Sharon Osbourne ‘finding her footing’ after Ozzy’s death

Sharon Osbourne is still “finding her footing” in the wake of Ozzy Osbourne’s death.

Sharon Osbourne has thanked fans for their support

The former X Factor judge has spoken out for the first time since her beloved husband passed away in July at the age of 76 as she thanked fans for the “comfort” their messages of condolence have brought to her.

She wrote on Instagram: “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media.

“Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”

The 72-year-old matriarch has been helped by a recent “magical” experience spending time with her daughter Kelly Osbourne and some trained birds of prey.

Sharing a video of their day together, including footage of an owl gliding onto her outstretched arm, Sharon wrote: “Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with. The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence.

“They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.

“I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way.”

Sharon’s post came days after Kelly also told how she had found comfort in bonding with the birds.

The 40-year-old star wrote on Instagram: “In all my sadness and grief I have found something that truly makes me happy! I never thought I would find my smile again through falconry but I did. I absolutely love being with the birds.”

Kelly previously took to Instagram to thank her followers for their support following Ozzy’s death and admitted their support had helped her to navigate the grief of losing her dad.

She wrote on the photo-sharing platform in August: “I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough … but from the bottom of my heart, thank you [heart emoji]

“The love, support and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain. (sic)”

Kelly also opened up about her experience of grief, observing that it “sneaks up on you in waves”.

She said: “Grief is a strange thing. It sneaks up on you in waves — I will not be OK for a while — but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light and the legacy left behind.”

Sharon Osbourne Shares Heartfelt Message to Fans After Ozzy’s Death

Sharon Osbourne posted a heartfelt message to fans on Friday, thanking them for their support following the death of her husband and metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, who died on July 22.

“I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”

Sharon also revealed that she has formed a newfound connection with falconry, which her daughter Kelly Osbourne had introduced her to the day before. Alongside the post, Sharon shared a video of her and Kelly with the trained birds of prey. In one clip, an owl glides toward Sharon’s extended arm before gracefully perching on it.

“Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with. The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence,” continued Sharon. “They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.”

She ended her note by writing, “I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way.”

Earlier this month, Sharon and Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne recounted his final week with his father in the first episode of his podcast since his passing. “After my dad’s show in Birmingham, I stuck around, hung out for a week with the family at the house with my kids, it was a really amazing week,” Jack said. “My dad was in an amazing mood. Every day, he was opening up the newspaper and seeing different reviews and different stories from the Back to the Beginning show, and it was great.”

Although Jack said his immediate reaction was a surge of “sadness and pain… so many thoughts,” he later said he was grateful for the timing of Ozzy’s death so soon after Black Sabbath‘s Back to the Beginning concert: “There is almost a perfection to it. He got to say goodbye in such a profound way.”

Yungblud and Steven Tyler Lead Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne

The late Ozzy Osbourne was honored with a tribute performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (September 7th), led by Yungblud and Steven Tyler.

After video message by Jack Osbourne and his family, as well as a video montage of Ozzy through the years, Yungblud kicked off the VMAs musical tribute by singing “Crazy Train,” with Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt leading the backing band.

Yungblud strained a bit singing “Crazy Train,” but did a stellar job on the next song, Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” which he also sang at the Back to the Beginning concert earlier this summer.

Tyler then walked onstage with his Aerosmith bandmate Joe Perry to sing “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” The singer, whose vocal injury forced Aerosmith to retire from touring last year, delivered the Ozzy ballad with a heartfelt rasp, and was joined by Yungblud for the second half of the song.

The tribute ended with video of Ozzy in concert, saying, “Thank you, goodnight. We love you all. God bless you!”

Yungblud will join the members of Aerosmith for a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the MTV VMAs this weekend.

The 42nd Video Music Awards are taking place in the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York on Sunday night (September 7), and a portion of the show will pay tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman, who passed away in July at the age of 76.

Yungblud will join forces with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, as well as Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt during the ceremony for a medley of Osbourne’s greatest hits.

The VMAs will be broadcast live on CBS and MTV from 8pm ET in the US, while UK viewers will be able to watch it on Comedy Central and MTV at 9pm on Monday night (September 8).

Yungblud was a part of the ‘Back To The Beginning’ Black Sabbath farewell show in Birmingham in July, an event that took on extra poignancy when Osbourne died less than three weeks later. Yungblud led a supergroup that also included Bettencourt, as well as II from Sleep Token and Adam Wakeman of Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band.

They performed the Sabbath ballad ‘Changes’, and after Osbourne’s death, Yungblud vowed to play the song at every show “for the rest of my life”, adding: ““To sing this song for you at an event surrounded by legends inspired by you to a crowd who loved you was truly my life’s greatest honour.”

Yungblud also posted an emotional tribute to Osbourne, saying: “You have been my North Star for everything for as long as I can remember from when I was misunderstood as a child to the way people thought I was just a little ‘too much’ or ‘strange’ in my life and career.”

He later spoke to NME about the impact that Ozzy has had on his career. “Ozzy was a character in my life who was a reflection of everything I went through,” he said. “I was always a bit over the top. I was always seen to be a bit crazy. I was always seen to be a bit loud, but when some people saw that as a negative, Ozzy would provide me with the hope that there was an avenue for someone like me in the world.

“From such a young age, he really inspired me. Then, to know him as a friend towards the end, to know his heart, and to know Sharon Osbourne… I really started to understand that they did things their way. It’s always been inspirational because, for me, the biggest enemy to any artist or anything is the phrase, ‘This is just how it’s done’. That’s a cop out. ‘This is how it’s done’ was once an innovative idea that got stale.

“All I care about are the people outside, and I want to make this the most magical adventure for them, and something that we’re gonna have together. [Ozzy’s death] is still raw at the minute. It’s been a very weird couple of weeks. But losing someone I admired and got to know really made me think about the idea of legacy and connection with people. All that matters is the connection with them.”

Yungblud also broke down in tears during a performance of ‘Changes’ in the US recently, while Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler described one of his shows as the “best” he’d seen in years.

Elsewhere at the VMAs, Lady Gaga will be performing there for the first time in five years, joining the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, J Balvin and Busta Rhymes. Check out the full list of VMAs nominations here.

Jack Osbourne calls out Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters over Ozzy insults – National

Jack Osbourne is calling out Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters for his comments criticizing his late father Ozzy Osbourne’s career.

In a recent interview with The Independent Ink, Waters, 81, voiced his feelings about the former Black Sabbath frontman after his death.

Waters said that he “couldn’t give a f—” about Osbourne’s band, Black Sabbath.

“Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever state that he was in his whole life,” Waters said, “We’ll never know. The music, I have no idea.”

Waters continued, “I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did. Have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less, you know.”

Osbourne, who died July 22 at 76, was famously known for biting the head off a bat during a performance in January 1982.

“He was all over the TV for hundreds of years with his idiocy and nonsense,” Waters said, seemingly making reference to the family’s MTV reality TV show The Osbournes, which ran from 2002-2005.

Jack, 39, took to his Instagram Stories to call out Waters for his recent comments, writing, “Hey @RogerWaters F— You. How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become.”

“The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bullsh– in the press. My father always thought you were a c— thanks for proving him right,” Jack wrote, adding a clown emoji.

Jack’s response to Waters comes after his sister Kelly Osbourne, 40, called out Irish WWE star Becky Lynch, 38, after she made comments about Osbourne’s hometown during a live broadcast of RAW on Aug. 25.

“The only good thing that came outta here died a month ago,” Lynch said while in Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham, England.

“But in fairness to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to LA, a proper city. Because if I lived I Birmingham I’d die too,” Lynch added.

Kelly took to Instagram the next day and called Lynch “a disrespectful dirtbag.”

“Birmingham would not pi– on you if you were on fire,” Kelly wrote. “#BirminghamForever shame on the @WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!”

Thousands of fans lined Broad Street in Birmingham on July 30 to say goodbye to the rock icon during a funeral procession.

Osbourne’s wife of 43 years, Sharon, and two of his children, Jack and Kelly, followed the late rocker’s hearse in a car as it made its way through the streets of Birmingham.

Six vehicles carrying the Osbourne family — who covered all costs for the procession — followed the hearse. They got out of their vehicles to look at the goodbye messages left for Osbourne.

Jack Osbourne Slams Roger Waters Over Black Sabbath, Ozzy Comments

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Don’t mess with the Osbournes. On Tuesday, Jack Osbourne had some charged words for Roger Waters after the Pink Floyd co-founder said in the press that he “never did” care about Black Sabbath and “couldn’t give a fuck” about Ozzy Osbourne.

“Hey Roger Waters, fuck you,” Jack wrote on Instagram. “How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become. The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bullshit in the press.”

“My father always thought you were a cunt,” he added, using the hashtag #fuckrogerwaters. “Thanks for proving him right.”

In a recent interview with The Independent Ink, Waters seemed to have some pointed words about Osbourne, and also Black Sabbath’s music. “Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever state that he was in his whole life,” he said in the interview. “We’ll never know. The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a fuck.”

Waters added: “I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did. Have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less, you know.” (To be clear, the bat incident happened during Ozzy’s solo career, not while in Black Sabbath.)

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at age 76 of a heart attack “out of hospital” and suffered from coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease. The certificate, filed by his daughter Aimee Osbourne in London, listed his occupation as “Songwriter, Performer and Rock Legend.”

Osbourne spoke highly of Pink Floyd throughout his life, and called “Money” one of his favorite rock songs in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2004. Meanwhile, Waters has seemingly always been a Black Sabbath hater, and reportedly gave a mean review of their debut song, “Evil Woman,” in 1970, according to Far Out Magazine.

“Well, well, well… I’m speechless – well, almost…” Waters said at the time. “You keep thinking it’s going to start. You think that for the first minute, but then, if you are really perceptive, you realise it isn’t going to start, and that’s all there is.”

Emotional Send-Off for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath at Charity Spectacular “Back to the Beginning,” Supported by Cohesion

by jummy84 August 29, 2025
written by jummy84

On July 5, the original lineup of Black Sabbath—Geezer Butler, Tonny Iommi, Bill Ward, and the late Ozzy Osbourne—reunited for the final time in their hometown of Birmingham for a tour-de-force philanthropic benefit. The heavy metal spectacular, dubbed “Back to the Beginning,” was supported by a who’s who of legendary bands and performers, including Mastodon, Anthrax, Lamb of God, Gojira, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Tool, Slayer, Guns N’ Roses, and Metallica, who all used the Cohesion audio system rigged for one remarkable day at Villa Park in Aston.

The iconic show raised tens of millions of dollars to be donated to Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Cure Parkinson’s. Osbourne passed away on July 22, only seventeen days after his performance at “Back to the Beginning.”

“I think he really held out just to do that show,” said Iommi to ITV News the day after Osbourne’s passing. “He was determined to do it, and fair dues, he’d done it. The gig was for him, really, and for us, Sabbath, to say goodbye. It was the end of the band, and we’ll never do that again.”

“This was a very special one-off show. Black Sabbath were national heroes playing in their backyard,” said Greg Price, FOH Engineer for Metallica, Black Sabbath, and Ozzy Osbourne. “I took out Cohesion on Black Sabbath back when it was first launched, so how fitting it was to do this show on Cohesion, one of my favorite PAs.”

The audio system comprised eighteen Cohesion CO12 left-right on the main hangs, sixteen CO12 on the house right side hang, and eighteen CO12 on the house left side hang. The longer line length for house left was to provide coverage for the steeply raked upper bowl situated approximately 35’ higher than house right in the asymmetrical design of Villa Park.

“We had a powerful show that kept the tonality the same on either side without the need to hang massive amounts of cabinets,” said Rich Schoenadel, Clair Global Engineer, who collaborated with Price on the system design. “We kept the low and the mid drivers working together and muted high drivers to minimize reflections off any metal or roof of the shorter side of the venue.”

Six Cohesion CP218 II+ subwoofers were flown left-right next to the mains, and three more CP218 were hung vertically adjacent to each side hang. Thirty total CP218 II+ were placed on the ground and steered symmetrically on either side of a small central thrust and camera platform. All subwoofers were in cardioid configuration.

“Traditionally, we’d do a flown end-fire sub array behind the main array, but the direction from Greg was to go downstage and push out to have as much SPL from the front of the stage and thrust,” explained Schoenadel. “That way Ozzy could be out there, and we could do the most with our design from a gain-before-feedback standpoint, allowing the mains to be off-stage a bit and splayed a little further, along with the flown subs on the stage, to keep the low end consistent in the horizontal for the grandstand seating.”

A dozen CO12 hung from each of two delay towers. The initial system design called for three delay towers, but changes in the layout required the removal of one tower.

System Engineer Leon Fink noted that the team “didn’t really miss” the third delay because each of the two remaining towers received an additional raised stack of four CO12 on the ground. Schoenadel added that a simple “tilting in” of the two delay towers covered the seating sections appropriately.

Twelve Cohesion CO10 provided front fill in stacks of two atop the CP218 II+ on the ground. AudioRent Clair crew deployed the PA.

Villa Park has hosted many charity events, special gatherings, and rock concerts over the past few decades, ranging from Kendrick Lamar and SZA, Guns N’ Roses, and Bruce Springsteen to Archbishop Desmond Tutu. With its open-air design and location in Aston, the densely populated urban area of Birmingham, keeping energy inside the venue and not leaking out into the neighborhood is a constant consideration.

“There’s a dB limit at Aston Villa, and the health and safety people were absolutely thrilled at the show and what we delivered,” said Price. “We just did one of the biggest shows they’ve ever had, and I stayed within the city’s dB limit. The audio was perfect. It helped the community, and not one person complained.”

The festival atmosphere was apparent from the first minute of the ten-hour extravaganza, and each subsequent act catalyzed the palpable energy of Villa Park in powerful performances. The crowd reached a fever pitch as the day drew closer to the impassioned conclusion.

“The crowd really took off when Pantera came out with, ‘Cowboys from Hell,’ and I thought, ‘Yeah, we made this right,’” relayed Fink. “The crowd got really, really loud for Metallica too, but when Ozzy sang, ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home,’ that was it for me. You could tell Ozzy was emotional too.”

Osbourne, seated on a custom throne, closed his solo set with “Crazy Train,” before Butler, Iommi, and Ward rejoined him for the ultimate Black Sabbath performance. The showstopping hits “War Pigs,” “N.I.B.,” “Iron Man,” and “Paranoid” brought tears to the eyes of the 45,000 gathered and assuredly the millions streaming online.

“I can’t say enough about what a great job everyone did. Every person at FOH executed like I’ve never seen before,” summarized Price. “To be at FOH mixing Sabbath, Ozzy, and Metallica, and to be able to deliver that message, that texture, that moment for people was totally amazing.”

A 100-minute cut of the show, titled Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow, is slated for a theatrical release from Mercury Studios in early 2026.

Kelly Osbourne hits out at wrestler Becky Lynch over Ozzy joke

Kelly Osbourne has hit out at wrestler Becky Lynch over a distasteful joke she made about her late father, Ozzy.

  • READ MORE: Ozzy Osbourne, 1948-2025: culture-smashing revolutionary that redefined rock and reality TV

WWE brought its live TV show WWE RAW to the BP Pulse LIVE in Birmingham last night (August 25). The event took place just over a month after the death of the Black Sabbath frontman and soloist on July 22, aged 76.

In a nod to filming taking place in the Prince Of Darkness’ hometown, Lynch told Nikki Bella: “I’m not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago.

“But in fairness to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to LA, a proper city.  Because if I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.” The sound of boos could then be heard from the crowd.

Viewers were quick to criticise the remark, with some calling it “very disrespectful” and saying it was “too soon”.

Today (August 26), Kelly Osbourne took to her Instagram Stories feed to call out Lynch’s ill-advised comment.

“[Becky Lynch] you are a disrespectful dirtbag! Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire. #birminghamforever. Shame on the WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!!”

You can see a screenshot of the message in the post below. Lynch has not yet apologised or responded to the backlash at the time of writing.

Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter Kelly has criticised Becky Lynch’s comments from last night’s WWE Raw in Birmingham, England.

In a segment with Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch said: “You can have your match, but in Paris at Clash, because I’m not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing… pic.twitter.com/OaleCRMAlt

Ozzy Osbourne, though never active in a WWE ring, was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2021. He first appeared in WWE programming at WrestleMania 2 in 1986, when he was ringside to support to help The British Bulldogs win the World Tag Team Championships. He and Sharon Osbourne hosted an episode of WWE RAW in 2009.

His last contribution to the WWE was for 2022’s Survivor Series: WarGames event, for which he let the company use Black Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’ as its theme song, and appeared in a video package. In the package, he sang along to ‘War Pigs’, and said: “Welcome to WarGames.”

Ozzy’s death certificate confirmed his cause of death to be a heart attack, while also mentioning that he was suffering from coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s. The document listed his occupation as “Songwriter, Performer and Rock Legend”.

Kelly paid her first pubic tribute to her late father last month, before thanking fans for their “love, support and beautiful messages” in the wake of his death.

“Grief is a strange thing,” she continued. “It sneaks up on you in waves. I will not be OK for a while, but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”

Kelly joined her mother Sharon, brother Jack, and sister Aimee for a public funeral procession in Birmingham on July 30. Ozzy was then laid to rest in the grounds of his UK mansion after a private ceremony.

Jack has also shared a tribute to Ozzy, writing: “He lived and he lived his life fully. I love you dad.”

Ozzy passed away just 17 days after his huge final live show with Black Sabbath in Birmingham, which raised “a ton” of money for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Meanwhile, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme has compared Ozzy Osbourne‘s death to David Bowie’s, saying they were both “poetic”.
