Jack White, Daughter Scarlett White at Paris Fashion Week

Jack White has fully stepped into the 21st century.

Just a few months after getting his first cell phone The White Stripes frontman reached another major milestone: making his TikTok debut. And he did so at the behest of his and ex-wife Karen Elson’s daughter Scarlett, 19.

In the Oct. 4 video shared by Scarlett—which she captioned “Meet the Parents”— the model stands in the middle of her parents before pressing record on the video as Prince’s “When Doves Cry” plays. As Jack stands with his arms cross slowly dancing and smirking, Karen and Scarlett lip-synch the words while they dance.

Giving the world a look at exactly how long it took the trio to get the perfect shot, Scarlett wrote alongside the video, “this was the 20th take.”

For his part, the “Seven Nation Army” singer—who also shares son Henry, 18, with Karen—used the video to congratulate his daughter after she made her Paris Fashion Week debut walking in the Ann Demeulemeester’s presentation Oct. 4.

Meghan Markle Doubles Down on a Massive Fall Trend at Paris Fashion Week Debut

Meghan Markle was a real surprise at the debut of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s debut for Balenciaga.

Although she has been a fixture at New York Fashion Week—during her time as an actor on Suits, she frequently attended shows by Tory Burch, Peter Som, Wes Gordon and Misha Nonoo, among others—this was her first time on the Parisian fashion circuit. Since her marriage to Prince Harry and her flirtation with royal engagements in 2020, Markle has taken a step back from the fashion world of more philanthropic appearances.

Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Balenciaga debut generated so much buzz that Meghan Markle didn’t hesitate to travel from Montecito to the City of Light for the occasion. She wore an outfit consisting of a white shirt, suit pants, black stilettos—a classic of the brand—and a luxe white cape that wrapped her in a subtle and elegant way.

bitchy | Duchess Meghan stepped out for the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week

In the past two years, there have been HUGE reshuffles at nearly every major fashion house. It’s a pretty crazy moment for fashionistas and people who study the fashion industry. During Paris Fashion Week, many of the new creative directors of the most recognizable brands in the world gave their debut collections. One of those new chief creatives? Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first-ever collection for Balenciaga after 16 years at Valentino.

The Duchess of Sussex loved wearing Piccioli’s Valentino designs, and on Saturday, she stepped out for her first-ever Paris Fashion Week to attend his debut collection with Balenciaga. I’m assuming that the Balenciaga team styled Meghan, because that’s how most of these “celebrity appearances” at fashion shows work – you get to wear something fresh from the runway and the designers’ stylists want everything to look on-theme. Meghan wore all-white – elegant white trousers, a billowy white button-down and a white cape. She also wore black pumps and carried a black bag. I’m assuming the shoes and bag are Balenciaga as well – Balenciaga has always done some majorly coveted handbags, and I hope they’re prepared for the Meghan Sussex bump. From Hello! Mag:

Meghan, who teased her arrival in the French capital with an Instagram story overlaid with the French track “Viens on essaie” by Vitaa and Julien Doré, was there “in support Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently assumed the role of Creative Director for the House”, a spokesman for Meghan tells HELLO!.

“Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage. She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different,” said the spokesman. “This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga.”

[From Hello]

Nice. As I’m writing this, I’ve completely avoided the British tabloid coverage of this. I assume that it will take them a good 12 hours to get their talking points from the palace. What else?? As Vogue pointed out, while this is Meghan’s first-ever appearance at Paris Fashion Week, in her pre-Sussex era, she attended shows at New York Fashion Week, including the runways for Tory Burch, Peter Som, Wes Gordon and Misha Nonoo. Meghan also ran into Anna Wintour at the show and Anna sounded very, very pleased to see Meghan in Paris. American Vogue cover WHEN?? It’s honestly past time for an American Vogue cover. PS… Meghan stepped out in black after the show!!

Glenn Martens Makes His RTW Debut at Maison Margiela in Paris

by jummy84 October 5, 2025
written by jummy84

To the sound of a 61-piece children’s orchestra (the entirety of which was dressed in dramatically oversized Maison Margiela tuxedos) playing perfectly imperfect renditions of Symphony No. 40 and Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Glenn Martens debuted his first co-ed ready-to-wear collection for the Belgian fashion house during Paris Fashion Week. The presentation arrived just three months after the former Diesel creative director showcased his inaugural Artisanal (otherwise referred to as haute couture) collection for Margiela back in July. That collection wasn’t for the faint of heart, though at a brand like this one, it was never supposed to be immediately digestible. It was the kind of couture offering that makes you think, sending chills down your spine once you do.

For spring/summer 2026, though, Martens took a simpler approach, continuing some themes from his couture debut, but executing them in a much more pared-back and even practical fashion (see Margiela-ized basics, like trench coats, slip dresses, and leather jackets). He started the show with wearable silhouettes made of denim and leather—all of which were accented with four-stitch mouthpieces resembling the brand’s signature non-logo—before eventually leading showgoers toward some more experimental designs. Classic Margiela staples made their return, including the Margiela Futures, a high-top sneaker that got a modern update for 2026, as well as the Tabi Claw, which was first seen in the Artisanal 2025 collection, but has now made its RTW debut with a futuristic plexiglass wedge heel (worn by Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner at the show). A new version of the Box Bag is also coming soon, with a softer, slouchier look that’s sure to become a staple come spring.

For more on Martens’ first Maison Margiela ready-to-wear collection, keep scrolling.

Pieces For Everyone

Like the music playing, there were moments of calm serenity throughout the designer’s sartorial unveiling this season, as well as louder, more stimulating components. According to a press release, “concepts and proposals for real life” were the main focus. Tailoring was presented in a handful of different ways, in denim as well as more classic wool, always with touches that feel inherently Margiela. A white button-down shirt was styled with jeans and boots, while a slip dress with tiny lace details was worn with a leather motorcycle jacket. The first 25 or so looks saw a muted color palette be prioritized, and then suddenly, there was a switch. As the collection slowly approached a crescendo, vibrant colors and patterns began to appear on Martens’ models. Dresses with uneven hems were printed with clashing floral patterns that were designed to look like peeling 16th-century wallpaper (a concept first introduced in the F/W 25 Artisanal collection), which were seen throughout the latter half of the show, as was “plasticisation,” another design technique from couture that was used to make statuesque bodices out of tape. The collection as a whole had moments for everyone, from subdued basics done the Margiela way to gowns designed to evoke a range of emotions.

Margiela Mouthpieces

The orchestra’s conductor wore a Maison Margiela suit adorned on the upper back with the house’s signature four-stitch “logo,” a motif that showed up on every single one of the models who walked the show—but not in the way anyone could have expected. Whether it’s on a sweater or a jacket, we usually see the symbol in the same place: the back of the neck. For S/S 26, though, it was seen in the form of almost surgical-looking mouthpieces. According to the show notes, they were used to give models a “uniformity of expression” in order to continue Maison Margiela’s long-standing emphasis on anonymity.

In With the Slouch Bag

There’s a new bag coming to the Belgian house, and it’s a hit in the making. A new take on the Box Bag, the slouchy shoulder bag has sharp edges that give it a unique look. Even better, it features an ornamental metal trim in brushed silver, giving the bag an antique appeal in today’s sea of modern handbag shapes. According to the show notes, the Box Bag can instantly be made into a clutch by tucking the straps inside.

Kim and Kylie Take the Front Row

It was a great day for celebrity sightings in Paris on Saturday, with Meghan Markle making her Paris Fashion Week debut at Balenciaga, Ina Garten and her Kelly sitting front row at Hermès, and Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner reuniting at Maison Margiela. Kardashian, who debuted her new pixie cut at Alaïa earlier that day, donned a gray trench coat, a collar necklace, and leather boots with a PVC heel. Her younger sister’s look was a little less subdued, wearing a sheer camisole and matching tights made of paper (!), which were tucked into a pair of sharp Tabi wedges.
