The Next Big Threat: James Gunn Teases Brainiac’s Arrival In Superman: Man Of Tomorrow | Glamsham.com

written by jummy84

Following the massive success of Superman earlier this year, James Gunn has completed the second draft of the highly anticipated sequel, Superman: Man of Tomorrow. The film will once again star David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and is set for release on July 9, 2027.

Gunn, who serves as co-head of DC Studios, took to social media on September 22 to share a sneak peek of the screenplay. He posted an image of the script’s cover, crediting himself alongside Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. However, it was a subtle illustration in the post that sent fans into a frenzy: a drawing of a brain.

Many fans believe this is a clear hint that the film’s villain will be Brainiac, one of Superman’s most iconic enemies. Social media was quickly flooded with reactions. “BRAINIAC???” one user exclaimed. Another added, “Brainiac in live action? I’ve been praying for a time like this.”

Brainiac, created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, first appeared in Action Comics #242 in 1958. He’s known as a hyper-intelligent alien android from the planet Colu, notorious for shrinking cities to preserve in bottles aboard his skull-shaped ship, then destroying their home planets.

Fans are excited about the potential storyline, with some suggesting Gunn could adapt arcs like Ghost in the Machine from Superman: The Animated Series or Divided We Fall from Justice League Unlimited. Others are already fan-casting the role, with many calling for Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito to portray the villain.

While Gunn hasn’t confirmed Brainiac’s appearance, the cryptic hint has certainly sparked excitement. With the screenplay progressing and hype building, Man of Tomorrow is shaping up to be a major DC event.

Bigg Boss 19: Gaurav Khanna SLAMS Baseer Ali, Says ‘Yeh Iron Man Show Toh Hain Nahi..its A Mindgame Show” | Glamsham.com

What started as a casual conversation quickly turned into one of the most intense confrontations of Bigg Boss 19 so far. It began when Baseer Ali asked Gaurav Khanna a seemingly simple question: “Are you happy with your journey in these four weeks?” Instead of keeping things light, the conversation took a sharp turn when Gaurav referenced Baseer’s earlier controversial comment about the “quality of contestants being shit.”

The tension escalated when Kunickaa Sadanand entered the conversation, asking Gaurav about her journey. He called it “amazing,” prompting Kunickaa to admit she had been trying to please everyone but felt she was failing at it.

However, the real showdown was between Baseer and Gaurav. Gaurav accused Baseer of being judgmental, to which Baseer retaliated by calling out Gaurav’s lack of performance. “Should I give you some advice?” Baseer asked sarcastically, adding, “You don’t have the guts to speak in front of everyone.” Kunickaa attempted to de-escalate the situation, reminding Gaurav, “Whatever happens in WKV, leave it there.” But things got worse when their argument shifted to house duties.

Baseer is cutting onions and suddenly things are spicy between him and Gaurav.

Gaurav had earlier pointed out that the bathroom wasn’t clean, leading Baseer to defend the team’s efforts. This led to more taunts. Gaurav said mockingly, “Thank you so much, we’re lucky we’re working with you on this show.” Baseer fired back, “I’ll teach you how to perform, I’ll teach you how to take risks.”

Jean Dujardin in ‘The Incredible Shrinking Man’ French Remake Trailer

by Alex Billington
September 21, 2025

“Our life is fleeting… Tiny – that’s what we are.” Universal France has revealed two full official trailers for a brand new modern remake of the classic story about The Incredible Shrinking Man. From director Jan Kounen, this new French movie is called L’homme qui rétrécit (or just The Shrinking Man as there’s no other English title yet). Jean Dujardin stars in this remake / re-adaptation of the Richard Matheson novel, which is directed by French filmmaker Jan Kounen, and will be released in France this October. It’s premiering first at the 2025 Sitges Film Festival in October – that’s how I found out about this one, since it has barely been mentioned over in the US so far. A shipbuilder named Paul living on the coast inexplicably begins to shrink, then gets trapped in his own basement, only once inch (a few cm) tall. He must fight for survival in now-hostile ordinary household environment. “The Shrinking Man is both a coming-of-age story and an adventure film.” Also starring Marie-Josée Croze and Daphné Richard. And with a new score by Alexandre Desplat. This looks damn good! Not as cheesy or as ridiculous as I was expecting. Of course, once he gets small, he battles his own cat and a very scary looking realistic spider. This looks terrifying! I’m definitely curious to check it out – I hope it’ll also play in the US not long after the French opening this fall.

Here’s two new French trailers for Jan Kounen’s movie The Incredible Shrinking Man, from YouTube:

The Incredible Shrinking Man Trailer

The Incredible Shrinking Man Poster

The Shrinking Man, a new adaptation of the cult novel, follows Paul, an ordinary man who divides his time between his shipbuilding business, his wife Elise, and their daughter Mia. During a trip out to sea, he encounters a strange & unexplained meteorological phenomenon. From then on, Paul begins to shrink inexorably, with science unable to explain why. When, by accident, he finds himself trapped in his own basement, measuring only a few centimeters tall, he must fight to survive in this ordinary environment that has become hostile. Paul is confronted with himself, his life force, the force that drives him to continue living & move forward toward the mystery. The Incredible Shrinking Man, or The Shrinking Man also known as L’homme qui rétrécit in French, is directed by Dutch-French filmmaker Jan Kounen, of many movies including The Broadsword, Soft, Het Virus, Gisele Kerozene, Vibroboy, Dobermann, Blueberry, 99 Frances, Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky, Vape Wave, Mère Océan, My Cousin previously. The screenplay is by Christophe Deslandes & Jan Kounen; based on Richard Matheson’s book published in 1956. Produced by Alain Goldman & Patrick Wachsberger. This is premiering at the 2025 Sitges Film Festival. It opens first in French cinemas starting on October 22nd, 2025. No US date is set yet – stay tuned. Thoughts? Intrigued?

Update On Man Who Died After Roller Coaster Ride

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

A week after a man died at Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida, new information has surfaced about what happened. Additionally, officials have identified the deceased as 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala. New details about the case include who Kevin was with when he rode the Stardust Racers roller coaster and what medical condition he had when he did.

RELATED: Man Passes Away After Riding Roller Coaster At New Florida Amusement Park Epic Universe

Emergency workers who responded to Universal Orlando Resort’s newest park for a man who had become unresponsive on a roller coaster originally were told he had lacerations. But when they got to the ride, he wasn’t breathing and eventually died, according to radio traffic and a report released Friday by the sheriff’s office.

Orange County, Florida, firefighters and Universal emergency workers tried to revive on a platform next to the Stardust Racers roller coaster Wednesday, but the 32-year-old man was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, according to an incident report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Zavala’s longtime girlfriend, who was with him, told deputies that he had a preexisting spinal condition — he used a wheelchair — and was taking medication, the report said.
After performing an autopsy, Joshua Stephany, the medical examiner for the Orlando area, ruled the cause of death as multiple blunt impact injuries and said the manner of death was an accident. The statement from Stephany on Thursday did not mention any details about the injuries, including where on the body they were found.
Zavala’s family in an online post described him Friday as “one of a kind.” Zavala lived in Kissimmee, Florida, a suburb of Orlando.
“Despite the restrictions and obstacles he encountered throughout his life, Kevin met them all with grace, strength, and an unwavering spirit.,” his family said “He overcame so much, and he did so with quiet resilience and humility.”

The Stardust Racers roller coaster opened to the public in May with the debut of the Epic Universe park. The ride is described on the resort’s website as “a breathtaking, dual-launch coaster reaching incredible speeds up to 62 mph (100 kph).”
Stardust Racers was among the rides at Epic Universe which were designed to accommodate people transferring from wheelchairs to the ride vehicle, according to a Universal Orlando Resort safety guide. The guide also said that riders of Stardust Racers were required to pass through metal detectors to make sure they had no loose items in their pockets that could fly out, and that people with prosthetic limbs needed to remove them before riding.
A Universal Orlando Resorts spokesperson has said the resort is cooperating with investigators at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Maria Fernandez, who said she was on the roller coaster at the same time as Zavala, told Orlando television station WKMG that he appeared to be slumped over and bleeding when the ride stopped.
Florida’s largest theme parks are exempt from state safety inspections, unlike smaller venues and fairs. Instead, the largest theme parks like Walt Disney World and Universal conduct their own inspections and have their own protocols. But they must report to the state any injury or death.
The state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, however, said Friday that it had sent an investigator to Epic Universe.
“Universal has been extremely cooperative and has complied with all required notifications,” Aaron Keller, the department’s communications director, said in an email.

“We’re really breaking out the heavy artillery. The big explosions. Hopefully I’ll make the stunts look cool.” Paramount has debuted a quick new behind-the-scenes promo video for The Running Man, the next new Edgar Wright movie after Last Night in Soho in 2021. Landing in theaters this November – watch the first trailer here. Based on the 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) – it is the second adaptation of the book following that 1980s movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Set in a dystopian future, a game show called “The Running Man” has people chased by murderous Hunters across the world to win money. Ben Richards is willing to go the distance in this ultimate game of life and death… This new 2025 version stars Glen Powell as Ben, with Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo. I’m not sure why this featurette is so short – only 30 seconds, with just a few quick shots of the behind-the-scenes stunt work. I hope we’ll see more soon! This movie better be good.

Here’s the quick action featurette for Edgar Wright’s movie The Running Man, direct from YouTube:

The Running Man is directed by acclaimed British genre filmmaker Edgar Wright, director of the films A Fistful of Fingers, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, The World’s End, Baby Driver, and Last Night in Soho recently, plus The Sparks Brothers doc. The screenplay is written by Edgar Wright and Michael Bacall (of Scott Pilgrim, Project X, 21 & 22 Jump Street). Based on the 1982 sci-fi novel “The Running Man” from writer Stephen King. Morrissey Cancels Concerts as Canadian Man Is Charged With Online Death Threats Against Him

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Canadian authorities have charged a 26-year-old Ottawa man whom they accuse of posting death threats against Morrissey online, the Ottawa Citizen reports. The man, Noah Castellano, is being charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and he was released from custody on $5,000 bail, according to the report.

According to court documents obtained by the Ottawa Citizen, investigators believe that Castellano is behind a Bluesky post from September 4 that reads: “Steven Patrick Morrissey when you perform at TD Place here in Ottawa next week on the evening of September 12th, 2025 at about 9pm, I will be present at the venue in the audience and I will attempt to shoot you many times and kill you with a very large gun that I own illegally.”

Morrissey toured the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe earlier this year, and he began his latest North America tour in Montreal on September 10. He played his September 12 show in Ottawa without incident, and continued his tour in Toronto and New York. Nevertheless, he has canceled tonight’s show, in Mashantucket, Connecticut, and tomorrow night’s, in Boston, citing “recent events and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band.”

Man Dies After Roller Coaster Ride At Universal’s Epic Universe In Orlando

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

UPDATE: The man who died following a roller coaster ride at Universal’s Epic Universe amusement park in Orlando had suffered multiple blunt impact injuries, according to Orlando medical examiner Joshua Stephany.

Stephany ruled the death of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, 32, of Kissimmee, Florida, an accident after performing an autopsy. No additional details on the death were disclosed. Local Orlando news outlets report that Orange County (Florida) fire officials have indicated that Zavala hadn’t fallen from the roller coaster.

In a statement obtained by Deadline, Stephany said that Zavala “was found unresponsive on the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal Epic Universe and transported to the hospital. The cause of death is multiple blunt impact injuries. The manner of death is accident.”

Zavala, who used a wheelchair, was taken to a hospital Wednesday evening after being found unresponsive following the ride on the Stardust Racers coaster. A GoFundMe page set up by Zavala’s family states, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved brother, son, uncle, and friend, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, who tragically lost his life in an unexpected accident.”

PREVIOUS, Sept. 18: A man said to be in his 30s died last night after becoming unresponsive following a ride on a roller coaster at Universal’s recently opened Epic Universe amusement park in Orlando, Florida.

The man, identified by Florida’s Orange County Sheriff’s Office as Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, was found unresponsive after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The “dual-launch,” two-train coaster at the Epic Universe, the $7 billion amusement park which opened in May, reaches a height of 133 feet and speeds of 62 miles per hour, according to the park’s website.

Universal is cooperating with the sheriff’s office investigation into the death. In a statement to press, Universal said, “We are devastated by this event and extend our sincerest sympathies to the guest’s loved ones.”

Epic Universe – the first major theme park to open in the United States in more than two decades – includes more than 50 attractions at five of what park officials call “immersive worlds”: Celestial Park (where Stardust Racers is located); The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic; Super Nintendo World; and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Dark Universe.

While Epic Universe was open today, the Stardust Racers attraction was closed.

Last month, NBC aired a special about the new park called Inside the Worlds of Epic Universe, and in a Universal Orlando Resort YouTube video Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers ride the Stardust Racers:

A Man Is Lost in a Maze in a Witty Game Adaptation

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Given how few first-person videogames make a successful transition to the big screen, it’s surprising how easy Genki Kawamura‘s “Exit 8” makes it look. But perhaps the key to not losing much in translation is not having much to lose in the first place. The concept of popular walking game “The Exit 8,” from developers Kotake Create, is so spartan as to be practically monastic. You are lost in a labyrinthine, overlit, Japanese metro tunnel, and the only way to find your way out of its Escher-like infinity-loop construction is to spot its “anomalies” — tiny, deliberate deviations from the previously established norm.

While comparisons to cult sci-fi “Cube” are inevitable, “Exit 8” is simpler, cleaner and less bothered by reasoning out the premise. Instead, the trick here is that, absent the first-person dimension, Kawamura and co-writer Kentaro Hirase add a psychological component to the third-person storytelling. Here, the protagonist’s predicament is cued by his being at a turning point in his life, or rather, because this is “Exit 8,” a turning and turning and turning again point.

Our hero, only ever referred to as the Lost Man (J-pop star Kazunari Ninomiya in a nicely judged rumpled-everyman performance), is on the train when he witnesses an overbearing businessman harassing a young mother about her crying baby and fails to intervene. Soon after, he alights and takes a call from his ex, who is pregnant and awaiting his thoughts on what to do about it. So he’s plunged into worry, and it takes him a while to notice that suddenly he’s alone in a rectilinear nightmare of white-tiled underground passageways, courtesy of Ryo Sugimoto’s sadistically sharp production design, and that following the bland yellow signage toward the exit will eventually always end him up back where he began.

Actually, Lost Man is not quite alone; a slender man carrying a briefcase (Yamato Kochi) walks impassively by him at the same moment each time he arrives in one of the corridors. And later, other wanderers also appear, but his interactions with them are stilted, as though they are non-playing characters (NPCs). As in the game, the only active choice the Lost Man can make, therefore, is to move forward or double back, and soon a poster appears telling him how to exercise that limited free will. Whenever he spots an anomaly, he should reverse course. If nothing’s amiss, he should continue, and this way he will successfully navigate the eight levels and make it to an actual exit. Get it wrong, however, and it resets back to the start and all his progress is undone.

Operating on the same catchy principle that drives a thousand hidden-object or spot-the-difference games, now we, along with the Lost Man, start to obsessively parse each frame for potential deviations. Were the subway posters in that same order last time? Did that door always sit between two air vents? Why is Walking Man suddenly Standing Man, and when did he start wearing that ghastly smile?

There is a matter-of-factness to DP Keisuke Imamura’s flat, bright images that creates a hyperreal eeriness all the more uneasy for being the polar opposite of a horror movie’s usual dark corners and shadowy depths. And editor Sakura Seya does a briskly efficient job of making the metro-corridor Moebius strip feel not only plausible, but solidly real, with only some later developments allowing for any variation in shot style or rhythm.

But at just the point when we might be starting to get a little restless with Lost Man’s erratic progress, Kawamura makes his most daring narrative leap by suddenly switching protagonists — perhaps all those NPCs were not actually NPCs at all, but other “players” trapped in the same psychological and physical limbo for different, uniquely personal reasons. All those reasons, however, have a moral or ethical dimension, which in some cases leads to quite touching developments that in their way further illuminate Lost Man’s own quandary.

That’s not to overstate the depth or emotive nature of a fun little ride that uses broad-brush psychology as an excuse for an elegant puzzle-box that, once solved, does not require further thought. Like the game, which is popular as kind of a one-off without much replayability, “Exit 8” is designed to divert for a short time and does so enjoyably, with Kawamura proving a most judicious assessor of just how little backstory, plot explanation and character development he can get away with and still keep us engaged. But while it doesn’t pretend to some grand philosophy, the movie’s sparseness does give it some mileage as an allegory for how changing things up is the only way to break a cycle of destructive, circular thinking. In a time of increasingly inescapable groupthink and conformity, “Exit 8” wants you to embrace the anomaly.
