‘Men’s Egos Need Women To Blame’: Fans Defend Anushka Sharma After She Faces Backlash Over Virat Kohli’s ODI Ducks

Recently, an Indian cricketer registered consecutive ODI ducks against Australia for the first time in his career, and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, is once again facing unwarranted criticism. Since Virat Kohli and Anushka made their relationship public and later married in 2017, she has often been blamed for his on-field struggles. Despite years passing, social media trolls continue targeting her after Virat’s recent failures, holding her responsible for his performance. However, Anushka’s supporters have strongly defended her, condemning the unfair backlash and emphasising that an athlete’s performance should never be linked to their partner’s personal life or presence.

Virat Kohli Fans Hold Anushka Sharma Responsible for Consecutive Ducks

A quick search for Anushka’s name on social media reveals countless memes and posts unfairly linking her to Virat’s performance. Many of these posts carry captions such as: “I blame Anushka Sharma for his failure,” and “Virat Kohli is a living example of how having a wrong partner can completely destroy your career. He might feel better about being turned into a “gentleman”. But it came at what cost?” Several others also blamed her for somehow doing ‘irreparable damage’ to his career. One horrendously even wished for her death, writing, “If God is real she died today in London.”

However, Anushka’s fans were quick to push back, calling out the blatant misogyny behind such remarks. Many took to social media to defend her dignity and denounce the unfair blame. One Threads user commented, “It’s cute how men’s fragile egos need a woman to blame every time their favorite player has a bad day.” Another pointed out, “That girl has been getting trolled since their dating era. These people just want to blame others for the poor performance of their favs.” One X user wrote, “Shame on Kohli fans for dragging his wife Anushka Sharma after his second consecutive duck.”

Some fans have speculated that the growing scrutiny could be one reason Virat and Anushka decided to move their family to London. For those unaware, the couple tied the knot in 2017 after years of dating and are proud parents to daughter Vamika and son Akaay. Known for valuing their privacy, they prefer to keep their personal life away from the spotlight. Anushka, who was last seen in the 2018 film Zero, has not announced any new projects since her much-anticipated sports drama Chakda ‘Xpress was reportedly shelved, leaving fans eagerly awaiting her return to the screen.

Study reveals men’s brains shrink faster than women with age, shares what it means for Alzheimer’s risk

Women are more likely to get Alzheimer’s, but brain volume stays stable. Find out more about this contradiction and what it means.

With age, the risks of neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease rise. As one grows older, the brain’s volume also shrinks in size, losing both grey and white matter over time. A study published in PNAS on October 13, 2025, revealed that the brain’s shrinking pace differs by sex, actually. Men’s brains shrink faster than women’s. So if there’s a correlation between brain shrinkage and neurodegenerative disease, what does it say about women’s increased vulnerability to Alzheimer’s disease?

What did the study find?

The study attempted to understand whether the brain tissue, grey and white matter, shrinks faster in men or women with age. So, according to the researchers, men’s brains with age become smaller in volume, particularly the cortex, shrinking more. However, women’s brains lose volume in certain selective areas, and more or less the cortex’s thickness remains stable. Cortex is associated with important cognitive skills like thinking, memory, and decision-making.

Although there’s no significant difference between men and women in regards to the shrinkage of the hippocampus, the brain area associated with memory, at least until old age. Women showed a decline in this area only later in life. But it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s because of a higher risk of neurodegenerative disorders. Instead, it demonstrates that women may live longer, hence the decline appears later because women reach older age more often than men.

What does it mean?

The interesting contradiction is sure to leave people scratching their heads. So, people with Alzheimer’s showcase a shrunken brain. And women are more vulnerable to Alzheimer’s. But here’s the catch: based on the findings, it implies that brain shrinkage doesn’t always indicate disease; it may be a part of the natural ageing process. Still, there needs to be more research to draw a complete picture of why women are likely to have a higher Alzheimer’s risk.

‘Two and a Half Men’s Jon Cryer Made “A Third” Of Charlie Sheen’s Pay

A decade after Two and a Half Men concluded, Jon Cryer has some choice words about his onscreen brother Charlie Sheen.

The 2x Emmy winner recently compared his former co-star to a dictator, recalling that he was paid “a third” of what Sheen made for their CBS sitcom, which ran for 12 seasons from 2003 to 2015.

“He’s in the midst of falling apart in every way that I can imagine, and he’s renegotiating his contract for another year of a show that I’m supposed to be on too,” he explained in the Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen.

“The dictator of North Korea was a guy named Kim Jong-Il. He acted crazy all the time and thus got enormous amounts of aid from countries who were so scared of him that they would shovel money at him,” added Cryer. “Well, that’s what happened here. [Sheen’s] negotiations went off the charts because his life was falling apart. Me, whose life was pretty good at that time, I got a third of that.”

Cryer noted that CBS “pre-sold a couple extra seasons of the show,” which motivated them to “spend this astonishing amount of money on Charlie.”

In Two and a Half Men, hedonistic jingle writer Charlie Harper’s (Sheen) life is thrown for a loop when his recently divorced brother Alan (Cryer) moves into the bachelor’s beachfront house with his son Jake (Angus T. Jones). Following Charlie’s death on the show, billionaire Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher) bought the house and filled out the trio.

Amid his addiction battle, Sheen was fired from the show in 2011 after taking public swipes at CBS, Warner Bros. and series co-creator Chuck Lorre. Season 8 was cut short amid the ordeal, and Kutcher replaced Sheen for the remainder of the series.
