Kirsten Dunst and Channing Tatum Are Perfect Scene Partners

by jummy84 November 28, 2025
written by jummy84

The last time I spoke with Kirsten Dunst, for her work in Alex Garland’s 2024 pulse-pounder “Civil War,” it came with an unexpected coda: a win at the National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards for that story. So when I was on deck to interview Dunst again, alongside her “Roofman” co-star Channing Tatum, I pulled out the star-shaped award I received for the honor. No pressure for this interview, I joked.

“What’s it say?” Dunst asked, leaning forward to get a better look. “Well, it’s when we talked for ‘Civil War,’ and the name of my piece was Kirsten Dunst Is Our Most Reasonable Movie Star,” I told her.

Tatum beamed. “I like ‘reasonable,’ because that is right. If I ever really needed to get a real perspective on something, I would absolutely come to you,” he said, turning to his co-star. “I would 100 percent want to have your perspective, because I know it would be a reasonable one. On both sides! You wouldn’t just try to take my side.”

Dunst laughed and tried to demure. “No,” she said with a smile. “You would!” Tatum said. “You’d be like, ‘Well, you should probably look at this as well,’ and I’d be like, ‘Damn it. No, you’re right.’”

While Derek Cianfrance’s fact-based feature marks the first time Dunst and Tatum have starred together, the pair are longtime admirers of each other’s work. That admiration is obvious, even through the screen of a Zoom interview, as the pair comfortably traded stories (and compliments) about the other and how that respect and appreciation translated to 2025’s most charming onscreen pairing.

Dunst and Tatum don’t even really interact until the film is almost at its midway mark. Instead, we watch Tatum’s Jeffrey Manchester — based on a very real dude, who became infamous in the late ’90s for breaking into various fast food joints through the roof, then robbing them in quite respectful fashion — admire Dunst’s Leigh Wainscott from afar, kind of. Manchester’s crimes did catch up with him, and when he was thrown into prison in 2000, the way-too clever former soldier cooked up a daring escape, which eventually led him to a natty hiding spot: in a suburban Toys “R” Us.

In Cianfrance’s film, which he wrote alongside Kirt Gunn, Dunst’s Leigh works at that same Toys “R” Us (the real Wainscott didn’t). As Jeffrey carves out a strange (and sometimes fun) existence inside the store, he notices Leigh, a single mom with a sterling work ethic and a real sense of right and wrong. And when he just so happens to run into her at her local church (where the real Manchester and Wainscott met), their immediate chemistry turns into a warm romance.

In a film filled with insane details — most of them true! — Dunst and Tatum are so believable and so real that their bond turns a nutty true crime story into one of the year’s most unexpected crowdpleasers. The first step for both of them? Maybe some nerves about sharing the screen with someone they already liked so much.

“I saw ‘Interview with the Vampire,’ but I wasn’t an actor then, so I didn’t have that [feeling of], ‘I want to work with that little beast of a girl in that movie,’” Tatum said of the first time he remembered taking notice of Dunst. “That movie? She’s literally blowing [out of the water] two of the biggest movie stars and best actors of any generation … I don’t know how that little person just had that in them. She’s now just a little taller, and it’s the same fire in there.”

Dunst seemed to recognize Tatum’s range early, noting that she loved him in both “Foxcatcher” and “21 Jump Street.” “I knew working with Chan was going to be… I just knew,” she said. “I had a feeling about him, and I was right.” (Reasonable!)

Tatum credits Cianfrance for recognizing that his stars would vibe, both in front of and behind the camera.

“Derek really knew that Kirsten and I were just going to immediately connect and get each other,” Tatum said. “We’re very similar in a lot of ways, in the way that we approach the world or move through the world. He just knew, ultimately, that that was going to work, and then we’re just going to genuinely like each other. I think our acting style is very similar. Sometimes you work with people who are so aware of the camera and what they’re doing, and saving their really good stuff for the close-up. And it feels a little, I don’t want to say manipulated, because sometimes that really works. I don’t ever judge anybody’s process, because man, some people give incredible performances that way.”

Dunst was more to the point: “It’s selfish, really. I like to work with people that aren’t selfish actors,” she said. She didn’t need to worry about that with Tatum, who still beams when he thinks back to the first day the pair got to work together.

“If anything, they kept hiding us from each other during the prep for this movie,” Tatum said. “Derek really wanted the first time that we genuinely got to connect and really talk and meet each other [to be] on camera for the very first time, and that was the very first take of the Red Lobster scene. There’s, I don’t know, what, 14, 15 other actresses at that table? And Kirsten just became my safe space. I was so nervous to get to act with her, and then, take one, we just looked at each other for the very first time, and I was just like, ‘Oh, OK. Everything’s going to be OK.”

The scene in question follows Jeffery (going by the name “John Zorn”) and Leigh’s first official meeting, when she invites him to a post-church meal at a local Red Lobster with a bunch of other singletons (all women) from their congregation. Even at a big table in the middle of a chain restaurant, the pair’s giddy chemistry is obvious.

For Dunst, that scene felt “dorky and fun,” the start of something new for both of the characters. “I just had to feel like a woman who is blown away by this guy and trying to figure it out,” Dunst said. “I feel like she’s someone who hasn’t giggled genuinely in a while, or had these feelings that she’s feeling. It was just embracing your inner happiness.”

After the pair leave the restaurant, a blushing Leigh makes a bit of a move on Jeffrey, shyly asking him out on a date. It’s a light, lovely moment, built on the first flush of romance. “Just leaning into all that, because it makes it feel real,” Dunst said. “And that’s what Derek is always fishing for: the most real and authentic performances.”

“The real Jeff told me that Leigh was actually the one moving it forward,” Tatum added. “I think she pushed him against a van and kissed him first, and he was like, ‘Whoa! Jesus.’ Very forward and strong, and he liked it. And he’s goofy, so I get to be goofy in that scene, and the scene outside by the car is just really sweet. We don’t really know each other yet, so we were still trying to figure it out.”

[Editor’s note: Spoilers for the last act of “Roofman” follow.]

One of Dunst’s best scenes, at least by Tatum’s estimation, isn’t even in the final film. Jeffrey’s misdeeds and real identity are, of course, eventually found out. As the walls start closing in, Jeffrey starts to flee, heading to the airport and away from Leigh and her two daughters, who are expecting him for Christmas dinner. But when Leigh calls him, he can’t resist her gentle asks as to when she might expect him.

And though it’s not entirely clear to Jeffrey at that moment, as the audience, we get an inkling of what’s happening: Leigh has been tasked with bringing him back in. In the final film, we only see Tatum’s side of the conversation, but Dunst’s was also shot, with a cadre of cops around her, forcing her to trick the man she loves.

“God, one of Kirsten’s best-acted scenes in the movie, they’re all great, but there was this one,” Tatum said. “I watched the whole scene. I was there watching the scene, and it is just crushing. She’s getting interviewed by the real cops that actually arrested Jeffrey, and they were interviewing her like they would a real suspect, and she just nails this thing. It’s killer.”

The scene didn’t ultimately make it into the film, mostly because everyone agreed it gave too much away and detracted from the raw energy of what Tatum is experiencing in that moment. Dunst doesn’t get fussed about that sort of thing. Even if that scene is not in the film, the emotion is.

“The real Leigh was there that day,” Dunst said. “It didn’t bother me at all, although other people projected that it should bother me. But it didn’t at all. And I felt like, ‘Oh, we shared something in life, kind of’ in that moment for her.”

When Jeffrey arrives at Leigh’s apartment, we know what’s about to happen: He’s going to get caught. As a distraught Jeffrey is grabbed by the cops, a horrified and heartbroken Leigh sits unseen in a cop car, mere yards away. Dunst’s face in these moments is a revelation, her emotions so present, her expression so raw.

“I don’t really think about what I’m doing with my face, because then I probably would not be genuine,” she said of that scene. “I did listen to a Nina Simone song during that take. Sometimes, I look for other people’s performances, whether it’s a live performance [or something else], and that connects me to the realness of being a human being. I think your job is just to give your guts. You know what I mean? And so I just try and put myself in a place that feels authentic for myself, and I think that people can smell whether something feels genuine or not.”

Tatum nodded next to her. “‘Give your guts’! I love that. I’m stealing that,” he said.

Dunst chuckled. “Otherwise, what am I doing here? You know what I mean? It’s a job that I do,” she said. “I don’t think, ‘Oh, people are going to watch this and judge me.’ I don’t judge myself, I don’t judge… And you know what? If people don’t like me anymore, then I’ll go do something else. It’s like, I don’t know what to tell you. This is what you get.”

Tatum smiled at his co-star. “I think you’re good. I think they like it. I don’t think you have to do anything else.”

A Paramount Pictures release, “Roofman” is now available on digital platforms.

EXCLUSIVE: Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’s Parul Gulati Comments On Films Showing 1 Male With Multiple Female Partners

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Actress Parul Gulati – who is known for her performances in shows such P.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke, Haq Se, Selection Day, Girls Hostel and more, is all set to make her grand Bollywood debut. The actress will be seen playing one of the four leading ladies in the upcoming Kapil Sharma-led comedy film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2.

With just months left until the film releases in theatres, we exclusively spoke to Parul about her debut film. During the conversation, we quizzed her regarding the film featuring a polygamous relationship and whether she thinks they effects individuals in real life. Scroll below to read her replies.

Parul Gulati On Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 Showing A Polygamous Relationship

When asked if films like Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 hurt women if replicated in real life and if she thinks such films shouldn’t be made, Parul Gulati said, “I think it’s about how you tell the story. Comedy has always exaggerated situations to entertain. As long as the humour doesn’t come from putting women down, it’s fine. The world needs laughter, but also awareness.”

As seen in the promotional material released till now, the film sees Kapil Sharma’s character romancing four partners played by Tridha Choudhury, Parul Gulati, Ayesha Khan and Hira Warina.

On being asked her thoughts on people – both men and women – having multiple partners and hiding relationships, the actress replied, “It’s just not right in my opinion, one should have clarity if they want a committed relationship or just an open relationship (which I truly don’t understand why people sign up for it). But in my opinion, being loyal and committed to one person is so sexy.”

About KKPK 2

Written and directed by Anukalp Goswami, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 stars Kapil Sharma alongside Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhury, Parul Gulati, Manjot Singh and Ayesha Khan. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 12, 2025.

Event Tech Live partners with ReelFlow as the innovative interactive video platform joins the 2025 exhibitor lineup

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Event Tech Live (ETL) is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with ReelFlow, the interactive video platform transforming how event websites engage audiences. The ReelFlow team will be exhibiting at Event Tech Live on 12th & 13th November 2025 at Excel London.

Event websites face a familiar challenge: they need to serve multiple audiences – new and returning attendees exploring the agenda, sponsors and exhibitors evaluating opportunities and speakers preparing sessions. Static, text-heavy pages struggle to engage these visitors effectively, often leading to high drop-off before registration.

ReelFlow addresses this through interactive video experiences easily added to existing event websites. Attendees explore the agenda through guided video journeys showing relevant content based on their interests. Speakers introduce their sessions via short videos. Sponsors and exhibitors see exactly what value they’ll receive. Each visitor gets a self-guided video experience – whilst seeing and hearing from the real people behind the event.

The result: higher registration conversion, better-qualified attendees, and more engaged stakeholders. Event organisers can create these experiences in days rather than months, without specialist equipment or production expertise.

Adam Parry, co-founder of Event Tech Live, who has is using ReelFlow on the Event Tech Live website, shared:

“From the suggested flows and scripts, to the video creation and publishing – the entire process was super slick. Since going live, we’ve seen a strong interaction rate with ReelFlow on our site. Visitors are engaging with the content and spending more time exploring what the event offers. It’s helped us explain the event’s value in a way that static pages simply couldn’t.”

Chris Wickson, co-founder at ReelFlow, added:

“Event websites are critical touchpoints in the decision journey – potential attendees visit multiple times before committing to register. Each visit is an opportunity to build excitement, demonstrate value, and answer questions about what they’ll experience. We’re looking forward to showing the Event Tech Live community how interactive video can turn those visits into registrations, and help organisers create the engaging experiences their audiences expect.”

ReelFlow is particularly relevant for event organisers looking to improve registration conversion, better qualify attendees before the event, and create more engaging promotion experiences across their event website and landing pages.

Visit ReelFlow at Event Tech Live on 12th & 13th November 2025 at Excel London.

Sonequa Martin-Green Talks Danny and Lena's Future as Partners, Possible Romance for Lena

Sonequa Martin-Green Talks Danny and Lena’s Future as Partners, Possible Romance for Lena

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • In the latest Boston Blue episode, Danny Reagan decides to stay and work in Boston to be closer to his son Sean, solidifying his commitment after Sean’s hospitalization in the series premiere.
  • Sonequa Martin-Green teases how it will go for Danny and Lena now that he’s staying.
  • The star also shares the romance she’s hoping to see onscreen going forward.

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 2 “Teammates.”]

Even though Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) is still on loan from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department, if there were any doubts that Danny wouldn’t stay in Boston to hang with his son Sean (Mika Amonsen), that ended in this week’s episode. Seeing Sean comatose in the Boston Blue series premiere had really helped seal the deal. Not that Danny will ever lose his love of the Mets as he says to his son leaving the actual Fenway Park after a game: “It’s your first day on the job and the Mets win over the stinking Red Sox!” (In the episode, he is forced into a Red Sox shirt.)

There was more rivalry to come when Danny tries to convince Sean to be dominant in his partnership with fellow rookie Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner), who’s also the younger brother of Det. Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), his temporary partner, while Lena makes sure that Jonah “won’t get stuck in the sidekick zone.” Naturally, they each try to be Batman and not Robin, which causes a bit of friction like who chooses the music in the squad car, but also Jonah not being in position when they tried to catch a perp. As this is a Blue Bloods spinoff, they are fast friends at the episode’s end.

Though there will be tussles along the way no doubt, Danny and Lena, a.k.a. Brooklyn and Beantown, bonded almost immediately. Martin-Green says in the video above, “Apparently there’s a crazy feud between New York and Boston. I didn’t know! It’s fascinating that you have this Bostonian who played a New Yorker, going back to Boston and pretending he didn’t like Boston despite it’s where he’s from. It’s funny and Donnie laughs about it, too.”

The main storyline in the second episode brought Danny and Lena even closer, when the two detectives are pulled into the investigation of murdered whistleblower Winston Ballard, who DA Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben) was working with. The question was what happened to the whistleblower’s protective detail. The answer: One left to take care of a sick kid and the other was paid off by the eventual killer.

Various criminals wanted to prevent Ballard’s testimony about a Ponzi scheme but there were more deaths to come when the wealthy gangster who ran the scheme with Ballard got shot through a window right in front of Danny and Lena, ”the second person who died in my arms this week,” as Danny put it, not happily. In the end, a victim of the gangster and whistleblower’s who lost all his money killed them while his sister, Ballard’s widow, Naomi, was arrested as an accessory to murder.

The episode ends with Danny’s decision to try living and working in Boston. As he tells Sean, he and his girlfriend, Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), will figure things out, “and the family understands.”

Does that mean that Danny and Lena are permanent partners going forward? Martin-Green carefully says, with a laugh, “Danny Reagan transition from the NYPD to the BPD is a very interesting storypoint, and we will be exploring it.”

There might be another interesting romance in the future, says Martin-Green. Her real-life husband, Kenric Green, plays DA Silver’s chief of staff, introduced in this episode. The couple, says the actress, both tease maybe their characters should get together. “We will see them together in Episode 8,” she shares.

Watch the full video interview above for more from Sonequa Martin-Green.

‘Boston Blue’ Stars’ Real-Life Partners and Relationship History: Sonequa Martin-Green and More

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

A new chapter of Blue Bloods has arrived. Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) is headed north to the Boston Police Department in the brand-new CBS series Boston Blue.

Danny has a new partner in Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), but don’t think original Blue Bloods fans have forgotten about Danny and Baez’s (Marisa Ramirez) whole will-they-or-won’t-they situation. (We definitely have not.) Will Baez make her way to Boston at some point? That remains to be seen.

Banijay Asia Taking Talpa Studio Formats to India and Thailand

Banijay Asia has inked a two-year pact with Dutch production group Talpa Studios to represent its diverse portfolio of unscripted formats in India and Thailand.

Talpa Studios’ portfolio includes hits such as “The Floor,” “The Quiz with Balls,” “The Alliance” and “Most Wanted.”

Banijay Asia will offer Talpa Studios’ shows and creative concepts to broadcasters and streaming platforms across India and Thailand with the aim to localize, adapt and produce the IPs for regional audiences.

Deepak Dhar, founder and CEO of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, said the deal “allows us to introduce some truly exciting concepts to India and Thailand. We look forward to collaborating closely with Talpa Studios to bring these ideas alive for our audiences with our signature local flavour and scale.”

“Asia is an exciting and fast-evolving market for unscripted entertainment, and working with Banijay Asia allows us to connect our creative ideas with local audiences,” added Talpa Studios CEO Maarten Meijs. “Their proven ability to translate global formats into distinctive local hits makes them a perfect partner to represent our catalogue in the region.”

Talpa Studios’ New Quiz Show ‘Caught in the Middle’ Commissioned in Netherlands, Australia

In related news, Talpa Studios’ latest quiz show, “Caught in the Middle,” is making its debut in the Netherlands and Australia. Dutch broadcaster SBS6 and Australia’s Seven Network have ordered local versions, with the Australian edition produced by Eureka Productions (a Fremantle company) in partnership with Talpa Studios.

Both editions will be filmed in Talpa Studios’ international production hub. The Dutch version is set to premiere on SBS6 in January 2026, while Seven will announce its scheduling at a later date.

Created by John de Mol’s Talpa Studios, “Caught in the Middle” pits a duo against 100 opponents. The duo stands at the center of a giant LED arena surrounded by a hundred opponents. Over the course of 15 questions, they must outsmart the crowd by picking answers that match as many rivals as possible – knocking them out one by one before the opponents reach the middle and claim the €50,000 ($57,780) jackpot for themselves.

“We’re thrilled to introduce this bold new format to Australian audiences,” said Angus Ross, Seven Group managing director for TV. “It’s fresh, unpredictable and brimming with suspense and drama – everything you want in a hit quiz show.”

Nippon TV‘s “Red Carpet Survival” Season 2 Unrolls in Italy via Prime Video

Nippon TV’s unscripted format “Red Carpet Survival” will return for a second season in Italy next year, adapted as “Red Carpet, Vip al tappeto” on Prime Video.

“Red Carpet Survival” is a celebrity-driven game show that combines glamour, comedy and high-stakes challenges. In each episode, a VIP is escorted down a red carpet by three comedic bodyguards, facing a series of physical and mental challenges designed to test their wit, courage and improvisational skills.

If the celebrity steps off the red carpet even for a moment, one of the bodyguards is lost; whether the VIP can complete the long walk down the red carpet without losing the bodyguards is the challenge. The episode culminates in a sprint to the limousine, overcoming hazards such as moving obstacles, water attacks and even pigeon droppings. The team that first manages to escort its star to the final destination without a hitch wins.

Produced by Blu Yazmine for Amazon MGM Studios and based on a Nippon TV format, the show was successfully adapted in Italy in 2025 as “Red Carpet, Vip al tappeto” on Prime Video.

According to Nippon TV, Italy’s Season 2 will feature new celebrity guests, including the country’s top entertainers and social media personalities, “bringing fresh energy and star power to the show, along with exclusive challenges that are bigger, bolder and even more entertaining than before. The taping will take place in a surprising new location and the awaited premiere is scheduled for 2026.”

“The Italian adaptation of ‘Red Carpet Survival’ highlights Nippon TV’s strategy to bring premium formats to global viewers,” added Sayako Aoki, Nippon TV’s head of international sales. “By partnering with Blu Yazmine, experienced in format adaptation and creating prime entertainment, we hope to offer Italian audiences even more exciting experiences than the first season in a brand-new location with visually fun missions.”

The Directors of The Showman’s Show, Jeremy & Johnny Lance, are excited to announce a new partnership for the 2025 show with Grid Faeries x Ecotricity, who will be using their 1-megawatt battery to supply sustainable energy to The Showman’s Show show’s custom built Exhibition Hall.

Grid Faeries, founded by Dale Vince OBE and Claire O’Neill in partnership with Ecotricity, is dedicated to transforming the way festivals and outdoor events are powered. The company delivers renewable energy solutions through onsite battery power, while also working towards permanent grid connections and exploring new localised green generation projects.

Grid Faeries x Ecotricity batteries have had a busy year, powering the Arcadia Dragonfly stage at Glastonbury, the Charlie Gillett stage at WOMAD, Massive Attack’s stage on Clifton Downs, Bristol, and APE and LIDO in Victoria Park.

Claire O’Neill, CEO and Co-founder said: “We’re pleased to be powering The Showman’s Show with our Grid Faeries battery packed with power from the wind and the sun. Our aim is to get the diesel out of live events – powering the show all about shows is a great chance to reach the audience we need to. First, we take out the diesel generators then we connect to the grid – that’s the mission.”

Johnny Lance states that “The Showman’s Show prides itself in being a platform to showcase new ideas and innovations.  This partnership not only will help us as an organiser meet our sustainability goals but also provides an opportunity for event organisers and suppliers to see this service in action and come and speak to the team at Grid Faeries to learn more”.

The Showman’s Show is held at Newbury Showground on the 22nd & 23rd of October.  It is free to attend.
