced that they’d gotten married. Both Alexandra and Keanu’s rep issued statements to deny it. While on the Today show, Keanu brushed it off because ”we’re in that world”. Well, the picture looked real enough that it fooled a lot of people. At the Good Fortune premiere, Keanu shared that the rumors don’t bother him and that he got a lot of “nice messages” from people.

“Well, that wasn’t the first time,” he joked to E! News about rumors circulating that the pair are married. “We’ve been going out for a long time.”

Reeves’ comments come weeks after Grant, 52, reacted to the rumors on Instagram, calling them “fake news.” Alongside a photo of the couple kissing on a staircase, she wrote on Sept. 24, “This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss! (Albeit maybe the moment right before or after it… given the slightly goofy expressions on our faces!).”

“I’m sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married,” the visual artist continued. “Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here’s a bit of real happiness!”

Reeves told E! News that Grant “did a wonderful [job]” setting the record straight.

“The wedding, it’s a nice thing,” he said. “People did a lot of nice messages and stuff, but Alexandra just did a wonderful [job] addressing. Like, ‘Thank you, but here’s the reality.’ “

[From People]

Of course people were going to send Keanu nice messages! He’s one of the most beloved actors alive and is widely regarded as one of the nicest people on the planet. I hate that people don’t leave him and Alexandra alone, but at least in this case, he got to feel the love. I wonder if he received a bunch of congratulatory text messages from friends since that’s the only way people could send them to him directly. I’m sure Alexandra also received tons of well wishes and shared them with him. I can’t imagine how stressful it is to be famous in a world where people can just make stuff up about you and back it up by using deepfake AI images. Being so chill about it is such a classic Keanu response, but I suppose he really is used to it by now.

Keanu and Alex were on The Tonight Show on Monday night. Stephen Colbert, who paid tribute to the late Diane Keaton earlier in the show and aired clips of a 2012 interview he’d done with her, asked Keanu to share any fond memories he had of working with her on Something’s Gotta Give. Keanu called her “an extraordinary, unique, special person and artist” and talked about how much he loved watching Diane and Jack Nicholson film that scene where they insult each other. It was a really nice moment.

Mumtaz Once Revealed People Were In Disbelief When They Learned She Turned Down This Legendary Actor’s Marriage Proposal: “Nobody Believed That…”

Bollywood icon Mumtaz once opened up about a surprising decision in her personal life that shocked people around her. The actress revealed she turned down a legendary actor’s proposal, a move that few could believe back then. It reflects her strong personality, highlighting the courage and conviction behind her bold choice. Keep scrolling for the deets.

She started her career as a child artist at 11, appearing in films including Lajwanti and Sone ki Chidiya. As an adult, her breakthrough came with Rajesh Khanna-starrer Do Raaste. Over the years, she emerged as one of the most iconic actresses in the Indian film industry. Some of her most popular movies include Khilona, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Apna Desh, Jheel Ke Us Paar, and more.

When Mumtaz turned down Shammi Kapoor’s marriage proposal

According to a throwback Hindustan Times report, Mumtaz and Shammi Kapoor were in love. He also wanted to marry her and proposed to the veteran actress. However, Mumtaz turned him down and tied the knot to businessman Mayur Madhvani. The couple has two daughters, one of whom is married to actor Fardeen Khan.

People were stunned when they learned she had turned down Shammi Kapoor.

The actress said, “The world wanted to marry me but I had to decide who I shall remain happy with. Shammi Kapoor was very loving and caring with me. Nobody would believe that we were in love. Nobody believed that I had said ‘no’ to him for marriage because Shammi’s status in riches was higher; they said ‘how can Mumtaz refuse Shammi?’.”

She explained, “Today, when I am married to Mayur Madhvani, who by the grace of God has money, people believe that I had refused Shammi. Still, all said and done, I don’t think I have ever experienced so much love as Shammi gave me.”

She also did not want to marry Feroz Khan, a heartthrob back then. Mumtaz explained that marrying him would have been like jumping into a lake, which would have invited heartbreak. She added that she had already experienced heartbreak with Shammi Kapoor and did not want to go through it again.

Cancer specialist warns how consuming too much dairy regularly may raise cancer risk: ‘People who consume…’

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Dairy products are a common part of diets worldwide, often praised for their calcium and protein content. However, like many foods, moderation is key. Consuming certain dairy products excessively may pose health risks. Dr Sharmin Yaqin, M.D. (Oncology) and cancer prevention specialist based in Dubai, shared in her October 2 Instagram post how too much dairy could increase cancer risk and shares tips for making safer dietary choices. (Also read: Cancer specialist says adding these simple foods to your plate could naturally lower your risk of cancer: ‘Fruits and…’ )

Dairy products may heighten cancer risk, says oncology specialist Dr. Sharmin Yaqin. (Shutterstock)

How does dairy affect cancer risk

Dairy is a staple in many diets, but according to Dr Sharmin Yaqin, it may not be as harmless as it seems. She highlights the potential risks of consuming dairy, particularly its link to cancer.

“Dairy is an inflammatory food, and any products made from cow, buffalo, or goat milk are considered inflammatory. They cause inflammation, and inflammation plays a major role in cancer,” explains Dr Yaqin.

She stresses that this applies to everyone, regardless of whether a person currently has any illness. “Dairy impacts inflammation, so it should be avoided, whether or not someone has a medical condition,” Dr Yaqin adds.

Which dairy products are linked to prostate cancer

In particular, research has shown a connection between dairy consumption and prostate cancer. “For example, in the case of prostate cancer, studies indicate that people who consume dairy daily are at a higher risk. Whether it’s paneer, processed cheese, yoghurt, milk, or cream in any form, dairy can be harmful,” she says.

Dr Yaqin advises that being mindful of dairy intake and choosing anti-inflammatory alternatives can play a key role in reducing cancer risk and supporting overall health.

John Lennon / Yoko Ono / Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band / Elephant’s Memory: Power to the People (The Ultimate Collection) Album Review

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

At the One To One concerts, Lennon displayed a certain nervous energy, which pairs well with the sleazeball boogie of Elephant’s Memory, a local NYC band best known for its contributions to the soundtrack of Midnight Cowboy. Elephant’s Memory served as the backing band for Some Time, but were too slack and lackadaisical to get through the One To One concerts without the reinforcement of drummer Jim Keltner, who helps give the performance a serious, heavy swing.

Frontloading Power to the People with the One To One performances—the two sets are here, along with a hybrid highlights disc—illustrates how Lennon spent the early ’70s wallowing in the pleasures of old-time rock’n’roll. Even when he and Ono are having an improvisatory freak-out with Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention, it’s rooted in basic three-chord changes. Almost all of the songs John and Yoko wrote during this period are deliberately simple: “Sisters, O Sisters” is a revved-up girl group number, “Attica State” and “John Sinclair” are straightforward blues, “The Luck of the Irish” is a folk ballad, ”New York City” is high-octane Chuck Berry boogie.

The exception to the rule is the one song of the period that isn’t here: “Woman is the N***** of the World,” an overblown wall-of-sound homage intended as an anthem of feminist solidarity, inspired by a slogan Yoko Ono likely adapted from a line in Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God. The box set ignores that track (despite the fact that Lennon chose it as Some Time’s single), cutting it out of the new mixes of the album and the accompanying concerts. Its absence helps shift the story towards Lennon’s continued return to the big bang of 1950s rock’n’roll during this volatile period. Left to his own devices, he sings oldies: the last song disc here is a “Home Jam,” where he’s sitting around the house strumming Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly tunes. On its cousin “Studio Jam” disc, Lennon leads his band through Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley rockers. These passages are loose, maybe even to a fault, but they’re charming, capturing one of the greatest rock vocalists singing unencumbered by an audience.

These two discs of informal jams are the ideal coda to Power to the People, which chronicles the era when Lennon was keenly aware that he was performing at all times. It wasn’t just that he was playing his first live shows since the breakup of the Beatles. Lennon and Ono were omnipresent in 1971 and 1972, heading off to Ann Arbor to play a rally to free John Sinclair, strumming songs with Phil Ochs in a hotel room, accepting seemingly any offer to appear on TV, as evidenced by their appearance on the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy telethon. A rousing reggae-fied version of “Give Peace a Chance,” plucked from the telethon, features Lewis himself as part of the onstage chorus; his appearance crystallizes the essential oddness of this period. Even as he got his hands grimy in the leftist underground, Lennon remained one of the most famous men in the world, using mainstream platforms to preach politics to the masses. The dissonance of this intersection remains intriguing, long after the headlines have faded away.

“People Don’t Always Get Him”

Suniel Shetty Once Showered Praise On Longtime Friend Salman Khan!
Suniel Shetty Once Said Salman Khan Was The “Most Understood Person” On Earth!(Photo Credit –Instagram)

Salman Khan is undoubtedly one of the most iconic figures in Indian cinema, with a remarkable legacy of blockbuster films that have defined his career. Over the years, he has amassed a devoted fan base that eagerly anticipates each of his releases, while being captivated by his charismatic off-screen persona.

His influence and films continue to be at the center of industry conversations. Salman is not only loved by his fans and admirers but also by his industry peers. In a past interview, his longtime friend and fellow Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty spoke candidly about Salman Khan, describing him as one of the most misunderstood stars in the industry.

Suniel Shetty Showered Praise On Salman Khan

Speaking about the Kick actor, Suniel Shetty said, “Salman is a man who’s on a different level; he is the most misunderstood person on this planet. Sometimes actors make mistakes in the selection of a movie. If Salman gets a movie on a good topic, he makes sure to shine in it no matter what.”

The Dhadkan actor further lauded Salman Khan, describing him as a star who consistently goes the extra mile in every endeavor. Highlighting Salman’s unmatched box office power, he pointed out how success is perceived differently for him compared to other actors. While many stars celebrate 200 crore collection as superhit, for Salman, that same milestone is often considered below par.

Suniel Shetty noted that this factor alone speaks volumes about Salman Khan’s unparalleled stardom and influence in cinema. “People don’t always get him. If I had to sum him up in two words, they’d be ‘human being’ and ‘being human,’ that’s exactly who Salman is.”

“He’s a different kind of person, someone who goes above and beyond in everything he does… We call a Rs. 200 crore film of his a flop, but for most of the industry, that would be seen as a superhit. When he gets the right story, he creates magic. Even his so-called underperforming films earn Rs 200 crore,” he mentioned. The actor’s heartfelt remarks reveal the genuine, down-to-earth person behind Salman Khan’s larger-than-life superstar image.

What Next For Salman Khan?

After Sikandar, Salman Khan’s line-up continues to be filled with high-octane entertainers, including his eagerly awaited war drama, Battle of Galwan, which has sparked widespread buzz and curiosity online since the release of its first look. A reunion with director Kabir Khan, particularly on a project like Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 has also been rumored, which could signal a return to the emotionally rich storytelling that made their previous collaboration so memorable.

Charlie Hunnam as Ed Gein in episode 304 of Monster: The Ed Gein Story.
TV & Streaming

Here’s What People Are Saying

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

After Monster: The Ed Gein Story debuted on Netflix on Friday, it soon earned the No. 2 spot on the streamer’s platform charts with 12.2 million views in its first week.

The true-crime series is the third season in the Monster anthology co-created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. Like every season, it follows a serial killer (or two). But this time, the show centers around Ed Gein, a murderer known to kill women, wear their skin and faces and dig up graves. It stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) in the lead role.

And while the previous two seasons, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, earned a fair share of criticism for their alleged sensational portrayal of murder victims, Ed Gein is also stirring up some debate. It currently holds a 20 percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but its audience score more than doubles that, at 54 percent.

Before the show dropped on the streamer, Hunnam told The Hollywood Reporter what he hopes people focus on if they critique the show. “If people are compelled to talk about it and think about it, hopefully they’ll actually be compelled to watch the show,” Hunnam said. “What I would hope and feel really confident in is that it was a very sincere exploration of the human condition and why this boy did what he did.” He also added: “I never felt like we were sensationalizing it. I never felt on set that we did anything gratuitous or for shock impact. It was all in order to try to tell this story as honestly as we could.”

As Hunnam mentions, the show portrays Ed’s mental health struggles as an undiagnosed schizophrenic. “Ed at its core is a story of mental illness. It was as important for us to show the horror of his inner life and his sort of prison that his brain was trapped in to show that horror as it was about this or that kill, per se,” Brennan told THR.

Read on to learn what audiences are saying about Monster: The Ed Gein Story.

Cosmopolitan U.K. responded to the moment in the series, where Ed looks at the camera and says that they’re the ones who can’t look away, writing, “Monster: The Ed Gein Story feels like a critique of our desensitization.” The scene addressed Ed’s influence on media and how that scene was in response to people being obsessed with true crime. Hunnam told THR what he hopes that scene represents: “Is it Ed Gein who was abused and left in isolation and suffering from undiagnosed mental illness and went and that manifested in some pretty horrendous ways? Or was the monster the legion of filmmakers that took inspiration from his life and sensationalized it to make entertainment and darken the American psyche in the process?” he said. “Is Ed Gein the monster of this show, or is Hitchcock the monster of the show? Or are we the monster of the show because we’re watching it?”

The New York Times also added to the true crime appeal, writing, “It makes sense that prestige television would eventually come for Gein. Viewers have a seemingly insatiable appetite for stories, true and false, centered on the more outrageous aspects of human nature — an appetite that Murphy, with his American Horror Story, American Crime Story and Monster franchises, has made a late career of whetting.”

The U.K.’s Times wrote: “Gein’s story blurs with the audiences’ appalled reactions to Psycho in a not uninteresting way as Hitch questions what he’s started: ‘The audience has changed and I’m the one who changed them. Like hogs who tasted blood.’ Or who tasted ghoulish true crime. Another reading of all this might be that Murphy is turning things on us to play with criticisms that his work can be exploitative. We are the ones who want this stuff; he’s showing us that it was ever thus and inviting us to lap it up again, slaves to our worst instincts. Or is it being that clever?”

A viewer on Rotten Tomatoes wrote that the show effectively mixed emotions. “Loved this, along with some great characters Charlie Hunnam’s was brilliant as Ed Gein, evoked a lot of emotions, dislike, hate, frustration and in the end pity, it was a real mix of fact and artistic license, the links to the influenced movies and other serial killers I understood it and liked how they did it, I thought it worked really well.”

The Guardian gave a harsher take: “The Monster series’ ultimate assertion: that we live in a sick, sad world and thus should be shown the sick, sad things that happen in it. Maybe there is some value in that. Though, one wishes that Murphy and Brennan and all else involved in this dubious project would be honest about what interests them. If they want to revel in the blood and muck of American life, so be it. Plenty of people will happily hop into the gunk with them. But it’s rather galling to cloak that indecent fascination in pseudo-academic analysis. It’s possible that the Ed Gein Story clumsily grasps for higher meaning simply because it has to fill eight hours of programming. And yet it’s hard not to see a more sinister, self-exonerating motivation behind it. Whatever the reason, the end product is crass where it tries to be elegant, exploitative where it plays at compassion.”

Time magazine spoke about Adeline and Ed’s relationship, writing, “Adeline pores over the most gruesome documents of human experience available; she gets off on her proximity to a man who is killing people and defiling dead bodies. Yet her relationship with Ed is entirely selfish. After his arrest, she dolls herself up to give interviews in which she claims they were merely acquaintances and tries to change the subject to talk up her own dubious charms and talents. Like a fan geeking out at CrimeCon, she derives vicarious pleasure from real people’s pain but has empathy for neither the victims nor the tortured villain. Adeline is a forerunner of the hordes we see flocking to Ed once he is a celebrity—the line of gawkers who tour his home and bid on his belongings, without realizing the man running the auction is the son of a victim; the patrons at sold-out screenings of William Castle’s exploitative “sex horror” flicks; serial killers of the ’70s and ’80s who riff on his methods. Adeline is a point of comparison, too, for artists influenced by Ed.”

Time, went on to say: “Monster has, itself, been the target of criticism from people like the Menendezes and the families of Dahmer’s victims, who feel their traumas have been milked for sensation rather than sublimated into high art. I guess it’s possible that Brennan identifies more with Castle than with Hitchcock. In that case, Ed Gein is also a show that hates itself.”

Despite receiving some harsh takes, there were viewers who praised the cast’s acting chops and for it being entertaining. “The Ed Gein story was a good watch! The acting in this was brilliant, yes at times the flash backs were confusing but in the end it was a brilliant series that all linked well in the end. It definitely made me feel uncomfortable, like it’s suppose to. 5 star series all the way; I look forward to the next monster series,” one user wrote on Rotten Tomatoes.

Another user wrote: “Very interesting take on Ed’s life, his personality and struggles with untreated mental health. The way they created storylines within Ed Geins actual story was such a daring and gut wrenching way to show a broken human being in his darkest moments with schizophrenia, trauma, childhood abuse, mental illness (in which he suffered alone with all of it), and the monster it inevitably lead him to be. Truly fascinating.”
