When Priyanka Chopra Said Ahaan Panday Has The X-Factor

Ahaan Panday started his acting career with the musical drama Saiyaara. This film, directed by Mohit Suri, was a huge hit upon its release in India, with audiences cheering in cinemas and appreciating the performances of emerging talents Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. In a recent interview with GQ, Ahaan revealed that he had received some encouraging words much before the film, and these words came from Priyanka Chopra herself.

 

Ahaan shared that it all happened when he stepped in at the last minute for a dance performance at Arpita Khan’s wedding, as someone had dropped out. That evening, he was required to learn the choreography within two hours and then performed before a sea of stars. Priyanka, who was also in attendance, told Ahaan: “You have the X factor. Treat your dreams like skydiving—once you jump, there’s no looking back.” 

Ahaan also expressed the importance of those words to him. He said, “She probably doesn’t even know I’m the same guy who ended up doing Saiyaara, but that moment stayed with me.” 

 

Saiyaara is based on a love story that develops between Krish Kapur (Ahaan Panday), a musician who is short-tempered, and Vaani (Aneet Padda), a reserved, aspiring journalist. Bobby Deol to Play a Grey Character in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Next Starring Ahaan Panday and Sharvari

Bobby Deol is on a roll recently. After Animal, Aashram and The Ba***ds of Bollywood’s success, the actor is now all set to star in Ali Abbas Zafar’s next. The film stars Ahaan Panday and Sharvari in the lead, and if reports are to be believed, Deol’s character will be in an authoritative position but he will not be the traditional villain.

Mid-Day quoted a source as saying, “It will be incorrect to call him the villain. His character is in an authoritative position in the film, but there is more than meets the eye. As the story progresses, Bobby’s character is shown having grey shades, which influences his dynamics with the hero.”

Deol has recently played negative roles and grey characters in Animal, Aashram and Kanguva and the filmmaker doesn’t want the actor to have a similar kind of a role in this film.
The source further continued, “Ali and producer Aditya Chopra were certain from the start that it can’t be a menacing and an all-black role as Bobby has done such parts. The director crafted a larger-than-life persona, keeping Bobby in mind, but at the same time, gave the character personal motivations and shades of grey. Bobby came on board only a week ago.”

Meanwhile, Ahaan recently unveiled his new look on social media and fans speculate it to be his look from Ali’s film. The Saiyaara star flaunted a rugged and intense look and captioned the photos as, And that’s a cut.”

‘Susheela Ki Jawani’: Farah Khan offers Tees Maar Khan 2 to Ananya Panday, gives her Katrina Kaif’s sister’s role

But is there scope for a sequel? Well, Farah has now spilled the beans about Tees Maar Khan 2 on Twinkle Khanna and Kajol’s chat show. And Ananya Panday is hoping to get a role in it!

Today on an episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, hosts Twinkle Khanna and Kajol were joined by the new besties in town — actor Ananya Panday and filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan. In one segment, Kajol pointed out, “Tees Maar Khan didn’t do well but Sheila Ki Jawani did very well. That was a mixed bag.” Hearing this, Farah replied, “But I just want to tell you all, contrary to what people say, it made ₹64 crores, 15 years ago. And it’s a Gen Z cult film. In fact, when you ask which movie I should make a part two to, they write Tees Maar Khan. Kajol stop making that face! Ask your son, he’ll love it.”

Twinkle chimed in and said, “An early bird that eats the worm did tell me that there are some talks about Tees Maar Khan part two.” Hearing this, an excited Ananya asked, “Can I be in it?” To this, Farah replied, “Yeah, you can be in it. You can be Katrina’s younger sister.” Kajol then joked, “Sheila… you’ll be Leela Ki Jawani.” Meanwhile, Farah joked, “Susheela Ki Jawani also you can be.”

Tanya Maniktala confirms film with Rajkummar Rao, comments on replacing Ananya Panday in Amrita Sher-Gil biopic

Tanya Maniktala has been working in the industry for seven years now, but interestingly, the actor had been living in Delhi all this while and commuting back-and-forth for work. Now, seven years later, the actor finally decided to shift to Mumbai just before Diwali, and is currently busy in her shifting phase.

“I just thought that it’s time to get out of my comfort zone. Delhi is home but Mumbai has also given me so much warmth and welcomed me with open arms, so I thought it’s time to embrace it now and make the move,” she says. While the actor admits that being in Delhi never hampered her work prospects much, she did miss out on some last minute events and appearances: “Being in Delhi in the comfort of my home, I was getting a little more passive to these things, and I would let things slide. But now I am very actively a part of everything that’s happening. I feel I am a lot more hands-on now.”

Getting to be in her own home and living independently for the first time, makes Tanya Maniktala feel ecstatic yet nervous. She says, “There are a lot of firsts happening and I’m so excited. They come with a lot of joy and excitement and also have their nervous moments. But I think I am in the company of good people and I’ve kind of got my foot in the door now,” adding, “I like having to look after myself now because it also gives me a purpose, but I also miss being taken care of. Things like food were always ready at my disposal, so having to learn all of these things from scratch, I’m enjoying the process but at the same time, also missing the convenience.”

On the work front, Tanya is rumoured to be pairing up with actor Rajkummar Rao for a film, and talking to us, she confirms it, “Even though the project with Raj sir is not announced, the information has gotten out already. So that is currently under works. It’s not surreal, but at the same time, I think I did not allow myself to imagine and accept that these kind of things could happen to me. So now that it’s working out, I am thankful to my lucky stars, although I also worked pretty hard towards it. One day, it had to happen. So I’m just glad that I’m prepared for this opportunity that has come my way now.”

She also to the reports of her replacing actor Ananya Panday in the Amrita Sher-Gil biopic, as she says, “I have no idea where this piece of information has come from. We have no idea about the Amrita Sher-Gil project. So, I don’t think I can comment on that.”

Ananya Panday to Be in Tees Maar Khan 2? Farah Khan Responds

Farah Khan and Ananya Panday will be joining Twinkle Khanna and Kajol on their talk show. With them, they will bring endless laughs and fun anecdotes. The upcoming episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle promises a laugh riot filled with old-school Bollywood tales and Gen-Z stories, cheeky confessions and a few kick-worthy moments.

The Om Shanti Om director opened up about her brief acting phase and shared, “Actually, I don’t know why I did it. I think I was sitting faaltu (useless) and then Boman called me, and Sanjay Bhansali came to my house and said, ‘I will be on set every day.’ And Boman, it was good to work with him. I became one (actress), and I decided, this is never for me. I hated it. You just have to sit and wait.”

She then jokingly added, “I told Boman, ‘Now I know why people must be having affairs on set, because it’s just out of boredom.’ She added that direction feeds her need for control and fondly recalled Tees Maar Khan. “It made 65 crores, 15 years ago. It’s a Gen Z cult film. In fact, when you ask which movie I should make a part 2 to, they write Tees Maar Khan,” said Farah.
To this, Twinkle added asked her further about the sequel of the Akshay Kumar starrer and Ananya replied, “Can I be in it?” Farah’s hilarious response to Ananya was, “Ya, you can be in it. You can be Katrina’s younger sister.”

Farah Khan also recalled a hilarious behind-the-scenes moment about kicking a director out of her room and said, “You know how hot I was, Twinkle. You know the director who tried to hit on me when we were shooting. He has come into my room to discuss the song or something while I was in bed and has sat next to me. I had to kick him from there.”



Twinkle, unable to contain her laughter, added, “He was after her no matter what. She has. She’s physically kicked him. This happened, I was a witness.”

Farah Khan, who often makes the headlines for her vlogs with her cook Dilip, opened up about her YouTube journey as well. She said, “Even when my movie was not happening, when I wasn’t directing, I said chal (come on), let me do YouTube, because I can see the skew. Also, I have 3 kids who go to university next year, and that’s bloody expensive. So I just said for a lark, let me start a show on YouTube, and that just clicked. Your life can’t revolve around another person. I feel the happiness has to come from within and from your work. Work actually gives me a lot of pleasure. Also, I feel that for me, I can work till I’m 80 because my work doesn’t depend on either my looks or clearly not my body, ever.”
