Dear Dharmendra Sir, Fight Hard & Let Us All Feel Ashamed That We Waited For Someone’s Passing, Instead Of Praying For His Recovery! [Opinion]

Dear Dharmendra Sir, Fight Hard & Let Us All Feel Ashamed For How We Have Treated You![Opinion]
We All Should Render A Collective Apology To Dharmendra Sir & His Family! (Photo Credit – Instagram)

The media is a hard place to be. You live under a constant pressure of breaking the news. We did it first, we often claim! But there are times when we need to sit down and question our conscience. How far have we come, and how insensitive we are! For the past few days, I have seen the mockery of the life of one of the most celebrated superstars of this country – Dharmendra!

A senior, reputed anchor, offering condolences to his family, a senior artist from the music fraternity singing songs to offer tribute, some reputed members of the fraternity putting up Rest In Peace messages, and all of this while the man we love was struggling and fighting hard, putting up the toughest fight he could, to breathe, to live!

Honestly, I was numb! I was speechless at this eagerness to talk about someone in the past tense, not bothering to know if he struggles. But here’s what surprised me the most – We as human beings were waiting for the news of someone’s death! Like really? How dead should our morals be to wait for the confirmation of someone’s passing away! What was needed was prayers for Dharmendra Sir’s recovery! All he needs is his fans praying for his well-being!

Superstars shower immense love on their fans. They never shy away from crediting their stardom to their fans. But here we are, the so-called fans who waited for a death confirmation, rather than celebrating his will to fight and survive! Honestly, all this added trauma to his family in such a distressing time could have been eased with an apology!

But we turned this into a further circus outside his home and pushed it to a point where Sunny Deol lost his cool at the media! I wonder how they must feel when they see their stressed video from the hospital room, which is being shamelessly circulated, without anyone’s consent, because, yes, a superstar’s life is for public display! Why bother!

While I was numb at all that happened in the past few days, one of my friends pointed out, if someone would have told me that my parents are no more while they are alive, I don’t know, what would I have done to that person, and that hit me so hard! Imagine, the distress we have been causing to someone’s family who is just praying for their father, grandfather, husband, brother, to get well soon, just fight and just live!

Dear Dharmendra Sir,

I know, no apology or sorry can undo what we have done to you and your family in the last few days! But, Sir, you keep fighting to recover and live a healthy life till you can! You fight, Sir, and get well soon, and slap us hard with that fighting spirit so that we can feel ashamed not as professionals but as human beings.

We are a bunch of gossip mongers feeding on stardom and as fans we are a spineless bunch! Once you recover, we will be the same hypocrites who would cheer loudly and praise your fighting spirit. But you fight hard to make us feel ashamed for the basic decency we’ve lost as human beings! We have become so inert, so morally bankrupt, that we wait not for someone’s revival, but for their death. Make us feel ashamed for turning into an obtuse race that now waits for the news of someone’s passing away, rather than waiting for the news of their recovery!

Sorry will never be enough!

‘Angrezon Ke Zamane Ka Jailer’ No More: Bollywood Mourns Comedy Legend Asrani’s Passing At 84

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Bollywood is grief-stricken today as veteran actor and comedian Asrani – born Govardhan Asrani – passed away in Mumbai at the age of 84 after a prolonged illness. His death marks the end of an era for Hindi cinema, which has lost one of its most cherished and versatile performers.

Final moments and farewell

Asrani reportedly passed away around 3:00 pm at the Arogya Nidhi Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, following health complications. His manager confirmed the news, stating that the veteran had been undergoing treatment for breathing issues and had been admitted just days prior.

In keeping with his personal wishes, the actor’s last rites were conducted the same day at the Santacruz crematorium in a modest, private ceremony attended by his family and close friends. The family shared that Asrani had not wanted his passing to become a spectacle.

From Jaipur beginnings to Bollywood stardom

Born on January 1, 1941, in Jaipur into a humble Sindhi family, Asrani’s journey to the silver screen was one of sheer grit and talent. He initially worked as a voice artist at All India Radio in his hometown, and later joined the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.

Despite his formal training, early years were a struggle. He took on small roles while teaching at FTII and gradually worked his way up. His big break arrived in the 1971 film Guddi, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, after which he went on to deliver a string of standout performances.

The role of a lifetime: from Sholay to timeless comedy

While Asrani appeared in more than 300 films across five decades, the role that cemented his place in Indian pop-culture was that of the eccentric jailer in the 1975 cult classic Sholay. His nasal delivery of the line “Angrezon ke zamaane ka jailor” remains etched in public memory.

Beyond Sholay, his remarkable comic timing shone in films such as Chupke Chupke, Bawarchi, Abhimaan, Chhoti Si Baat, Hera Pheri, Welcome, and many more. Directors from Bombay’s golden era and subsequent revival of comedy films often relied on his dependable presence and versatility.

Even in recent years, Asrani remained active; he shot for films including Haiwaan and Bhoot Bangla, working right up until his final days. In fact, actor Akshay Kumar revealed they shared a warm hug just a week before the veteran’s death on a film set.

A legacy of laughter and respect

Colleagues, fans and film-lovers took to social media to mourn the stalwart actor. Tributes highlighted that Asrani’s brilliance lay not just in slapstick comedy, but in bringing humanity and soul to his characters. His ability to move effortlessly between humour and subtle emotion is often cited among his greatest strengths.

In a 2016 interview, Asrani himself lamented how Indian comedy had moved from subtlety to superficial shock-value — noting that earlier days had allowed for storytelling rather than mere spectacle.

What he leaves behind

Asrani is survived by his wife, Manju Asrani, his sister and nephew. The couple did not have children. The film-industry has lost one of its last link-bridges to a decade when character actors were equals to stars in laying the emotional foundations of a story.

Today, as Sholay plays on television screens across the country, a wave of nostalgia is rippling through millions who laughed with him, cried with him, and celebrated years of cinematic joy. The day of his passing being Diwali only heightens the emotion — around the same time when lights and celebrations were lighting up homes, Bollywood’s own light has dimmed.

The final bow

In his own understated way, Asrani left the stage for good — not with a flamboyant exit, but with a quiet passing that reflects the humility and grounded nature of the man. He didn’t seek fanfare. He simply left behind a body of work that will keep generations smiling.

Bollywood may never again find another jailer as iconic nor an actor so cherished for his every-man persona wrapped in comic genius. And as festivals come and go, perhaps the real fireworks will now be those flickering in memory of Asrani — the laughter, the timing, the joy.

Rest in laughter, legend.

KISS’ Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons “Devastated” by Ace Frehley’s Passing

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have shared a statement on the passing of fellow KISS co-founder Ace Frehley, who died Thursday at the age of 74 after suffering a brain bleed following a recent fall at his studio.

“We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley,” stated Stanley and Simmons in a joint statement provided to Consequence. “He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy. Our thoughts are with Jeanette, Monique and all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”

Separately, Simmons wrote on X/Twitter, “Our hearts are broken. Ace has passed on. No one can touch Ace’s legacy. I know he loved the fans. He told me many times. Sadder still, Ace didn’t live long enough to be honored at the Kennedy Ctr Honors event in Dec. Ace was the eternal rock soldier. Long may his legacy live on!”

In the years since Frehley left KISS for good in 2002, the relationship between him and his former bandmates was contentious at times, but, as evidenced by their statements, Stanley and Simmons both held the guitarist’s legacy in the band in high regard.

Fellow KISS co-founder Peter Criss also paid tribute to Frehley, writing on X/Twitter, “I’m shocked!!! My friend… I love you!” Numerous tributes have also poured in from other musicians, including Tom Morello, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, and more.

Clipse Talk Articulating Parents’ Passing In “The Birds Don’t Sing”

by jummy84 October 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Earlier this month at Pepsi’s Philly Eats Fest, Clipse opened up exclusively to VIBE about the deeply personal video for “The Birds Don’t Sing” — the heartfelt tribute to their late parents.

The Brendan O’Connor-directed visual, from their critically acclaimed album Let God Sort Em Out, finds the brothers revisiting their childhood home in Virginia Beach, articulating their grief through song.

“When asked what it was like being back in the house where they grew up, surrounded by photos and memories of their parents, Pusha T and No Malice didn’t mince words. “I didn’t think I could do it,” Pusha admitted to VIBE. The brothers also confessed to mentally checking out at times while reflecting on the reality that their parents are no longer physically present.

“I think I check out every day. I have that revelation like, ‘Damn. My parents aren’t here. I think about it every day. It’s something that you got to deal with,” Pusha candidly revealed. “I don’t know if it gets easier. It’s just tough. [‘The Birds Don’t Sing’] is a very real song and a reality for a lot of people. It was great to be able to articulate it through video.”

Malice added a spiritual perspective. “That’s the message and the Gospel that Christ rose. So when we get ready to go to the grave you better take the grave robber with you. I have an eternal destiny. I know this is not the end,” he said.

Speaking to how they have been getting through the hard time for the last four years, he added, “We do mourn … but we don’t mourn as those who have no hope. I’m very thankful for my parents… the legacy that they left and the legacy that we get to pass down to our children. So we have to rejoice here right now in the living.”

No Malice and Pusha T of Clipse attend the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2025 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on June 18, 2024 in Paris, France.

Taking a lighthearted turn, the ‘Grindin” duo reflected on their bond outside the studio and stage, sharing some of the things they still do as brothers. “We talk about rapping and who’s not good and how terrible they are and how much better we are than them,” Malice quipped. “That’s something we do. My brother [Pusha] always talks to me about what’s new going on, and with his son Nigel… just brother talk.”

That everyday connection and shared grief translate into the raw vulnerability at the heart of “The Birds Don’t Sing” video. Fans are given an intimate glimpse into their past, from home movies to family photos, culminating with Pusha T’s son placing flowers at his grandparents’ gravesite. While John Legend and Voices of Fire contribute vocals to the track, the visual remains firmly centered on Clipse.

“Lost in emotion, mama’s youngest/ Tryna navigate life without my compass/ Some experience death and feel numbness/ But not me, I felt it all and couldn’t function,” raps Pusha T in the first verse dedicated to their mother. Malice follows with a tribute to their father: “I can hear your voice now, I can feel your presence/ Askin’ ‘Should I rap again?’, you gave me your blessing/ The way you spelled it out, there’s an L in every lesson/ ‘Boy, you owe it to the world, let your mess become your message.’”

See below.

Earlier this summer, the brothers reflected on the emotional toll of writing the song in a conversation with Interview Mag. Pusha T explained, “Man, ‘Birds Don’t Sing’ had to be the hardest verse I’ve ever written.” He also shared that the song took four days of “gut-wrenching reminiscing,” to come together and “putting it all on paper was such a heavy task.”

“It was definitely one of those verses that’s going to go down in history for me, just with really tapping into the emotion and being as honest and as vulnerable as I’ve ever been on a song” he declared.

Malice echoed his brother’s sentiments in the interview, adding, “Yeah, I agree. It was hard for me too, from an emotional standpoint, coming up with verses. It’s our parents, and you want to do them justice in sharing with the world exactly who they were as people and what they meant to us. At the same time, with every line, you’re reminded of your own personal grief while trying to express that to the listener.”

“The Birds Don’t Sing” is the third visual from Let God Sort Em Out, following “Chains & Whips,” which features Kendrick Lamar, and the declarative “So Be It.”

Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Mom Sets Record Straight On Details Surrounding His Death

On Tuesday, September 16, ABC News published an exclusive video interview featuring Pamela Warner. During the interview, Pamela set the record straight on the details surrounding her son’s passing. As The Shade Room previously reported, it was initially asserted that Malcolm-Jamal drowned after trying to save himself and his daughter from an undercurrent while swimming on a beach in Costa Rica on July 20. Then, it was asserted that Malcolm-Jamal was swimming with a friend while his daughter was safely onshore when he was swept by the current, per The Shade Room.

“They were in the water, I think maybe chest-deep at, even at that — maybe waist-deep,” Pamela explained to Robin Roberts. “There was an undertow, and my son was not an experienced swimmer. He did not know how to deal with an undertow.”

Pamela confirmed that Malcolm-Jamal’s daughter was safely onshore when the tragedy occurred.

As the interview continued, Pamela explained that she’s come to “peace” with her son’s death.

“That was his time. That was the manner in which he was to transition, and this is what I believe and what I feel,” she explained. “I’m very grateful that I was chosen to be his mother. I think more than anything, I’m at peace with everything that happened. There was nothing left on the table. There was no shoulda, coulda, woulda. ‘I wish I would have said this, I wish I would have done this.’ I don’t have that. I feel that our journey together as mother and son was complete.”

As for Malcolm-Jamal’s wife, Tenisha, and his daughter, Pamela, explained that they are both in “deep grief.”

“Children process differently. She watched them resuscitate him, try to resuscitate him. She saw that, and I know that’s awfully, awfully traumatic. She loved her father dearly. She adored papa. He was ‘papa,’ and so they’re both in deep grief,” she explained.

Giorgio Armani’s Final Bow & Anna Wintour’s Passing of the Torch.

Giorgio Armani’s Final Bow & Anna Wintour’s Passing of the Torch.

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

9 September 2025

Imagine a chessboard of couture and gloss, with the two grandmasters of fashion making their final moves.

Anna Wintour

One’s gone; the other has passed the baton.

Giorgio Armani died at 91, and Anna Wintour has stepped down as editor-in-chief of Vogue.

One thing is clear – the industry’s equilibrium has shifted.

Now, the game is changing, and no one will forget in a hurry where the pieces landed.

Giorgio Armani – a fashion Titan falls

Giorgio Armani, the legendary Italian designer, affectionately known as “Re Giorgio,” passed away on September 4, 2025.

Surrounded by all who loved him, especially his family and friends, Armani died of age-related illness at his Milan home.

His trademark minimalism, from relaxed tailoring to power suits, was revolutionary and transformed the fashion landscape.

It redefined how elegance is now worn by both men and women.

Giorgio’s empire spanned not just clothing.

From fragrance to home décor, hotels, and beyond, Armani yielded an empire worth over $12 billion and a career that never lost momentum even as he prepared a 50-year retrospective for Milan Fashion Week.

After his passing, Milan paid him a respectful homage.

The public viewings drew thousands, stores were all closed, and owners couldn’t hide their tears. A private funeral was conducted in Rivalt.

As The Wall Street Journal aptly put it: Giorgio Armani was “The fashion titan who balanced softness with power,” a force whose shadow will linger in every tailored silhouette.

The Iron-Willed Visionary Steps Aside

In June 2025, after an unparalleled 37-year tenure as editor-in-chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour stepped down but not out.

She was elevated to global leadership roles, including Global Chief Content Officer of Condé Nast, and became Global Editorial Director at Vogue, continuing to shape its creative landscape.

In early September, Vogue announced her successor: Chloé Malle, former editor of Vogue.com.

Malle assumed the editor-in-chief role of American Vogue, officially continuing Wintour’s legacy into the next era.

Fashion Industry at Crossroads

Armani’s death and Wintour’s resignation are sending ripples through runways and boardrooms alike.

Côte d’Azur and Milan are reeling from Armani’s absence, while new creatives at Chanel, Dior, and Gucci face immense pressure to honour legacy while pushing boundaries.

Wintour’s departure from the Vogue helm signals a shift from the old guard to a new, digitally savvy era.

Malle’s ascension may define how Vogue evolves in a post-Wintour, post-Armani world.

My Final Thought

With Armani’s departure, fashion loses its measured elegance.

With Wintour’s pivot, it steps away from its iron-willed editorial nucleus.

The industry’s pulse is quickening.

Who will own the next chapter? We do not know.

One thing’s for certain, however, —it’s not a moment the fashion world will forget anytime soon.

It’s that moment when Armani’s legacy, his contribution and his statements through fashion will continue to scream through the annals of history.

And the next generation, who didn’t come close to seeing what he did, will certainly know his work and name.
