Neighbours icon will be missing from final ever episodes, boss confirms

For the second time in just a few years, Neighbours is preparing for what looks set to be the beloved Australian soap’s final ever episode – but one of the show’s most iconic characters sadly won’t be involved.

According to boss Jason Herbison, Toadie Rebecchi star Ryan Moloney – who departed the soap after 30 years earlier this year – was unavailable to reprise his role in the finale, which was filmed back in July.

“We asked Ryan [Moloney] to return as Toadie,” he explained in an interview with TV Week. “He was unavailable sadly, but he does of course get a mention.”

Although Toadie will be absent, a number of familiar faces from the show’s past are expected to appear as soap draws to a close.

Some of the characters confirmed to return to Ramsay Street for one last hurrah include Shane Ramsay (Peter O’Brien), Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden), Jimmy Williams (Darcy Tadich), Ned Willis (Ben Hall) and Roxy Canning (Zima Anderson) – and there could be an extra surprise or two in store, too.

Herbison also teased that the episode will include “a few Easter eggs for the fans” and explained why he felt the need to end the show in a very different way from the previous finale in 2022, before the show had been rescued by Amazon.

“I couldn’t end it the same way as I did last time,” he said. “I knew we were losing the Nunawading Studios and backlot imminently, which was different to the last time.

“With so much love for the show I felt I should craft an ending that would give the show a chance to come back in different ways that didn’t rely on the studios. This is what the finale sets out to do.”

It was confirmed back in February that the soap was to be axed again after Amazon opted against renewing it beyond their original 460-episode commission, with the final episode set to air on Thursday 11th December.

When filming concluded in July, Herbison said: “Neighbours is a special show and it’s been a privilege to make the recent seasons for our loyal viewers around the world. We have added 460 episodes to our legacy of over 9,000 episodes, something we all feel proud of.

“Once again, we will be resting the residents of Ramsay Street on a hopeful note, with some tantalising possibilities for a future chapter.”

SVU’? Why Fin Will Be Missing Episodes Again

Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola (Ice T) has certainly been missed — briefly catching up with him while he recovered from his premiere attack just wasn’t the same — on Law & Order: SVU, but unfortunately, his return to the squad set him up to be absent for future episodes again.

In the Season 27 premiere, Fin thought he witnessed an assault and tried to help only to be attacked himself and his gun taken. Since then, he’s been recovering from his injuries, with Detective Joe Velasco (Octavio Pisano) briefly checking in with him before he left for a job with the DEA. In Episode 7, Fin surprised everyone by showing up at work. He greeted Detective Terry Bruno (Kevin Kane), welcomed Sergeant Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) back with open arms, and even had fun messing with new guy Detective Jake Griffin (Corey Cott) a bit. Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) was surprised to see him because she never got word he was cleared and checked he was good to return to full duty. He was, he confirmed, and it was in her inbox.

When Benson approached him separately, Fin reminded her that he’s been hurt on the job before. “I’m good. I’m very good,” he insisted. She wanted to make sure he was getting everything he needed from the department (support, time to process). “Eyesight’s good, no headaches, I’m out-working kids in the gym half my age,” Fin said. “I’ve never felt better.” When he checked if she doubted him, she told him, “No, you have been extremely clear about how physically prepared that you are,” but he stressed, “I’m prepared, period.”

But there was a moment when, as Fin and Rollins went to arrest a man for rape and a security guard stepped in, Fin reached for his gun. Rollins played mediator and identified themselves as NYPD. It was quick, but in the context of this episode, worth mentioning.

Then, near the end of the episode, Fin asked Benson if she thought that him getting jumped could have happened “back in the day,” and she argued that it could have happened to any of them. Fin didn’t seem reassured. As he saw it, “Even a couple years ago, I would have bene faster, caught on quicker, definitely wouldn’t have lost my gun.” Benson didn’t see it that way, but, “I just think I need a little bit more time before I come back, just get my head around it,” Fin admitted. “Take all the time you need. There’s always, always going to be a place here for you,” Benson assured him.

Ice T has been on SVU since Season 2, and so it’s hard to imagine the show without him. Nothing’s been said that suggests this will be permanent, but Fin is going to be missed when he’s once again away from the squad. That being said, there’s no character better to explore this with (which the show should do after this many years), given how long he’s been around and that Benson has stressed this season that she’s happy where she is with Chief Kathryn Tynan (Noma Dumezweni) trying to push her into a job at 1PP.

Plus, he did admit he’s been thinking about retiring in the premiere. “It’s crossed my mind. I don’t want to do this forever. Do you?” he asked Benson at Cragen’s wake. But after the attack and after he hid the fact that his gun was taken from his captain, he told her, “I thought this might have been a message for me to get out while I still can, but I’m not throwing anything away, Liv. And I’m not ready to retire until I earn your trust back.”

Glen Powell is missing Tom Cruise’s feedback on key new film element

It’s well documented that Tom Cruise has acted as something of a mentor for Glen Powell after they starred together in Top Gun: Maverick back in 2022. But the Mission: Impossible star’s impact has never been quite so clear as in Edgar Wright’s new film The Running Man.

Powell takes on the lead role of Ben Richards – the character previously played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the earlier 1987 film of the same name – and, as the title suggests, he gets plenty of opportunities to showcase some top-tier movie-star running.

Powell previously revealed that he had called up Cruise for some advice about running on camera and ended up having an over two-hour conversation with him that included some very helpful tips.

“He said, ‘You should film yourself running because you don’t look as cool as you think you do,” the Twisters and Anyone But You star told People. “He was so right!”

With than in mind, we were curious to find out if Powell had received any feedback on his on-screen sprinting now that Cruise has seen the movie, and so we put that question to the star when we spoke to him and Wright for an exclusive RadioTimes.com interview.

“You know what? Tom loved the movie, but I haven’t talked to him about my running form,” was his response. “I’ll get back to you on that one. I’m so desperate for his approval on the running!”

“He’d be like in Strictly Ballroom at the end, you know like holding up the cards [with scores],” added Wright, making Powell chuckle.

Whatever he thinks about the running specifically, Cruise was clearly impressed with Powell’s performance and the film on the whole, with the Hollywood legend lavishing praise on the movie on social media after attending it’s London premiere last week.

“Another great night out with my friends at the movies!” he wrote. “You guys crushed it, congratulations! I laughed, was on the edge of my seat and ate way too much popcorn.”

The film is the second big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s 1982 novel – which the prolific writer published under his pseudonym Richard Bachman – following the aforementioned Schwarzenegger version, although this one adopts a different tone and is far more faithful to the source material.
The Running Man is released in UK cinemas on Wednesday 12th November.

Ariana Grande is facing an unexpected wave of backlash after missing the first world premiere of Wicked: For Good in São Paulo, Brazil. The singer and actress shared that she was unable to attend because of a last-minute flight issue that made it unsafe for her aircraft to take off.

In an emotional Instagram Story, Ariana revealed that she and her team were grounded for safety reasons. She explained that her flight was delayed overnight and could not legally depart until the next morning. “I’m heartbroken I can’t be there,” she wrote, adding that she had tried every possible way to make it, even exploring alternate flights and private options, but none worked out in time.

The Wicked: For Good premiere went ahead with the rest of the cast, including Cynthia Erivo and director Jon M. Chu, celebrating in São Paulo. Ariana sent her love to fans and her co-stars, asking everyone to enjoy the moment even in her absence. “Please send all your love and energy to my Wicked family tonight,” she posted.

However, soon after the event, Ariana addressed something much darker. The pop star revealed that she had been receiving a stream of angry and threatening messages from a small section of fans online. In another Story, she wrote, “Please don’t wish danger on me, my team, or anyone. This is so unnecessary and hurtful.” She later deleted the message, but screenshots quickly circulated across social media.

According to reports, some users accused her of “abandoning” the Brazilian premiere despite her clear explanation. Fans and fellow celebrities quickly came to her defense, reminding others that no one should risk their safety for a red-carpet appearance.

This isn’t the first time Ariana has had to deal with online hostility while on tour or during film promotions. The artist, known for her close connection with fans, has often spoken about the emotional toll that social media negativity can take.

Meanwhile, Wicked: For Good continues its global rollout, with more premieres and appearances scheduled in the coming weeks. Ariana, who plays Glinda, is expected to attend upcoming events once travel resumes safely.

It’s a tough reminder of how online fandoms can blur the line between passion and pressure. Sometimes, empathy gets lost in the noise.

At the end of her note, Ariana simply said, “I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there, I love you all endlessly.”

The presence of a very 20th-century bedside table in the AI Mahabharata on JioHotstar has the internet chuckling.

A new adaptation of the epic Mahabharata is currently streaming on OTT. Mahabharat – Ek Dharmayudh has been created with the help of artificial intelligence with no actors, sets, or physical presence. The controversial show has received criticism for ‘normalising’ the use of AI in creation at a time when most creators are fighting to keep AI out of filmmaking. Now, critics of the show have found a blunder in one of the scenes to point out – the presence of modern-looking furniture in ancient Hastinapur.

The AI Mahabharat is streaming on JioHotstar and has been created by the Collective Media Network. The first episode was released on 25 October, and it focused on the birth of Prince Devvrat (who would later be known as Bheeshma) to Hastinapur’s King Shantanu. One scene shows Goddess Ganga with a young child in a palace room. Eagle-eyed viewers noted that while the rest of the room looked period-accurate with an ornate bed and curtains, a modern-looking bedside table with drawers spoiled the look.

The table, which resembled something very 20th-century, was kept in the background of the scene and was on screen for barely a few seconds. But it was enough to be screengrabbed and shared on the internet for chuckles. “Watching AI Mahabharata on Jio Hotstar.. I’m dying at the bedside desk,” a viewer wrote as they shared the screengrab on Twitter.

Internet can’t stop laughing

In response, one social media user quipped, “Just missing a wireless charger.” Many others who watched the show said that the AI rendition did not feel very real, and that the show had a very off vibe. “My mum was watching it day before and I was beside she was saying “see so perfect they look” then I explained her that an AI mom, she got upset really (last generation to be innocent),” wrote one. Another added, “In one scene, there is a picture (on the bed wall) of a person wearing suit.”

Mahabharat – Ek Dharmayudh follows an episodic release format with a new episode on JioHotstar every Friday. Speaking about the show at its trailer launch last month, Vijay Subramaniam, founder & group CEO of Collective Artists Network, said, “For many of us, the Mahabharat is more than just a story; it’s the tales we grew up hearing from our parents and grandparents, stories that shaped our imagination and values. With AI Mahabharat, we get to experience those same timeless stories in a completely new way, brought to life through the power of modern AI technology.”

So far, two episodes have dropped on the streaming platform.

Tchéky Karyo Dead at 72 as Tributes Pour in for ‘The Missing’ Actor

Tchéky Karyo, the French actor known for portraying detective Julien Baptiste in the BBC series The Missing and its spinoff, Baptiste, is dead at 72.

On Friday, October 31, Karyo died following a battle with cancer, his family told the AFP news service, per the BBC.

In addition to The Missing, Karyo was best known for his roles in films like La Femme Nikita (1990), Addicted to Love (1997), Bad Boys (1995), and The Core (2003). He also notably appeared in Ridley Scott‘s 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992) and played French Major Jean Villeneuve opposite Mel Gibson in The Patriot (2000).

“We are so sad to learn of the passing of Tchéky Karyo,” Director of BBC Drama Lindsay Salt said in a statement. “He was a truly brilliant and much loved actor and he will be fondly remembered by BBC viewers for his roles in The Missing, Baptiste and most recently Boat Story. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this time.”

Meanwhile, fans took to social media to react to Karyo’s death and share tributes honoring his acting career.

On X, one user wrote, “So sad to hear of the passing of Tcheky Karyo. Lovely actor and sweet man. Rest in peace Tcheky.”

Another X user shared, “Bye bye Tchéky Karyo 😔 I really loved the way he played those bastards and lunatics with incredible intensity, while occasionally taking little side steps toward things that were softer or funnier. What a face and what charisma. I loved him a lot 🖤🖤

Someone else wrote on X, “One of my favorite actors, his role in Kiss of the Dragon is phenomenal.”

A different fan shared via X, “He often played villain roles, but @tchekykaryo had become, over the years, an endearing personality and a major actor for #cinema français. Condolences to all his loved ones.”

Meanwhile, yet another X user commented, “Oh no. If anyone hasn’t seen him as Baptiste, I suggest they reserve some time over the next few days and watch The Missing. What a show and what an actor. RIP.”

Westlife paid tribute to missing bandmate Mark Feehily as they celebrated their 25th anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday night (27.10.25).

The Irish boy band played the first of two sold out nights at the iconic venue in the UK capital but took to the stage as a trio – Shane Filan, Nicky Bryne and Kian Egan – following Mark’s decision last year to pull out of Westlife’s touring commitments due to a number of serious health issues which have included surgery, sepsis and an incisional hernia.

Halfway through the two-hour gig, Shane, 46, took a moment to remember Mark, 45, and tell fans that despite his absence from the stage Mark features on the group’s upcoming album.

Shane told the crowd: “I want to take a little moment now to speak about Mark who is unfortunately not with us tonight. But we love him, we miss him and we cannot wait to have him back on this stage with us.

“The good news is he’s obviously on the new music which you’ve heard already. And the next album obviously as well. We have a new album coming out in February.”

Shane and his bandmates then dedicated Flying Without Wings to Mark, citing it as his favourite song.

That wasn’t the only moment the Westlife boys took to speak with their loyal fans in attendance.

Nicky, 47, admitted he would never have believed when they started out 25 years ago that two guys from Dublin and three from Sligo would make it on stage at the Royal Albert Hall which has hosted music legends like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in the past.

Nicky said: “We were just five lads from Ireland – two from Dublin and three from Sligo – and now we are here.

“I was looking to see the legends and the people of notoriety, the list is endless, from kings and queens that have been standing on this stage to bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones … Frank Sinatra stood on this stage and now its Westlife.

“All our families are over here for a couple of days, the Irish are in town!”

Westlife’s set was packed with greatest hits from their two-and-a-half decade spanning career and highlights included World of Our Own, Queen of My Heart and I Have a Dream as well as swing classics Ain’t That A Kick in the Head and Mack the Knife.

Last year, Mark announced via his Instagram account that he was withdrawing from Westlife’s first tour of America and other dates after undergoing hernia surgery in the wake of other serious health issues.

He posted: “It’s Mark here… Most of you are aware that I have had some health challenges over the past while.

“It actually all started 3.5 years ago in August 2020 when I had surgery. Within a few days of this surgery I was in severe pain and was rushed into A+E.

“I eventually ended that awful day in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where I was informed that due to a complication with the surgery, I had developed severe ‘Sepsis’, a life-threatening infection that would require immediate emergency surgery to rectify the problem and basically save my life.

“I spent the next few months in hospital. It was during lockdown. For months, due to strict Covid restrictions, I was not allowed any visitors including my fiance and my then 10-month-old daughter. It was physically and mentally a very difficult time, not to mention traumatic having to spend so long in ICU.

“In late 2021, I became very ill in Newcastle before a concert and ended up back in A+E, this time being told I had pneumonia. I was told I had to go straight home to recover and regrettably miss the rest of the concerts that December.

“I was referred to a consultant who told me I needed more surgery which I went ahead with in May 2022 meaning I was forced to miss more of The Wild Dreams tour.

“Three months after that surgery, I tried my best to soldier on for you guys and to go back on tour but unfortunately the physical demands of the concerts and extensive travel were proving too much for me.

“I developed a very large ‘incisional hernia’ and I was told that I needed further surgery to fix it. This would be my fourth major surgery since the start of it all, but I had no option.

“‘It is with the upmost level of regret that I must now temporarily stand down from all Westlife touring until a time that I have had the chance to fully recover from the turbulent journey I have been through as an individual.

“Believe me, I wish things could be different! I would like to thank you so very much for your support and understanding of me and my health over the past few years.

Tickets for Westlife 25: The Anniversary World Tour are on sale this Friday (31.10.25) at 10am and their album The Ultimate Collection is out 13 February 2026.

Don’t let the plants and birds fool you.” Goldwyn Films has revealed an official trailer for a film called Escobank, an action thriller about a gang of criminals after Escobar’s missing, supposedly buried money in the dense jungles outside of Medellin. The film will be out to watch on VOD in November if anyone wants to follow. Escobank is the story of a ragtag group of misfits, veterans and ex-cons who embark on a perilous journey in the jungles of Colombia to find the buried barrels of cash left behind by legendary drug kingpin. Also known as Escobank: The Hunt For Pablo Escobar’s Lost Fortune. Avi Haddad, Miami’s Prince of Crime, leads his crew to Colombia to find the buried fortune. Haunted by past seekers’ fates and true intentions, tensions rise in the jungle. Avi’s lawyer, Sandy, joins—but her own secrets may be deadlier than the jungle itself. Starring Zohar Liba, Dana Frider, Angel Bonnani, Geroge Iskandar, Rodrigo Poisón, and Harlys Becerra. As expected, this looks atrociously bad. Cheesy filmmaking with awful performances and everything. Avoid at all costs – unless you just have to find out where the money is.

Escobank is written and directed by Israeli actress / filmmaker Orit Sher, making her feature directorial debut with this film. With additional writing by Sharon Shaked; based on a story by Yaron Nativ. It’s also poduced by Yaron Nativ; exec produced by Shirly Balila, Haim Yehezkel, Yaron Nativ. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Samuel Goldwyn Films will debut Orit Sher’s Escobank film direct-to-VOD starting on November 14th, 2025 coming soon this fall. Earlier today, Deadline reported that Yang was going to miss SNL tonight as he was set to receive the Vantage Award at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.

Yang’s first mention on the Lorne Michaels-produced show was during Sabrina Carpenter‘s monologue.

Yang’s bigger role on this week’s SNL was during a pre-taped sketch for the music video “Middle School Lovin’.” In the pop video, Yang and Carpenter play middle schoolers going to a school-sponsored dance where they “break the rules” and “grind” on each other.

“You know it girl, it’s finally time. I see you eyeing me at school. It’s been on both of our minds, and I’m feelin’ grown, twelve sprays of my dad’s cologne,” Yang sings in the pop video.

As the duo arrives at school, they sing, “We’re breaking the rules and I know that it’s wrong, but it’s feeling so right. We’re thirteen, but tonight is the night — we’re going to grind.”
