Veteran Actress Sandhya Shantaram Passes Away

by jummy84 October 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Veteran actress Sandhya Shantaram has passed away at the age of 94. Her last rites have been performed at Shivaji Park Crematorium today morning. The actress was known for starring in various Hindi and Marathi movies, many directed by her husband V Shantaram. From the 1950s to the 1960s, her most notable movies include Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje (1955), Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1958), Navrang (1959), Marathi film Pinjra (1972) and Amar Bhoopali (1951).
The cause of her death hasn’t been revealed yet. Her family hasn’t opened up about her demise publicly.

Sandhya had begun her journey in the film industry with the movie Amar Bhoopali.  She was discovered by V. Shantaram himself. She also starred in the movie Teen Batti Char Raasta (1953), where she played an impoverished girl named Kokila. For her role in Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje, Sandhya underwent intense classical dance training to do justice to the role. The movie went on to win four Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.

Interestingly, much of Sandhya’s journey in the film industry has been with her husband. She starred with him in Do Aankhen Barah Haath, where she played the role of toy seller Champa. She was seen in Navrang as the wife of a poet. Sandhya gracefully danced in the song Arre Ja Re Hatt Natkhat, which went on to become a huge hit.

She also starred in Stree (1961), which showed Shakuntala’s journey from the Mahabharata. Sandhya had to prepare filming with lions as some of the scenes used real animals. Her last major role was in the Marathi movie Pinjra.

After that, her major public appearance was during the V. Shantaram Awards ceremony in 2009. She commemorated the 50th anniversary of Navrang at the event.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her friends, family and fans at this difficult hour.

8-Year-Old Passes Away After Collapse Accident

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

A Missouri family is grieving their 8-year-old just weeks before what would have been his ninth birthday. Cortez Williams Jr., lovingly known as CJ, passed away within hours of a children’s swing set collapsing on him. The death shocked his loved ones, mainly because CJ didn’t have much external injury when they first freed him from the playset. He would’ve turned nine years old in October 2025.

More Details About The Swing Set Incident

The St. Louis County Police Department released a report on September 22 about what happened to CJ. It cited the date and time of the swing set accident as the day before, around 6 p.m. Officers from the city’s North County Precinct responded to a call for sick service. When they arrived at the home on the
11300 block of Larimore Road, Cortez Williams Jr. was found unresponsive.

During their initial investigation, officers learned 8-year-old CJ was “playing on a backyard swing set when it collapsed,” per the press release. After the set collapsed, it trapped Williams Jr. under a crossbar. Family members ultimately freed the child, who reportedly “only appeared to have minor injuries. Later, CJ became unresponsive. After being transported to the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead.

His cause of death will be determined after an autopsy. However, the local Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is already investigating the death as accidental. Last week, CJ’s loved ones were reportedly arranging his homegoing service.

Father Of Cortez Williams Jr. Speaks Out

WUSA9 also caught up with Cortez Williams Sr., who gave an emotional interview about losing his son during what was supposed to be a chill Sunday afternoon. The father told the outlet he had dropped his 8-year-old off at his mother’s house that morning. Then, several hours later, he got the shocking FaceTime call from his daughter. On it, she was allegedly crying and saying CJ wasn’t responsive. At the time, Williams Sr. said the only thing going through his mind was returning to his son, given that he was out of town for work.

After other family members freed CJ, his dad said he didn’t show any apparent signs of injury, such as bleeding. He had “a little scratch on his stomach,” but that was about it. His behavior appeared normal, aside from expressing sleepiness.

“They said he was talking, responding, asking for water and something to eat,” Williams Sr. said. “The only thing he kept saying was that he wanted to go to sleep.”

While CJ napped, his mother made him something to eat, per Williams Sr. About an hour after that, things worsened, the dad said. When he woke up and walked around, he collapsed. Still, he had no external injuries and kept asking for water and something to eat. “…So they gave him some water, and she was finished cooking the food, and they said he was quiet for a while,” his father told WUSA9. “Next thing you know, they said he wasn’t responding anymore.”

Dad Shares Message About Kids & Minor Injuries

During his interview, Cortez Williams Sr. made it a point to share an important message with other parents. He warned them to take their children to the hospital for “any little thing” that happens.

“The risk of not taking them is…you see the pain I’m in, it’s a bad risk, I don’t want anyone to have to go through this. I’m trying my best, but it’s hard,” CJ’s dad said.

Sadly, Williams Sr. didn’t make it home in time to see his son alive again. “It’s pain that’ll never go away,” the father told WUSA9. “Because of his age… it’s just something that’ll never leave.” The dad remembers his 8-year-old as a joyful kid who loved scary movies and food. He was looking forward to starting soccer.

Like Williams Sr., the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has also issued warnings about home playground equipment, such as swing sets. The agency reports that about 50,000 kids go to the ER for related injuries every year. Most of the injuries are reportedly falls. However, in some cases, kids have died when equipment tips over or breaks, trapping a child(ren).

Assata Shakur, Activist & Tupac’s Godmother, Passes Away At 78

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

For over five decades, Tupac’s aunt, Assata Shakur, was a household name. From the frontlines of the Black liberation struggle to the FBI’s most-wanted list, her story was anything but ordinary. On Friday, Cuban officials confirmed that Shakur, who had been living in exile in Havana since her dramatic 1979 prison escape, has passed away at the age of 78.

Assata Shakur Passes Away

On Friday, the Cuban Foreign Ministry took to X to officially announce the passing of Joanne Deborah Byron, better known around the world as Assata Shakur. The U.S. fugitive and revolutionary figure reportedly died in Havana on Thursday, September 25th, due to “health conditions and advanced age.” Additionally, because Assata lived a very private life, the specific health conditions she faced remain unclear.

Let’s not forget—Shakur’s name stayed on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist List, but her presence in Cuba was protected for decades. Now, the country that gave her asylum is the one delivering the final word. A complicated legacy, no doubt—but one that’s impossible to ignore.

The TL Came Through Loud & Clear

The Shade Room comments section got real as roomies came through to pay respects to Assata. Tons of fans gave Cuba major props for never letting go, proving they were ride or die all the way. But of course, some kept it 100, saying Assata was exactly who they thought she was — that girl — while others just wished her a rest in peace and left it at that.

One Instagram user @asiasuprvme said, “Shoutout to Cuba for protecting this goddess, asé. 🇨🇺🤍🕊️🕯️”

This Instagram user @dreambuckz added, “Passed away free and protected! Thank you Cuba for doing what The United States have failed to do for YEARS . PROTECT A BLACK WOMAN 🙏🏾🏆”

Instagram user @rudi.not.rudy commented, “Rest in Power Queen 🙌🏾”

Meanwhile, Instagram user @addicted2_lex shared, “Cuba never gave her up , she died a free woman 👏🔥❤️”

While Instagram user @zaddyyy_ink joked, “They still have all her belongings at The prison… they swore she was coming back😂”

Finally, Instagram user @_darae said, “She was exactly who she thought she was Rest Peacefully Queen🤎”

Unpacking Assata Shakur’s Legacy

Now, if you don’t know who Assata Shakur was, let us school you real quick. She wasn’t just some name in the headlines—Assata was a Black Liberation Army OG with a $2 million FBI bounty on her head, living that fugitive life in Havana thanks to Fidel Castro himself. Oh, and fun fact: she was also the godmother and step-aunt to none other than Tupac Shakur. Convicted for a deadly ’73 shootout that left a state trooper dead, she escaped from prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba, where she was granted political asylum and lived in exile for decades. Furthermore, Assata claimed the FBI had her on their hit list during their war on Black activists.

A Legacy That Transcended Music

Over his decades-long career, Zubeen Garg recorded thousands of songs in multiple languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, and Tamil, showcasing an immense versatility that few could match. While many across India first recognized him for the haunting Bollywood track “Ya Ali” from the 2006 film Gangster, his artistic influence ran far deeper in his home state of Assam. There, he was a symbol of regional pride and a driving force behind promoting local music and cinema.

His journey began in the early 1990s in Assam, where he quickly rose to prominence with his unique fusion of folk, rock, and classical music. Beyond his musical contributions, Zubeen Garg was an outspoken and active philanthropist. He used his platform to champion youth and social causes, often lending his voice to movements for regional rights and environmental protection. He was a unifying cultural figure whose songs captured both the joys and struggles of the Northeast, making him more than an entertainer; he was a cultural phenomenon. His artistry provided a soundtrack to the lives of millions, from the spirited celebrations of Bihu to the solemn calls for change. He fearlessly took on social issues, and his voice became a beacon of hope for many in the region.

The Shock and Outpouring of Grief

The news of Zubeen Garg’s tragic passing sent a ripple of disbelief and grief across the country. Fans flooded social media platforms with tributes, live concert clips, and personal anecdotes, expressing their sorrow. Colleagues, admirers, and political leaders from across the Northeast and beyond shared their condolences. His death is a profound loss for the Assamese community, which had come to see him as a symbol of its modern identity. His music will continue to be a source of comfort and pride, but his physical presence, which represented a fusion of artistry and activism, will be deeply missed. As tributes continue to pour in, they paint a picture of a man who was a musical visionary and a true son of the soil. His legacy is etched not only in the thousands of songs he recorded but also in the hearts of a people who considered him their voice.

Italian Fashion Designer Giorgio Armani Passes Away At 91| Bollywood Bubble

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

The fashion world has bid farewell to one of its brightest luminaries, Giorgio Armani, the legendary Italian designer whose name became synonymous with modern elegance and who built an empire rooted in his vision, has passed away at the age of 91 in Milan. Born in Piacenza on July 11, 1934, Armani’s legacy endures through the Armani Group, which announced that its founder departed peacefully, leaving an indelible mark on design and entrepreneurship.

Giorgio Armani Passed Away At 91

More than just a designer, Armani was a philosopher-king of fashion. In 1975, he sold his Volkswagen Beetle to fund his dreams — and within seven years, he graced the cover of Time magazine. His empire grew from tailored suits and red-carpet gowns to hotels, homewares, and chocolates, cementing his status as Italy’s most successful designer and one of its most astute businessmen. By 2019, his company was generating 2.1 billion euros, and his personal wealth was estimated at a staggering $11 billion.

Giorgio Connection With India

India held a special place in Armani’s creative soul. During a visit in 1994, he fell in love with the country’s rich culture, heritage, and vibrancy. Inspired by this journey, he crafted collections that captured India’s spirit, showcasing them with his signature elegance on Milan’s runways. Armani once reflected on his drive: “Perfectionism, and the need to always have new goals and achieve them, is a state of mind that brings profound meaning to life.”

Final Walk On The Runaway

Armani’s farewell was as iconic as his career — during Milan Fashion Week’s F/W 2025-26 womenswear show titled Roots, he was escorted by two shimmering models. At 90, he was still meticulously overseeing every detail backstage, a testament to his unwavering perfectionism. The runway, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, became the stage for his poignant last bow.

Funeral arrangements are scheduled at Teatro Armani in Milan from September 6 to 7, open to the public from 9 am to 6 pm.

Italian Designer Giorgio Armani Passes Away at 91

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Italian fashion icon Giorgio Armani has passed away at the age of 91, his company confirmed on Thursday. “With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani,” the fashion house said in a statement. Renowned for bringing effortless elegance to global fashion, Armani built one of the most powerful luxury empires in the world, combining creative vision with sharp business instincts.

The brand said Armani left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones. In a statement on Instagram, it said: “Mr Armani, as he was always called with respect and admiration by employees and collaborators, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Tireless, he has worked until the last days, dedicating himself to the company, to the collections, to the different and always new projects in being and to becoming.” A public funeral chamber will open in Milan this weekend, followed by a private ceremony for family and close friends.

Known as “Re Giorgio” or King Giorgio, Armani was celebrated for reshaping the fashion landscape with his relaxed yet refined tailoring. He was known for personally overseeing every aspect of his work, from advertising campaigns to last-minute touches before models walked the runway. His absence from Milan Men’s Fashion Week in June, the first in his career, came as he recovered from an illness. Even during this period, Armani remained committed to his projects, continuing to steer a company that generated more than €2.3 billion annually.

Although he never married, Armani was devoted to his family, especially his niece Roberta, the daughter of his late brother Sergio. She gave up a film career to join the fashion house, eventually becoming its director of public relations. Roberta became a vital link between the brand and the celebrity world, famously organizing the 2006 wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, for which her uncle designed the couple’s wedding attire. Her presence highlighted the close family ties that ran alongside the vast global legacy Armani leaves behind.

Rajinikanth’s Coolie Continues To Roll: Film Passes Rs 400 Crore Worldwide Despite Dip In Collections! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Superstar Rajinikanth’s new release, Coolie, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, received thumping response at the box office on its opening, which is their first association together. Released on August 14, a day prior to Independence Day, the film managed to rake in the long weekend and soon marked new milestones both locally and internationally. But like most mass entertainers, Coolie too has seen a dramatic decline in collections post-opening weekend.

Box Office Performance: Strong Opening, Weekday Lull

According to industry monitor Sacnilk, Coolie raked in Rs 9.5 crore on day six, which was a significant fall from the Rs 12 crore it earned on Monday. The Monday number itself was a 65% drop compared to the weekend’s top collections. Nevertheless, the film crossed the Rs 200 crore mark locally, and its worldwide collection has crossed Rs 410 crore, going past its supposed budget of Rs 350–400 crore.

The major revenues of the film still keep coming from Tamil Nadu, while the Hindi dubbed version too has brought in decently. Nevertheless, Karnataka and the Telugu-speaking states have witnessed lukewarm support. If the momentum continues, Coolie is heading to become a possible replacement for Rajinikanth’s 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which earned more Rs 600 crore worldwide.

War 2 and Mixed Reviews Competition

Coolie made its entry along with War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, which was also slated to take over the box office. War 2’s performance has been disappointing in comparison, raking in Rs 8.2 crore on its sixth day and still short of the Rs 200 crore mark at home.

Rajinikanth’S Coolie Continues To Roll Film Passes Rs 400 Crore Worldwide Despite Dip In Collections! _Pic Courtesy Instagram

Even with the stellar numbers, Coolie has not been uniformly received. While Rajinikanth’s devout fans hailed the film, mainstream audiences and critics felt it was lacking in the depth and ingenuity one could expect from a Lokesh Kanagaraj effort. Cameos by A-listers Aamir Khan and Nagarjuna and an offbeat turn by Soubin Sahir were attempts to create a ‘pan-India’ appeal, though some thought it was at the expense of the ‘Superstar’s mass base.”.

What’s Next for Rajinikanth

After Coolie, Rajinikanth will be back in Jailer 2, the sequel to his blockbuster 2023 release, pairing up once again with director Nelson Dilipkumar. As fans await his next, Coolie is still running in theaters, looking to establish itself among the year’s highest-grossing Indian films.
