Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather appears to be in a season of self-reflection.

The 25-year-old daughter of #FloydMayweather and Melissa Brim recently took to X to open up about her past behavior and controversies, including the 2020 stabbing incident involving Lapattra Jacobs, the mother of one of rapper #NBAYoungBoy’s children. Kicking things off, Yaya said, “I’m not just this dumb delusional girl who lives a perfect life. …I’ve been through and I go through things just like anybody else.” She continued, “I apologize to my family, more specifically my father and mother, if any of my actions over the years have embarrassed you or affected you in any way.”

Although she claimed “self-defense” in the X posts, Yaya also extended an apology to Lapattra. The crazy altercation took place at YoungBoy’s home. Yaya, who shares a child with the rapper, was later charged and ultimately pleaded guilty to aggravated a$$ault with a deadly weapon. She received a six-year probationary sentence. In one of her final posts, she added, “I want to right my wrongs while I’m still here and able to, and I want y’all to see the real me and not this f*cked up perception.”

Yaya Mayweather is seemingly taking accountability for her public image! It’s unclear what inspired her to speak out this week, but she cleared the air in a series of social media posts. Yaya apologized to anyone she’s hurt over the years with her actions, especially her parents, Floyd Mayweather and Melissa Brim. She also took a moment to apologize to one of NBA YoungBoy‘s many co-parents, Lapattra Lashai Jacobs. In 2020, Yaya faced criminal and civil cases after stabbing Jacobs inside YoungBoy’s home.

Yaya Mayweather Addresses “Delusional” & “Entitled” Critiques 

NBA YoungBoy kicked off his ‘MASA’ tour at the top of September. Since then, Yaya Mayweather has been the talk of headlines and social media reactions. From popping up at his shows to sneak dissing his marriage with Jazlyn Mychelle and even clapping back at Jazlyn’s mom. Through it all, fans have been giving Yaya the side eye. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mayweather shut down the narrative that she’s a “dumb delusional girl who lives a perfect life.” In total, she shared five tweets.

“I am very blessed yes I understand that but I’ve been through and I go through things just like anybody else, obviously my struggle looks different than the next person’s…and that’s ok,” Yaya Mayweather said in the first post. In the second post, she said, “I’m a young woman that’s growing yes I’ve made mistakes along away, but I’m striving to be better everyday. I apologize if over the years y’all haven’t perceived me in the best way.”

Her fourth post also addressed the “entitled spoiled little rich girl” critique. While she denied that’s who she is, she admitted to being “a little mean.” However, she said she’s trying “to be better,” especially for her son KJ.

“I want to right my wrongs while I’m still here and able to, and I want y’all to see the real me and not this f**ked up perception,” she wrote.

Yaya Says Floyd & Melissa Brim Raised Her “Right”

In her third tweet out of five, Yaya shared an apology for Floyd Mayweather and Melissa Brim. “I apologize to my family more specifically my father & mother if any of my actions over the years have embarrassed you or affected you in anyway,” she wrote. In her last tweet, she clarified that her parents aren’t always aligned with her actions.

“I have amazing parents, my parents raised me right. til this day my parents STILL parent me… and don’t get it misconstrued some of the choices i made don’t define how my parents raised me because believe me they don’t play a lot of sh*t… and they haven’t since i was a kid,” Yaya Mayweather wrote.

Neither Floyd or Melissa have responded to Yaya’s tweets. However, both parents got a lil’ online attention last month after Yaya posted a photo of them. Social media popped off after a social media user threw some shade about Yaya and her mother’s loyalty to NBA YoungBoy and Floyd Mayweather, respectively.

 

Mayweather Briefly Mentions Lapattra Lashai Jacobs In Apology

In her first tweet mentioning her parents—the third overall—Yaya also named a woman she previously beefed with: Lapattra Lashai Jacobs.

“…And to anyone I may have hurt over the years I apologize, including Lapattra Jacobs… even though yes it was self defense I apologize,” Mayweather wrote.

According to NBC News, Yaya pled guilty in 2022 to “unlawfully, intentionally and unknowingly” hurting Jacobs with a knife. The incident happened in April 2020 while Jacobs was visiting NBA YoungBoy’s home. She and the rapper share a young child. After the incident, Jacobs underwent surgery for non life-threatening injuries from the stabbing. Mayweather was arrested and released the same day after posting a $30,000 bond. In December 2022, she got a deferred adjudication of guilt and a six-year probation sentence. She avoided jail time, had to complete 40 hours of community service, and was banned from harassing or threatening Lapattra, per XXL.

In December 2020, Lapattra got a protective order against Yaya. Eventually, she also sued Yaya for physical pain, mental anguish, physical impairment, medical costs, loss of earnings and disfigurement. It’s unclear how that civil case played out.

The former Saturday Night Live star is in the midst of a lengthy process of getting rid of over 200 individual inkings from all over his body but he plans to keep designs inspired by The Sopranos, as well as two poignant designs he had for his mom, Amy Waters Davidson, and late father Scott Davidson, a firefighter who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York.

He told Entertainment Tonight: “I got all these tattoos, so my mom was like, ‘How come you’ve never gotten a “Mom” tattoo?Now I have a tattoo that just says ‘MOMTATTOO.’ That one has to stay…

“I have my dad’s ID [number], and that’s pretty much it.”

Pete – who is expecting his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt – began the 10-year removal process in 2020 and admitted he is hoping to serve as a warning to other people because the procedure isn’t very comfortable.

He said: “It’s awful. I’ve been filming it and showing all the younger people in my family to be like, ‘If you don’t like it, this is what you have to do.’

“But I’m excited ‘cause I’m making changes. So I’m excited, but it sucks.”

The 31-year-old comic previously explained he views getting his tattoos removed as a fresh start after overcoming addition.

He told Variety: “I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up.

“So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain. When I look in the mirror, I don’t want the reminder of ‘Oh yeah, you were a f******drug addict. Like, that’s why you have SpongeBob smoking a joint on your back.”

The King of Staten Island star has spentmore than $200,000 having them removed.

He admitted: “It’s a pretty uncomfortable amount of money to disclose, but I think one of the tabloids already leaked it.

“I’ve already spent like 200k and I’m like 30 per cent done. So, like, it’s gonna suck … My arms are pretty much gone, and my hands and neck are gone. But I still have to do my torso and back.”

Bengaluru cardiologist explains 2 categories of heart problems in childhood all parents need to know

Heart diseases are rising at an unprecedented rate, especially in young adults. But heart diseases don’t spare young children either. To understand the cardiovascular dangers, HT Lifestyle spoke to Dr Chandan Saurav Mahapatro, consultant, interventional cardiology at Manipal Hospital, Hebbal, Bengaluru. While one may think that heart problems may be a middle-aged concern, Dr Mahapatro shed light on an alarming reality and said, “Heart problems are not age-related. Even children get affected by serious heart problems.”

In children, heart issues are classified, as the cardiologist noted, into congenital heart defects and lifestyle-driven heart issues. As a parent, it is important to know about these categories and the signs to seek immediate medical care.

Congenital heart defects (CHD)

The first category of heart issues children are afflicted by is congenital heart defects. Describing the causes, the cardiologist shared, “These are structural defects in the heart and are present right at birth. These conditions are not usually caused by lifestyle or parenting choices.”

Genetics play a big role in shaping congenital heart defects. “They are mostly caused due to genetic issues, or due to issues during fetal development, such as maternal illness (rubella), certain medications during pregnancy, poorly controlled diabetes, alcohol use, or family history,” Dr Mahapatro said.

The health issues or lifestyle factors a mother may experience during pregnancy can influence fetal development, leading to structural defects in the heart. Structural defect here means a physical problem in the heart’s very anatomy, how the heart is formed. When the heart’s shape or structure is not normal, blood flow or basic functions may be affected.

But the severity in early years is rare, as only 1 per cent of babies with CHD require surgery within the first year of life, as per the cardiologist. Mild cases only require medications and medical care.

Dr Mahapatro explained some of the common warning signs of CHD parents should know, “Some of the warning signs of CHDs include rapid breathing, bluish skin (cyanosis), difficulty feeding, stunted growth and poor weight gain.”

Lifestyle-driven heart issues

The second category is lifestyle-driven heart issues.“Lifestyle-driven heart issues develop over time, often as a result of modern living. Poor eating habits, lack of physical activity, rising childhood obesity, and even stress can contribute to high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, and early signs of heart disease in young people,” Dr Mahapatro said.

In other words, not all heart problems are inherited or present from birth; some develop because of poor lifestyle choices.

While CHD requires urgent care, lifestyle-driven heart problems pose bigger risks in adulthood. “Lifestyle-driven heart problems may not cause immediate concerns like CHDs; they build risk gradually, leading to serious complications during adulthood,” the cardiologist warned.

He emphasised that parents should encourage children to stay physically active and eat nutritionally balanced meals to protect heart health.

The Coldplay singer and his Goop founder ex-wife – who have Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19, together – made sure to raise their children with a strong work ethic, which has made them “grateful” for opportunities in life.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, Apple said: “I constantly remind myself how grateful I am to have these opportunities.

“I know this is not a normal way to grow up by any means.

“But my parents did a really good job of instilling in me that I shouldn’t be entitled to anything. I have to work.”

Apple – who is studying law, history and society at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee – has joined Self Portrait for a new fashion campaign, having appeared for Chanel at Paris Fashion Week and posed with her Hollywood star mother for GapStudio.

However, by the time she turned 16 she had already started working in a clothes shop.

Back in 2020, her dad Chris told Ellen DeGeneres: “It’s her first job, and she’s about to be 16 and she’s making her way in the world and I’m so proud of her.”

Now, Apple has admitted she is doing what she can to have “a normal college experience”.

She told the newspaper: “Hanging out with my friends and trying to have a normal college experience makes me feel more normal.

“That’s how I like to unwind. We’ll sit down and do little guitar playing sessions, one person will play and the others will sing.

“I also love watching reality TV with my friends. There was one day we spent five hours on the couch and just watched old episodes of America’s Next Top Model.”

Grammy-winning artist D’Angelo has died at the age of 51 in New York City following a prolonged battle with cancer. According to PEOPLE, the legendary soul singer had been hospitalized for several months and spent the last two weeks in hospice care.

His family confirmed the news in a statement released on Tuesday.

“The shining star of our family has dimmed his light for us in this life,” the singer’s family said. “After a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer, we are heartbroken to announce that Michael D’Angelo Archer, known to his fans around the world as D’Angelo, has been called home, departing this life today, October 14th, 2025.”

Relationship with Angie Stone

In the late ’90s, D’Angelo was in a four-year relationship with fellow soul singer Angie Stone. The two welcomed a son, Michael D’Angelo Archer II, in 1998.

Stone passed away on March 1 this year at the age of 63 following a car accident.

Son speaks out

Their son, Michael Jr., spoke out publicly for the first time since both of his parents’ deaths.

“I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers during these very difficult times, as it has been a very rough and sad year for me,” Michael told PEOPLE in a statement Tuesday. “I ask that you please continue to keep me in your thoughts as it will not be easy, but one thing that both my parents taught me was to be strong, and I intend to do just that.”

A source close to the family told PEOPLE that Michael Jr. had remained by his father’s side during his final days.

“People are really worried about Mike right now,” the source said, noting that the 27-year-old has “been through a lot in such a short amount of time.”

Though Diane shares the same last name as Michael Keaton, the actor known for films like Birdman, she isn’t related to the 74-year-old. She was born Diane Hall and took her mother’s maiden name – Keaton – because a Diane Hall was already registered with the Actors Guild, as per IMDb.

Diane Hall was born in Los Angeles in January 1945. Her mother, Dorothy Deanne was a homemaker and amateur photographer. Her father, John Newton Ignatius “Jack” Hall, was a real estate broker and civil engineer.
