Ms. Rachel Has Poignant Message at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards: ‘Hateful Responses Aren’t What Matters’

We’re always paying attention to what Rachel Accurso, better known to the world as Ms. Rachel, has to say—and not just because she’s mostly speaking in a delightfully high-pitched singsong voice.

The children’s entertainer and entrepreneur, who was honored tonight as one of Glamour’s Women of the Year, addressed the (adult) crowd at this year’s WOTY ceremony, held at The Plaza hotel in New York City.

In her speech, Ms. Rachel reflected on the theme of sisterhood, thanking her mother, who raised her and her sister as a single mom, as well as her actual sister, Rebecca.

“We started a band called the Sisteristics, so I think that’s really in the spirt of sisterhood,” she said, adding, “It was really weird,” to laughter in the room. “She always reminded me that the hateful responses aren’t what matters; what matters are the people who are suffering. And those of us who see things clearly and morally need to support their voices and their calls for justice.”

Ms. Rachel continued with a message of perseverance: “No matter how hard some people try to convince us that empathy is wrong, it’s right,” she said. “No matter how hard people try to convince us that diversity is a weakness, it’s a strength. No matter how hard people try to convince us that love is limited, it’s limitless.”

Speaking earlier to Glamour’s global editorial director, Samantha Barry, Ms. Rachel opened up about her decision to advocate for children all over the world, specifically in areas of crisis such as Gaza and Sudan.

“My love and care for children doesn’t stop at my own children,” she explained. “It doesn’t stop at the children in our country. It embraces every child of the world. I don’t think that our love should end at religion or skin color or where people are born.”

Ms. Rachel arrived to the Women of the Year Awards ceremony alongside her husband, Aron Accurso, whom fans often refer to as Mr. Aron. Though the couple make an adorable pair, all eyes were on Ms. Rachel and her stunning evening gown. Her upcycled dress features embroidery on the capelet and train, the designs drawn from drawings that were sent to her by Gazan children.

“Family Matters” Star Darius McCrary Being Extradited To Michigan Following Arrest For Unpaid Child Support

#DariusMcCrary is on his way back to Michigan….with a little help from law enforcement.

TMZ reports that the #FamilyMatters star was extradited from #California to Michigan today (Oct. 29) following a “fugitive arrest” at the U.S.–Mexico border earlier this month. As reported, McCrary was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection while returning from Mexico. The arrest stemmed from a warrant issued over a missed court appearance tied to unpaid child support. McCrary’s rep told the outlet they weren’t informed in advance about his transfer from a San Diego jail to #Michigan and were unsure whether he was being transported by plane or bus.

‘Family Matters’ actor Darius McCrary under fugitive arrest, held without bail – National

Actor Darius McCrary was arrested earlier this month at the U.S.-Mexico border by the United States Border Patrol for an out-of-state felony warrant and is currently being held in a San Diego jail without bail.

McCrary, best known for playing Eddie Winslow on the sitcom Family Matters, has not yet been sentenced and is not eligible for release. He was arrested on Oct. 5.

His online booking information lists it as a “fugitive arrest,” according to documents obtained by People. The San Diego Court’s website shows McCrary is the defendant in an open criminal case.

The 49-year-old actor was taken into custody at the San Diego border between the United States and Mexico on an outstanding warrant for missing a court appearance in Michigan regarding missed child support, Entertainment Weekly reports.

McCrary’s first court date is set for Oct. 15.

The actor’s rep, Ann Barlow, said in a statement that “he did not know at the time that he had a warrant, or he would’ve taken care of it.”

“He was going to Tijuana, Mexico, partnering with a real estate developer that was building homes for the homeless in Tijuana. Mr. McCrary was there to speak encouragement and light to the homeless,” she continued.

“The missed court appearance that the warrant was stemming from was only because Oakland County sent the notice to appear in court to his P.O. box, giving him only three days to appear in court.”

Barlow claimed that McCrary wasn’t checking his P.O. box as often as he usually does because he was sick.

She alleged that when McCrary opened the notice, he had already missed the date, and she claimed that the “judge was immediately notified with a doctor’s note that he had COVID.”

McCrary has faced legal struggles over the years involving his estranged wife, Tammy Brawner. In February 2019, McCrary had nearly finalized his divorce with Brawner, according to People.

In their divorce judgment, Brawner, a former player for the Harlem Globetrotters, was granted full legal and physical custody of the former couple’s daughter, Zoey.

McCrary was ordered to attend alcohol/drug abuse and batterers’ intervention classes within 12 months and was required to enrol and complete a series of parenting classes. He was also ordered to submit to two random drug tests within 60 days of the judgement.

The Young and the Restless actor was ordered to pay US$1,366 a month in child support, with a base amount of $916 plus $415 in child-care costs.

Brawner filed for divorce from McCrary in March 2017, citing irreconcilable differences.

Years ago, McCrary faced allegations of domestic violence and child abuse. In March 2018, Brawner alleged that the actor “partially dislocated our daughter’s arm.”

Brawner attached medical records that described Zoey’s injury, according to court documents.

She apparently told doctors that Zoey was taken by McCrary to the bathroom and he “grabbed her arm.”

The actor denied the accusation and claimed that he only “grabbed one hand to lift her up and immediately grabbed the other.”

Zoey was reportedly diagnosed with nursemaid’s elbow, or a “pulled elbow,” in which a child’s elbow partially dislocates.

In February 2017, Brawner was granted a restraining order against McCrary after she complained that he had been abusing both her and Zoey.

In those court documents, Brawner reflected on one particular incident in which she claims that McCrary held their daughter over a boiling pot of water and said he wished he never had her.

Brawner also claimed the actor frequently spanked their daughter and sometimes strapped her arms during meals.

She also recalled the incident that had prompted her to obtain a restraining order: She said that on Feb. 10, 2017, McCrary began throwing picture frames and other objects around the house, with some coming dangerously close to hitting their then-infant daughter. She also accused him of hitting her in the head with his forearm.

Brawner claimed that McCrary regularly drank and used drugs and became violent when he was intoxicated.

A judge ruled in favour of Brawner at the time, ordering McCrary to move out of the family home and stay a minimum of 300 feet away from her and their daughter.

EXCLUSIVE: Rahul Dev States Craft Matters More Than Going To Gyms

by jummy84 September 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Rahul Dev confessed that acting matters more than going to the gym and building a body for actors. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor recalls building six-pack abs in the beginning of his career. Scroll down to read what he said and watch the full interview.

Rahul Dev States Craft Matters More Than Going To Gyms

When asked about the struggles faced by him in the industry, the actor said, “Agar aap yaha negative roles se aage aagaye, toh mujhe kai baar lagta tha ki yaar koi humein dusre kisam ke roles de, not purely hero-villain wala chakkar. Kyunki main is industry ka pehle se hissa nahin hu, bahar se aaya hu.
Aur jin logon se main seekhne ki koshish kar raha tha uss time ki craft hota kya hai. Sabse pehle toh yeh hai ki craft kya hai aapka? Lekin uss yeh bhi disha galat ho gayi thi ki hum log sirf six-pack banane mein lage hue the.”

He further added, “Woh bhi ek tarah se kaam aa gaya Champion mein, unhe ek balwan negative actor chahiye tha Sunny ke opposite Aur unka screen image itna bada tha, matlab yaar, jo aadmi handpump ukhaad ke poori train wapas le aaye Hindustan, sochiye na!”

Rahul Dev On Physical Training

Talking about actors that focus on physical training for their acting careers, Rahul said, “Toh toh uss wajah se, aur jab aap ek kisi shaili mein tayyar nahin hote, toh mujhe lagta hai ki bohot saare log jab mujhse milte hain bolte hain, yaar main training kar raha hoon acting ki aur gym ja raha hoon.
Yaar gym aap tab jao zaroor lekin Main yeh isliye keh raha hoon kyunki logon ko lagta hai ki yaar exercise bada important hai. Lekin mujhe lagta hai ki kisi bhi director, jab aapse milta hai na, especially achhe wale directors, ya koi accha writer hai..ab toh casting directors bhi bohot accurate aa gaye hain ki kaunsa role chahiye.”

He added, “Phir doosra yeh hai ki director aur kahani mein kya depth dikhana chah raha hai voh. Uske irdh-girdh ke characters select hote hain aajkal. Aur kabhi-kabhi ho sakta hai aap unhe convince kar do ki yaar humein le lo, lagta toh nahin hoon waise magar aapko dikha dunga. Woh again kismaat hai, woh aapki conviction hai. But in the end, they are very clear. Directors are very clear who they want to cast, aur casting directors bhi. Brief unke paas already hota hai. Main uss accha kaam ki baat kar raha hoon jo ab ho raha hai.”

Rahul Dev will be seen in Welcome to the Jungle and The Saga of Rashtriya Rifles.

written by jummy84

The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) has today revealed the theme for the 2026 Knowledge Monday program, along with the updated Advisory Committee that will help shape the event’s highly anticipated learning platform.

In 2026, the program theme “Expertise Matters!” will shine a spotlight on the credibility, clarity and strategic importance of the business events industry. The theme champions professionals who bring deep expertise — recognising patterns before problems arise, navigating complexity with composure, and uniting people with purpose and precision.

Building on the success of 2025’s “We Matter!” theme, where the focus was on self-acknowledgement and self-leadership, “Expertise Matters!” continues the conversation by elevating the role of industry expertise in driving progress, creating impact, and transforming how people connect and grow.

Curated by BEAMexperience Founder El Kwang , Knowledge Monday will open AIME on 9 February 2026, featuring keynote speakers, thought-leaders, and industry innovators who will inspire and empower more than 1500 global event professionals.

Kwang says the new theme is a natural evolution of the journey begun in 2025.

“The success of ‘We Matter!’ in 2025 laid the essential groundwork. With ‘Expertise Matters!’ we evolve the conversation, because in the age of AI, being deeply human has never been more relevant. What sets our industry apart is not just what we know, but how we express and apply that expertise,” he says.

Guiding the development of the topics and speaker line-up is the Knowledge Monday Advisory Committee , made up of eight leaders from across the Asia Pacific business events industry. The Committee works collaboratively to ensure the program sparks interest, stirs debate, and engages all areas of the sector.

The 2026 Advisory Committee comprises:

  • Ashleigh Cooper, Events Manager, Charter Hall
  • Maggie Diasinos, Account Director, MCI Australia
  • Max Jantasuwan, Founder & CEO, Events Travel Asia Group
  • Ronald Lim, Business Events Strategist, Think Event by Think Tank Productions
  • Sarah Markey-Hamm, CEO, ICMS
  • Denise Sorrell, Director of Events, Australian Dental Industry Association
  • Felicity Zadro, Founder & Managing Director, Zadro
  • New for 2026: Anna Patterson, Founder & Chief Amazement Officer, Sight Agency

AIME Show Director Silke Calder says the theme underscores the vital role of expertise in shaping the industry’s future.

“At AIME, our mission is to provide a platform that reflects the credibility and confidence of our industry, bringing together the best minds, the most innovative ideas, and the leaders who are redefining what’s possible,” she says.

“With the guidance of El Kwang and BEAMexperience, and the dedication of our esteemed Advisory Committee, we are able to shape a Knowledge Monday program that truly reflects the strength and insight of our industry. ‘Expertise Matters!’ highlights the knowledge and insight that drive meaningful outcomes for businesses and communities worldwide. Knowledge Monday in 2026 will empower our attendees to step forward as leaders, confident in the impact they create.”

The Knowledge Monday program is attended by Hosted Buyers, Hosted Media and Exhibitors, while Visitor Buyers may purchase a ticket upgrade to attend.

AIME 2026 will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) 9–11 February 2026. Returning with its biggest edition yet delivered by Calder and her team at Talk2 Media & Events, the show will span 11 bays and host more than 700 exhibitors, 700 hosted buyers, and over 20,000 pre-scheduled appointments.

The trade show floor, open on days two and three, is where business happens, featuring a dynamic program of pre-scheduled appointments, networking opportunities, and experiential showcases from across the global events sector.
