Christian LeBlanc Has Michael Baldwin Reclaim His Sharp Edge

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Christian LeBlanc, understandably, departed from Michael Baldwin’s reputation as being the smartest man in the room, earlier this year on The Young and the Restless when he “broke up” with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) over his vendetta with the Abbotts.

The split was emotional and Michael, despite what Victor may have thought, was devastated that he couldn’t find a way to make the mogul see what he was doing was wrong.

LeBlanc had Michael reclaim his reputation for being savvier than his opponents are when he matched wits with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) this week. As a result, TV Insider is honoring LeBlanc with Daytime Performer of the Week honors.

Cane told Michael he’d made a smart move by coming to see him. “I’ll be the judge of that,” Michael responded. Forget about being the judge — Michael quickly showed Cane he was a savvy litigator by refusing to let the mogul have the upper hand. Michael only needed to refer to recent events to show Cane he was not the man in charge.

“What were you expecting? A parade?” Michael calmly remarked to Cane when he wryly commented on how well he’d been received since coming back to Genoa City. Michael reminded his host that his party in France resulted in the death of two men (Damian and Chance) and Cane’s ex-wife Lily (Christel Khalil) being sandbagged, and Nick (Joshua Morrow) was held captive and almost died.

CBS

“And you ticked off Victor by daring – rumor has it – by attempting to pirate his own companies out from under him?” Michael pointed out.

Michael took control of his meeting with Cane by summing up the billionaire’s missteps as if he were making opening remarks in a courtroom. If one were present, a judge may have declared Michael a winner right then and there.

Michael went on to point out to Cane that by manipulating the control of information, he was stirring up trouble. The legal eagle smirked when Cane claimed to be an open book. He took him up on his offer to ask him anything by wanting to know why Cane invited Michael and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) to his chateau along with other Genoa City power players.

“Why did you invite me here tonight?” Michael continued, staring down Cane.

Cane replied by wanting to ask Michael a question. The attorney sighed and quipped, “I don’t think you understand how this works.”

Cane attempted to get control of the meeting by pointing out that he’d heard Michael was out of work. As fans of the actor know, LeBlanc brings a rapid-fire wit to his character. As a result, Michael tends to emerge as the winner when he fires off zingers like, “I prefer to think of it as enjoying my retirement” and “I usually lead with the truth — you should try it sometime.”

Cane asked Michael why he quit Victor’s employ. Rather than reveal the emotional heartbreak that went into the decision, Michael quipped that maybe he wanted more time to take up Ikebana (a quick Google search explains that that’s the Japanese art of flower arranging).

“Just to be clear,” Michael asserted as Cane continued to probe and point out Victor being unreasonable, “not being afraid of something is not the same thing as welcoming it.” Deliveries like this support the statement that Michael’s the smartest man in the room.

When Cane revealed he has employees who enjoy working for him, Michael quipped that Carter (Vincent Stalba), Cane’s homicidal assistant, was a great example of that.

Even in the tensest scenes, LeBlanc has the ability to organically infuse situations with humor. He agreed to hand over his phone to Cane so that he could add his digits to it. “You added it to my favorites,” marveled Michael after receiving it back.

Cane texted Michael what his starting salary could be. “It’s quite the amount,” Michael conceded.

Still, Michael refused to come forward with specifics on his dynamic with Victor. “I will not betray that man,” he insisted.

Cane clearly made inroads with Michael (money tends to do that!). In an effort to claim victory, he pointed out that the attorney wasn’t saying no to his offer. “I’m not saying yes,” responded Michael, his arms defensively folded across his chest.

Michael came to see Cane because he was curious and likely had no intention of being manipulated by him. Ironically, his strength and cunning only made Cane want him on his team even more.

While Michael may be seduced by Cane’s financial offer, Cane would be wise to realize that Michael is loyal to his friends, and he knows how to come out on top, too!

Sinners sees Michael Jordan as identical twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, who return to their hometown in Mississippi in an attempt to turn their backs on their troubled past. Unfortunately, they are met with a greater evil once they’re back home. The film is set in the 1932 American South during the Jim Crow era, when laws perpetuated racial discrimination. The film received widespread acclaim upon release earlier this year in April, and went on to collect over $366 million worldwide. From Pedro Pascal to Tom Cruise, several Hollywood stars praised the film and congratulated the makers on its success.

Chris Brown Addresses Michael Jackson & Usher Comparison

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Roommates, it looks like Chris Brown is ready to put the constant Michael Jackson comparisons to bed. He’s even tired of folks putting him up against other GOATs like Beyoncé and Usher. Here’s what CB had to say…

RELATED: Oop! Chris Brown Drops SPICY Video For His Haters Amid ‘Breezy Bowl’ Complaints (WATCH)

Let The Greats Be Greats!

Chris Brown posted a long message on his Instagram Stories about all the debates he’s been hearing over who’s better. He talked about Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, and Usher, saying each of them is the BEST in their own lane. Chris also shared his frustrations. He claimed that back then, nobody debated who was the best. Instead, people appreciated artists for being themselves, inspiring a whole generation.

“I SEE ALOT OF PODCAST AND DEBATES ON WHOS BETTER. And truth is that we all shine bright in our own way. ILL NEVER SAY IMA BETTER ANYTHING. IM just being the best Chris Brown,” Breezy wrote.

However, he did add that he’s been inspired by all the artists he mentioned. He does want people to respect his name and know that he’s also inspired those who come after him.

“IN SOME WAY SHAPE OR FORM THESE ARTIST HAVE INFLUENCED ME TO GO HARD AND NEVER GIVE UP. I JUST WANT TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR HELPING PEOPLE WITH MY GIFTS,” Chris continued.

Breezy’s Take On Being Compared To Michael Jackson

As for the comparison to Michael Jackson, Chris said MJ will always be the GOAT and that’s not up for debate. “MICHAEL JACKSON WILL FOREVER BE THE GOAT AND THAT’S NOT EVEN ARGUABLE.”

However, he did say that he thinks individually they have done their BIGGEST one’s in the music industry and he hopes their efforts and talents will be an inspiration for those that come after. “HOPEFULLY WHAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED INDIVIDUALLY WILL SPARK THE MINDS AND HEARTS OF THE NEXT GENERATIONS AFTER US. We have an obligation to keep this art form alive,” CB added.

Fans Weigh In After Chris Brown Speaks On The Comparisons

Team Breezy was in TSR’s comment section sharing their thoughts on Chris’ message. Several fans gave him his flowers and said he has definitely achieved legend status.

Instagram user @kolormekaprice wrote, “Thank youuuuu Chrissss!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥please stop comparing that man to MJ! We love Chris for Chris 🔥🔥🔥🔥”

Instagram user @shanthis.lifestyle wrote, “This is one of the MANY reason love me some CB!! We can give flowers to each without comparing them😍😍”

While Instagram user @slimbarbiestar wrote, “Translation – Stop comparing him. How many times he gotta say it lol.”

Then Instagram user @queenjah wrote, “A legend speaking on other legends is legendary. All are in their own lanes. ✨️💫”

Another Instagram user @deleece_ wrote, “Aside from being an amazing artist, his humility makes him even greater 💯”

Instagram user @5ive5ifty5ive wrote, “he’s not lying, comparison is the thief of joy and the highest human act is to inspire!”

Then another Instagram user @mrinternational_ded wrote, “I like how he mentioned Usher! Cause that’s my goat! 😤🔥”

Finally, Instagram user @ooohsnapdatsjos wrote, “And this why I’m forever TEAM BREEZY ❤️❤️❤️”

The Paper (l-r) Domhnall Gleeson as Ned Sampson, Tim Key as Ken, Chelsea Frei as Mare, Melvin Gregg as Detrick

Greg Daniels, Michael Koman Explain

by jummy84 September 5, 2025
written by jummy84

[This story contains some spoilers from the first season of The Paper.]

The last episode of The Office aired in May 2013, and it seems like talk of rebooting, reviving or spinning off the series started, oh, about two weeks after that.

A check of the historical record reveals that’s not quite the case. But reports of a reboot or revival have periodically burbled up since at least 2017 (not including a couple of spinoff ideas during the run of the show that never came to be). Meanwhile, the mockumentary format that The Office popularized has flourished in a host of other series, which did not go unnoticed among the show’s producers.

“We were watching as so many others were basically doing derivative versions of our show, whether they were paying homage to us, honoring us or ripping us off,” executive producer Ben Silverman tells The Hollywood Reporter. “It prompted Greg [Daniels] and I to just really focus hard on [the idea that] we need to enter the fray as well.”

They did just that with The Paper, an indirect spinoff of The Office that premieres its full, 10-episode season Thursday on Peacock. Daniels, who developed the American Office and was its showrunner for four seasons, created the new series with Michael Koman (Nathan for You). The show is set in the offices of a historic but now gutted Toledo, Ohio, newspaper, the Truth-Teller, and centers on an optimistic new editor, Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson), and his efforts to restore some of the publication’s former glory with help from its (non-journalist) employees.

“There was a lot of push to do a spinoff of The Office over the years, and I was very reluctant to do it. I said, ‘Look, I don’t want to do a reboot,’ because we couldn’t get most of the cast,” Daniels told THR. “I don’t want to do something where it’s the same characters and we recast them, because our original cast can’t be improved on, in my opinion. So I always said the only way we even consider it is if the same documentary crew made another documentary, and if you were OK with the idea that the connection is really the documentary crew. So it’s really a new show.”

The Paper’s connection to The Office comes first from behind the cameras, as the documentary crew that chronicled Michael Scott, Pam Beesly et al chooses the Truth-Teller as its next subject. (An establishing scene at the former Dunder Mifflin office in Scranton, Pennsylvania, featuring Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration (Robert R. Shafer) lays the groundwork for how they arrive in Toledo.)

Once there, they find that Office regular Oscar Martinez (Oscar Nuñez) is working for the Truth-Teller’s parent company, Enervate — and that he wants absolutely no part of the new project. A title card, however, informs the audience that the release Oscar signed for the first documentary has no end date, so he’s out of luck.

John P. Fleenor/Peacock

“It felt like perhaps [Oscar] had moved to this other city looking to start fresh, and he was enjoying the fact that any old memories might be a little more distant,” says Koman. “And then to have exactly the same camera crew walk into your office …”

“Oscar is so funny,” Daniels adds. “He’s such a strong performer, and it is a character that didn’t have so much closure at the end and the [Office] finale. It’s not like he had left and gone to England, like Toby. He was kind of unchanged. So we thought we could pick up where we left off with him.”

Setting the new series in another work environment wasn’t necessarily the plan from day one, Silverman says: “We debated it — do we do something that’s set in a home life, do we do something [different] since we’ve been in the workplace? Do we focus on something more domestic? Do we focus on something in another kind of bureaucracy? But I think determining that a newspaper, which is connected to a company that was in multiple versions of the paper business, was a really strong way to do it.”

Daniels and Koman say they took pains not to have any of The Paper’s characters — the core cast also includes Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young and Tim Key — map precisely onto those from The Office (Oscar excepted, obviously). They didn’t shy away, however, from playing into some similar dynamics, including a couple of simmering workplace romances.

“Our attempt was for any kind of overlap to be something that is closer just to human nature,” says Koman. “There are certain things like relationships that are going to happen anywhere.”

Daniels adds, “You could take it to an extreme. You could be like, ‘In The Office, they ate food. We’re going to have these characters eat rocks.’ There are going to be love affairs that develop between co-workers. There are going to be jealousies and undermine-y things. That seems like a feature of people in a workplace. But the important thing to us is that they’re brand new characters. They all have different motivations. And because they’re in a workplace where there’s somebody who’s a little bit more inspirational than Michael Scott, it’s more like they have a sense of hope. Their pulse is quickening with the potential of what their job could be. It starts at a pretty beaten-down place, but it’s got a direction, and then maybe they’ll get more hope out of it.”

Daniels and Koman spoke to THR before the news that Peacock had renewed The Paper for a second season. Even so, they weren’t ready to give up any ideas about where the series might go — though the 10-episode season leaves several relationships and storylines open for more exploration.

”The point of these 10-episode streaming situations is there is going to be like a year between seasons, and you want the audience to wonder what’s going to happen,” Daniels says. “Then they’ll find out it might not be anything that they think, but I certainly wouldn’t want to tell them not to wonder about it in the 10 months in between.”

Koman adds, “If we’re lucky enough that people care what happens next, we want to give it as much thought as possible.”

The Paper is now streaming all episodes on Peacock.

Michael Urie was a medical marijuana tester before Ugly Betty fame

by jummy84 August 31, 2025

31 August 2025

Michael Urie was a medical marijuana tester before starring in Ugly Betty.

Ugly Betty star Michael Urie

The 45-year-old star – best known for playing Marc St. James in the hit dramedy series – applied for the role 20 years ago with his friend after spotting the position advertised in the Village Voice magazine.

But while his pal did not get chosen due to health problems, Michael was taken on.

He told Chelsea Handler – who “tried” to get a job as a marijuana tester “so many times” – on a recent episode of her Dear Chelsea podcast: “It was in the Village Voice, and it was a joke.

“We would always joke about it like, you know, they have these ads in the Village Voice, ‘Are they real?’

“And I just answered one. And actually, my good friend, my dearest friend, and I, we were roommates, and we both answered it. And he had this kind of like brain thing.

“It’s not that serious, but at the time, he was like having some seizures and stuff. And so he did not get accepted. And he was so p***** because he had this one little tiny anomaly, and I did get accepted.”

Michael said the experience of testing strains at different strengths was “wild”.

He continued: “And I would go in, it was wild. It was a wild thing. I would go into a hospital, and I would sit in a hospital room, and it was a double blind test.”

The Single All the Way star said he even got “high as f***” and “paranoid” when he did the trials.

Michael added: “So the person administering it to me did not know what they were giving me. And it was always a different level of strength.

“So like one time, I got just high as f***, and I was so stoned, and I was like loopy, like rolling around in the hospital and playing with all the different things.

“This young lady stayed with me, and she made sure … I remember when I would get really high, the days I would get really high, I’d be like, I think it’s double blind, but maybe it’s not. Maybe that’s just what they say.

“And I get paranoid, and then I would take these tests. So they would put me in front of a computer, and I would take these cognitive tests that would be like, a shape would pop up, it’s a triangle or whatever, and fill in the blank.

“Sometimes I was really good at it, and sometimes I wasn’t.

“And then there were days when it was like a placebo.”

And the Shrinking star said marijuana helps him to learn his lines.

He said: “It’s true when you’re stoned that you don’t remember things.

“But I have started, well, I’ve been doing it for a while now, but when I have to learn lines, like a big chunk of text or something, or a scene, I will do it high.

“I will learn it high.

“And then immediately when I’m high, and I try to, if I say, ‘Will you run this with me?’ I won’t be able to do it.

“But then when I go back to it later, sober, it’s there.”

Michael Jackson’s Son Prince Proposes To Longtime Girlfriend, Molly

Prince Jackson, the eldest son of the late Michael Jackson, is getting married.

The 28-year-old revealed on Tuesday (Aug. 26) in an Instagram post that he and longtime girlfriend, Molly Schirmang, are engaged. The two recently celebrated eight years together as a couple.

“8 years down, [infinity] to go. Molly and I have spent a lot of time together and made incredible memories. We’ve traveled the world, graduated and grown so much together. I’m excited for this next chapter in our lives as we continue to grow and make great memories. I love you babs,” the caption read.

In the intimate carousel, Prince shared several pictures of their life together — including moments while hiking, kayaking, and celebrating their college graduations. There’s also adorable photos of them sitting with Jackson family matriarch, Katherine, outside of the family home in Encino, California, and of them cosplaying as Mario and Princess Peach.

His sister, Paris, sent the couple well wishes and commented, “Warms my heart to see how much joy you two bring each other. Happy anniversary love y’all.”

Prince and Molly began dating while he was a student at Loyola Marymount University in 2017. They celebrated their first anniversary in March 2018 by taking a trip together to San Francisco.

That year, he told PEOPLE, “I think that I’m a certain way, and she’s very — I don’t want to say opposite — but complementary in a way that we balance each other out. I’m more aggressive, she’s a little softer. It helps us stay well-rounded.”

He’s mostly kept his relationship out of the public eye.

Carly Pearce Talks Michael Ray Divorce on Bunnie Xo Podcast

Carly Pearce Talks Michael Ray Divorce on Bunnie Xo Podcast

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Since her divorce from fellow country music artist Michael Ray in 2020, Carly Pearce has been outspoken about the split and the fallout from it — most prominently on her 2021 EP 29 and its follow-up album 29: Written in Stone.

Songs like “What He Didn’t Do” and “Diamondback” delved into the emotional tatters of the split. In a new interview on Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast, Pearce notes that the things she wrote about on the 29 projects were pulled from real life.

The former couple initially met in 2018 and married in 2019, which Pearce described as all happening too fast. “I thought he was so cute. I’d heard he’s the nicest guy in the world,” Pearce recalls. “I invited him to my [Billboard Country Airplay] No. 1 party for ‘Every Little Thing.’ Looking back on it, it was a hot and heavy lust. It wasn’t love. It was just passionate.”

She added, “I got married to go the distance. When I married him it was for the right reasons. I think when you travel like this, I thought I was doing the right thing to get married till I was 29. But we didn’t have real conversations and we didn’t really know about each other. We were kind of living this life that wasn’t really reality. I think we didn’t really know each other. I knew the night I got married that I shouldn’t have. I think the best thing that ever happened to me was COVID, because it allowed me to deal with that in private. I think that I probably would have stayed in it longer if I could have avoided it, and not had to… I was embarrassed when it happened…and was heartbroken.”

Pearce filed for divorce less than a year after their wedding. “It wasn’t what I signed up for,” she said, reflecting on the brief marriage. “It just wasn’t the marriage that I know I deserved. I knew that very quickly. We were only married for eight months. Plenty happened to where it was very clear to me this was not, this just wasn’t a marriage.”

Asked if there was infidelity within the marriage, Pearce responded that her 2022 Billboard Hot 100 top 40 hit “What He Didn’t Do” “wasn’t just written out of thin air. … It wasn’t good.”

But Pearce also stressed that she’s ultimately thankful for the lessons learned from the marriage. “Thank you, because you taught me how strong I am. You put me through things that have made me better now. And I don’t wish him evil. I don’t wish anything on him. I’m so glad that I’m not in that anymore,” she said.

When Bunnie Xo asked about a possible “Jolene” in the situation — referencing the title mistress from Dolly Parton’s 1973 country classic — without naming any names, Pearce simply said, “Let’s just say I’m not a fan of her. I’m not a fan of him. I could’ve done so much more than I did.”

Pearce also noted how she had hoped for direct answers in the marriage.

“It’s tough to think that… just leave me instead. I shut my mouth for so long, because I felt like I had to. And I’m not here to blow anybody up. I don’t care anymore. When you are faced with somebody that was a really dark season for you, and then they go and blow it up on the Internet, like…also, you go, ‘I don’t know if he told her we were divorced.’ I don’t know. All I know is … that was not a fun situation for me. i think what’s harder is at the end of it, you want somebody … who is gonna look you in the eye and say, ‘Yeah, I did this.’ … But I never got any of that. I had to piece together a lot of things after the fact. But they were facts.”

A few months after the news of the divorce was made public, fans began speculating that Ray was dating Tyler Reese Tritt (daughter of country singer Travis Tritt), after photos surfaced of the two together.

During the Opry 100 celebration earlier this year, which was televised from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Pearce and Tritt made headlines when Pearce performed “Jolene” during the television special. When some online commenters noticed that the cameras didn’t pan to show Tyler Reese Tritt until after Pearce’s performance, Pearce herself commented, saying, “Aw don’t you worry, I looked right at her.”

Last year, Pearce followed up her 29 projects with Hummingbird, featuring the Chris Stapleton collaboration “We Don’t Fight Anymore” and “Truck on Fire.” “We Don’t Fight Anymore” was nominated for a Grammy Award (Pearce, along with Ashley McBryde, previously won a Grammy for best country duo/group performance for “Never Wanted to Be That Girl”). “We Don’t Fight Anymore” was also nominated for musical event of the year at the CMA Awards.

In 2023, Ray released the single “Spirits and Demons,” featuring Meghan Patrick, and released the EP Dive Bars & Broken Hearts.

Watch Michael Urie Nail His Self-Taped Audition for ‘Shrinking’

by jummy84 August 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Michael Urie is a consummate performer, equally comfortable plying his craft on stage, on camera, or in the bedroom of his New York apartment. The Upper West Side pad is where both he and his partner, actor Ryan Spahn, record most of their self-taped auditions, including the one that landed Urie his Emmy-nominated role as manic best friend Brian on the Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking. The video, shared exclusively with The Hollywood Reporter and shown below, reveals just how dialed in Urie was to the character — even as his scene partner, Spahn, read Jason Segel’s lines in a dry, affectless tone to avoid drawing too much attention to himself. (“The only thing in the world we fight about is self tapes,” Urie says. “And so basically anytime he has an audition, I have an audition, like it gets tense for that reason.”)

Between performances of Oh Mary! on Broadway, Urie spoke with THR to describe his self-tape process and why he prefers it to in-person auditions.

“I’m a fan of self tapes,” says Urie. “I know there’s a lot of people who like to go in and audition in person. I guess that they like the feedback. They like to get notes. But I like a self-tape because it is actually more like what working on TV or film is like. You can do takes. You can decide where you want the camera. You can watch it back.”

And unlike in-person try-outs, where actors often have scripts in hand, self-taping allows auditioners to better prepare and go off book, freeing them up to perform.

The scenes Urie recorded and sent to Shrinking’s producers — Ted Lasso’s Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein — were mostly from the second episode of the show’s first season. “It was really easy to memorize,” Urie says. “It was such a good script — and it was already picked up. It wasn’t just a pilot. It was a real-deal TV show with a big ol’ star, Jason Segel.” (Urie did not yet know that Harrison Ford would be joining the cast.) “This felt like a job I could get. And that’s so all those things make it easier.”

When Urie and Spahn shot the tape, they were both starring in Jane Anger, an off-Broadway comedy written for them by their friend Talene Monahon, about William Shakespeare’s getting writer’s block while on lockdown during the plague. (Parallels with COVID confinement were very much the point.) Urie grew a beard for the first time to play the Bard, which is why he sports one in the audition, and why, by extension, Brian has one on Shrinking.

Unlike Monahon’s fictional version of Shakespeare, Urie didn’t let the lockdown keep him down. Early in the pandemic, he livestreamed a solo performance from his apartment of Buyer and Cellar, the critically acclaimed one-man show he premiered in 2013, about an aspiring actor who takes a job as an employee in the entirely non-fictional mini theme park Barbra Streisand built in her basement. “I think I did over six hundred performances, and that was the only time I ever did it without anyone laughing,” recalls Urie.

The experience may have prepared him for his Shrinking audition a few years later, in which he delivered a finely tuned comedic performance to an all but empty room (and if Spahn was laughing, it wasn’t audible).

Urie claims he forgot about the audition tape shortly after hitting send. “Over the years, I’ve gotten really good at making the audition, sending it away, and then throwing away the materials. Literally. I literally waste the paper. I will throw it away so it’s not even in my home. I won’t keep it just in case I get called back. I get rid of it.”

Several weeks went by before he got a call from his reps. And it sounded like bad news. “They said, ‘Well, we really thought this might go to a screen test.’” Devastated, Urie asked them what happened. “And they were like, ‘You just got it. That’s all.’” No callback required. “Agents love that. They love doing that.”

With that, he learned that he’d gotten booked for 10 episodes of Shrinking. And there was one more thing: “They let me know that they also hired Harrison Ford,” Urie says with a laugh, “so don’t expect much money.”

Good Omens star Michael Sheen still gets “very moved” by show’s fans

While discussing his career, Sheen specifically referenced his working relationship with Tennant and how they had previously often competed for the same parts before working closely together.

Sheen revealed: “Well, David and I, for many years, we knew each other, socially or whatever, and we’d been in one film together – a film called Bright Young Things that Stephen Fry did – but we had no scenes together, so we didn’t really know each other. And maybe that’s because we were often up for the same parts. So there was usually one role that David and I would both be up for.”

The actor noted how their similarities actually made it easier for them to play “light and shade”, also reminding us they almost played each other’s characters in Good Omens.

Sheen noted that the “dance” of them working together often meant that things quickly “clicked” and they developed their characters “off each other”.

Discussing fans of the series, Sheen revealed that he still gets “very moved” by how much it means to them and how it has brought people together, too.

The show has filmed a 90-minute finale, which currently has no set release date, and on which Sheen had no more details to offer during his appearance at the festival.

Neil Gaiman, co-author of Good Omens, exited the TV series after he was accused of sexual assault, which he has strongly denied. He contributed to writing the Good Omens finale but he did not work on the production and his production company Blank Corporation was not involved.

A total of nine women have spoken out against the writer, with their accusations being detailed in a Vulture article published in January 2025, and in a Tortoise Media podcast released in July 2024.

Allegations included claims that Gaiman engaged them in “rough” sex and BDSM without their consent. The novelist has firmly denied any non-consensual or illegal conduct in a statement.

He said: “As I read through this latest collection of accounts, there are moments I half-recognise and moments I don’t, descriptions of things that happened sitting beside things that emphatically did not happen.

“I’m far from a perfect person, but I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Ever.”
