TAICCA & Taiwan’s Mirror Fiction Invest $10M In Mirror Entertainment

Taiwanese IP development company Mirror Fiction Inc has launched a film and TV production company, Mirror Entertainment, with a $10M (NTD310M) co-investment with Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA).

The Taipei-based outfit is developing ten films and TV series projects over the next five years, several of which will be produced with international partners.

Eight projects were announced at a launch event at Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) today, including three inspired by true events or global issues: Godless, adapted from a true story about a female serial killer in Taiwan; Until The Next Appointment, a Switzerland-set comedy about the impact of internet usage on children; and thriller Diamonds And Bread, about a diamond theft linked to an international conspiracy.

Mirror Entertainment will be headed by chairperson Tung Cheng-yu, who is also the CEO of Mirror Fiction. Tung is an established figure in Taiwan’s IP development field with experience across journalism, publishing and film production. She also co-scripted Tsai Ming-liang’s 2013 drama Stray Dogs, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Venice Film Festival, and executive produced award-winning drama series Port Of Lies.

Other members of Mirror Entertainment’s management team include General Manager Lo Chun-Han; Lily Chen and Patrick Jia, Content Development & Production Department Directors, who will act as producers on Mirror Entertainment projects; and Glenis Tsai, International Business Development Director, who will connect the company’s projects with domestic and international markets.

Mirror Fiction has also brought on board Ruen Tai Shing Co and Field Stone Investment Holding as co-investors in the new venture alongside TAICCA. The TAICCA investment is sourced from Taiwan’s National Development Fund, which has previously invested in local film and TV companies including Mandarin Vision, Damou Entertainment and Screenworks Asia.

Mirror Fiction is an IP incubation platform which has previously invested in films including A Sun and The Falls, both of which were selected as Taiwan’s submission to the Best International Film category of the Oscars; as well as box office horror hit The Rope Curse 3. The company also produced Port Of Lies, a series about a lawyer defending a migrant worker accused of murder, which won seven prizes at Taiwan’s Golden Bell Awards, as well as Freddy Tang’s feature film April, which recently screened at Tokyo International Film Festival.

Other projects announced at the launch event today include Gangster Priest, a black comedy about a gangster who has trouble leaving behind his life of crime; and horror film Hopscotch, which explores how family trauma is replicated through new generations.

Mirror Fiction also plans to adapt its own properties including hit internet novel The Cleaning Guide For Murderers; and Promise To Bring You Home, a story about baseball in Taiwan’s indigenous communities, which picked up the Glory IP award today at TCCF Pitching.

Skincare Guru Ole Henriksen Says Smiling at Yourself in the Mirror Is Just as Important as Your Serums

Good skin and good vibes! Skincare legend Ole Henriksen has pampered some of Hollywood’s most iconic faces including Barbra Streisand, Naomi Campbell, Cher, Diana Ross, Halle Berry, Laura Dern, Jessica Alba, and Katy Perry, and now he’s sharing his surprisingly simple secrets for getting a glow.

While his Scandaniva born brand is known for results-driven staples like the Violet Ice Cold Plunge Pore Mask, Hydrabarrier Nourishing Face Oil, Banana Bright + Eye Crème, Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment, and Dewtopia 5% Acid Firming Night Crème, he tells ET that real radiance starts from within.

“Famous or not, I’ve always treated everyone like a star. Everyone in my book always deserves the best. … My goal is to help everyone love themselves and their skin,” he explains.

This philosophy applies when clients visit the company’s spa in West Hollywood, California with “emotional” skin, from cystic acne flare ups to dull complexions. His solution: a mindset-first, moisturizer second approach.

“Skin is your biggest organ, so you need to take care of it like the rest of yourself. … It’s about lifestyle, both mental and physical, that cares for skin,” the founder explains.

“It’s important to take a moment for yourself. Get up a little earlier to relax in the moment and avoid being rushed or stressed. … Splash your face with cold water, look at yourself in the mirror, and lend yourself a smile. It’s all about an inner glow that radiates and a love affair with life.”

Then comes the products, which are applied slowly and intentionally with a calming touch.

“Do your own spa at home and give back to yourself and give back to yourself and your skin. Start with some deep breathing and close your eyes before filling your sink with warm water mixed with lavender or rosemary oil. Then, put a towel in the water and hold it on your skin to rev up circulation,” the entrepreneur recommends.

“From there, I massage each step of my routine gently into my skin with outward and upward motions and allow 1-2 minutes between to let everything soak in. …Plan the time and invest in you. … Your health is your wealth, and you are #1 in your life,” he shares.

The Mirror Palais Paradox: a Brand Built on Social Media, Haunted by It Too

“I’m one of the world’s biggest fast-fashion designers. And, unfortunately, this is happening completely against my will,” declared Marcelo Gaia, the Brazilian-American mastermind behind the nostalgic, Gen Z–adored label Mirror Palais. In an Instagram Reel from August, Gaia then goes on …

‘Black Mirror’ creator reveals details of his next “stunningly original” Netflix series

by jummy84 September 10, 2025

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker has revealed new information surrounding his next Netflix series.

Brooker has been working on a non-Black Mirror series for Netflix for some time now, and has finally provided a substantial update on what that project is going to look like. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the currently untitled series is already in production.

The series, according to its official log line, is being described as “a profoundly serious, stunningly original crime thriller in which a tormented detective from the Northern city of Bleakford ventures down to London on a mission to catch a ritualistic serial killer before they run out of people to kill. Contains blood and frowning.”

The project stars Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon, MobLand), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian, Watchers) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, The Abandons). A wider cast and its release date have yet to be announced.

Brooker has co-written the series with Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Emer Kenny, Daniel Maier and Joel Morris. It is being directed by Al Campbell (Code 404, Two Weeks To Live).

Brooker first teased the series in August, when he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about Black Mirror season seven’s Emmy nominations: “I am doing something at the moment that we haven’t announced yet. It is not Black Mirror. It’s very different; it’s using my other skill set. My other hat I sometimes wear.”

Charlie Brooker and his creative partner Annabelle Jones have also recently exited their Netflix-owned production company Broke & Bones in July, but have assured fans that they will still be involved in Black Mirror‘s future: “Well, it’s Black Mirror, so the future is looking bleak. But yes, bleakly bright.”

Black Mirror season seven scored a glowing five-star review from NME, with James Mottram writing: “A typically eclectic soundtrack features everything from The Stone Roses to Amyl And The Sniffers), perfectly symbolising the variety on offer across these six episodes. Brooker’s sharp-eyed intelligence and eerily prophetic lens on society is also very much in tune. It’s not all about the twists either. These news episodes, especially the cine-literate ‘Hotel Reverie’, merit a second viewing – but that is par for the course in the Brooker-verse. As they say in the final episode, “a tiger cannot change its stripes”.”

‘Black Mirror’ Creator Charlie Brooker Sets Next Netflix Show

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker is making a four-part detective crime series for Netflix; it’s currently in production.

The untitled project is “a profoundly serious, stunningly original crime thriller in which a tormented detective from the Northern city of Bleakford ventures down to London on a mission to catch a ritualistic serial killer before they run out of people to kill,” the logline reads.

It then warns: “Contains blood and frowning.” Those two often go together.

The series stars Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon, MobLand), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian, Watchers) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, The Abandons). Probably no dragons in this one.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be saying these words for the press release,” Brooker said in a statement. “I’ve dreamt of providing a quote ever since I was a young foetus, and now here I am doing it. I’d pinch myself, but like all of us, I’m terrified that if I do that, I might wake up and discover 2025 has all been a magical dream. Please watch my show. I am begging you.”

Brooker wrote the series with Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Emer Kenny, Daniel Maier and Joel Morris; additional material by Victoria Asare Archer. He executive produces it with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. Mark Kinsella is co-executive producer and Richard Webb is producer. Al Campbell directs the miniseries.

Brooker had recently teased the project in an interview, as he was working on the yet-unannounced series when he chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about the Emmy nominations for the latest season of Black Mirror, and also weighed in on his recent exit from his and Jones’ Netflix-owned banner Broke & Bones.

“I am doing something at the moment that we haven’t announced yet. It is not Black Mirror. It’s very different; it’s using my other skill set. My other hat I sometimes wear,” he said when discussing the challenge of pumping out more Black Mirror stories amid the fast-changing tech landscape. “The thing about Black Mirror now is there is definitely a shorter gap between conceptualizing a Black Mirror story and the real world, unfortunately, serving up something quite similar. I’m in a bit of an arms race with reality.”

As for season eight, he assured fans that Black Mirror’s future on the streamer still remains bright. “Well, it’s Black Mirror, so the future is looking bleak. But yes, bleakly bright.”

bitchy | Mirror: Prince Harry will likely meet his father face-to-face next month

by jummy84 August 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Yesterday, we got confirmation that Prince Harry will make his annual September visit to the UK. He’s worked with his patronage, WellChild, and they’ve coordinated a date for the annual WellChild Awards. Considering Harry tends to book several events for his visits to the UK, I would imagine he’ll probably do something with Scotty’s Little Soldiers and maybe one or two other charities, and maybe something around Invictus too. Harry’s schedule is close-hold, for good reason, but we know he’ll be in town on September 8th. I suggested that Harry probably wouldn’t meet his father face-to-face, given that Charles is expected to stay in Balmoral up until mid-September, when he’s hosting the godforsaken Trump family for a state visit. But The Royalist pointed out that while Charles is staying in Balmoral, he travels back to London on a weekly basis for his cancer treatments. So… it’s not impossible to think that the timing could line up for an in-person meeting with Harry. Well, the Daily Mirror says it’s happening.

Prince Harry is poised to see his father, King Charles, for the first time in 20 months when he returns to Britain in two weeks – although Prince William has rejected any reconciliation with his brother. The thawing of relations between the Duke of Sussex and the monarch comes after an informal peace summit with Buckingham Palace officials. Harry is expected in London on September 8 – the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death – to attend the WellChild Awards, a charity event he has long supported.
‌
A US source told the Mirror: “It’s clear there is now a determination on both sides to make this happen. Nobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry. For the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach. Prince Harry’s team and the Palace have opened a line of communication, and there is every hope that father and son will see one another when the Duke returns to London in September.”

They continued: “After 20 months apart, and with the King continuing his treatment, the feeling is that the time is right to take that step. This is not about grand gestures or set-piece meetings – it’s about a simple face-to-face conversation between a father and his son. The priority is privacy and dignity, but also ensuring the door stays open for further dialogue. As for Harry and William, though, any chance of reconciliation between them has been rejected out of hand.”

Despite the possible meeting, it is understood Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, will maintain her self-imposed exile from Britain, opting to stay in California with the couple’s two children, Archie and Lilibet. Charles has not seen his grandchildren since June 2022, when the Sussexes returned for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

[From The Daily Mirror]

I have serious doubts that this comes from a “US source.” They’re trying to make it sound like Team Sussex is leaking details of a meeting, and I just don’t think that would happen. This sounds more like it’s either coming from Prince William’s office (jealous and enraged that the meeting is happening) or Charles and/or Camilla. Anyway, I hope Charles and Harry do get a chance to see each other and, as always, I’m glad that Meghan and the kids are staying safe in Montecito. It’s still hilarious to me that all Harry had to do was give an interview to the BBC and suggest that his dad might not have much time left, and BAM, Charles agrees to meet him. That’s what’s known as “positive reinforcement.” Now Harry knows that all he has to do to get what he wants with Charles is go public about what’s happening behind the scenes.
