Konradsen & Gia Margaret Share New Song “Nick Of Time”: Listen

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Usually Konradsen songs feature one impossibly gorgeous voice: that of Jenny Marie Sabel, who gently coos and murmurs her way through the Norwegian band’s music as if offering a comforting hand. Their new one has two such voices. “Nick Of Time,” a new one-off Konradsen single today, is a collaboration with Chicago’s Gia Margaret, who harmonizes with Sabel while also contributing piano and synth to the arrangement.

On Instagram, Konradsen write:

A fun childhood memory is getting online friends, like cyber bff @giamargaret has been since 2019. Our new song Nick of Time is a result of bouncing stuff between Norway and Chicago during the past year. So much better than nudging on msn.

Margaret Howell Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

This may be the only collection where the humble, functional garb of the postal worker is a source of inspiration. (And actually, let’s hear it for postal workers, for their public service, sometimes against all odds.) But then this is Margaret Howell we’re talking about, the British designer who has raised the everyday and the familiar to an art form and made some of the best clothes—real, thoughtful, intelligent, sensitive clothes—of this or any season. These were most definitely not about the hoopla of spring 2026’s big reset or whatever we’re calling it; rather, the pleasure to be found when things go quiet and still after it, and we all get to thinking, Well, what are we actually going to wear?

“This collection is about ease and balance,” Howell said. “I wanted the clothes to be relaxed, with soft tailoring and generous shapes. It’s about proportion, always with a sense of wear. Pieces work quietly together comfortably.” Which takes us back to the mailman. Howell delivered a vintage uniform: short, zip-front jacket in crisp black wool, paired with matching tailored shorts—shorts were a recurring motif here, the basis for her vision of spring’s suiting, irrespective of gender—and worn with a striped shirt that, to the naked eye, looked conventional enough until one noticed the contrasting striped bands on its short sleeves.

In essence, this calibration of something prosaic was typical of the joys on offer here: The gray woolen sweater bonded so that while it looked like a conventional crewneck, it actually had a much sportier hand when you felt it, and the Ventile jackets with their storm-flap collars like cut-down trench coats, the roomy but abbreviated silhouette adding a bit of an edge. There was also Howell’s throwback to the ’90s, her ’90s, with small, neat jackets—in linen-silk, say, in a delicious shade of earthy brown, part of her palette along with parchment, pewter, chamomile, and a dusty pink so delicate it looked like the memory of the color—over a long, slim skirt with a deeper slit than in the past. The update was to make it easier to move in it, the result of the team trying it on and giving their feedback.

That’s not the only way Howell’s colleagues helped with the collection: The dotted silk scarf that popped up here and there came about because a long-term employee of Howell’s had been wearing hers, which is decades old, and seeing it on her, Howell wanted to bring it back. There’s something charming about that; a gesture of something treasured and used finding its way back into the spotlight, but without any of the attendant hoopla that has become so much the story of fashion today. Instead, for Howell, it’s a constantly measured and unshowy state of what’s past, what’s present, and what’s future.

Miguel, Margaret Zhang Reveal 1-Year-Old Child In Birthday Video

Miguel Blurs Child’s Face In Reveal Video

Miguel revealed his fatherhood news a little over a month before his fifth album drops in October. He did not indicate why he and Margaret waited a year to introduce their little one to fans. It’s also unclear why he didn’t mention the pregnancy, despite the few posts Zhang shared of her baby bump.

And that’s not all. Yes, the singer opted to share his child with the world, but not fully. The sweet video shows Miguel holding the 1-year-old, who was wearing a loose romper. They appeared to be standing in front of a crowd as the baby tried to hold up their finger. But that’s all we see as the child’s face is blurred.

“Our baby turned 1 today !!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELITO !!! We love you so much! So proud and honored that you chose us to be your parents. Papá wrote you a song – hope it always reminds you of how loved you are 🖤🖤🖤,” Miguel wrote in his caption.

The cover art for Miguel’s new track, Angel’s Song, seems to be a photo of his and Margaret’s hands near Angelito’s thigh.

What’s Tea With The Singer & Margaret Zhang?

It’s unclear whether Miguel and Margaret Zhang are in a romantic relationship or co-parent Angelito exclusively. Though Miguel tagged the 32-year-old in his Instagram post and used “we” in his caption, she did not appear in the video. She also hasn’t slid into the comment section. He credited her as the director of the short birthday clip. While Miguel was the first to (kinda) reveal their child, Margaret has dropped more than motherhood hints in the last year. Her Instagram feed features several posts of Zhang rocking her baby bump in public and, what seems to be, in private.

So, who is Margaret Zhang? Fans were digging for the answer after Miguel debuted her as his child’s mother. While that’s now one of her roles, she also has a resume full of others, especially in the fashion world. She went from blogging in 2009 to running Vogue China from 2021 to 2024. In between, she’s worked for global luxury brands like Dior and Gucci and provided creative direction for magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and Elle, per Business of Fashion. She’s also a filmmaker and photographer.

What Happened With Nazanin Mandi?

For those still playing catch-up, Miguel and Nazanin Mandi ended their on-and-off-again love story three years ago. They dated for about 17 years, married in November 2018, and briefly split from September 2021 until February 2022. They officially ended their romance again months later. Documents released in October 2022 revealed that Naz filed for the dissolution of their marriage in California and cited irreconcilable differences. They did not have any children during their time together.

While Miguel has moved forward in some capacity, it’s unclear whether Nazanin is dating, plans to become a mother, or maintains a cordial friendship with her ex-husband.

John Candy wasn’t just a comedy legend on screen — he was also a devoted husband and father off it. The Uncle Buck and Planes, Trains and Automobiles star was married to Rosemary Margaret Hobor from 1979 until his untimely death in 1994. Together, they raised two children, Jennifer and Christopher, who have both gone on to honor their father’s legacy. Most recently, they worked behind the scenes on the new documentary John Candy: I Like Me, which features never-before-seen footage and intimate family memories.

With the project shining a fresh spotlight on Candy’s life, fans are also curious to know more about the woman who stood by his side through it all: his wife, Rosemary. Learn more below.

Who Was John Candy Married To?

Candy was married to Rosemary Margaret Hobor, an artist, ceramicist, and sculptor. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pair met in the 1970s—via a blind date—and tied the knot in 1979, remaining together until John’s passing in 1994.

“They met on a blind date,” Jennifer told the outlet. “They went out on a date and enjoyed each other, and then my dad reached out to Mom asking if she could help him type out a script.”

Who Are John Candy’s Children?

Candy and his wife had two children: Jennifer (born 1980) and Christopher (born 1984). Both went into the entertainment industry and helped co-produce John Candy: I Like Me.

What Is John Candy: I Like Me About?

The documentary celebrates Candy’s career while revealing the man behind the comedy. It features never-before-seen home videos, interviews with friends, and heartfelt stories from his family. Director Colin Hanks explained, “When you hear the name John Candy, your face lights up. He wasn’t just a great actor; he was an even better person.”

Producer Ryan Reynolds echoed the sentiment, calling Candy “a national treasure” and admitting, “I’m a superfan.”

The film also includes reflections from Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Catherine O’Hara, and Macaulay Culkin. Culkin recalls Candy as having a “paternal” presence on set, saying, “I remember John caring when not a lot of people did.”

He will make you laugh. He will make you cry. Just like he always did.

Alberta Book Ban Paused After Margaret Atwood Mocks Measure

Alberta Book Ban Paused After Margaret Atwood Mocks Measure

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Try to ban The Handmaid’s Tale and you’ll face the literary scorn of Margaret Atwood. Alberta’s government has learned as much from its now paused censorship measure.

In a short story published online this past weekend, Atwood slammed MAGA-ish Premier Danielle Smith, “selfish rapacious capitalism,” Ayn Rand fanboys, and the hypocrisy of paying “no attention to what Jesus actually said about the poor and the Good Samaritan and forgiving your enemies.” For former radio host Smith, Atwood saved a special bit of Serena Joy (if you’ve seen the Emmy winning Hulu series that ran from 2017 to 2025, you’ll get it): “So they lived happily ever after. But while they were doing that The Handmaid’s Tale came true and Danielle Smith found herself with a nice new blue dress but no job. The end.”

Proving you should never doubt the power of the pen (or in this case, the post), and that most bullies can’t take a punch, Premier Smith’s government today announced via an email to school boards the ban was being halted “until further notice.” Education and Childcare Minister Demetrios Nicolaides stated that more info about the ban/not ban would become clear over the next week or so.

While widely-acclaimed, The Handmaid’s Tale was among the 200 books slated to be pulled from the school shelves in the oil-rich Canadian province because of alleged sexually explicit material.

In July, the Education and Childcare Ministry of Smith’s government ordered local school boards to institute the policy (read the original NSFW Ministerial Order here) by October, a month into the school year. Under the policy, ninth graders and below wouldn’t be allowed any access to such books, while those in Grade 10 and up would only be allowed to read such material if it was deemed educationally appropriate.

The often-explicit Bible was exempt, but along with Atwood’s 1985 novel on a theocratic takeover of the USA , Aldous Huxley’s classic Brave New World and Maya Angelou’s autobiography I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings were among the 200 books the Edmonton Public School board said last week were going under lock and key because of the new provincial policy.

That just wasn’t on with Margaret Atwood.

The prolific 85-year-old scribe took to social media on August 31 to offer a “piece of literature by me, suitable for seventeen-year-olds in Alberta schools, unlike — we are told — The Handmaid’s Tale. (Sorry, kids; your Minister of Education thinks you are stupid babies.)”

That prologue of sorts might be the most blunt, literally and figuratively part of the 196-word yarn, which was picked up, reposted and liked all over the globe. You can read it here:

Here’s a piece of literature by me, suitable for seventeen-year-olds in Alberta schools, unlike — we are told — The Handmaid’s Tale. (Sorry, kids; your Minister of Education thinks you are stupid babies.)

John and Mary were both very, very good children. They never picked…

— Margaret E Atwood (@MargaretAtwood) August 31, 2025

Not long after her government walked back its book ban measure, for now, Premier Smith Tuesday said the revamped goal was to take books with pornographic images out of the libraries and to leave the classics alone.”

On this side of the border, the classics and soon to be classics are not being left alone, in a potentially good way.

Handmaid’s Tale star and EP Elisabeth Moss will executive produce a sequel based on Atwood’s 2019 book The Testaments alongside THT collaborators Bruce Miller and Warren Littlefield. Hulu hasn’t given a release date yet for the series, but production on Season 1 started back in April.

Wonder if a certain Western Canadian politician may be making an inadvertent cameo?
