Arlo Parks Debuting New Songs At Club Shows

London-reared, L.A.-based musician Arlo Parks will play her first shows in more than a year next month, during which she plans to debut some fresh songs and other surprises.

“I’ve spent the past few years in the studio exploring new sonic palettes, world building and experimenting,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’ve always wanted to show people the workings out of my music, so [longtime collaborator] Baird and I will be bringing our studio setup to the stage for a journey through old and new material. I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been dreaming up, face to face, in three cities that mean a lot to me. Don’t miss out. It’s gonna be magic.”

Parks will play Nov. 27 at Bath House in London, Dec. 2 at Silo in New York and Dec. 5 at Melt in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale Wednesday (Nov. 12) but fans must sign up through this link for access.

The artist has been off the road while working on the follow-up to 2023’s U.K. top 10 hit My Soft Machine, which is expected to move in a more electronic- and dance-oriented direction than on past projects. One new song, “New Desire,” was posted on YouTube last week and can be sampled below.

“This little idea was born out of a late late night session with Baird,” Parks said of the tune, which was inspired by a voice note “that made me feel like a teenager again — tender with new magic. I wanted to put my heart on the line and write it how it felt.”

South Park's Trey Parker Says "Politics Became Pop Culture"

South Park’s Trey Parker Says “Politics Became Pop Culture”

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

This season, South Park has drawn attention for repeatedly targeting President Donald Trump and his administration. In an interview with The New York Times, however, co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker clarified that this wasn’t intentional, but rather a byproduct of the times.

“It’s not that we got all political,” Parker said. “It’s that politics became pop culture.” Stone added that they were also “attracted to” the idea that speaking out against the administration had become “taboo.”

According to the creative duo, they didn’t decide to take on the US president until after their deal with Paramount was delayed by a merger between Paramount and Skydance that required the Trump administration’s approval.

“We just had to show our independence somehow,” Stone explained. Parker added that the Trump parody was meant to be a one-off: “We basically start with a song and we don’t know where the album’s going to take us.”

And while Stone and Parker have frequently discussed returning to their regular style of programming, they realized there is “no getting away” from MAGA.

“It’s like the government is just in your face everywhere you look,” Parker said. “Whether it’s the actual government or whether it is all the podcasters and the TikToks and the YouTubes and all of that, and it’s just all political and political because it’s more than political. It’s pop culture.”

The ratings success likely factored into their decision-making as well, with viewership over the past four months more than doubling South Park’s previous season in 2023.

According to Stone, they haven’t gotten any pushback from Skydance founder David Ellison, who took over as chairman and CEO of Paramount after the two companies merged in August. A recent Variety report noted that Ellison has helped push Paramount toward cultivating closer ties with the Trump administration.

Parker also emphasized that he and Stone are still “down-the-middle guys,” unafraid to satirize both sides of the political spectrum. “Any extremists of any kind we make fun of. We did it for years with the woke thing. That was hilarious to us. And this is hilarious to us.”

Legendary acts that have performed at the park include The Rolling Stones (1982), Genesis (1987), Madonna (1987), Michael Jackson (1988), U2 (1997) and Ed Sheeran (2019). “As with all our events, we are committed to delivering the very best in every aspect, from welcoming some of the greatest artists in the world, to creating an unforgettable fan experience, and upholding industry-leading sustainability standards.

“We are determined to bring value to the park, the city, and the wider region. By working closely with local people and businesses, we aim to create a festival that everyone in Leeds can be proud of.”

Councillor James Lewis, leader of Leeds City Council, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that we are working with AEG to bring some of the biggest names in music to Roundhay Park once again.

“The park is a fabulous setting for concerts, as legendary artists like Madonna, U2 and the Rolling Stones will know from their own fondly-remembered appearances there.

“It’s also a much-loved part of the fabric of life in Leeds, so it’s fitting that this event will be doing as much as possible to support local vendors, suppliers and staff. AEG’s commitment to the highest standards of sustainability is another very welcome plus point for us.

“Roundhay Festival will act as a wonderful showcase for our city, raising its profile with national and international audiences while delivering an important boost to the local economy. I’m sure music fans, not just in Leeds but across the region and beyond, will agree with me when I say ‘roll on next summer’.”

Comedy Central has temporarily removed the South Park episode “Got a Nut,” the second episode of the show’s ongoing Season 27, from cable rotation following the killing of Charlie Kirk.

According to Newsweek, Comedy Central was scheduled to rerun “Got a Nut” Wednesday night as part of a block that was airing all three available episodes of Season 27. They ultimately pulled the episode, which satirized Kirk via Eric Cartman, from the schedule in the wake of the political figure’s death.

Comedy Central, Paramount, and the South Park team all have yet to comment, but confirmed the episode will remain absent from cable for the time being, as reported by the New York Post.

Notably, “Got a Nut” remains available to stream on both Paramount+ and YouTube TV.

‘RHOA’ Alum Kandi Burruss Shuts Down Phaedra Parks Reunion Talk + Defends Kenya Moore Following Controversial Series Exit

Stop holding up the prayer line for #KandiBurruss and #PhaedraParks to work things out! ?

Speaking with #KekePalmer for her Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, Kandi once again shut down any chances of a reunion with her former bestie, Phaedra. She also shared that Phaedra has never tried to reach out following their viral fallout, noting: “We just don’t speak.”

During the chat, Kandi also stood ten toes down behind her support of #KenyaMoore. As you may recall, the salon owner parted ways with #Bravo last season after sharing explicit images of newcomer #BritEady. The crazy ordeal was retaliation after Brit threatened her with a firearm. Brit eventually filed a lawsuit against the network, and, according to reports, Kenya wasn’t asked to return for season 17.
