“What is the reason?” “This was no accident…” The Network has unveiled the first official trailer for a new murder mystery series called The Artist, ready for viewing this fall. The Network is yet another streaming platform entirely online – this one is entirely free and has nothing but original content. The Artist is a new series from the same director as The Green Veil. In the twilight of the Gilded Age, murder strikes the estate of an eccentric and failing tycoon. As he hosts the era’s biggest celebrities including Thomas Edison, Edgar Degas, and Evelyn Nesbit – lies, mystery and ambition collide as the truth is shockingly revealed. By night’s end, the mogul is found dead, igniting a historical murder mystery. Featuring an impressive, eccentric cast: Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer, Danny Huston, Hank Azaria, Patti Lupone, Katherine McPhee, Clark Gregg, Ever Anderson, and Zachary Quinto as attorney Delphin Delmas. This definitely looks kooky and amusing, with some additional wackiness in its story & with all these characters together. Enjoy.

The Artist is a new series created and written and directed by filmmaker Aram Rappaport, director of the films Innocent, Summer Song, Syrup, The Crash, John Leguizamo in John Leguizamo’s Latin History for Morons, and “The Green Veil” series previously. It was filmed in Connecticut last year. Produced and developed by The Network – the “Always Original, Always Free” streaming service that launched in 2024. Executive produced by Aram Rappaport & Hilary Shor. The Network will release Rappaport’s murder mystery series The Artist streaming on their new platform with two portions debuting this fall – Part 1 available on November 27th, 2025 (Thanksgiving Day) then Part 2 available on December 25th, 2025 (Christmas Day) later this year. The actress, 41, has three children with her husband Taylor Goldsmith – sons August ‘Gus’ Harrison, born in 2021, and Oscar ‘Ozzie‘ Bennett, born a year later, as well as daughter Louise ‘Lou’ Everett, who arrived in 2023.

Mandy has now told People about life imitating art on This Is Us: “The overwhelming takeaway (from the show) is just being a parent now.

“Watching the show through that lens is really fascinating for me and for (co-star) Chris (Sullivan), because we both were parents towards the very end of the show.”

Reflecting on her early years filming the NBC series, she added: “Looking back on those earlier seasons, I think, ‘How the heck did I know what I was doing?’ I didn’t know how to change a diaper, I didn’t know what was going on. It’s pretty funny to think back to those early days.”

Mandy, who has partnered with Beyfortus, a treatment used to prevent RSV infections in babies and young children, starred in This Is Us from September 2016 until May 2022 and followed the lives of the Pearson family over several decades.

Mandy played Rebecca Pearson, who with her husband Jack, portrayed by Milo Ventimiglia, raised three children.

The ensemble cast also included Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Justin Hartley and Susan Kelechi Watson.

The drama series was nominated for 39 Emmy Awards and won four, including the Television Academy Honors in 2017.

Since its conclusion, Mandy, Sterling and Chris have launched That Was Us, a rewatch podcast revisiting episodes of the series.

Mandy told People the project had jogged memories of storylines she had forgotten.

She said: “I think we’re discovering we have a real blind spot for a couple of seasons, where it wasn’t the beginning of the show, and it wasn’t the end.

“So things are a little hazy, and it’s pretty revelatory when we watch these episodes again. Like, ‘Oh wow, I totally forgot about that’.”
