Sarah Paulson always thought Pedro Pascal was “the most talent person” she knew.

Sarah Paulson opens up on Pedro Pascal friendship

The All’s Fair actress has opened up about her longtime friendship with the Hollywood megastar, who broke out as a major name with high profile roles in the likes of The Mandalorian, The Last Of Us and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Asked on Watch What Happens Live if she saw this level of superstardom in his future, she told host Andy Cohen: “Here’s what I… well, this level is hard to imagine, I think, for anyone.

“It’s hard to image, but I always knew he was the most talented person I knew. And I knew that if anything was right in the world, that his working life would become this.

“So, it’s not surprising to me from a talent level, but anytime someone has a… that doesn’t really happen that much anymore, where someone like bursts on the scene and has a thing.”

The chat show host also asked the American Horror Story star to name “the one thing about your best friendship with Pedro Pascal that his fans would be surprised to know”.

After jokingly branding her friend “a b**** baby”, she gave a more serious answer.

She added: “He, you know, has a lot of demands, is what I feel. A lot of demands, which he would argue are my demands, and I argue they’re his.

“We’re like, we’re brother and sister.”

She quipped that her friend “pays for dinner now”, and revealed his incredible passion for films.

She explained: “He’s a real cinephile. That’s something that people would maybe be surprised to know.

“Like, he is, he knows about more movies than any, than the Letterboxd place that I go to. “And he drags me to all the scariest movies that I don’t want to see. So, that’s something he likes to do, is take me to scary movies.”

Sarah Paulson has paid an emotional tribute to her late friend and co-star Diane Keaton

Following the Oscar-winning actor’s death earlier this month aged 79, the actress spoke to Access Hollywood at the premiere of her new Hulu series All’s Fair about the loss, with Sarah, 50, saying she was struggling to come to terms with the passing.

She said: “She was a very dear friend of mine, so it’s not something I’m able to talk about yet. I’m not able to talk about it. But all I can say, and I have been saying tonight, which is important to me to communicate, is that what you thought she was as a performer, she was even more spectacular as a human being.”

Sarah and Diane first met while filming the 1999 movie The Other Sister, in which Diane played her fellow actress’ on-screen mother.

The pair remained close friends for the next 25 years until Diane’s death.

Sarah added: “I was the luckiest person in the world to have had her in my life the way that I did.”

At the same event, the star spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and described the loss as “profoundly sad”.

She said: “I can’t talk about it in any way that’s articulate other than to say that for all you knew and loved about her as a performer, she was even more as a friend.”

Diane’s family confirmed her death on 16 October, saying she died of pneumonia on 11 October.

In a statement released to the press, they said: “The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane.

“She loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her.”

In the days following her death, several Hollywood figures shared tributes to Keaton, including Keanu Reeves, Patricia Arquette, Clint Eastwood, Richard Gere and Al Pacino, who starred alongside her in The Godfather films.

The 50-year-old actress said her pal gave her the nickname “Emmys coach” after Sarah told Katherine, 58, to stay calm and enjoy the awards bash – which was held at the Peacock Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California, on September 14.

Sarah told People: “She calls me her Emmys coach because I’ve been really fortunate to have gone and run that gauntlet a couple of times, and I’ve won and I’ve lost.

“I just sort of was trying to remind her of all the things that nobody was there to tell me about, which is to try to breathe and take it all in and enjoy the moment and just try to be where your feet are.”

The American Horror Story actress went on to share that Hollywood legend Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, had previously given her similar advice.

Sarah said of the Freakier Friday actress: “When I was going through a particularly anxious time … [Curtis] said, ‘More will be revealed. Be where your feet are.’ And so I said the same to Katherine.

“[It’s} this beautiful chain of women sharing with other women the things that they’ve learned and helping them sort of move through these very bizarre things that we’re asked to do in terms of Emmy Awards and all that stuff.”

This year’s Primetime Emmys proved to be an unforgettable night for Katherine as she bagged the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series gong for her role as charge nurse Dana Evans in the HBO Max medical drama, The Pitt.

She said in her emotional acceptance speech: “Oh, I am so proud and honoured to receive this award from the Academy.

“My whole career, I wanted to work for John Wells [Executive Producer of The Pitt], and he elevates everything in his wake. John, I’m so much better when you’re around, mostly because I don’t want to get fired.

“Thank you, Scott Gemmill [Executive Producer of The Pitt], the writers and all the nurses that inspired Dana, Noah Wyle [who plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Rabinovitch in The Pitt], oh my God!”

And Katherine closed out her acceptance speech by thanking her family.

She said: “And lastly, my children [son Henry Hopper and daughter Eloise Show], for making me real and my beautiful husband, Grant Show, for helping me always with everything.”
