Trump ’60 Minutes’ Interview Scores 13.2 Million Viewers

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

President Trump’s edited interview with CBS News‘ “60 Minutes” — a year after he sued the newsmagazine over its editing practices — scored big ratings for the program.

According to preliminary Nielsen data, the Nov. 2 airing of “60 Minutes” featuring a drew 13.2 million viewers, Variety has confirmed. The fast nationals ratings are more reflective of live viewing and the final numbers are likely to change. But that’s a high number for the show, which averaged 8.32 million viewers for the 2024-25 season, according to Nielsen data.

Trump was interviewed by Norah O’Donnell, CBS News senior correspondent and a contributor to “60 Minutes.” It was Trump’s first interview with “60 Minutes” in five years. During the interview, Trump boasted that “’60 Minutes’ paid me a lotta money” and praised the takeover of Paramount by David Ellison’s Skydance Media — but those comments was cut from the edited version that aired on CBS.

“’60 Minutes’ paid me a lotta money,” Trump said. “You don’t have to put this on, because I don’t wanna embarrass you, and I’m sure you’re not – you have a great – I think you have a great, new leader, frankly, who’s the young woman that’s leading your whole enterprise is a great – from what I know,” Trump said. Trump was referring to the Bari Weiss, appointed as editor-in-chief of CBS News last month after Paramount Skydance bought her outlet The Free Press in a $150 million deal.

About Weiss, Trump said, “I don’t know her, but I hear she’s a great person. But ’60 Minutes’ was forced to pay me — a lot of money because they took her answer out that was so bad, it was election-changing, two nights before the election. And they put a new answer in. And they paid me a lot of money for that. You can’t have fake news. You’ve gotta have legit news. And I think that it’s happening.”

Regarding the Ellison family’s acquisition of Paramount, parent of CBS, Trump said, “I see good things happening in the news. I really do. And I think one of the best things to happen is this show and new ownership, CBS and new ownership. I think it’s the greatest thing that’s happened in a long time to a free and open and good press.”

Trump is friendly with Larry Ellison, the ultra-wealthy founder of Oracle. Last month, Trump said, “Larry Ellison is great, and his son David is great. They’re friends of mine. They’re big supporters of mine. They will make the right decisions. They’re going to revitalize CBS — hopefully, they’ll bring it back to its former glory.”

Trump’s claim that “60 Minutes” paid him is not technically correct. In fact, parent company Paramount Global agreed to pay Trump $16 million to settle his lawsuit that alleged “60 Minutes” deceptively edited then-VP Kamala Harris’ responses in a manner that damaged Trump. Legal experts said Paramount would easily have won in court and initially Paramount and CBS News sought to have the case tossed. However, previous Paramount controlling shareholder Shari Redstone pushed the company to resolve the case out of court, to pave the way for Skydance Media’s closing the $8 billion acquisition of Paramount Global.

CBS News on Sunday released a transcript of the full 90-minute session with Trump. The interview covered a wide range topics, from international politics to ICE raids in the U.S. to the economy and healthcare police to the federal government shutdown. Much of the interview was devoted to O’Donnell’s questions about the president’s views on geopolitical hot spots and challenges the U.S. faces in dealing with Russia, China, Israel, Venezuela and other unpredictable situations. The interview was recorded Oct. 31 at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago compound in Palm Beach, Fla.

O’Donnell also questioned Trump about the conflicts of his role as president and his family investments and marketing of Trump-branded crypto currencies. Asked about the Trump family crypto activity, Trump was dismissive. “I can’t say, because– I can’t say– I’m not concerned. I don’t– I’d rather not have you ask the question. But I let you ask it. You just came to me and you said, “Can I ask another question?” And I said, yeah. This is the question–.”

Trump '60 Minutes' Interview Highlights: Biggest Talking Points With Norah O'Donnell

Trump ’60 Minutes’ Interview Highlights With Norah O’Donnell – Hollywood Life

Nearly four months after settling his lawsuit against CBS for $16 million, Donald Trump sat down with Norah O’Donnell on 60 Minutes. The interview took place on Friday, October 31, from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida and aired on Sunday, November 2. Read on to see some of the highlights from Trump’s 60 Minutes interview with O’Donnell and watch the video of it below.

Trump Said the U.S. Could ‘Blow Up the World’ 150 Times With Nuclear Weapons

While pointing out that the U.S. has “more nuclear weapons than any other country,” in the world, the president said that China will soon follow suit and “be even in five years.”

“You know, they’re makin’ ’em [weapons] rapidly,” Trump said. “And I think we should do something about denuclearization, which is gonna be some — and I did actually discuss that with both President [Vladimir] Putin and President Xi [Jinping]. Denuclearization’s a very big thing. We have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world 150 times. Russia has a lot of nuclear weapons, and China will have a lot.”

Trump also said he wants the U.S. to perform more nuclear testing “because you have to see how they work.”

“If you notice, North Korea’s testing constantly. Other countries are testing,” Trump said. “We’re the only country that doesn’t test, and I don’t wanna be the only country that doesn’t test.”

Trump Said ICE Hasn’t ‘Gone Far Enough’ With Their Raids

After O’Donnell pointed out the harsh videos of ICE raids and arrests seen around the country, she asked Trump if he thinks some of the raids may have gone “too far.”

“No, I think they haven’t gone far enough because we’ve been held back by the judges, by the liberal judges that were put in by [Joe] Biden and by [Barack] Obama,” Trump claimed, adding, “Because you have to get the people out. You know, you have to look at the people. Many of them are murderers. Many of them are people that were thrown outta their countries because they were, you know, criminals. Many of them are people from jails and prisons. Many of them are people from frankly mental institutions. I feel badly about that, but they’re released from insane asylums. You know why? Because they’re killers.”

Trump Would Rather Andrew Cuomo Be NYC Mayor Than Zohran Mamdani

When O’Donnell asked what Trump thought about New York City’s mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, the Republican said, “I think he’s probably gonna make de [former Mayor Bill de Blasio] look great. I think he will make de Blasio look like one of our great mayors. De Blasio was the worst mayor we’ve ever had. Now I saw that, you know, but I was sort of leaving during that period of time. I got to see de Blasio, how bad a mayor he was, and this man will do a worse job than de Blasio by far. And it’s gonna be hard for me as the president to give a lot of money to New York. Because if you have a Communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there.”

Trump added, “I’m not a fan of [Andrew] Cuomo one way or the other, but if it’s gonna be between a bad Democrat and a Communist, I’m gonna pick the bad Democrat all the time, to be honest with you.”

Trump Doesn’t ‘Even Think About’ the 2028 Election

“Well, I don’t even think about it,” Trump said when O’Donnell asked him about the rumors of him running for a third term in 2028. “I will tell you, a lotta people want me to run. But the difference between us and the Democrats is we really do have a strong bench. I don’t wanna use names, because it’s, you know, inappropriate. But it’s too early.”

Trump Said He’s ‘Not a Nazi’ & Blames the Press for Rhetoric

“Usually, when people talk, they’re not the problem. It’s the ones that don’t talk, in terms of that,” Trump said. “But, yeah, I think it’s — it’s a lot of the rhetoric. Look, they call me a Nazi all the time. I’m not a Nazi. I’m the opposite. I’m somebody that’s saving our country. But they call me Nazi.”

The president continued by noting that the press is “largely responsible” for the negative headlines about him.

“They have talking points, you know? They have just talking points. And the press is largely responsible for it,” Trump claimed. “The fake news, what they’ve done — I think one of the greatest terms I’ve ever come up with is ‘fake news.’ What they’ve done to our country is very bad. They have to change around. Now, nobody believes the fake news.”

Trump Appearing on 60 Minutes, First Interview Post-CBS Lawsuit

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

President Donald Trump is returning to 60 Minutes for his first interview since suing CBS, which resulted in parent company Paramount Global settling in a $16 million payout.

Norah O’Donnell sat down with Trump on Friday for an exclusive interview that will air on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Over the summer, Paramount settled a lawsuit Trump filed over the editing of a 60 Minutes interview with 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Part of the settlement agreement included stipulations for Paramount to release 60 Minutes transcripts of interviews with presidential candidates post-air.

In addition to returning to 60 Minutes for the first time since his lawsuit, Trump’s sit-down will be his first on the CBS News program as the 47th president and first since David Ellison was named the new Paramount Skydance CEO and The Free Press‘ Bari Weiss was named CBS News editor-in-chief. The president formerly backed out of a planned interview with Scott Pelley in October ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

His lawsuit against CBS claimed “deceptive doctoring” in Harris’ 60 Minutes interview. Before the settlement, legal observers’ predicted that the suit would be dismissed due to industry norms pertaining to interview editing. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter Paramount believed the lawsuit could deter Skydance’s deal to acquire the company, which required regulatory approval, including the transfer of FCC licenses. The merger was later approved in August.

Following the settlement, the legal team for President Trump said in a statement, “With this record settlement, President Donald J. Trump delivers another win for the American people as he, once again, holds the fake news media accountable for their wrongdoing and deceit.”

“CBS and Paramount Global realized the strength of this historic case and had no choice but to settle,” continued the statement. “President Trump will always ensure that no one gets away with lying to the American People as he continues on his singular mission to Make America Great Again.”

Then-CBS co-CEO George Cheeks, meanwhile, said at a shareholders meeting, “Companies often settle litigation to avoid the high and somewhat unpredictable cost of legal defense, the risk of an adverse judgment that could result in significant financial as well as reputational damage, and the disruption to business operations that prolonged legal battles can cause. A settlement offers a negotiated resolution that allows companies to focus on their core objectives, rather than being mired in uncertainty and distraction.”

CBS News’ Bari Weiss Shocks ’60 Minutes’ Staff With Question About Why Country Thinks They’re ‘Biased’

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Just days after taking over as editor-in-chief of CBS News, Bari Weiss has reportedly already rocked the boat with some of her staffers. The New York Times published a report on Sunday, October 19, about alleged tension between Weiss and the staff of 60 Minutes following a meeting on Tuesday, October 14.

Weiss reportedly asked the staff, “Why does the country think you’re biased?”

“The inquiry was met with stunned awkwardness, according to three people who recounted details from the private session in Midtown Manhattan,” Michael M. Grynbaum and Benjamin Mullin wrote in the New York Times piece. “The staff of 60 Minutes, the nation’s most-watched news program, view their coverage as firmly nonpartisan and reject criticism from President [Donald] Trump and his allies who argue that it has a liberal slant.”

President Trump sued CBS News’ parent company, Paramount Global, in 2024, claiming 60 Minutes deceptively edited an interview with Kamala Harris in her favor. Trump and Paramount Global reached a $16 million settlement earlier this year, which has brought the media company under much scrutiny.

Weiss just became the editor-in-chief of CBS News on October 6, but has wasted no time making waves. According to the NYT report, there has been a mixed reaction among CBS News staff to their new leader.

“Some staff members are hopeful that Ms. Weiss will bring some needed energy and ideas to a news division that has struggled to adapt to the digital age,” Grynbaum and Mullin added. “Her interest in big interviews and bigger audiences has buoyed some CBS journalists, who think their network, which has cycled through five presidents in five years, needs a shake-up.”

The journalists also reported that Weiss is “impressing” some top executives at CBS, while “confounding” others. Plus, they noted, she has already been personally involved in some interview bookings with subjects who are right-leaning.

“Ms. Weiss, an ardent supporter of Israel … helped book an interview with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister,” the report said. “She later worked with 60 Minutes producers to land Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, the architects of President Trump’s Middle East peace plan, for this Sunday’s episode.”

bitchy | Prince Harry & King Charles met for tea at Clarence House for 55 minutes

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Honestly, I believed that Prince Harry and King Charles would meet at some point this week. I realized that it would happen when I noticed that Harry had not said one word (one way or the other) about meeting his father. If Charles had rejected him or shut down the request, Harry would have called him out publicly yet again. So, long story short, Harry went to Clarence House on Wednesday afternoon. Charles had flown back to London from Balmoral on Wednesday morning. Charles didn’t come back to London solely to meet Harry – Charles has been receiving cancer treatments mid-week in London for the past 18 months or so. That’s why Charles was back in London, but sure, he made a point of having a 55-minute meeting with Harry as well.

Prince Harry and King Charles have reunited. It marks the first time that the father and son have met in person since February 2024, days after King Charles, 76, revealed he was being treated for an undisclosed cancer.

Prince Harry, 40, was seen arriving by car at Clarence House, the King’s London residence, around 5:20 p.m. local time on Sept. 10. He was inside for about 55 minutes before departing.

Following the meeting, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King had a private tea at Clarence House with the Duke of Sussex and said no further details would be shared. A spokesperson for Prince Harry echoed the same, reiterating that father and son met for tea and that there would be no additional comment.

The Duke of Sussex returned to the U.K. on Sept. 8 to support some of his key charities and causes. After arriving in his home country and paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth on the third anniversary of her death on Sept. 8, Harry attended the WellChild Awards. The following day, he traveled to Nottingham, England — about 130 miles north of London — to highlight the work being done for young people there.

The father and son were both in London on Wednesday. The Duke of Sussex visited Imperial College London’s Centre for Blast Injury Studies that day, greeting fans who were waiting outside as he left. Shaking hands and snapping selfies, he excused himself by saying, “I have to go, I’m so late… I’ve got to go, I’ve got to go. Nice to meet you guys,” according to the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, the King was spotted boarding a plane from Scotland, where he was spending time at Balmoral Castle in recent weeks, to the capital city.

[From People]

I could not believe the kind of mainstream coverage this got. The Wall Street Journal, WaPo, NBC News, the BBC, Sky News, and more, all providing breathless coverage like it was a 21st century Potsdam. CNN even had “breaking news” coverage with the banner and everything. Anyway, I’m glad they saw each other for the first time in a year and a half. On Harry’s side, I think he just wanted to see his father and be able to hold his only living parent for a brief moment. On Charles’s side, who even knows. I think it was mostly Charles acknowledging that he can’t continue to ignore this huge problem, which is the years-long Sussexit fallout and estrangement. Also: At Harry’s evening event for Invictus (more on that in another post), he was asked about his father by a reporter. Harry said: “Yes, he’s great, thank you.”

I said this on Twitter yesterday, but it’s worth repeating here: we’ve got at least two full weeks of Kensington Palace rage-briefing over this meeting. Plates are being smashed, pillows are being thrown, and there’s enough incandescent rage to power all of the lightbulbs in England.

AIIMS gastroenterologist warns ‘don’t spend more than 10 minutes on toilet’; shares 8 simple tips for healthy gut

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Good gut health is more than just smooth digestion, it influences immunity, mood, energy levels, and overall wellness. With so many lifestyle and dietary factors at play, it’s easy for our digestive system to fall out of balance.

Dr. Saurabh Sethi shares tips for maintaining a balanced digestive system.(Freepik)

Dr Saurabh Sethi, a gastroenterologist trained at AIIMS, Harvard, and Stanford Universities, shares in his September 10 Instagram post 7 practical tips to improve gut health and keep your system functioning at its best. (Also read: AIIMS gastroenterologist shares top 10 gut friendly snacks you can have daily: Makhana, sprouted moong chaat, buttermilk )

1. Don’t strain or linger on toilet

Spending more than 10 minutes sitting and pushing can increase the risk of hemorrhoids. About 1 in 20 U.S. adults develops them. If fibre isn’t enough, pelvic floor therapy may help.

2. Know what’s “normal” for you

Healthy bowel habits can range from three times a week to three times a day (Rome IV criteria). The key is comfort, not strict frequency.

3. Go easy on painkillers

Frequent use of NSAIDs like ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin can increase the risk of GI bleeding up to fourfold and damage the gut lining. If you need them often, ask your doctor about safer alternatives.

4. Cut back on sugary drinks and ultra-processed meats

Diets high in processed foods are linked to higher colorectal cancer risk. Switching to a Mediterranean-style diet can lower this risk by about 18%, according to large meta-analyses.

5. Try a bidet

Bidets reduce irritation and are more hygienic than wiping alone, especially helpful for hemorrhoids, fissures, postpartum recovery, or loose stools. Basic attachments start around $50.

6. Eat a bibre-rich, varied diet

The average American consumes roughly 15g of fibre per day, far below the recommended 25–38g. Fibre feeds gut microbes, and once certain species are lost, they may not return.

7. For smelly gas, pepto can help

Bismuth subsalicylate can neutralise over 95% of the sulfide gases that cause odour and also help prevent traveller’s diarrhoea. Use only for short-term relief.

8. Seeds are gut superfoods

Just 1–2 tablespoons of chia, flax, or basil seeds provide soluble fibre and prebiotics that support healthy gut bacteria, reduce bloating, and smooth digestion.

Silksong smashes Hollow Knight peak player count in minutes

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

After many long years in the making, Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here, and it broke records (and Steam) mere minutes into its launch.

As the most wishlisted game on Steam, perhaps this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Still, we can’t help but be in awe of what the Australian trio behind Team Cherry has managed to pull off.

Perhaps what makes this record even more impressive is that the original Hollow Knight got a new all-time peak player count the day before Silksong launched.

By entering your details you are agreeing to our terms and conditions and privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.

This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

That peak was 72,916 players, according to SteamDB, which is a huge achievement for a 2D indie Metroidvania that released all the way back in 2017.

An impressive figure, though one that can’t compete with Silksong’s numbers.

Hollow Knight: Silksong hit 89,646 players only 20 minutes after the game launched at 3PM BST 4th September 2025, according to SteamDB.

This number will only grow, and we will keep an eye on what the peak player count ends up being.

As Silksong wasn’t available for pre-order, the number of people scrambling to buy it and install the game managed to crash Steam, with SteamDB going down with the ship too.

Seeing as Silksong released quite early for US players and late in the day in Asia and Oceania, we may see some significant peaks and troughs, and it could be that only by the weekend, we’ll be able to witness Hollow Knight: Silksong’s true power.

Time will only tell, but we can’t wait for the dust to settle so that we can get a proper measure of how the hugely anticipated title performed – and if it has met players’ expectations.

No review code was made available, so players will be making a leap of faith. Make sure to check back in on RadioTimes.com for review roundups and post-launch coverage!

25-year-old man misdiagnosed by doctors for months reveals ChatGPT solved his case in minutes: ‘Crazy they missed it’ | Health

by jummy84 September 2, 2025

ChatGPT, the AI (artificial intelligence) chatbot, has become a go-to for many seeking answers to their problems, be it personal or professional. However, recently, it has been piloted to draft responses to patient questions, too, but their credibility is still up for debate.

A Reddit user found relief from chronic stomach issues after ChatGPT suggested testing for H. pylori. (Representative image) (Freepik)

Also Read | Harvard gastroenterologist shares 8 colon cancer warnings you should never ignore: Constipation, diarrhoea

However, in a unique case, a patient, who was being misdiagnosed by medical professionals, got his life back on track after ChatGPT helped him know the real cause behind his ailments.

Misdiagnosed by doctors, ChatGPT helps a Reddit user

In a post shared on June 14, 2025, on the subreddit r/HPylori – titled ‘Misdiagnosed by doctors for months, ChatGPT solved it in minutes’ –, a user revealed how the AI chatbot helped him recover from H. Pylori, or Helicobacter pylori, a type of bacteria that infects the stomach.

Sharing their predicament, the Reddit user revealed that they had stomach problems for over a year, feeling full too quickly after a meal, and sometimes had chest pressure, bloating, and mild pain after eating. “I did an endoscopy and even a barium x-ray. One doctor said it might be gastroparesis. Another thought it was achalasia. But none of them tested for H. pylori. They all said it didn’t seem necessary,” the user added.

However, when there seemed to be no end to their ailments, they eventually turned to ChatGPT out of desperation. “It suggested H. pylori could still be involved. I decided to get tested privately. The result came back positive. (Positive 220),” the Reddit user wrote.

Once the problem was diagnosed, the Reddit user started triple therapy, and “I already feel better than I have in months. It’s crazy that something so basic was missed. I feel like I finally have a shot at getting my life back.”

How did the internet react?

Reddit users were flabbergasted by the lack of knowledge of the doctors who were doing the treatment. One user commented, “It’s so crazy to me that some doctors are so stupid they miss maybe the most common infection on that planet that up to 50 percent of people across the globe will get.”

Someone wrote, “They are not stupid; they have to follow health insurance requirements. You have to tell all the symptoms possible with h pylori. The doctor I know said that without stomach pain, they will not do the H. pylori test.”

Another commented under the post, “It’s not that they are stupid. Their ego is so big that they don’t care to have curiosity about their patients; they look at you and believe that they already know your problems and solutions.”

What is H. Pylori?

Per the Johns Hopkins Medicine organisation, H. Pylori can damage the tissue in your stomach and the first part of your small intestine (the duodenum), causing pain and inflammation. Per the Cleveland Clinic, the bacteria can also cause peptic ulcers and gastritis.
