When Michael Jordan came back to the NBA after two years away from the game, he took the Chicago Bulls to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 1995. While Jordan and the Bulls lost the series to the Orlando Magic, he was wearing the now-iconic Nike Air Jordan 11 sneakers.
And 30 years later, Nike is rereleasing the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Rare Air” sneakers on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT.
Priced at $235, the Nike Air Jordan 11 Retro “Rare Air” sneakers are rubber sole adds to their lightweight cushioning with a look that’s clean and retro, especially with a slick and shiny deep royal blue patent leather wraparound. The sneakers are also lightweight and made from a blend of real and synthetic leather paired with a fabric upper for durability.
In addition, the signature shoes feature Michael Jordan’s No. 23 is “hidden” at the top of each heel, as well as the “Jumpman” logo on their heels and bottoms. In fact, the eyelets spell out “Jordan” going up and down each sneaker. The silhouette is just classic, while these sneakers come in a deep royal blue, sail, black and fire red colorway.

If you’re going to let anyone tell you or, better yet, show you what’s cool right now, Jacob Elordi is your guy. Over and over again, he’s proven himself qualified for this position, donning Intrecciato loafers on the red carpet and the latest It bag on the streets of New York City—before it comes out. With that reputation in mind, when I saw him wearing a pair of the just-released Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe sneakers in downtown Manhattan, my editor senses started tingling, a surefire sign that a new viral trend has officially arrived.
The sold-out sneakers were officially released in three colors—University Red, Noir, and Alabaster—on September 29 at Jacquemus.com, before they launched across SNKRS and selected Nike retail locations on October 6. All three colors flew off the digital and physical shelves, sending a flurry of interested buyers into a tizzy. Everyone in New York wants a pair right now, and unless they’re willing to scour the resale market for their size and desired color, they won’t be getting them anytime soon. What makes them so great, apart from them being a Jacquemus x Nike product, is their vintage aesthetic, low-profile silhouette, and weightless feel. Trust me, I own the same pair as Elordi, and they feel like you’re wearing nothing.

The Moon Shoe style was originally hand-built by Nike’s co-founder Bill Bowerman. They debuted at the 1972 U.S. Olympic Trials but were never manufactured. Though, iterations like the 1972 Oregon Waffle and 1975 Waffle Trainer were adapted from that first Bowerman design. Jacquemus bringing them back is, therefore, no small feat. Fans of the barely there sneaker have been waiting more than 50 years.
“Three years ago, when I visited the Nike archives, I first came across the historic Moon Shoe,” Simon Porte Jacquemus said in a press release for the sneaker. “I saw a unique, minimal running shoe that was both timeless and modern in its simplicity and execution. I knew it was an opportunity to create a new story and reshape it in the Jacquemus way.”

As for styling your pair (if you can get your hands on them), taking cues from Elordi is never a bad plan. He styled his red sneakers in a low-key cool way, with classic jeans, a vintage crewneck sweatshirt, an L.A. Dodgers baseball cap, and a fondant-colored Bottega Veneta Intrecciato oversize shoulder bag. Copy-worthy? I think yes. Lisa from BLACKPINK posted a photo of her wearing a pair—hers are black—with jeans on Instagram. Though, she opted for a plaid shirt as opposed to a sweatshirt like Elordi. I’ve also seen the red version worn with Still Here’s similarly viral Sport Jeans in the color Pear, creating a truly perfect shade combination.
Clearly, my instincts were right about the Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe sneakers being the hottest shoe to hit NYC this season, putting all of fall’s ballet flats, loafers, and boots to shame.
I live in NYC, where I walk everywhere, which requires reliable sneakers. I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair and saw the Nike V2K Run on the site. It looked aesthetically like the right type of shoe for me. It was stylish, not too gaudy, totally functional, and quite affordable, too—all the characteristics that work well for an everyday sneaker. So I reached out to the Nike team to ask for a pair to test for a week. Keep scrolling through to see if they’re as good as I thought they’d be.

I was ecstatic when I got the Nike package in the office. I opened the red box with the well-known swoosh. I showed the cream and butter-yellow shoes to my stylish colleagues, and they all affirmed that the sneakers were cute. I slipped off my flats and immediately put the sneakers on. I walked to lunch a few blocks away and was surprised at how comfortable they were. Not to sound cliché, but it felt like I was walking on a cloud. They have a bounce to them with every step, which makes sense since they’re technically running shoes. Again, I’m not a runner, but the tech in these sneakers definitely feels suitable for long- and short-distance running. Wearing these all week made me feel inspired to join a run club. (Although I probably won’t, since I hate running.) The sneakers are a new iteration on another best seller, the Nike Vomero runner, which looks funky and retro yet modern all in one.
Anyway, throughout the week, I ran (no pun intended) a ton of errands, and my feet never hurt once. I walk very long distances in my Brooklyn neighborhood to get in as many steps as possible. With that said, these shoes were the most supportive sneakers I’ve worn in my three years of living in New York. Shocking, I know. They also fit true to size, nice and snug, and don’t slip off my heels at all, which is an issue I tend to have with some other sneakers I own. They are perfect for my long strolls and even for the office. I’ve worn them everywhere, and they’ve been everything I’ve needed in a pair of sneakers. I have a pretty lax approach to styling myself each day, so throwing these on keeps the vibe of my outfits quite cool and laid-back.
Overall, I would recommend the Nike V2K Run to literally anyone, no matter their age or style. It’s *the* walkable city–friendly shoe. The price point is relatively affordable, the colorway is trendy and timeless at once, and so are all the other colorways. It’s a great shoe for those who experience pain after being on their feet for a long period of time at work and, of course, those who just love a stroll. For those of you who do enjoy running, I can’t speak from experience, but it certainly seems like it’s a great sneaker for a marathon.

Nike has announced its 6th Yardrunners collection, recognizing four different Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) this homecoming season. Florida A&M University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, & Norfolk State University all served as the source of inspiration for this year’s spirited Air Max 95s. The initiative, established in 2020, is described as an example of Nike’s commitment to Black institutions through purpose-driven product, storytelling, recruitment, and investments.
This year’s Yardrunners class honors the current students, alumni, faculty, and staff who embody HBCU spirit and represent the legacy of their alma mater to the fullest.
The FAMU sneakers are detailed with stacked layers of leather in orange and green tones, which lead up to a snake print inspired by the school’s legendary Rattler mascot, with the classic chant “Strike, strike, and strike again.”
For Spelman, Nike issued an Air Max 95 in the school’s signature blue and white aesthetic. The design features layered leather and suede accents with a jaguar print, and the college’s logo and founding year printed on the tongue. Additionally, the Spelman Hymn “Thy Name We Praise” appears on the upper.
The Air Max 95 Morehouse features black and dark red layers of leather and suede, with a tiger-inspired print representing the Atlanta school’s mascot. The school’s logo is printed on the tongue, with the motto “Et Facta Est Lux” (And There Was Light) outlined along the upper.
Spartan pride inspired a green and gold Air Max 95 with the phrase “Behold the Green and Gold” along the upper.

Caitlin Clark has officially joined the ranks of Nike’s signature athletes, marking a major milestone in her career and in women’s basketball.
As part of the announcement, Nike unveiled her custom-designed logo — a pair of interlocking Cs meant to symbolize Clark’s dynamic playing style and her deep connection with fans.
“Nike’s signature roster features all-time greats, and I am incredibly proud to join some of the best athletes in the world,” said Clark.
She worked closely with Nike designers to shape the logo, which will appear on a new line of sportswear and performance gear. “To me, this is more than just a logo, it’s a dream come true,” she added.
The first item, a navy and yellow logo T-shirt, drops September 1 in North America. Her full apparel collection follows on October 1, with her debut signature shoe slated for 2026. Clark has been a Nike athlete since 2022.
