Sunjay Kapur’s mother tells Delhi HC Priya Kapur made every move to take control of his assets instead of mourning death

Sunjay Kapur’s mother’s statement arrives amid the ongoing legal dispute over his will. He died in June this year.

Priya Sachdev Kapur, Sunjay Kapur’s widow, is involved in a legal dispute over his multimillion-dollar estate. The trouble began when his children, with his former wife and actor Karisma Kapoor, approached the Delhi High Court, claiming Priya forged Sunjay’s will. On Monday, Sunjay Kapur’s mother told the Delhi High Court that instead of grieving his death, Priya Kapur made every move to take control of his assets. Amid a row over his inheritance, Sunjay Kapur’s mother (middle) also made submissions to the court. (LinkedIn/Sunjay Kapur)

What Sunjay’s mother claimed

As per the latest update shared by news agency PTI, the Delhi High Court on Monday heard allegations from Rani S Kapur. She said she was never told about her son’s will. The submissions were made before Justice Jyoti Singh during the hearing of a suit of Karisma Kapoor’s children. The court listed the matter for further arguments on December 3.

More details

Meanwhile, senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, representing Rani, said that marital discord between Sunjay and Priya started in May 2023 and there were constant fights. The plea read that it was “highly unlikely and improbable that Sunjay would make Priya the sole beneficiary of his personal estate”. It went on to add that her late son shared “a deep bond and equal affection with all his children, his mother and other members of the Kapur family”. Furthermore, Gaggar claimed that instead of grieving Sunjay’s death, Priya made every possible move to take control of his assets, and alleged that the daughter-in-law concealed massive assets belonging to him.

Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar, a leading auto parts manufacturer. He died in June in London while playing a polo match. Sunjay was married to Karisma from 2003 to 2016, and they had two children together. He married Priya in 2017.

Vijay Varma reveals battling severe depression, says Aamir Khan’s daughter helped him: ‘I couldn’t move from my couch’

Vijay Varma opened up about seeking therapy, and getting diagnosed with anxiety and depression.

Actor Vijay Varma has opened up about his mental health issues for the first time. The actor was in conversation with Rhea Chakraborty in her podcast, where he shared that he was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, and he turned to yoga as well as therapy to heal.

Vijay Varma was last seen in the web series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack.

What Vijay shared

During the chat, Vijay shared, “I was all alone in an apartment in Mumbai. Luckily, I had a small terrace — I could see the sky, be with the elements. Otherwise, I would’ve gone mad. Actually, I did. What happened to me is that pause, that constant running after work, the byproduct is that you become so lonely. I felt very lonely, very afraid and I was like why can’t I move from my couch for four days? What’s going on?”

How Ira Khan helped him

He went on to add how Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan helped him at that time. He said, “At that time, Ira and Gulshan [Devaiah] were like my little support system. Ira was assisting on Dahaad, and we had all become good friends during the shoot. We’d video call each other on Zoom, have dinners — that was our circle. But I kept deteriorating. She was the first to point out, ‘Vijay, I think you need to start moving a little bit.’ She would do Zoom workouts and make me work out. Eventually, I did speak to a therapist, on Zoom, and I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety… My therapist even suggested medication. I told her, ‘Let me try managing for now.’” Vijay shared that he did surya namaskars and yoga as well as sought therapy.

On the work front, Vijay was last seen in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack and the film Murder Mubarak. He is set to star next in Gustaakh Ishq, which is slated to release on November 28.

Parker Schnabel Stuns Kevin Beets With Shocking Move in Season 16 Premiere

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • Season 16 of Gold Rush begins with Parker Schnabel, Tony Beets, and Rick Ness returning to the Yukon, each aiming for ambitious gold totals amid record-high gold prices.
  • Parker faces early equipment and staffing challenges but secures a strong first weigh-in, while Tony’s crew narrowly avoids disaster with a truck accident and achieves a lucrative early gold haul.
  • Rick Ness struggles with permit issues at Duncan Creek, considers alternative sites, and ultimately decides to pursue mining at Lightning Creek after advice from Parker and Tony.

[Warning: The below contains spoilers for Gold Rush Season 16.]

Our favorite miners are back in the Yukon for Season 16 of Gold Rush on Discovery Channel. With the price of gold continuing to surge to upwards of $3,500 an ounce, Parker Schnabel, Rick Ness, and Tony Beets look to cash in a big way. The two-hour season premiere on Friday, November 7 kicked off with a quick interaction between Tony and Parker.

The latter eyed an aggressive 10,000 ounces this year and years to come. Tony was looking to build on momentum from last season. “I’m glad you’re doing well,” Parker said. Tony said the same to him. Parker replied, “Hopefully, the wars are behind us.” We’ll see if things will stay cordial between the prodigy and the “King of the Klondike.”

Parker Schnabel

The 31-year-old sunk a ton of money into his monstrous Dominion Creek claim. He counted on four wash plants to deliver better results than last year, which brought some disappointment. Parker sat down with his two foreman Mitch Blaschke and Tyson Lee before the work got underway. The mine boss didn’t sugarcoat things by warning them, “It’s going to be a stressful year for you two.” Mitch was assigned to finish up at Sulphur Creek over the 10 weeks Parker had a water license for it. Tyson had the pressure of running Dominion. A strong finish could mean Parker and his crew bring in $35 million.

Before Tyson could hit any paydirt at Dominion, the crew had to deal with the water that flooded the cut over the winter. Pay was buried with three feet of solid ice. Parker wanted to get wash plant Bob sluicing over the week. Adding more issues, the feed chain system on the prewash conveyer was down. Mechanics worked feverishly to repair it, which gave them three days to sluice.

Brennan Ruault/Discovery Channel

Mitch felt under the gun alone on the job at Sulphur. The good news is it wasn’t for long as in an unexpected turn of events Parker poached Brennan Ruault from Kevin Beets in a shocking move. Brennan had previously walked out on Parker after disagreements and reappeared working for Tony Beets’ son. Now after five years, he came back to Parker’s operation after breaking the news to a stunned Kevin and his partner Faith Teng. “Christmas came early,” said Mitch, as he reflected on the shocking switch.

There was some disagreement between Mitch and Parker. Mitch wanted to focus on the ditch to dig to get rid of water, which went against Parker who wanted immediate panning. Parker laid down the law, “you have two options: find some virgin ground or else you can leave.”  They finally drained the cut and exposed what could be their first hidden pay pocket. Parker panned and found encouraging gold. The Parker crew get together to meet up for their first weigh. Tyson’s result at the Bridge Cut ultimately brought in 125.80 ounces worth more than $440,000. A nice start, but Parker grounded the team, “we have long ways to go.”

Tony Beets

Tony and family had already started sluicing two weeks into the season. He hoped for a quick score at the Early Bird Cut. There was already a weigh-in with 417.56 ounces from Indian River worth $1.5 million. Tony aimed for 6,500 ounces worth $22 million this season. His son Mike was directed to run Paradise Hill while Monica oversaw the gold room cleaning what would be coming in. Mike had the deadline to hit pay dirt by the end of the week. This was a proving opportunity. Mike worked to strip more ground and extend the cut. He had six new trucks to use. One of those $750,000 pieces of equipment flipped over with the driver Graham stuck inside. The truck hung on the edge of what could have been a 200-foot drop. The crew broke the top of the window so Graham could get outside. A dozer got the truck upright with the excavator used to keep it from falling off the cliff. Tony decided not to fire the crew member, but Mike was now down a truck. They do hit pay at Paradise Hill and could get sluicing.

Kevin Beets

Kevin Beets

At Scribner Creek, Kevin has started round 2 in his journey as a mine boss. He had a nice start sluicing early as well. Kevin poured his life savings into jumpstarting this operation last year. He hoped to double his return this time around with a goal of 2,000 ounces. Kevin and Faith were floored, losing Brennan. “I think we should go poaching too,” Kevin said. Despite the setback, he moved forward and depended more on others of his team. Kevin’s parents paid a visit as they were leasing the ground with a 10 percent cut. They weighed from one week of pay and came up at 57.04 ounces worth $200,000. It added up to being $60,000 more than the same amount was worth last year. Now it was about hiring another foreman.

Rick Ness

Rick Ness

Rick Ness/Discovery Channel

The underdog sat on a pile of gold at his Duncan Creek claim worth more than a million dollars. That’s because he still didn’t have a water license. He can’t mine there until that goes through. Rick explored the idea of venturing to a different piece of land while things get worked out. He headed to Lightning Creek to prospect if there was gold to mine. The claim was owned by his old landlord Troy Taylor. It was the man who sold him the Duncan Creek claim. Troy felt bad about the water license and hoped offering this opportunity would be a makegood.

Rick questioned if he could trust him. Rick ran a spot check to see if the juice was worth the squeeze. He and the team weighed the small sample and wished to get a gram on the two-yard run. It came in at .525, just half of what Rick was hoping for. Rick doesn’t think it’s worth it. “We’re screwed,” he declared.

Rick joined Parker and Tony in Dawson City where a local union has been working with miners without a no water license. Rick thought it was a waste of time. Rick, Tony, and Parker met for a drink and to reminisce. Parker and Tony thought he should reconsider the Lightning Cut. Based on their insight, Rick decided to make a run at Lightning Creek after all.

bitchy | Sarah Ferguson will ‘move forward independently’ without the late queen’s corgis

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

The knives are really out for Sarah Ferguson, and they’ve been out for some time. While I believe that Fergie is a terrible person who (somewhat hilariously) conned $2 million out of Jeffrey Epstein, I’m also sort of uncomfortable with the fact that Fergie is, in many ways, getting worse treatment than Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Andrew will be set up for the rest of his life in what will probably be a six-bedroom “cottage” with extensive grounds, horses, shooting parties and a lifetime “pension” courtesy of the crown. Meanwhile, Fergie is being cut adrift completely, and not only that, but the palace seems to be gleefully painting her as “demanding” a royal home and money. Well, sources close to Fergie tried to push back to People Magazine:

Sarah Ferguson is set to move into a home of her own as her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, has been told to surrender the lease to their longtime residence, Royal Lodge, following the unprecedented decision to strip him of his royal titles.

“She is going to be moving out and into a separate home,” a source who knows Ferguson tells PEOPLE.

“Contrary to reports, she has never asked for a property or any provision for herself,” the source adds. “She will continue to forge an independent life.”

A separate source close to Ferguson confirms that she will find her own place and is “going to move forward independently.”

A palace source adds that it is unlikely Ferguson will relocate to Sandringham.

PEOPLE understands that Andrew, 65, will relocate to a property on the Sandringham estate and any future accommodation will be privately funded by King Charles. Formal notice was served on Oct. 30 for him to surrender the lease, and the move is expected to take place as soon as practicable.

[From People]

Charles has apparently given Sarah and Andrew two months or more to get out of Royal Lodge, mostly because he wants them to NOT be in Norfolk for Christmas. So, Sarah does have time to figure things out, and apparently it’s going to take a while for Sarah and Andrew to move all of their crap out of RL as well. The Mail claims that “there are rooms full of [Amazon] boxes that haven’t even been opened. It will take weeks, if not months to shift all their s*** out.” The Mail also says that Sarah might finally move out of the UK: “She’s always rather lived on the hoof and aside from her children and grandchildren, there’s not a lot to keep her here. Put it this way, the invitations have dried up overnight.”

One of the craziest postscripts to this situation is about the dogs. So, in QEII’s final years, she tried to tell people that she didn’t want any more dogs. But after Prince Philip died, Andrew got his mother two corgi puppies to cheer her up. One puppy died unexpectedly, so Andrew got his mother another puppy in the final year of her life. When QEII died, Andrew and Fergie took custody of the corgis, and Fergie made a meal out of “taking care of the late queen’s dogs,” like it was the most important responsibility ever. Well, guess who’s lost custody of the dogs? The dogs, it seems, are going to Norfolk with Andrew. Buckingham Palace actually confirmed that, saying that “the corgis will remain with the family.” Bonkers.

bitchy | The Forest Lodge move is because Princess Kate ‘wants & needs a country life’

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Where is the Princess of Wales’s “Autumn” video? You know, the video from her Mother Nature/Four Seasons series, one of the dumbest “projects” to ever come out of Kensington Palace’s Keen Busywork Department. We didn’t get the “summer” video until pretty late in the season, which makes me believe that we’ll probably get the new video in mid-November, down to the wire! Anyway, just a reminder that we haven’t actually seen Prince William in two weeks and we haven’t seen Kate in more than two weeks. William will be in Rio next week, and I assume that means Kate will still be doing f–k all publicly. Because don’t you know, she’s in charge of the big move to Forest Lodge! They’re still struggling to put a bow on this latest “forever home” move, which is why Ingrid C-Word got sent out to wax rhapsodic about Kate’s love of being a simple country wife.

Kate Middleton and Prince William are signaling a different kind of life in their move to Windsor. As they prepare to settle into their new eight-bedroom home at Forest Lodge with their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, it is clearly the leafy, country surroundings that they want for their family rather than city life. Forest Lodge is being called the family’s “forever home,” and they are set to live there even when William accedes to the throne.

There is a sense that the family’s three-year stay at Adelaide Cottage enabled them to test the waters and see if they could envisage living in the area for longer. That is certainly the case, palace insiders have told PEOPLE. Forest Lodge is a distinct upgrade from Adelaide and shows they are really putting down roots in the estate and parklands close to Windsor Castle.

“They like it around Windsor, and they’ve established themselves there,” Ingrid Seward, author of My Mother & I, says.

In a break from the practice of senior royals in the past, they don’t have live-in staff (it’s believed that the children’s nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo, who has been with the family since George was a baby, and the housekeeper live at other smaller properties on the estate). They will also be paying the market rent for the property.

As well as renovations in the magnificent home, new trees have been planted and a security cordon has been created surrounding the house with about 150 acres.

Kate, 43, has stressed how important being out in nature has been for her recovery from cancer treatment – and the well-being it brings for young and old alike.

Seward believes that the royals have felt they were “prisoners” in Kensington Palace. The author, who is editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, points to the fact that Kate used to like the walk the dogs in the park that bounded the palace. However, in practice, there was only the field where the helicopters landed behind the palace to do so, which is backed up to embassies.

“In London, there was a lack of the kind of life that Kate has decided she wants and needs. She wants a country life,” Seward says.

Now, as they look towards the end of the year, Princess Kate is planning her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, where they will celebrate some of the people, causes and charities that they have encountered during the last 12 months. Before then, William heads off solo to Brazil for a week around his innovative environmental awards, the Earthshot Prize. There, he will be supported by celebrities Kylie Minogue and Shawn Mendes in a star-studded show.

“They seem to have their lives very well under control, more than organized,” Seward adds. “It feels to me that they’re they themselves are holding the reins of their life and not letting anyone else do it. But I feel that William and Kate really are holding their own reins which is great.”

[From People]

“There was a lack of the kind of life that Kate has decided she wants and needs. She wants a country life…” I’m reminded of the Middleton PR around Pippa Middleton’s wedding back in 2017, when Carole basically sounded like a mother from a Jane Austen novel, treating her daughters as the “local beauties” of Bucklebury who simply wanted to be “married at home” and have simple, country lives. For Kate, it’s less about “being in the country” and more about living the kind of lifestyle she wants: that of a wealthy stay-at-home mother without a job. Little to no work, little to no expectations, just a vast, empty schedule which can be filled with tennis, school runs and drinking. Which would be fine if Kate, like Pippa, had just married some terribly moderately wealthy guy. But Kate is going to be queen consort! A work-from-home queen consort who does f–k all and lives grandly on her makeshift 150-acre estate.

bitchy | Jones: ‘Icy’ Princess Kate is the reason why Prince Andrew will move out of Royal Lodge

by jummy84 October 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Over the past five years or so, there’s been a consistent move to give the Princess of Wales “credit” for all kinds of things. There was a months-long storyline in 2021 about Kate acting as the linchpin of the family, and the keen peacemaker between Prince Harry and Prince William. That narrative fell apart, not least of which because William clearly disregards Kate and her opinions and always has. There are consistent storylines about “Kate wants this or that” regarding the Sussexes and none of it ever pans out. Well, now they’re trying to say that Kate is pulling strings behind-the-scenes on the fiasco involving Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Nevermind that everything that’s happened in the past two weeks is “Classic Dithering Charles.” Why anyone wants to give Kate “credit” for this unfolding catastrophe is beyond me, but the Daily Mail’s Liz Jones insists that Icy Kate is behind it all.

Prince Andrew is rumoured to have agreed to call in the removal men, vacate the 30-room, 98-acre Royal Lodge, and relocate himself and his teddies to Frogmore Cottage – formerly the home of Harry and Meghan, where the yoga studio is still in situ, providing a place where he can continue to tie himself in knots. He wants his ex-wife, Sarah, to have nearby Adelaide Cottage – he’s after a two-for-one, clearly, though doubtless has never been inside Tesco – which is soon to be vacated by William, Kate and their children.

In this regal version of Relocation, Relocation, the Waleses are off to Forest Lodge. Billed as their ‘forever home’ it is just a short trot along a tree-lined avenue from… Royal Lodge. It’s little wonder then that William is rumoured to be the driving force behind Andrew’s exit. He’s supposedly determined to ensure his ‘beyond hideous’ uncle – as TV’s Emily Maitlis says the Prince of Wales regards Andrew – will not be his new nightmare neighbour.

But let’s not forget Kate, another instrumental player in the lodge-off. She isn’t a blood relative of her husband’s creepy uncle. Her life’s work is to protect children. And apparently, she ‘shudders at the thought of living so close to Royal Lodge’. She doesn’t see this as just a scandal that threatens the Monarchy and therefore her offspring’s secure future, but as one that has already ruined the lives of scores of young women.

The way in which Andrew signed off his emails to Jeffrey Epstein – with ‘A, HRH, the Duke of York, KG’ – would alone make Kate shudder. She wears her titles lightly, can shrug them off like a too-heavy coat when kneeling to comfort children, or those suffering from cancer. She no longer wants to rub padded shoulders with a man who spent time with an already convicted paedophile or his ex-wife, a woman who sent that paedophile toe-curlingly cringy emails, calling him her ‘supreme friend’.

There is no doubt Kate will have strong views on this unfolding royal fiasco. She knows her power. Look at how swiftly, unflinchingly she saw off Meghan. Remember that icy stare when the formerly Fab Four did a walkabout before Queen Elizabeth’s funeral? She is like a lioness, protecting her territory. And anyone who can come through cancer is not to be messed with Cancer survivors are the strongest people you will ever meet.

Charles has been slow to grasp the Andrew question. William has been, too. But like any mother of three children, Kate just wants it done. Today. To roll up her sleeves and clean the house, in more ways than one. As the only jewel left shining brightly in the Crown, what Kate wants, Kate gets.

[From The Daily Mail]

Well, at least they’re not pretending that Kate is just a dishrag with no opinions on anything. It’s true that Kate has an “icy stare” and, in my opinion, it’s true that Kate is a raging B. It’s not true that “what Kate wants, Kate gets.” Kate did not want to be sent to a four-bedroom cottage in Windsor for over three years. Kate does not want to send her kids to boarding schools (but that’s what will happen). Kate does not want to work… and they’re letting her get away with that. It’s interesting that Kate is getting “credit” for “seeing off Meghan” too, right? It’s almost an admission that Kate bullied the f–k out of her sister-in-law. Baby Brain strikes again!

bitchy | Princess Kate will skip the Rio Earthshot events because of the Forest Lodge move

It’s still fascinating to see the complete lack of commentary around the Princess of Wales refusing to attend her husband’s Earthshot Prize ceremonies. Kate only went to the first two Earthshot events. She skipped in 2023 because “George had a test,” a hilariously dumb excuse. She skipped last year because her health was too fragile to travel internationally for anything other vacations. Speaking of, Kate has traveled a lot this year – several ski trips to the Alps, a vacation in Mustique in February, several weeks on a yacht in Greece, and probably several more vacations which we don’t even know about. But when it comes time to travel for “work,” Kate begs off. She will not join her husband in Rio. She even had a brand-new excuse: she can’t go to Rio because she’s moving into Forest Lodge!

Kate Middleton won’t join Prince William in Brazil for a key royal outing. The Prince of Wales, 43, is set to travel solo to Rio de Janeiro for his Earthshot Prize awards ceremony on Nov. 5. The Earthshot Prize “searches the world for environmental solutions that show the greatest potential.” During the event, William and a distinguished prize council will announce the five winners with a prize of £1 million, or around $1.3 million.

Following the events in Rio, William will then head to the UN climate conference in Belém, Brazil, on Nov. 6.

Meanwhile, Princess Kate will be staying home with the couple’s three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.

This year, Kate will be focused not only on taking care of the kids during their half-term break from Lambrook School and her ongoing recovery after announcing she was in remission from cancer, but she’s also seeing her family through a major transition.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ family plans to move from Adelaide Cottage in Windsor to the nearby Forest Lodge in the coming weeks, upgrading from the four-bedroom abode to the eight-bedroom home on the Windsor Great Park estate.

The relocation serves as a fresh start for the family, who have endured a trying few years since moving to Adelaide Cottage in August 2022. Following that transition, the royal family mourned the loss of William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth, as well as Kate and King Charles’ dual cancer diagnoses.

[From People]

“I can’t support my husband’s busywork scheme because I’m organizing our move into our fifth forever home which includes a 150-acre land grab of a public park” is quite an excuse. Granted, I acknowledge that much of this isn’t even Kate’s choice. While I doubt she wants to go to any Earthshot events, William absolutely does not want her there. That goes back to all of those suspicious stories in 2023, about how we would see William stepping out solo more often, and how he acts like a hot divorced dad or something. They were hyping up Solo/Single William a lot in the months before Kate’s mysterious hospitalization in January 2024.

Deepika Padukone’s Name Vanishes From Kalki 2898 AD Credits: Fans Slam Makers For ‘Petty’ Move! | Glamsham.com

Months after Deepika Padukone was officially removed from the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD, reports now claim that her name has also been removed from the end-credits of the first film on OTT platforms. A fan on X (formerly Twitter) posted screenshots and argued: “Credits aren’t just names at the end of a movie.

They’re acknowledgment, accountability, and respect for the work put in. When someone like Deepika, who’s played a pivotal role in shaping the emotional core of ‘Kalki’, isn’t credited even after months of OTT release…” The post sparked a wave of reactions, including calls for accountability. One fan blasted the production house Vyjayanthi Films, saying: “You guys removed Deepika’s name from end credits… Maybe the worst production house to exist… you deserve to rot in hell lmao… Removing her name from end-credits will remove her impact from the film? Seriously?”

In September this year, Vyjayanthi Films had tweeted that Deepika will “not be a part of the upcoming sequel” of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Their statement read: “After careful consideration… we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”

Multiple reports claim the split stemmed from Deepika demanding a 25 % fee hike for the sequel paired with a seven-hour work day; the makers were reportedly unwilling to meet both demands.

She later addressed the situation in an interview with CNBC-TV18, speaking about working conditions and pay parity in Bollywood: “I have done this at many levels; this is not new to me… I’m someone who has always fought my battles silently. And for some strange reason, sometimes they become public … to fight my battles silently and in a dignified way is the way I know.”

I’ve Worn a Center Part All My Life—but a Side Part Is the Move This Fall

by jummy84 October 26, 2025

I’ve worn a middle parting since I was a teenager. Never a side part. On very rare occasions, I’ve ever-so-slightly tilted it to one side, as a tentative way of switching it up. Legendary French hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai once told me that “changing the direction of the parting can completely transform a woman’s look,” and I kept that in the back of my mind—not that I was ready for it, yet. Any experiments I had with my parting over the years were short-lived. Very short-lived. I’ve always been a stickler for my own beauty and glam routine—from skincare to bodycare—so moving the parting a few centimeters was as far as I’d go.

In the last few weeks, Scarlett Johansson and Hunter Schafer have brought back the ’90s bombshell hair: a sharp side parting that, when you move, flows dramatically. The dimension and body is brilliant. Somehow, it makes your hair look even more glossy and shimmering, with a simple flick. Then came the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and the supermodel side part was enjoyed by Adriana Lima, Bella Hadid, and Gigi Hadid.

It’s also been enjoying more time on the runways, from Chanel’s deep and gritty side parts that hit at the browbone, to Dior’s romantic, side-swept bobs. Now we’re officially in fall and heading to winter, the side part feels like a glamorous, festive new setting.

So, I thought, maybe now I could allow myself to play with my hair. Experiment. Take a risk, even. It sounds hyperbolic, but I’m also someone who has worn black for years and rarely deviate from my yogurt and granola breakfast. Sweeping my hair to the side feels major. This was to be a big step out of my beauty comfort zone .

This decision came even though beauty theory says the opposite. Let me explain: hairstylist Maria Baras told me that this type of hairstyle especially favors rounded faces, because they provide some necessary volume at the top. In a display of beauty bravery, I decided, still, to give it a try. But when I let Baras know, she actually encouraged me: “When you wear your hair in a center part, you’ll be used to that flatter, sleeker, more polished look. A side part will feel strange at first, btu I advise that you give it some time to live with.”

Ana Moraless devoted center part.

I chose to do it on a Sunday, when I have the least social contact outside of my family. If it looked terrible, I was in my safe zone: my own bathroom, with my own brushes, my trusty Dyson Airwrap, and dry shampoo. If my boyfriend did a double take, I could do a 180—or a 90.
