Charlie Kirk’s producer calls on Paramount to reinstate ‘South Park’ Parody episode, saying he “loved that he was featured”

The executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show has called on Paramount to reinstate the South Park episode that parodied him.

After the conservative commentator was murdered last week (September 10), the August 6 episode of South Park was pulled from re-run schedules.

That episode saw the character Eric Cartman becoming a conservative commentator who debates students in college campuses, mimicking Kirk’s hairstyle and mannerisms. The episode also featured a prize called the Charlie Kirk Award for Young Masterdebaters.

Now, Andrew Kolvet, Kirk’s executive producer, has urged the network to reinstate the episode.

“As someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in ‘South Park,’” Kolvet said in an X post on Wednesday. “He told me many times. He would want the episode back up.”

Hey @paramountplus, as someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in South Park. He told me many times. He would want the episode back up.

MAGA supporters have also blamed the show for Kirk’s shooting, with some suggesting the August 6 episode directly influenced the shooter’s actions. Currently, there is no evidence to suggest the shooting was motivated by the episode.

“Trey Parker and Matt Stone have blood on their hands. Remove South Park from all streaming services” wrote one person, while another added: “South Park certainly fomented the hatred necessary to get Kirk assassinated.”

Season 27 of the show has aimed the majority of its jokes at the Trump administration, depicting the US President as being in a relationship with Satan and also having a micro penis.

The White House has previously condemned the depiction of President Trump and his allies in a statement, remarking that the show “hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years.” The show’s creators responded with a mocking apology at San Diego Comic Con in late July.

Yesterday (September 18), the latest episode of South Park – which will be the first since Kirk’s death – was delayed just hours before it was scheduled to air. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone explained that it was their own fault: “Apparently when you do everything at the last minute sometimes you don’t get it done. This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and South Park fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!”

The delay marks only the second time in South Park‘s lengthy run that an episode has missed its production schedule – the first time took place in 2013 due to a power outage.

Walmart+ Membership Comes With Peacock, Paramount+: Sign Up Online

Walmart is continuing to make its way into the streaming space. The retailer is expanding its five-year-old Walmart+ program with a new entertainment twist: members can now choose between Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential, included at no additional cost with their annual or monthly membership. The move places Walmart+ squarely in the middle of the ever-evolving streaming landscape, giving subscribers access to a major platform without having to tack on another bill.

The retail giant has steadily layered benefits onto Walmart+ since its 2020 launch — from free delivery on grocery and general merchandise orders over $35, to next-day and two-day shipping on Walmart.com with no order minimum, to savings on fuel at Exxon, Mobil, Walmart, Murphy stations and Sam’s Club. Now, by integrating streaming into its bundle, Walmart is positioning its membership as not just a shopping convenience, but a lifestyle membership that covers entertainment as well as household needs.

The streaming add-on arrives at a moment when consolidation is reshaping the media landscape. To maintain a competitive edge, both Paramount+ and Peacock have grown their streaming lineups with some of the buzziest film and show titles, live events and cable news offerings.

Peacock continues to roll out original series alongside NBCUniversal’s robust live sports lineup, in addition to complete seasons and new next-day episodes from NBC and Bravo, and an expansive library of beloved films and TV shows. Paramount+, meanwhile, offers exclusive access to original series, blockbuster movies, a mix of new releases and timeless favorites from CBS, Nickelodeon, and more, along with live sports such as the UEFA Champions League.

Walmart+ remains priced at $98 /year or $12.95/month, with a 30-day free trial available. Plus, members must re-select their preferred streaming service every 90 days, meaning they can oscillate between Peacock or Paramount+ depending on their preferred shows and films at any given time.

Paramount Denounces Boycott of Israeli Film Institutions

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

To date, over 4,000 actors, directors, and other members of the film and TV industry have signed a pledge to boycott any Israeli film institutions that were considered “complicit” with the “genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people.” Now, Paramount has emerged as the first studio to speak out against the boycott.

Paramount chief communications officer Melissa Zukerman, in a statement published by Variety, said that “At Paramount, we believe in the power of storytelling to connect and inspire people, promote mutual understanding, and preserve the moments, ideas, and events that shape the world we share. This is our creative mission.”

The statement continues:

“We do not agree with recent efforts to boycott Israeli filmmakers. Silencing individual creative artists based on their nationality does not promote better understanding or advance the cause of peace. The global entertainment industry should be encouraging artists to tell their stories and share their ideas with audiences throughout the world. We need more engagement and communication — not less.”

Paramount’s decision to make this statement follows the studio completing its recent merger with David Ellison’s Skydance, which was only approved by the FCC after Paramount made certain concessions to the Trump administration regarding its news coverage. The White House has been largely supportive of Israel in recent months, though Trump did speak out against Israel’s recent military strike against Qatar.

Paramount Skydance Wants to Buy Warner Bros. Discovery

by jummy84 September 12, 2025

Now that the merger between Paramount and Skydance has been finalized, the newly named Paramount Skydance is ready to do some more shopping. The Wall Street Journal reports that the David Ellison-backed company is putting together a majority cash bid for ownership of fellow movie studio Warner Bros. Discovery.

While Skydance only just recently closed its Paramount deal, talks of a Warner Bros.-Paramount merger date back to December 2023.

A curious detail of the news is that the bid is said to include not just the movie studio business, but the company’s collection of cable networks. That might run counter to WBD’s previously announced plan to split the company into two separate entities: One half will be the Streaming & Studios division known as Warner Bros. that includes Warner’s vast film and TV libraries, as well as Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, DC Studios, HBO, and HBO Max. The other half will then be known as Discovery Global, including assets like CNN, TNT, TBS, and the Discovery networks. Deadline reports that this split is currently anticipated to take place in April 2026.

The new Paramount-Skydance deal was immediately followed up by the South Park season premiere mocking its new corporate ownership. One can only imagine the fun Last Week Tonight with John Oliver will also have, should this merger go through.

Here’s another change to the TV conference calendar. NATPE Budapest will next year move from its traditional June date to April 27-29, 2026. It will remain at the InterContinental Hotel in the Hungarian capital, with sessions also held at the nearby Dorothea Hotel. NATPE owner Brunico Communications put the date change down to an “increasingly crowded June window.” Claire Macdonald, Executive Director of NATPE, said: “We listened and we’re acting. After an outstanding 2025 edition, it became clear that moving NATPE Budapest to April gives buyers and partners a valuable head start.
